Liberia didn't gain independence because it wasn't colonized. it was simply liberated as the first settlement of black Africans living in America.

You are simply a dimwit. The country just of recent alongside cote devoire determine the price of cocoa for the whole world and you foolishly says it has no strategic importance.

historically, Ghana has a history for been the first in anything tangible in sub Saharan Africa. the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to free herself from colonialism; the first sub-Saharan African country to achieve the goal of halving poverty, as contained in Goal 1 of the Millennium Development Goals (United nations)and the first country in Africa to eliminate trachoma. Etc

If any sub Saharan African country will fully developed today. don't be surprised it will be Ghana first.

Well most countries unlike Ghana I see, wink Don't feel threatened by "coups". The only thing this demonstrates is how fragile Ghana and it's citizens are. grin All is not so well in Ghana if there's guns aimed at your presidents head.
You have a very warped idea of thinking. if there is any nation that seems fragile ( definitely not Ghana) What Ghana did was exceptionally brilliant and commendable. she just again increase her confidence in minds of citizens and investors that she is capable of securing herself and protect her inhabitant.

A fragile state is state that consider critique to the presidency a crime( freedom of speech) or holding a religious leader in detention despite court order ( lack of rule of law and nonchalant attitude to human right).

we all know which country is this ..... i don't need to write names.....

Ghana former president educate Donald trump.... ( pres John mahama)

"The future belongs to Patriots, not to globalists". - President of the USA, Donald Trump

I listened closely to the US President's address at the 74th UN General Assembly. The above in quotes caught my attention. It obviously spells out, clearly, President Trump's world view.

He believes that the world's future belongs to people who are patriotic to their nations rather than those who think globally and uphold a multilateral world order. Patriotism refers to love of country and putting loyalty to national interests above all else. Globalism is the notion of having a common global village in which decisions are made multilaterally through collaboration of nations, great and small.

I am sure that one can be both a patriot and a globalist, and I dont believe the two concepts are exclusionary. I love my country, but my country would not exist without our planet, our globe.

While we pursue our national interest, we must also subsume our national interest to global coexistence, peace, security and environmental sustainability.

Without global cooperation, there would have been no Climate Change Agreement. Without global cooperation there would have been no MDGs. Without globalism, there would be no Sustainable Development Goals. Without global cooperation there would be no Nuclear non-proliferation treaty and many more.

The Nazis could be said to be patriotic based on their warped view of national interest at the time. The Khmer Rouge were patriots based on their blood-thirsty definition of Cambodia's national interest. Apartheid South Africa was the definition of patriotism for those who believed the national interest was served by a race segregated society.

If every country puts its defined national interest above all else, what a chaotic world order we would have. It is love of country and unbridled patriotism that led us to two world wars. The multilateral global world order has maintained a relatively peaceful world for more than 70 years now.

In any case the platform on which the Trumpian doctrine of patriotism over globalism was delivered yesterday, was a global one, and is one created by the world's greatest global institution, the UN.

1952, UK based physicist Narinder Singh Kapany invented the first actual fiber optical cable based on John Tyndall’s experiments three decades earlier. Thirteen years later in 1965 two British research scientists, Charles Kao and George Hockman working with Standard Telephones and Cables discovered that attenuation of fiber optics was caused by impurities in manufacturing.

Legon keep representing and making africa proud.

Ghanaian and final year student of the University of Ghana, Owen Odonkor Adantey came second globally in one of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA)’s flagship Professional level papers- The Strategic Business Leader (SBL).

He beat off competition from over 10,000 students who sat for the paper across the world in the June 2019 exams.

The announcement was made during the recently held ACCA Annual Students’ Summit and Employability Fair at the Accra international Conference Centre.

ACCA’s Strategic Business Leader (SBL) is a four-hour case study that mirrors the workplace and provides trainees with real world challenges allowing them to demonstrate a blend of technical, practical and professional skills.

Speaking after receiving the award, Owen Odonkor Adantey could not hide his emotions. The multiple award winner said “the announcement came as a surprise. I didn’t expect to do that well. It’s simply one of the best experiences of my life - one of the greatest moments in my life. The feeling was good”. Prior to receiving this Owen had picked up the award for the Top Performer in Ghana for Strategic Business Reporting in the March 2019 exams as well as Financial Management in the March 2018 exams sitting.

More than 1300 individuals participated in the event.

The Summit featured an employability fair with 25 employers and Learning Providers who offered job opportunities, internships, as well as CV and career guidance.

Additionally, there were employability masterclasses on Digital Skills with Google and Creating a Winning CV & Linkedin ran by Jobberman.

