Politicians Have Enjoyed Enough, It’s Now People’s Turn – Otti This is a very dumb statement. The politicians were NOT supposed to enjoy AT ALL before. The people were damn TOO MISINFORMED to think that. - So now, the people are powerless to remove the politicians or turn things around. |

brain54:There's two issues here. If the moon never existed, earth will exist very well and you won't even know anything. But if the moon suddenly got destroyed or the particles of the mass can cause a lot of havoc for us. Some say they can float towards earth and form a ring around the earth like saturn. |

Silentgroper:Normal chicken is supposed to grow in like 6 months. But the ones they use for Macdonalds KFC grows in 1 month. The chicken is still biologically a baby, but it is full adult size. That's why the bones are soft. The chemical used to expand that chicken is till in the chicken. You eat that chicken a d you too expand fast like the chicken. Other fertilisers in other foods also affect you the eater this is why forcing people start getting all this gluten problems. They eat too many chemicals in their fake diet. You don't know that Nigerian guys diet history. But it very well can be the case. |

Silentgroper:Ha. Gluten intolerance. Does that happen in NIgeria? That's American white people stuff. With all that GMO food they eat, that makes them and their chickens swell up like balloons. We don't have that issue here in Nigeria. |

Education / Re: English Gurus Pls What Is The Answer To This ?? by uuzba(m): 7:12pm On May 02 |
Biglittlelois: The original statement is one way many British and Americans make jokes and comedies. It's just misdirecting the subject of the sentence. And it is intellectually engaging. They don't have to speak bad grammar just to make a joke. Many Nigerian comedians do not understand this and resort to speaking bad English grammar as their joke. Which is totally unintellectual. Here's a British skit that make use of this type of logic. The Guy is telling a story with some particular subjects and the bar man is constantly referring to a different subject out of the same sentence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8ko2nCk_hE Man: My wife just doesn't understand me. (My reasonings as a man) Barman: Polish or something (else) is she? (Polish people (from Poland) will not understand when you speak English). |
Politics / Re: Fuel Scarcity: Generators Take Over Nigerian Filling Station by uuzba(m): 7:03pm On May 02 |
Sapasenator:Can you be above the average Nigerian? I was listening to 99.3 Nig Info radio, and the guy mentioned that he can't even remember any recent PATRIOTIC NATIONALIST in this country anymore. Everybody has defaulted to facing their own tribe. And that is very bad for leadership of a nation having 500 other tribes. We need people who are TOTALLY detribalised to lead this particular nation, Nigeria. British are foreigners. So automatically, they were detribalised. But now we need a native born Nigerian to be detribalised AND others will copy him to also be detribalised. That's the only way this nation can work. Otherwise, YOU TOO are not different from our useless leaders. 3 Likes |

BlackRainDrops:Wheat bread aids digestion. When you get past 40, white bread will immediately cause you constipation even if you eat 1 slice. Wheat bread will be your best friend. Same as Ewedu soup. It's a vegetable and it's cheap. People eat different foods for different reasons and at different stages in their lives. 6 Likes 1 Share |

phemmie06:Look see... Nigeria gets its foreign exchange from selling crude oil export. Government is in charge of the sales and export. Not the people. And the people are too angry with each other to see this and FIGHT OUT the government. So if people like, let them argue, fight, curse and kill each other till everybody is dead in NIgeria. When everyone is dead, Nigerian government will continue selling the crude oil, then build up all the empty land and open the place up for European and other foreign investors to come and settle. |

