The massacre of old people, women and children in Odi didn't put an end to militancy in the Niger Delta. The Government had to later beg and promised them amnesty.

The killings upon killings of IPOB members by the military have lead to the creation of ESN.

Well, make we dey look as things dey go cool
Bros..leave some of them idiots here spewing trash and think Nigerian army is one invisible force...!! Time would come if this country still remain one that the army would beg for permission to enter certain areas..its even already happening in Borno....their jet fall down..dem all dey fear to venture out. Dambazau is one of the most terrible COAS we have had since 1999.

Just look at the nonsense he was doing when Yardua was so sick and after yaradua died.

He was more interested in protecting the Government of his fulani brother. He was part of the people that sideline GEJ and kept the man in the dark.

The likes of Dambazau can never be more patriotic than I am.

I can still remember an interview Ihejirika granted while Ihejirika was still the COAS. He said during the tenure of Dambazau as the COAS, he made him(Ihejirika) serve under a junior Major General. When he approach him(Dambazau) about it, he told him to take it in good faith(can't really remember his exact words).

See the trash he is coming out to say now, what about armed fulani heardsmen, destroying people's farm in the south? If not for the fulani heardsmen menace with their cows, there won't be an amotekun, ESN and UGM.
Danbanza have always been a very stupid individual and extremely sectional...How can you have people like that in the army and expect things to be ok...? We've still got many of his types in the army uptill now ..some of them are those who gave army uniform and guns to their fulani brothers doing menial jobs in obigbo to murder indegines of obigbo during the obigbo crises...there was even sometime the army came to attack ipob people in the past with their fulani brothers shooting people poison arrow...!! All these stories are in the public domain and also here on nairaland...!!

The youth better sit down "jeje, ti ori wan to ma lo gba abode"
And your demented brain don't know that this is not the first time the nigerian army is doing such or carrying out such nonesense..!!

Have you asked what Fela or his aged mother did that made the Nigerian army throw her to her death from a storey building?

Don't know how old you are but always sounding dumb trying hard to be politically correct and trying hard pretending to be a patriot...!!

Like I wrote..to end all these nonesense when those affected also begin to kill the commander and his family and soldiers directly involve, others would begin to have a rethink because they sure know that they would reap the consequence of their action(s)...!!!
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Valkrie: 9:03pm On Apr 09, 2021
Thos Nigerian army still think we are in 1960 with so much lies..!!

Locate the commander who lead the soldiers to comit the havoc and take him with his entire family then go after the foot soldiers one by one no matter the time it takes...That action would help reset the brain of any mofo commander who thinks he or she can hide under the tag of unknown soldiers and kill people for nothing and to even see some people holding brierfs for the useless unprofessional army here is simply pathetic...!! I hope the army won't begin to call for prayers when the people they treated badly decides to carry arm and avenge what the army did to them...!!?

Boys beat you for road and collect your money...you go gather your gang members begin kill old men, women and children and burning their houses...who does that other than bandits...?
PoliticsRe: Update On Situation In Konshisha Local Government Area Of Benue State by Valkrie: 8:51pm On Apr 09, 2021
The people they burn their village and kill their people should simply investigate and locate the commander of the troop that did the havoc and eliminate him and his entire family...!! Then go after the foot soldiers one by one and get down as many as possible along with their family...!! When they know that they can never hide behind the tag of unknown soldiers to commit evil they would learn to start doing the right thing...This army people only need violence of equal proportion to know what's cooking.. !!

you missed the part of American history where US troops gunned down unarmed students protesting the Vietnam war?
now of course i get your point, issue here is, certain countries like Myanmar and Nigeria seem to be brazen in their unethical treatments of civilians. A one off event is one thing, Nigeria's own seems to be on repeat.
And someone keep saying all is fair in war or whatever, didn't know war was declared in that area. if those affected civilians are your loved ones, you wouldn't call it fair.
go after criminals, making life hell for the people will not change hearts in support for the govt or troops.

When the civilians the Nigerian army treated so badly decides to carry arms now. All we would be hearing from the useless army is pray for us.... .their gun is more sophisticated than ours..The Nigerian army never learn...They would continue to die like fowl...Whatever happens they would never win the trouble they started...!!! I just wonder the kind of training they give them in that their camp...no single professionalism...Just point and shoot then burn, which is not so different from the way the ordinary bandits we have here operates...!!

