Now that the south has been successfully divided along religio-tribal boundaries. The west may favour Tinubu because he is "our brother" and the east will rally around Obi. In addition, fanatical Muslims in the south will not mind the Muslim- Muslim tickets, but majority of christians will sentimentally cast their vote against APC.

While, many people may consider Tinubu's choice a misfire, I think otherwise. There are several reasons but three will suffice.

First, considering Buhari's religio-ethnic bias, he will must likely be in support of a Muslim-Muslim tickets, and with all the power under his control he may influence the dynamics in favour of Tinubu. Secondly, (I just got to know about this recently) there are more Muslim than christians in Nigeria (let's not talk about, how they tend to be more united in pursuit of an objective than the christians in Nigeria- as they say, "conspiracy binds them together", if APC are able to play their religious card well, it may work out for their good. Lastly, with the votes in the christian populated south divided, the voting of the North may tilt the numbers in Tinubu's favor.

The other side to this is that, the north can decide to rally around their own, and with only a little contribution from the south, Atiku wins.

I am most awed by the optimism being displayed by the OBI-dient group. I can't imagine that anyone in Nigeria still believe the system will accommodate what is ideal. Let's join them in prayers.

As it appears, however it turns, it is a win-win for the North. As far as they are concern, southerns and Christians have ruled the country for 16 years (they consider Umaru Musa's tenure more or less as GEJ's first term in office) and it is time for them to have their hold on power.

I am sure the president don't spend a penny from his salary on food, clothing, accommodation or anything.
