A supposed staff of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has come up to lament the state of the workplace at the giant identity body. The body solely committed to issuing the national identity cards and carry out other national identity related duties in Nigeria has, however, not come forward to debunk or released a statement concerning this alleged toxicity and corruption wallowing at the workplace.



*Cheating in its height at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC)*

The management of the National Identity Management Commission has deployed what can be referred to as modern slavery against her workforce.

The rules are nothing but mere letters and are not followed at all in this commission which has brought about agitation that the corruption in this administration is beyond what the nation has ever seen.

Firstly, the issue of salary at this commission needs urgent attention of the government, staff does not have any stable salary and the salary is always reducing in spite of promotion of staff. The recent case is the case of around 30% reduction in staff salary despite promotion which made staff receives far lesser salaries to what they were earning even before promotion. Also, there is irregularity in the take home of staff on same grade level, some staff on same Grade Level who were in fact employed the same day receive different salaries with around N11,000 difference.

Another is the issue of promotion, promotion in this commission is based on who you know and not on whether you are qualified and due for it. The recently concluded promotion was quite unfair and beyond what any reasonable explanation can justify. Staff who have spent well over 3 years on their previous posts were not promoted while staff who merely joined the commission in less than 3 years got double promotion as against the public service rules.

For over 12 months now, the enrolment centers of the commission have not been funded and there are always memo requesting that enrolment figures should be doubled. This has resulted in staff using their personal monies to fund the office or resorting to applicants for financial assistance.

The working conditions in the offices are poor and hazardous to health yet no hazard allowance or any allowance at all is received by staff.

For over 4 years now, Pension and housing fund has been deducted from staff salaries but not remitted to the appropriate agencies. Also, staff are being owed 28 days allowance, promotion arrears and nothing has been said about it despite the commitment of this present government to payment of those allowances.

In all of these, staff are constantly doing their bits as enrolment figures roll in every day. The management on the other hand are far from doing their part as they have failed to provide the motivation and the necessary tool needed for the smooth running of the organization. They have even failed the public by not producing their Identity Cards as at when due.

There is need for the public to know about this so that there will be intervention from the appropriate quarters.

Staff of this Nimc should not take this laying low. You guys should fight for what is yours. Ensure you call the attention of relevant authorities involved to look into this matter. Silence on your part will simply mean you guys are OK with such inhumane treatment.

I met this girl back in the day. Everything checked out right with her and I believed I had finally found my lost rib. It started with debt, she claimed she was owing a woman 150k and that the woman was on her neck ,so she pleaded with me to help her pay and without hesitation I wired the money to her. A week later,I noticed if I don't call her she won't call me or when she calls we may end up quarrelling. A day came she brought up this idea of starting up a small business so that she won't be asking me money all the time and when I inquired about the business she gave me a bill of 600k. I told her u don't expect me to wire 600k to u just like that. I asked her to explain what the business is all about and if I'm convinced I will give her the money. Then she came up with one story like that about gas supply and the profitability level. After much argument back and forth, I gave her the 600k. Barely a week later she came up with a story about how her ex saw her at the bus stop and collected her phone from her and that she should come to his house and collect her phone . From the direction she was going I knew she wanted me to buy a new phone for her and when I asked what phone do u need to buy she said iPhone 4. Then ipone4 was being sold at about 120k for a new one so without baiting an eye lead, I went into zenith bank and transferred 130k to her . Two weeks later, during easter we were meant to spend the easter together but somehow she just found one excuse to be away from me . when I call her, she wouldn't take my calls but send message later that she will call me which she would never do. A week after easter, she sent me text one night around 1130 pm that she lost her phone I bought like two weeks earlier. In the morning of the following day she called more than twenty times before I finally picked her calls and she was crying on phone ,apologising to me . I asked her to come see me at my office and within 30 minutes she was already troubling my secretary. When we met, I took her to shoprite where I got her a brown new iPhone 5 that was just launched in Nigeria. Well to cut the long short, after I blew over 1.5 million naira on her within a span of 3 months she told me to my face she doesn't love me . I said ok and let her go.

Mine was in Secondary school SS2 precisely. Our economic teacher asked the whole class to buy a textbook. Most of us went to the market in search of the textbook bt it was scarce. The only person that got the textbook told us his mum got it for him in faraway place. So our economic teacher conclude we must bring #750 for the textbook(he gave us just a week). Most of us(except 5 student) compiled because we know how wicked he was. After about a week plus, he brought the book and the 5 studentz that didn't pay for the book collect 5 strokes of cain each on the back(imagine how painful it is). After the strokes of cain, they were all crying, we tried comforting them. I raised my voice in the class and said ''this is barbarous, the teacher ought to flog their parents whom didn't compile and not the students'' I never knew the teacher was at the door step, he heard everything I said. That was how the teacher counted the 5 students and gave me their strokes each(25 strokes). I beared the cain I didn't cry because They call me Iron man during my School days. When I got home I pull off my clothes I used the mirror and looked at my back. I cried the cry of a life time. Suprisely I came to school the next day, 3 of the victim didn't come. One of the victim brought his mom to school self.
