I wonder how much it will cost me to get a solar system that will power 1. One 2 hp AC, a deep freezer, one fridge, three TVs, one ox fan, one laptop for at least 16 hours per day.

I have a budget of 750k will this suffice? And with solar do I still need to charge it with nepa or generator? I need a quick answer.

removing AC. fridge and freezer on for 10hrs a day. u will be needing a 24v system
a good 24v hybrid 80A mppt is around 250k to 300k

u dont have to fear, but there are different versions of it anyway. if written LIFEPO4, then just charge according to the recommended charge profile.

Hi folks,

I just bought a pair of Blue carbon 24v 200ah lifepo4 batteries to replace the gel batteries on my 24v. 3kva hybrid inverter paired with 8x 250 watt panels

Setting it up now on my hybrid inverter. The documentation that came with it is not very clear.
So here is how I've set it up with my hybrid inverter

Charging voltage: 29.2
Float voltage: 27.2
Low voltage disconnect (inverter): 23.5v

How do these figures look? If I know the LVD of the BMS, it will help me set the LVD on the inverter well. But don't know what it is or how to find out.

Any advice please?

(P.S Most installers will just install the battteries without setting these on the inverter. The guy that came to install was clueless. His boss was just murtering technobabel and saying I wouldn't understand as I'm not an engineer and don't understand lithium batteries.

blue carbon 200ah 24v.. not real capacity though. if truly lifep04 cells inside, u should charge at 27.8V/28V absorb, 27V/27.2V float. low voltage disconnect between 24v to 24.5V

Gacia likely in the same league with GBM and the rest. if u must use lead acid and not lithium, kindly walk into fullriver office in Lagos.

fairly used batteries na black market, what u see, is not always what u get. your best bet is to demand for a one or 2 weeks guarantee from the seller, that will give u enough time to throughly test it.

u can order a low battery voltage disconnect board from Aliexpress, as i dont think your type of inverter can be set as u wish.

he simply mean, that it is likely to have a very high self consumption.(consumes so much power just for being on and inverting).

For the sake of Openness, l think the person you are chatting-Up should also let you know that he is a SELLER of the same Product he is talking to you about.
There is something they call "Conflict of Interest", which may come up in such discussion.
He should have issued a CAVEAT earlier.

BTW: a Phocos 5KVA Hybrid Inverter costs around #500K. It can be Paralleled (expanded, if the need arises).
There are prices of 7KVA upwareds on this thread, if you read back pages or go to the websites of the Dealers/Manufacturers

Just be careful, so you dont enter Express unknowingly.

u really believe his technician is actually offering him a growatts ES, phocos or deye? btw, i no longer have any 48v hybrid inverter for sale at the moment and no where in any of my post did i offer to sell him an inverter. i have always try to make him understand that he dont need any 7.5kva or even any upgrade, until he upgrades his panels and batteries first. lastly we are yet to chat. wink

I recently installed a solar inverter system with the following setup:

1. 4 solar panels (each 300watt) = total 1200watt
2. 24v inverter system
3. 2 units of 230amp battery
4. 60amp PWM charge controller

My load at max capacity is 500 watt and could go as low as 300watt during midnight hours.

But I noticed that my battery charge depletes faster than its charging, is it supposed to be so? What i mean is, my battery could be 26v after fully charged with no load, but after 4 hours of use, it falls down to 24.5v even when the solar panel is still charging the system.

So I am beginning to wonder if this is normal or there is a problem with my system configuration or the charge controller itself since i am using a PWM cc.

Please gurus in the house, i need your input.

replace the CC immediately. get a standard 60A mppt.

yes batteries reads 14.3 , 14.4 daily sir (I.e whenever I use the solar panels and 13.9V when I use nepa.
Sometimes I use the two simultaneously, to quickly get full charge whenever there is nepa
Charging parameters : solar panels alone when there is no light. And both simultaneously (solar and nepa ) when there is nepa light

lets see the pictures of your battery and inverter. your is likely a fake 100ah, how much did buy it

Insead, i feel with 180k extra, i can get hybrid 7.5kva instead or is he offering me a good deal?

it is not a good deal, unless he is giving you a growatts ES model. but which brand of 5kva is he planning to give u?

if his load is truly 1000w, why suggest 7.5kw inverter for him, isnt that an overkill? he simply need a 5kva 48v inverter.

your technician must not buy everything for you, u can buy things by yourself. u can get ANERN 48V 100A mppt, sorotec 48V 80A mppt, EPEVER 48V 80A mppt all at less than 400K.

Even if the 4 batteries, at present, are sufficient to power his load load for over 24 hours? And the size of the inverter is to accommodate future expansion of the battery bank?

just 4 pcs of 220ah tubular might not be enough to power lets say a continuous 3000w to 4000w load when the sun is down. it defeats the purpose, if he only have 3150w panels and just 4pcs lead acid batteries to use on the proposed 7.5kw inverter. in essence he need to upgrade his battery bank and solar panels capacity first.

your 4pcs 220ah tubular batteries might not be enough to efficiently run a 7.5kw inverter, u need atleast 8pcs. 4 or 5kw hybrid inverter is your best bet for now.

a useless nairalander sold this charger/ a similar charger to me about 2 yrs ago...could even charge leadacid battery...output voltage doesn't go above 12.8v. the mumu guy refused to take back his product and refund me.......

lolz, kpele. that is a pulse repair charger. i doubt if it can charge lifepo4 efficiently.
