Politics › Re: Attack On Igbos In Bayelsa Is Highly Disgraceful And Condemnable by vanvick247(m): 6:53am On May 13, 2017 |
Fx55: I wouldn't fault your opinions on this issue... But we need to get the facts straight. I live in Yenagoa and I'm Igbo... So I'll be stating the facts as they are... For the singular reason that I'm on ground and have been abreast of this issue.
First of all, the name of the community is Biogbolo and not Biagbolo as you wrote.
1. There was an unfortunate and regrettable incident of the gruesome murder of a young Ijaw girl by a supposed Tochukwu of Igbo extraction.
2. No single Igbo person or property was attacked in Yenagoa.
3. Ijaw youths from Biogbolo community held a peaceful protest demanding for justice for the murdered young lady.
4. Tempers were high but at no time did things get out of hand or turn violent.
5. The media has blown this issue out of proportion for whatever reasons I may not be able to explain. Funny enough I learnt about the incident on this forum. It wasn't such a big deal as being speculated in the media.
6. Ijaw and Igbo communities in Yenagoa live peacefully with each other and there's a very high level of mutual respect for each other between the two groups.
7. Things are currently back to normal. Everybody has gone about their business and the matter has been left for the law enforcement to fish out the criminal so he can face justice. God bless you for this. Most Nigerians are just too gullible. The media has indeed blown this out of proportion. No single picture online of Igbo traders attacked and their properties destroyed in this present time and age when we have cheap camera phones all around. If care is not taken the media will start the war that will divide this country |

What one intends to build and that person's pocket is a major determinant.. So at the end of the day it all boils down to "cutting one's coat according to the material available". |

Investment › Re: Two Major Factors That Killed/are Killing MMM by vanvick247(m): 12:20am On Dec 26, 2016 |
2rutalk1: From empirical evidence, there are two major factors that are seriously affecting the longevity of MMM. As an Economist, I took time to study the Pyramid scheme called MMM and I discovered two major mistakes made by the proponents.
1. The use of Guiders - This is the major factor that is killing/has killed MMM today. Some Guiders I know have over 500 participants under them and they are paid referral bonus on them. The questions is, from whose money are these bonuses paid? MMM is not an interest generating scheme, so the huge amount of money these Guiders make every month are paid from people's donation. With this, the sustainability of the scheme is very slim. So the use of Guiders should be stopped with immediate effect.
2. At this critical stage of MMM, the best survival strategy is for the organizers to adopt a method whereby you have to provide help on or before the day you are eligible to get help. And the amount to be provided should not be lower than the initial help rendered. With this, you can only trade/spend the interest in your capital. This will ensure the sustainability of the scheme.
Should MMM adopt these two measures IF it finally comes back by January, the propensity for the scheme's survival will be high. Exact method GHW is using and in my humble opinion I think they are the best. |

In the parable of the talents, which dealt with the Final Judgment, Jesus told of three stewards. A rich man puts them in charge of his money. Then he leaves town. On his return, he requires an accounting. One steward had multiplied his five talents by two to one. The second had multiplied his two talents by two to one. The third had buried his coin in the ground, which he returned to the owner. Here was the response of the owner, who is symbolic of God on judgment day.
Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 25:27-30). If charging interest were not legitimate, why would Jesus have used the example of money-lending as a legitimate way to increase capital? Why would He have attributed to God such words of condemnation for not having lent at interest? |
