Politics › Re: Nigeria Better Together, Tinubu Urges Agitators Of Secession by vanunu: 6:15pm On May 02, 2021 |
nairavsdollars: The National Leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu has called on aggrieved regions clamouring for secession to jettison the idea as the country is better together than separated. Tinubu, former Governor of Lagos State, made the call in his message, at the Special Ramadan Prayer, “Tafsir” Lecture, held at the Lagos House, Marina, on Sunday.
According to him, the war drums some people are beaten will result in the disintegration of the country like Sudan and Iraq. He further said the country is yet to recover from the effect of the civil war, adding the country can not afford to experience another war.
“For clamouring for war, God will not allow Nigeria to experience war. If we say Nigeria should separate, people should remember what war caused in Sudan and Iraq. Such war does not end on time. We are yet to recover from the civil war.
“We are better together. I have nowhere I am going. Whoever has experienced war in the past will not pray for such. Nigeria will not separate, it’s not acceptable to us. Our prayer is for prosperity and more wealth for the country,” he said. Tinubu also praised Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat for their achievements in the state. He expressed satisfaction with their performances, saying that the state has witnessed massive developments since the administration came on board.

nwaanambra1: there lies the hypocrisy of the a biased failed nation.
BokoHaram will succeed in carving out a full caliphate from the northeast probably before 2023 - to be ruled by them alone implement full Islamic law and will have nothing to do with the Nigerian nation except trade - as they are already doing now.
BUT THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT DOESNT SEE THEM AS SECCESIONISTS BUT RATHER CLASSIFIED THEM AS JIHADISTS.
VERY FUNNY SHITHOLE ZOO. Is very obvious that the Nigerian government will be defeated by the islamists |

yashau: - It is in the best interest of elites for Nigeria to remain united, according to Lai Mohammed - The minister of information who accused the elites of fanning calls for Nigeria’s breakup, cautioned them to stop - According to Mohammed, if the country splits, those in the high society will bear more of the consequences Read more: https://www.legit.ng/1412684-lai-mohammed-warns-elites-professors-work-bakeries-nigeria-breaks-up.html
Nigeria's minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, has cautioned the elites to stop fanning calls for the nation to break up. He made the disclosure when he featured on a NAN flagship interview programme, NAN Forum on Wednesday, April 21. According to Mohammed, it is in the best interest of the elites to ensure that Nigeria remains as united because they will suffer the consequences of disintegration more, TheCable reports. Lai Mohammed has cautioned Nigerian elites to work to fix Nigeria in their best interest. Photo credit: While accusing the elites of fanning the embers of disintegration, the minister maintained that those who have attained professorial status may be to work in Togo bakeries in order just to survive. The minister of information noted that the elites ought to take the lead in cementing the unity of the country instead of preaching tribal hatred. He said: “The elites will suffer more because some professors could be working in bakeries in Togo just to survive. We saw it happen when the Liberians came here during their civil war. “It is in their own enlightened interest that they should work to fix Nigeria. Many of them have more than one passport — American, British, Irish — and at the first crack of trouble, they are gone.” According to The Guardian, Mohammed pointed out that the calls needed to be addressed as they had become more pronounced. He explained that there was a need to take drastic measures to tackle it. PAY ATTENTION: Install our latest app for Android, read the best news on Nigeria’s FG says agitators will flee from Nigeria when crisis erupts Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the minister of information and culture said people agitating for secession will be the first to flee the country if such agitation leads to crisis. Mohammed, who spoke on Sunday, April 18, in Lagos when he appeared on Bond FM radio programme, urged Nigerians not to listen to promoters of secession. The minister insisted that secession is not the solution to the challenges facing Nigeria. He pointed out that issues in the country such as ethnicity, activities by extremist groups and farmer-herders clashes are not new. In a related development, Senate President Ahmad Lawan accused the elites of being behind calls for Nigeria’s breakup. According to the lawmaker, ordinary citizens do not share the same view as the elites as they believe that the country should remain as one contrary to calls for secession. Remember boko haram is mainly destroying the North and killing northerners, so the emergence of ESN as a militant faction of IPOB will mainly affect Ibos and Eastern states.