Education / Re: What Is That English Spelling That Doesn't Make Sense To You? by uuzba(m): 5:21pm On Apr 30 |
tunde1200: The Answer is "Force" and technology. They all could Write down their languages with their own letters. They all had paper, pencil, pen, gunpower (for bullets), and expert metal working skills to make weapons for war, swords, spear, armour They all had horses for mechanised labour and carrying their soldiers to the battlefield. Steam Engine trains, Bicycles, ... machines. All three languages you mentioned had Empires and fought bloody wars, using all these technologies, to Force their languages on others. Without local homegrown technology, you are not a nation in anyway. They collected almost all of Africa and pushed us aside. British Empire travelled around the world to colonise other countries and force English into their mouths. Russia had Tzars, Communism and others to expand their boundaries and conquer as much of Europe as possible. China had Dynasties and Communism and Forceful rulers. We Nigeria are a collection of very small tribes and villages that were very quickly overpowered by for the weapons of the British. Imagine to the extent that they said, white men showed us umbrella and mirror as gifts and we were so delighted that we sold off our brothers to them in slavery. (Till TODAY, we're still relying HEAVILY on imported goods. EVEN our own petrol is STILL being imported because we can't make ANYTHING. - Nigeria has tried tirelessly to be united. Without Nigeria's Army, we don't have any joint forces of all the local tribes to fight off any invaders. It is the British that made Nigeria Army for us and left us to manage ourselves with it. We're actively STILL fighting ourselves EVEN RIGHT HERE, TILL NOW on Nairaland DAILY!!! How can such disorganised group of people ever get one coherent language? Each of our tribes is too small to dominate. So we just fight each other instead. Unfortunately, English is the only language that works for Nigeria. If Tinubu starts speaking Yoruba on TV to address Nigerians, the country will immediately divide and fall appart. He has to speak English, So did Buhari, And Jonathan, And Yar-Adua, Shonekan, Obasanjo, Abacha, Babangida, Shagari.... 1 Like |

Education / Re: What Is That English Spelling That Doesn't Make Sense To You? by uuzba(m): 4:12pm On Apr 30 |
favour32:The issue here is that English is a language that is derived from many other European languages including French, Latin and Greek. In colonial times, The British that came to Nigeria used to teach Latin in Missionary schools. You understand Latin, you under English better and you have no problems like this. But with time, Nigerians have dissociated themselves from European culture and just isolated English alone. And hence everybody is now confused. You took language and discarded its roots. Hence all the headaches and disbeliefs. |
Education / Re: What Are The Most Useless Courses In Nigeria? by uuzba(m): 12:45pm On Apr 30 |
KingLennon:The course can still be useless. At the end of the day, the only reason you are going to university is because there is legal requirement from employers to hire graduates with NYSC certificate. You can't get the NYSC certificate if you do not go to UNI or Poly. Nigerians just waste their time in University score whatever result, get degree then NYSC certificate then beg for any job that doesn't concern their degree course. - But their overseas counterparts, go STRAIGHT to job and work as intern, part time staff or labour. From the job, they then decide whether to study a course that has anything to do with THAT particular job. Any time you discuss with your agemate, they already have 10 years work experience. |

ufotunang:Internet has spoilt things. It is a 2 edged sword. 1 side gives information. The other side gives moral destruction. When I was in Uni, we had to buy books and handouts to read. Then Internet came, and I learnt about PDF. Can you imagine that till today, the 1000 pages textbook I downloaded, I've still not read it? Free download O! But zero concentration to read it. Instead it is the physical paper books that I was able to read and pass my exams. Who has power to read 1000 pages PDF? Online, when Facebook etc is on the same computer you are using? 2 Likes |

Olam09:The world. When I was a student, there was hardly any cable TV. No DSTV in Nigeria. Just our 5 local stations on TV. TV started at 5pm and closed by 12 midnight. I only watched voltron or whatever from 5pm to 6pm, that's if there was light. We didn't have generator. Non of my friends had gen. Only kerosene lamp. Then go out and play, then 7:30pm to 8:00pm one comedy. And that was it. No Internet, no tablet. Nothing. Just carry books and read and study. Today, kids are carrying DEATH in their hands, mobile phones. And it is giving them mental anxiety, depression, anxiety disorders and other mental health issues. Why won't they fail exams? Their heads are filled up with shit disturbing their concentration and progress. 2 Likes
