Literature › Re: My Take On Chimamanda "Half Of A Yellow Sun" Does Anyone Feel The Same Way To? by uzoexcel(m): 8:18am On Apr 30, 2017 |
Chimamanda wrote the book most probably based on her experience..the book might not v been totally fiction.....hence the dedication to milliteus...also we should probably remember that the biafra dddnt bed happily for most families....most people lost at least a person or two...the novel probably served as a point of contact to those people oyalunasamuel: I hate reading fiction novels because most times the writer toil with the emotions of the reader with suspense, tragedy and grey endings. So my friends got my a Book by Chimamanda, Half of a Yellow sun. Of course before now, i have read several books on the rise and fall of the Biafran State, my favourite was Chinua Achebe "There was a country". For some reasons however, i avoided Half Of A Yellow Sun. until i got it as a gift and I could not close the book until i finished reading it The author was very cruel, i asked myself if she ever took it into consideration that its humans with emotions who read the book and not robots. Of course i totally understand the tragedy of war stories but this is different. In the book I shed tears when Kainene brought the news that Ugwu had died. It was much easier for me to deal with it -after all its one of many war sad tragedy tales- until i read the part that he survived and i felt thankful. Other characters that died like Eberechi, Okeoma felt normal to me even if i felt sad what made me really upset was how the book ended without writing what exactly happened to Kainene. I felt she was mean and not fair, at least the novel was filled with so many tragedy, an happy ending would not have been a bad idea or even if Kainene had die everyone would know exactly how the story ended and mourn her death or something. The pictures were so vivid that certain characters remained constant to me and Kainene was just like Olanna, Odenigbo, Richard and Ugwu. I think proper sending has to be written at least to satisfy my curiosity of what ever may have happened to Kainene. Am aware lots of people got missing during the war in correlation with the vivid picture Chimamanda painted but why Kainene? Anyway, This is such an evocative and poetic novel. The language, the story, the characters, the setting—this is nearly a perfect novel. I was truly engaged and greatly informed. 1 Like |

What is this one saying Beamborla: I think he's right.
Jollof rice originated from Sengal. It is their native meal and we only copied from them.
They call it 'wollof'
In his defence, it would be stupid to give such credit to Nigeria on an international screen knowing it's only a borrowed meal.
There are more important issue facing the country, though.

lol @ shun ponzi scheme pls tell them sgtponzihater: Few days ago I came here to pour my heart out about a job I got. I was so excited that I didn't even negotiate the pay. I was later told it was 80k and as a man with a kid it was a paltry sum.
It was a struggle but I packed my things off the premises. On Friday a friend asked me if I still needed a job and linked me up with a company . I went for the interview impressed as usual and was congratulated and offered the job. This time I reclined into the chair confidently and negotiated the pay. I was told 100k and I told them why it was too meagre for a Seargent. I negotiated it upward to an amount that was fair for us both. Quite happy now as the year is going as planned if not better.
Thanks to the smart ones on N/L who advised me sincerely without demonizing my name.
My advice remains:

