You are not far from the truth. I had the same experience the first day. Luckily for me the next day I went very early I was the second person they attended to and I was able to retrieve my sim before the no network issue started.

Painful, because one cannot continue to use bad services in the name of Patriotism. I have been a fan of glo since when they started per second billing and put MTN to shame but over the years MTN has been a better service provider in terms of quality services.

Seriously, glo needs to step up their service if they truly want to give mtn a challenge.
For now, MTN is not doing so well but many people still stick to them because others are not stepping up.

Imagine 1gb for #200, 1.5gb for #300 mtn is giving their customers.

Others need to introduce something similar.

I once ordered a phone on Aliexpress and this was October last year. NIPOST confirmed arrival of this in November and I went over to pick this up.

Here is the thing, when it arrived in Nigeria, I used the tracking number provided on Aliexpress to track the phone on NIPOST track and trace and I was able to know every details about its arrival. I even did this till I confirmed it was at one of their branches. Within an hour or two, I received a call to come pick up the phone.


NIPOST track and trace works especially if the item is expensive but I am not certain if you will still find details of your phone on NIPOST track and trace since it is over 5 months now.

COVID-19 seriously affected both Singapore Post and NIPOST. That is the reason for all the delays. You know that for some time only GL 14 and above were going to work because of COVID-19; it affected NIPOST Operations.

But how come other items are coming in.

Someone will order for phone and memory card, memory card will arrive but phone will be nowhere to be found.

The truth is, Nigeria will definitely soon be blacklisted.
Because of lack of prompt updates on delivery, many people will receive their items and still refuse to confirm their orders in order to still get refunded. THIS IS NOT FAIR!

If nipost updates every tracking information, there is no way any buyer will get refunded for what they've collected. Because tracking will show delivered.

I have not been refunded sir. They claimed my package is in my country. That nipost refused to update the tracking information

I opened dispute, aliexpress rejected my plea. They claimed my item is already in Nigeria.

Am also a victim now...order a drone in early March....this is d first time it's happening to me...sti shows dispatched to destination till now...if it were before i would have received in 30days...and I've declared completed online.

I have been calling all their customer care number I saw on their twitter page, the calls are going through but nobody is picking up.

The one that managed to pick up asked me to send my tracking number and call back after some minutes. I sent the tracking number, and called back after some time, she refused to pick again.

Chai!!! I don't even know who to call again.

Seriously, this is another bad image for Nigeria.
If aliexpress kept refunding Nigerians for items that have been shipped to their country, then it's only a matter of time before they blacklist us.

On the 7th of March, I ordered a phone which was shipped on the 18th of March. Ever since then, nothing has been heard of it.
The memory card I intended to use with the phone was ordered two days later, and that one has since arrived.

From the lamentations on the aliexpress thread, I noticed a lot of people are also in my situation.
They bought phones which refused to deliver whereas the accessories they ordered days after ordering the phone got delivered.

This lead to the assumption that nipost staffs are deliberately holding on to these phones for reasons best known to them.

I don't want to believe these phones are being stolen by those that are meant to deliver them to us.

Why will I buy a phone with my hard earned money only for it to be stolen by people who are meant to deliver the phone?

This is corporate robbery and should be condemned.

How will a phone come all the way from China without missing only for it to get to Nigeria and get missing?

I have to create this new thread to make our plight known to the whole world.

Unfortunately we can't provide proof cos we have no access to where these things are being done.

We only hope someone highly placed enough to make changes is reading this and will preoffer some drastic changes.

The same with the attitude of some PO staffs that will dump packages if they do not know the owners personally, or if such an individual doesn't "settle" when they come to pick their items. It's unfortunate but we pray we get to the promised land soon enough....

Maybe we should open a fresh thread for that purpose, then tag a supermod to move it to front page for us.

I believe phones are being targeted at the customs check to even local PO. I've ordered 5 phones from October last year to date and never got even 1.

I got refunded though, but lost more than $114 from heartbeat for not buying insurance (e pain me ehnnnn).

So am thinking some PO staffs are stealing phones and selling dem outside, most people aren't complaining cos they get refunds but I think questions should be asked why 9 out of 10 items missing are phones.

I've resolved to source for phones locally or buy through Jumia, I no get power for plenty story abeg.

No no. It's the duty of the destination country to update it. That's false information. Is it that post office staff doesn't even know how it works or what?

You are right, in fact there was a time aliexpress was just dashing invalid dispute to everyone, their reasons was that destination country refused to update tracking information

Normally once packages arrive, Nipost should receive them and update "arrival at destination country". Unfortunately, they are still enjoying coro holiday at home

Our country surprises me a lot. Bars have opened since. Nobody is taking this covid 19 seriously anymore. We only wear mask here in lagos when we want to enter transport and its not for protection, na so we go hear word. And they have already started carrying normal number of passengers.

That's 17th of August. And it's AliExpress standard shipping. It's surprising that after they updated it to arrived destination country, they haven't updated more info. For yanwen and the rest it's not that shocking.

That's because our NIPOST is too lazy. They refused to update these items after receiving them. I won't be surprise if it takes another two months before getting to you.

I think that arrival update was done by the shipping company. Since most of us always complain that we have not received our items. They decided to start doing the arrival at destination country themselves. That's the best way to let us know our items are already in our country. Nipost that is supposed to continue the update are still enjoying corona holiday.

I think it's now $100, did an $85.11 transaction and tried to do a further $20.95 order and got the reply that I have exceeded my card limit. They did the reduction without any notice.

They actually sent notice on the 10th. But $100 is too small sha