OfoIgbo:
These guys and stupidity are like 5 and 6

The army can only do this show of force in about 2 to 3 towns simultaneously. 5 towns at most

Igboland is not made up of just 5 towns so yet again, the military planners have embarked on the wrong course of action.

As I wrote severally previously, the Nigerian authorities will have to eat humble pie to make headway.

The Nigerian authorities started this meaningless violence against unarmed flag waving youths and women. They carried out this brutal violence for many years, killing and raping peaceful IPOB protesters.

Easterners no longer see the Nigerian military and police as there for them, so any show of force will be seen as a ploy to intimidate, and believe it or not, the normal easterner has more confidence in an ESN operative or UGM than in a police or military man.

Now that the military machine is in Owerri, the UGM can easily relocate to any other Igbo town and operate there, and possibly be organising hit and run operations inside Owerri.

Today the UGM have successfully checked the activities of military and police roadblocks in Igboland, and if the military now wants to adopt the show of force formular, in a few months time the UGM may team up with ESN to effectively instil terror in the hearts of military and police officials involved in those show of force operations.

The Nigerian authorities need to start speaking with IPOB and ESN, identify common interests and pursue them. Identify divergent interests and come up with compromises if possible
Bros you talk well but there is nothing like common interest here when those you want to discuss with only want to backstab you at the end of the day...the message is clear for all to hear and see...dem no want wan be part of the fulani nigeria again...its a simple and very clear message...nothing to discuss here...!!

ESN is basically harassing herdsmen who are mainly livestock dealers, this is a fact, tell me anywhere in the east down to Rivers where there has been any report of Fulani militia hit, if the answer is no, then I expect ESN to operate in Ebonyi state alone, now educate me, what the fvck are they doing in other areas?

PoliticsRe: FG And Igbo Governors Must Never Grant Amnesty To Ipob/ESN aka Unknown Gunmen by Valkrie: 7:52am On Apr 08, 2021
oilyngbati:
It is with heart ache that I've read some comments online from disillusioned and misinformed Igbo youths that Ipob/ESN should be granted amnesty and "reintegrated" into the society. Their reason being that boko haram, fulani bandits and niger delta militants were all granted amnesty. In essence, what these misguided Igbo youths are saying is; 'North has terrorists, therefore we must have our own. The SS has militants, hence we must have oours'. These unreasonable Igbo now see criminality and violence as a form of "national cake" in which Igbo must have her own share in. These ill-informed youths have now forgotten that elections are going to be held in Anambra and the presidential election, which is the ultimate ticket/means to having a substantial part of the national cake is just 2years away. While their counterpart in other regions are strategizing on how to navigate the Nigerian political spectrum vis-a-vis the national collective menace of fulani herdsmen, they are now focused on the distraction known as ESN aka unknown gunmen as directed by the greatest runaway coward in modern history- Nnamdi Kanu. This coward is in London, hiding, having a good time with his family-thanks to money donated to this conman/coward by misguided Igbo, while many keep loosing their lives for a fraudulent cause.

Back to the main aim of this topic; my main reason for being opposed to any form of amnesty to the terrorist organisation called Ipob/ESN is because of the bad precedence such action will torpedo to. If president Muhamadu Buhari and SE governors have the best interest of Ndigbo at heart, they will NEVER grant amnesty to these terrorists IPOB. On the other hand, if the president decides to yield to the outrageous cry of granting amnesty to these vermins, then I would conclude that Buhari hates Igbo.

The resultant effects of past amnesty:

NIGER DELTA MILITANT AMNESTY:
Amnesty was granted to MEND militants by the late president Musa Yahadua, most of the youths were being paid 65k per month. This has lead to able bodied men and women lazying around, with no atom of skill. The only thing these folks are good at is shouting 'our oyel, our oyel, our oyel'. Most of these youths in this region are now into cultism, because of this entitlement mentality.

Boko Haram/Fulani Bandits: The insurgency in the north is now in its 12th year, with no end in sight. The northern leaders funded, groomed and nurtured these monsters, and now they've become multi-headed hydra monsters, completely out of control.

