Why don't you Google...you're just got mobile money now...Kenya had it 13yrs ago. There is almost nothing you cannot do in Kenya.
Your central bank said otherwise.

""The benefits of “wallet-to-wallet” interoperability to customers will be immediate and significant. Customers wishing to transfer money across networks will avoid the cost and inconvenience of needing to reload or withdraw money through network agents. Customers’ mobile wallets will reflect funds immediately these are received, regardless of the network from which these funds are sent. Customers will also be able to withdraw the money in their wallets from the agents on their network, as is currently,” the statement from the Kenya Central Bank said.

I came in when you guys were talking about bank and mpesa link in transactions.

Hope we good now. cool
Generally there is no system that support transfer of money from phone wallet to bank account in Kenya. that was the bane of discussion.

be sincere and tell us, can you transfer money right from your phone wallet to your bank account or any of your care one account supposing you want to give them money and they have no phone wallet apart from bank account or can your boss transfer money from his bank account to your phone wallet directly

I don't know how your M-banking works but here is kenya, paybill does not necessarily mean paying your bills.. grin
That's the approach for cash transactions especially if you want to deposit.

Lemme give you more options.
English has the same meaning everywhere. Your platform you show me here does not indicate transfer of payment from bank to telecoms or vice versa.

Tell that to Shma2020, he said you guys have mpesa only grin grin grin
it is only mpesa who tried to managed with equity bank to settled payment of bills. all other telecoms provider are on their own . infact if you are not using mpesa in Kenya, you are liable not to enjoy mobile money transaction. it is so bad and poor .

Aitell money to bank is impossible

Shma2020:
Not true. I use Kcb(Kenya commercial bank) and my daily transactions routeen is through mpesa.. Most of the time I feel lazy to visit ATM so mpesa is more easier both in depositions and withdrawals..

For other banks, I guess they have special paybill number where you can still use mpesa to deposit cash.
You see the financial information on the mpesa platform does not indicate how fund can be transferred into banks or bank funds to wallet

and about paying bills , it is just a miniature of what we are talking about .

what we are simply saying is ability to send money via your mobile wallet directly to your own bank account and vice versa .

let me give you a better screen shot of the technology we enjoy in Ghana.

i keep telling you your telecoms are working in silos. is mpesa the only telecoms in Kenya? is it the only industry that that has the ability with specific bank like equity?

Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by vaxx: 6:44pm On Mar 20, 2021
Shma2020:
Not really. if it's about "only paying bill" then you're now in agreement that individual's transaction can be made via mpesa.

MPesa performs nearly everything as far as cash transaction is concerned.
what we scrutinized about your country is simple. the telecoms industry are working in silos . mpesa only share that ability with equity bank and that means it is impossible with any bank apart from equity .

It is impossible for me to send money from my airtel wallet in Kenya to my bank account .

You must be usinng Glo then and it's the reason why it services aint used.

All the other internet providers provide better speeds that Sarficom cant match
have you noticed MTN has stop selling paper credit
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by vaxx: 6:29pm On Mar 20, 2021
Shma2020:
Vax, that is not true.

M-banking links mpesa account hence you can easily transfer money from your bank to your mpesa account and vice versa.
we scrutinized this earlier, we realised it was simply meant to pay bills not individual account .

rvp20182:
Interop was long rolled out - and it pretty useless because again MPESA is like 99% of mobile money. People have Mpesa line even if they use Airtel.
Yet in Kenya, where mpesa dominate the market , it is impossible to transfer money from my own mobile wallet to my bank account.

MPEsa is still lagging behind

This is about affordability (price) and not about internet speed,so kenya internet is still not a joke if its faster......The fact that glo offer cheaper data packages compared to mtn doesn't mean the former has a better network......beside, this is the same poster that confirms mpesa to be light years ahead of mtn momo which you've been arguing against.
i have not been to kenya to ascertain how true is the statement but the very video blogger himself said the speed wasn't quite impressive in some certain area while it is good in some certain area . and about the cost , he was of the opinion , it was way way higher. in fact , he uxtapose the price in the video.
.
he was even arguing if it is possible safaricom can come borrowed MTN Ghana policy on how successful Ghana internet and data has become.

Nigeria allowed Banks instead of Telcoms to run mobile money. Yes they badly need it but don't expect miracles. The money supply will not increase. The velocity and ease of transaction will improve - and yes banking/financial services will be better.
Nigeria MTN has recently been given the go-ahead to start , it was launch last two years( i actually don't know why it is yet to rolled out) the money supplied will increased tremendously because most of the market woman and other small scale traders like the water seller , wheel barrow pusher , bus conductor, fishermen etc. will automatically used the system and that will.add to the money circulating within the economy. formally
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by vaxx:
rvp20182:
What interoperability are you talking about when M-pesa command 99% of the market share.
When banks have their own M-PESA called PESALINK - doing billions of transactions.
Equity Bank have their own Telcom company - Equitel - with SIM SWAP - and run their own mobile money on top of it.
When you bank transfer in kenya through RTGS happen almost instantly
When you can clear most cheques the same day
When you banking agent in kenya is Africa leading by far - nearly every M-pesa agent is also a bank agent smiley

When it come to mobile money/finance/banking - kenya long crossed 100% mark. Ghana you're just at 50% banking access.

There is nothing more to be done honestly.

And you're babies. Tell MOMO to even release an API smiley - and open huge possibilities.

Heck you cannot even do online mpesa transaction.
what are you actually saying . in Ghana we have what we called GHIPPS. go learn about it. registering on mobile money here means having a bank account . you can automatically do the same of what you will do with your bank account with your your mobile wallet. nothing again .

Though i agreed that Kenya has been able to roll out a similar thing, but Kenya has only been able to roll the interoperability between telco and telco but has not been able to roll out the bank to mobile wallet transactions, therefore making Ghana’s to be superior to Kenya. simple

Poverty capital has no such money. Mobile Money doesn't create new money. Total Bank assets in Nigeria now is 100B - kenya is at 45B.
most of many millionaire in Nigeria don't have their own bank account. the informal setting of saving money is still widely used

.having their account as phone number will fast track many Nigerians to automatically become a bank account owner. then you will see the difference between 6 and half a dozen
