its hard to get phd scholarships for our field with an m.sc from naija..thats the sincere truth...tis because in terms of research, we may be seen as lacking as we are usually said to be lacking in terms of using technical tools and the kinda research we usually do for m.sc in naija is usually outdated or out of vogue;it may be different for the power field though;i speak for the comp/comms/control option...the best bet for u is to get a foreign scholarship but for m.sc purposes i.e doing another m.sc..i cant drop links on what i know

if u still insist going for a phd but still on scholarship basis, the only scholarships u may rely on are the naija scholarships for peeps who wanna do their phd outta naija....but u know most at times the nigerian factor must be considered...try the NITDA scholarship next year, its the only one i think which is almost certainly on merit purposes

We would be far more DISTRUSTFUL and DISDAINFUL of foreign schemes aimed at ''helping'' us, because we would KNOW that the foreigners, having NEVER ''helped'' Africa in her 5,000 years of recorded history, aren't about to start doing so today.

We are in effect, on our own. The sooner we realise THIS, the sooner it will help to curb the ''tribalism'' and infighting among ourselves.

wait till u hear my own...my worse course then was Bio 101 , sad but true ...i hated biology all through sec sch and in fact dropped it in SS2 and picked up literature and hence didnt even do biology in WAEC (seriously).. imagine to my chagrin when i got to the univ after getting admission for an engineering course and one of the compulsory courses in first year turned out to be Bio 101...omo, i cried o as i no get any biology background..me wey no even fit draw plant cell...kai... the only thing in bio i remember i cud draw was amoeba and thatz 'cuz its shapeless ... anyways i spent half the semester 'restudying' biology from scratch and managed to escape with a D....dnt even knw hw that happened...i think i made my handwriting overfine but illegible i guess #memories

kg: In summary there two ways to buy- The primary market and the secondary market

Example of how to buy from primary market- Dangote shares is on (IPO)you can just buy directly

Example of how to buy from secondary market- let's say you are interested in First bank, since there is no public offer right now, you will contact your broker and let him know (u must know the right time to buy though, I will find time to send a post on that later) he will then buy for you usually from those selling theirs.

When you buy from the primary market it is cheaper but on the secondary market it is higher. The advantage the secondary market has over the primary is that you can easily sell once there is a rise in share price and you feel you're comfortable with the profit you've made. Unlike the primary where you have to wait for like six months or more to even have access to your cerificate e.g Union Bank shares.

cuppcakke: Its good to know Nigerians are beginning to wake up and smell the roses as regards opportunities in the Nigerian Stock Market, i happen to work with a Stockbroking firm and it breaks my heart to see a lot of foreigners come into our country to make bounty returns while we rot away in ignorance.I am willing to tell anybody all they need to know about investing in the stock market if they are interested.Let me give you a hypothetical example; I bought Benue cement stocks at N6.50k around march this year and the Stock is currently trading at N34.51k, u beat dat!!!.The gospel truth is that no other market instrument can give you such returns.I must also add that playing in the Stock market requires a certain level of risk,because you can loose money,i have lost money in some cases but as long as my gains are a lot more than my loses,i am cool.i can go on and on about the bounty opportunities but its all dependent on your risk level and ofcos your investment objective.No matter the kind of person you are,theres always a stock that can meet your needs, if u can get the rite professional advisers.