Foreign Affairs › The Sinking Of The Titanic, J.P Morgan & John Astor. (the Sordid Conspiracy) by uzoexcel(op): 1:46pm On Apr 21, 2017 |
Almost 105 years to the sinking of the titanic (April 10), I would like to pen down a small write up (albeit copy pasted from several links ) on the events surrounding the sinking of the vessel. MORGAN ROBERTSON's 'blueprint'In 1898 a man named Morgan Robertson penned a book titled "Wreck of the Titan" about a luxury liner deemed unsinkable that was going too fast in the North Atlantic in April and hit an iceberg killing most everyone on board due to lack of lifeboats. 14 years later this fictional book would play out in real life exactly down to the name, with the wreck of the Titanic; but this time it would have major political implications. Some of the wealthiest men in the world were on that ship and some were opposed to the Federal Reserve and central banks. Similarities to the TitanicAlthough the novel was written before the Olympic-class Titanic had even been designed, there are some remarkable similarities between the fictional and real-life counterparts. Like the Titanic, the fictional ship sank in April in the North Atlantic, and there were not enough lifeboats for the passengers. There are also similarities between the size (800 ft long for Titan versus 882 ft 9 in long for the Titanic), speed (25 knots for Titan, 21 knots for Titanic) and life-saving equipment. Beyond the name, the similarities between the Titanic and the fictional Titan include: The Titanic was the world's largest luxury liner (882 feet, displacing 63,000 long tons). The Titan was the largest craft afloat and the greatest of the works of men (800 feet, displacing 75,000 tons). Shortage of lifeboats The Titanic carried only 16 lifeboats, plus 4 Engelhardt folding lifeboats, less than half the number required for her passenger capacity of 3000. The Titan carried "as few as the law allowed", 24 lifeboats, less than half needed for her 3000 capacity. Struck an iceberg Moving too fast at 22½ knots, the Titanic struck an iceberg on the starboard side on the night of April 14, 1912 in the North Atlantic 400 miles away from Newfoundland. Also on an April night, in the North Atlantic 400 miles from Newfoundland (Terranova), the Titan hit an iceberg while traveling at 25 knots, also on the starboard side. Sinking The unsinkable Titanic sank, and more than half of her 2200 passengers died. The indestructible Titan also sank, more than half of her 2500 passengers drowning. Went down bow first, the Titan actually capsizing before it sank. FACTS: FACT: JP Morgan funded/built the Titanic FACT: JP Morgan was booked on the voyage but canceled at the last second. FACT: So many passengers cancelled their tickets at the last minute that the press got wind of it, and the Titanic’s ‘Just Missed It’ club was born, boasting several hundred members—including many personal and professional acquaintances of the aforementioned J.P. Morgan. Many of these wealthy industrialists would later found the Federal Reserve Bank and make a fortune from the unprecedented slaughter of the First World War. FACT: There were no red flares on board to signal to any boats for rescue. Only white flares that signal a party and that everything is okay. FACT: It was the first ship of its kind with the ability to seal decks electromagnetically which could also seal people below deck. FACT: The Captain Edward Smith was one of the most decorated Captains of his time and would have been totally out of character by avoiding precautions. FACT: The author of the book, Morgan Robertson was poisoned to death a couple years after the Titanic sank. FACT: The Federal Reserve was formed the very next year. FACT: The Astor Family was one of the richest families in the world and John Astor III opposed the Federal Reserve. John Jacob Astor IV, the richest man in the world at the time, a friend of Nikola Tesla, and an outspoken opponent of the creation of the Federal Reserve. Astor gained his wealth, in part, as a real estate builder, investor, and inventor. Other prominent Federal Reserve detractors, such as Benjamin Guggenheim and Isa Strauss, also died on board. FACT:Contrary to popular mythology, Titanic was never described as "unsinkable", without qualification, until after she sank.[1] Three trade publications (one of which was probably never published) described Titanic as practically unsinkable prior to her sinking, but there is no evidence that the notion of Titanic's unsinkability had entered public consciousness until after the sinking. For more on this, see 1) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legends_and_myths_regarding_RMS_Titanic#Unsinkable2) https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/1xni4f/did_jp_morgan_build_the_titanic_to_kill_off_the/3) http://www.pacinst.com/terrorists/chapter5/titanic.html4) http://uk.businessinsider.com/conspiracy-theory-that-the-rothschilds-and-federal-reserve-proponents-sank-the-titanic-2015-10?IR=TAn epub version of the book by Morgan Robertson can be gotten from this link http://libgen.io/ads.php?md5=0DEB98F25BDEEB62E8B2157FEBCAB0B0Later and with more time on my hands i would drop a little on the Nikola Tesla/John Astor/J.P Morgan angle in relation to the sinking of the ship.

There is actually..i was quite busy earlier.. If you use windows 7, follow the steps below...its basically just about adding more file index locations.will attach some snapshots to guide you from your start menu, type search ...then click on Indexing optionsOnce it opens, click on modify , another window opens. here u can add more locations from the change selected locations that will be indexed when you search for a missing file. lastly if you observed that certain file types fail to show up even though their locations are included, you may have to include the file type by clicking on the Advanced button on the main Indexing Options screen. Then click on the File Types tab. as usual word files end with (.doc or .docx) while adobe files end with (.pdf) cheers!!!!! DBright123: I will check it out but is there no way it can be resolved?

Welcome Dan India Why python though?I'm also going into programming along with the ccna study and also going into Kali linux and I was thinking c++ was the way to go DanIndia: Hey Guys,
I am sorry I've been absent for quite a while. Life has been pretty busy. I wanna say I am glad things are going on pretty well.. but guys be safe. I'm a bit unhappy with the way the whole thread has turned to a peered file sharing system. Understand that this tutors work their asses off to produce the material you all are sharing freely.. and also, you could be punished severely for distributing such. Cisco are not really friendly with such people. Even telling others the questions you had after the exam is Illegal. Your email adresses and names could be used to ban your certificates and flagged. Just a piece of advice to you all, I beg make una small small.
This doesn't include the videos off YouTube. I am talking about the illegally downloaded videos or Official Cert Guides. You can buy them. If you have the cash, pay for it.
That being sad, any python coders/learners here ? The SDN paradigm is here. We all need to know a programming language or two and for Networkers, python is the best bet |