The Igbo I grew up to know:
Growing up, I saw most Igbo parents, like mine push their kids to be the best in whatever they set out to do, especially in education and the ability to decipher truths from fiction (I don't know if such drive still exists in the Igbo parentings of today). The Igbo I knew was a Igbo with the 'can do spirit'. A people who always excel when you don't expect them to and a people with immense wisdom. That's why our ancestors never had kings, hence the phrase-Igbo eweghi eze. We are only led by the wisest amongst us, who must have demonstrated exemplary leadership quality, the most important being the ability to listen to other people's views and to weigh his actions and utterances very carefully, especially how it affects his people.
If amnesty is granted to these IPOB/ESN terrorists, I foresee a situation were most Igbo will engage in a life of crime, making the SE inhabitable. The Igbo 'can do spirit' will gradually fizzle out. Our competitiveness that has made us develop an apprenticeship scheme, which in turn has helped us to develop the largest middle class in Nigeria, to the awe of our adversaries, will be completely destroyed.
Ipob members must dissociate themselves from Nnamdi Kanu. When you study his actions very well, you'll know he has nothing to offer anybody. All he's after is his pocket. To all those who are bamboozled by his ESN, it's all fraud. Kanu video-shopped the the videos of the Ambazonian training camp. His ESN is not even upto 50 misguided youths, 16 of which were killed in Aba last week by the military. Kanu even denied them when they were caught. ESN/unknown gunmen is a ploy by Kanu to keep raising money, because when you keep seeing ESN, you will keep sending money, thinking he's working by safeguarding the SE.

How ESN Operates:
ESN attacks police and military checkpoints. Steals their guns (Kanu is so greedy, he couldn't even buy his ESN an ordinary AK). ESN then buys a cattle from a fulani herdsmen, takes the cow into an isolated bush. Then they video themselves running and shooting, claiming they are chasing fulani herdsmen. They build a few small huts in the bush, burn them down and tell you it's fulani settlement they burnt down. All na format! They are desperate for cash, hence the continued videos of their childish acts. who records himself, shooting and chasing fulani? Enough of these stupidity or else, it will lead to the destruction of the SE.
And who told you they need or are looking for amnesty? People say they want their separate country and no longer want to stay with killers in Nigeria and you are here talking about amnesty...una eye never still clear I suppose?

EXCLUSIVE: Military Launches Air Strikes On Benue To Kill Unknown Gunmen, Residents Panic
The aircraft flew as low as 5 to 10 metres above the roof level with a wicked soldier who was shooting randomly and emptying a lot of magazines in motion

and the Nigerian Air Force have begun air strikes on Bonta community in Shangev Tiev, Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State, to destroy the camps of unknown gunmen, believed to be militants from the South-East.

SaharaReporters learnt that the military jets after leaving Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State on Tuesday where they had been engaging operatives of the Eastern Security Network, were redirected to Benue State to continue air interdictions.

SaharaReporters gathered from eyewitnesses that the aircraft flew at low level as they released gunfire, forcing residents to run in different directions as the deafening bombardments continued on Tuesday.

“The aircraft flew as low as 5 to 10 metres above the roof level with a wicked soldier who was shooting randomly and emptying a lot of magazines in motion,” a witness stated.

“It all started this morning, when Nigerian military attacked the people of Bonta in Shangev Tiev, Konshisha LGA using aircraft. This unexpected attack made everyone run out of the villages and look for a secure place to lay low,” another resident said.

“There are actually reports of deaths from the bullets, the shock from the unexpected attack and the loud sound and vibration from the aircraft. There have truly been communal clashes between the people of Shangev Tiev and the Igede community in Okpute.

“Some military men were caught in the clash when they were attacked by some Shangev Tiev youths on their way to their place of assignment. Now, the military have come to avenge the attack on their members,” another source revealed.

The Nigerian military confirmed the aerial strikes in Benue, saying they were from troops of Operation Whirl Stroke who came to engage attackers who had ambushed some soldiers days earlier.

“Some soldiers deployed to maintain peace between two warring communities of Konshisha and Oju LGAs respectively were ambushed. The soldiers were said to be on routine patrol in parts of Konshisha and Oju LGAs at about 5pm when the armed attackers seized them and went away with about eight soldiers after they opened fire on the troops.

“The military then went to reinforce and are back to the community,” a military source stated.

Only on Tuesday, the military aircraft had also caused an uproar in Essien Udim, Akwa Ibom, when the gunmen were targeted in aerial strikes for earlier killing a Chief Superintendent of Police, Benedict Okoh Ajide and other police officers.

The gunmen also killed a yet-to-be-ascertained number of military officers while many others were injured.

The policemen and soldiers were said to be in the community for peacekeeping efforts.
