Because they are the original custodians of lands and this position has been recognized by every constitution in Ghana since 1880.

grin grin

Our constitution protects those rights and will not surreptitiously take over the land of the people and hand them over to 2 families.

That is thievery and it is colonial in nature.
The queen of England took over all Kenyan lands as hers and when she was leaving, greedy idiots* like the kenyatta and the Moi's stole it all to make it their own.
The dude is asking a backward question, in United kingdom which is regarded as one of the developed country runs a similar system . the lands , oceans and the fishes in them are owned by the queen .

Theories compared to 80% community land ownership smiley Anybod can spin nonsense but the facts are stubborn; You remain a communist backwater.
Your country remain a birth right of kenyatta and moi family forever. This stupidity can't happen in Ghana. we don't run klepotocracy here.

when Ghana was fully democratized, you were still a British puppet.

Yes we are mostly rural because we own land. We are not like you guys who are forced to go live in urban areas if you cannot stomach tilling the chief or the kings land - and sharing the proceeds. The same way Boer has forced south africans to township after grabbing all the fertile land.
Your country is largely rural because you are villagers, the few city land that are available are shared by Persia traders and your kleptocrazy government who owns about 70 percent of them the unproductive ones are for you villagers to drabble on.

Your rural living lifestyles is associated with your high unemployment.

You know ya lying there...where do you think kenyans live..its not like we have chiefs holding our nuts to survive
The original owner of your city state lands are Arabs or persia traders who settled there for business . Most of Kenya’s population is rural and majority of the Kenyans lives in scattered settlements,

Why are you repeating this to me?

I already know them and have said it to you.

Communism is so riff in Kenya such that kenyan oligarch like the Moi's and Kenyatta, and foreigners have acquired all the lands in Kenya Making every kenyan poor because they cant own land.

That is seriously despotic grin grin
You just made mention of the two largest landlord in Kenya follow by the foreigners who owns the largest tea farm.

There is a reason Kenya government act rudely whenever it comes to land dispute. moi and kenyatta land must be protected.

You don't make sense despite wasting a lot of word. Let stick to COMMUNIST Ghana - as for Kenya - you're completely wrong.

Communism 101

Most land in Ghana is not owned by private entities. A large portion of properties in Ghana is held by various stool lands, families or clans. These are the Allodial owners. The remaining areas, approximately 20%, are held as public lands and made up of state and vested lands. Before buying property, you need to conduct a thorough and independent check to see who owns the land you wish to purchase.

In [s]Ghana, one does not buy land outright, but one has a lease it for a set period of time. Foreigners have a leasehold basis of up to 50 years, while Ghanaians are entitled to a leasehold of up to 99 years. Before you undergo the process necessary to purchase a property, make sure you have verified who owns that land and that you are purchasing from the correct owner.[/s]
Anybody can buy and owns land in Ghana so far you have the money. the only land not permitted to buy her natural endowed land controlled by the state.

this is not Kenya where less than five percent of the citizens owns their own land . your klepotocracy government kenyatta already owns all.

expect more robust data plan from tigo as government plan to absorbed the network soon . MTN remain the most expensive network because it has spend more on infrastructure compare to others . Vodafone is not doing bad anyway .

Kenya is mostly freehold; a few leasehold; and community land in some parts of undeveloped kenya.
Ghana is mostly community land.

Kenya freehold works because whoever has the title deed is the absolute and conclusive owner. There is no chief or whoever to consult.
This is to show you the land area known as Ghana now was a kingdom. hence the ownership of land are vested with the chiefs , east legon is a town on its own in greater accra metropolitan with its own district and traditional council. this is to show you it is a large community not some kind of two by two you are trying to read up there. the population may be exceeding two hundred thousand and more .

and if I remember all lands in the United kingdom including the oceans and fish belong to the queen. therefore sophisticated and developed United kingdom also has similar law when it comes to land transfer from the real owner to the buyer.

Now so we don't do this again;

Example of Nairobi Upper high end houses: Karen, Old Kitusuru, spring valley, part of Lavington, Muthaiga.

Old kitusuru - houses in the estate are on 1 acre of land or more. Most are 2 acres and above - Land alone will set you at 2M dollar.

