I think you really need to consider that on the long run, the business may be ceded over to your brothers, so you will be doing yourself a world of good to get to experience a bit of the real world out there. The idea of getting a postgraduate degree is good but you could also talk your dad into letting you start from the lower rungs of the company, without favours. That way, you will learn the ropes even better than your brothers, earn the respect of the employees and in the eventuality of you having to do something else other than this you will be properly equipped to cope in any other area of business. Get to work in all the departments.

I think you should engage the services of a lawyer, it doesn't have to be anything expensive, you may find out about the office of the public defender in Lagos, I know there's an office by barracks bus stop in Surulere (if you are in lagos). How are you expected to bear your family expenses for 11months without pay? Whilst no one prays for businesses to fail, your boss needs to be practical and generous in this matter.

The really good thing about this for me woulld be that small businesses may begin to at least have breathing space. If the law is truly enforced then I don't have to pay through the nose to get an office and don't have to dump all the profit into it renewing the rent too. Enforceability though is the key and the fact that rents may increase uncontrollably.

Two other things that are annoying:
1. When sending your CV by email, don't send resend mails. By this I mean sending a long chain of your forwarded mails such that the new message is at the end of a long trail of mails sent to others before.

2. Some people use boxme to manage their mail box. If you are sending a CV to a prospective employer use a mail box, create one if you have to because few people will actually bother to go through your mail forwarding service wahala.

Abortion is unjustifiable. No one has the right to take another's life, even if that life can't speak audibly yet.

I think generally because the moms spend more time with the kids (usually), one does tend to become exasperated with the kids antics sometimes and hence the beatings.

But honestly Kids should not be beaten, like chaircover said there are so many other ways to punish a child. With my first her school had the naughty corner punishment and it always worked because if she knew she would get denied the time to play with the other kids then she wouldn't do it. With my son the more the beatings the more he does it and then looks at you ''one kind'.

There are even private schools that beat children at least I know of Chrisland and K.Kotun. Totally unnecessary and barbaric in my opinion. You don;t beat knowledge into a child. You nurture.