Majority has SQs for their staff that are better East Legon for their maids ,gardners and driver. Most people here have maybe 5-10 cars.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHbjb1RZFls

Muthaiga - these high end of Nairobi only old money live there - it simply unaffordable.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dbmr9umSPs8

Because of a little loosening of zoning laws - you'll find new Muthaiga, New Karen, etc to refer to less posh areas. OLD muthagai, kitusuru, etc refer to posh areas.
yet , your government is planning to empower your unemployed timid youth with wheelbarrow ... what a clause? .

in Ghana here, A just cocoa farmer in a very remote village can afford to have a modern house, cars and even have enough to send his kids to one of the best university abroad. he doesn't need to live in accra or in any of the porch houses to be confirm a millionaire.

east legon is an old colonial estate , it is not among top five richest neighbourhood of accra now. we have airport residential which will arguably knock down anything nai-roberry, there is tresaco vila , there is AU village , cantoment area etc...

@Bolded, I probably should have considered that before moving to Ghana. I really was unaware, although I had been given the assurance that things were not complicated(I should have been smart enough to know not to trust my Old man with information concerning such matters or at least did more research).

I was glad to meet vaax/vaxx here, but my efforts to reach him/her have failed. Would be great if I had known someone who passed through the same predicament as I now find myself in. No one to guide and advice me, such a drag!

I wake up every morning not knowing what to do. A terrible mistake that would delay my progress I guess. Well I had plan A and no Plan B. Plan A has failed now thanks to Corona and my dad's ridiculous money management habit.

Vaax, vaxx abeg oh how can I reach you now?? Somebody? Anybody? My cognitive capabilities have been crippled Allah. Lol.
ok for obvious reasons, I choose to remain anonymous but honestly i feel for you bro.

just send me a reliable email address. and let me write you immediately ....or perhaps WhatsApp contact .

pls I still prefer to remain anonymous, your case maybe an exception

Cuba to transfer COVID-19 vaccine technology to Ghana

The Cuban Government has offered to transfer technology on a COVID-19 vaccine, currently undergoing trial in that country, to Ghana through an agreement with the Ghanaian pharmaceutical industry.

Under the agreement, the Cuban Government will supply active pharmaceutical ingredients for the formulation, production and packaging of the vaccine in Ghana.
.

this should be the kind of technology transfer we should be expecting at this critical moment

I cannot vouch for its taste or potency, since I gave up alcohol many years ago, but I can say that the Made in Ghana and beautifully packaged “Apio”, I have recently seen, can compete in the most sophisticated markets in the world,” - His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

I would appreciate some figures.
check out WHO website's Ghana nurses to patient ratio "

We have close to about 90 health training institutions that churn out over 22,000 nurses annually. they are all to be employed and if Ghana continue employing them into the system as it currently does without exporting them. I belive in the next five years, Ghana hospitals may be full with nurses that she don’t need. so logically, it makes sense to export them . so that they can also bring hard currency for the continue growth of the economy .

It's their ticket out of Ghana. Just like Nigerian doctors. How many are in Ghana...and how many have left.

There are about 52,258 individuals currently formally working in the health sector in public, CHAG, private, Islamic Missions, quasi-government and other organizations in Ghana.

Kenya has 170,000 health proffesional in public sector alone.
You are yet to meet the WHO requirement on nurses to patient ratio . that is the obvious fact and Ghana here has already exceed the limit . your ranting remain baseless.
there is what is called bilateral relations for diplomacy, just like Ghana receive Chinese and other foreigners, Ghana already stretched his hand to also help her neighbours who needed some support. That is the significant thing

Ghana took inventory of the types of nurses they needed and we said to ourselves: ‘we can let go some quantity that will not harm the system that we have. so nothing bad in exporting nurses.

Independent power producers (IPPs) in Ghana have entreated the government to pay 80 per cent of the $1 billion owed them.

Electricity distributor, Kenya Power’s debt to its various power suppliers has hit a whopping KSh47.85 billion for the period up to June 2020. This includes KSh23.7 billion owed to KenGen, KSh19.48 billion owed to independent power producers, and another KSh4.67 billion to Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO).

In 2018, KenGen penalised Kenya Power KSh1 billion as interest on late payment after the expiry of the 60-day window beyond which the debt begins earning interest. By then, Kenya Power had owed KenGen KSh13.71 billion for more than 60 days while a further KSh694.63 million had remained unpaid for over a year.

In July last year, the electricity distributor announced plans to increase electricity prices by up to 20% and is already in talks with the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) regarding the same""