The event featured industry captains like Kenneth Thompson (Chief Executive Officer of Dalex Finance), Anthony Sarpong (Country Partner KPMG), Kwabena Antwi Situ (Associate Director, Business Solutions- Deloitte), Audrey Naa Dei Kortey (Managing Partner – AudreyGrey), William Armah (Principal, Duke Williams Ltd), Philip Twum (Senior Associate, KPMG) and George Njari (Africa Regional Head of Education- ACCA) who shared their insights and expertise in the areas of Digital and Partnerships through panel discussions and presentations.

In all, 52 ACCA Trainees were awarded for sterling performances in the past four ACCA Exams sittings.

The Annual Summit was sponsored by MTN, PwC, Deloitte and Databank. Other Partners were KPMG, African Internship Academy, Benchmark Executive Business School, Bolt, DEK, DukeWilliams, E Kofi Annan Institute, Global Heritage Professional Training Center, Harley Reed, HireGhana, Jobberman, NSS, SIC, UHY Voscon, Wineloya (Google Digital Skills for Africa) and Standard Chartered Bank.

Lol.you are very good at shifting goal post but sorry bro not today..without wasting much time allow me Bring you back to your original statement earlier which I refuted with a simple NL screenshot grin grin

A well thorough explanation on the purpose of jamb and post utme . they are simply ranking criteria not admission qualification.

Seeing what you've said shows you clearly lack knowledge on how admissions are handled in Nigeria and you have another screenshot below refuting what you said.

This is the latest I guess, you saying it is easy to get admission in igbinedion is just funny....of course why won't it be easy..is it not a private unis? Private unis are looking for customers and wouldn't mind if you had 30 in jamb (jamb will not allow this, that's the reason Jamb CAPS exists). You are saying UI and UNILAG is competitive, oh yes they are and so are other govt institution. I used to think some federal school's (most especially those one that were built recently during Jonathan era e.g Funai, fuoye, futuoke) was easy to get untill I recently saw one candidate lamenting(right here on NL) on our he surpassed the generally accepted cutoff mark that makes you eligible to be considered for admission but failed to hit his departmental cutoff but still he was optimistic that he would be given since he felt the school was not competitive plus he hails from the east..My guy he shock this guy that he did not see the name of the school itself to come and study as a course sef. grin grin (this happened in Funai, a 7 year-old institution)

You are mentioning unijos but you forget that there is this officialize pattern of tribalism that goes into issuing admission...UNILAG will consider any Yoruba guy that did not hit the cutoff first before looking into another tribe ,unijos , ABU will never leave their Hausa brother and come and pick a Yoruba or an igbo candidate.lasu is even the worst, once you are from Lagos just get ready your chances of getting into that school is very high..if you ask
them the reason for this, they will look for a good word to paint it , for instance they Will call it CATCHMENT AREAS...
See dude getting admission in Nigeria is very hard if you cannot read and scale through series of exams and also be smart at the same time. Not everyone can go through this and the next bustop is always ghaana..

Oh my gawd look at me that said I won't talk again, I have just written an entire newspaper...I pray I never reply this again grin grin
You actually lack the knolwedge Samorobo. I am not willing to cure this ignorance. once you know the purpose of jamb and post utme we may continue. may be you need to read what jamb director says concerning it. it is available online.

Also judging from your faulty thinking that hausa only benefit admission in ABU zaria says it all ( Go check the state that constitute ABU zaria catchment area) I actually mean it when I said you guys don't know how to check simple jamb brochure. it is 19 northern state scatter all around the major northern geopolitical zones and that include Birom , TiV , egbira and some Yoruba groups in this category.

And again, either private or public both of them are regulated by one body and that is NUC. infact some private unis in nigeria have a better accreditation standing than many public unis for example, uniabuja a public school have most of her courses unaccreditted. Public uni will have more student even if it is one year old, public schools are hugly subsided ( particularly federal schools) hence competitive to a high fee paying private uni of10 years old.

Most of you guys are very ignorant and this does not exclude you ( The main reason many of you end up been swindle) You know nothing to zero about your own educational system. it all show in your write up.

No need to talk to much.below is a fellow crying on nairaland and what he said sums up all I have been talking about and refute what I embolded in your post
This is because most of you lots Nigerians are not conversant with information. some of you don't even know how to study common jamb brochure or check out pending admission opportunity thru school websites. I remember last five years, i was printing post Utme slip for unijos candidate at the rate of 100 naira . the candidate were so ignorant that they don't know how easy it is to print. and I cash on that opportunity to make my cool money for two days of the post utme screening exercise.

UI And Unilag are competitive school( they are not even big enough to admit more )chances of been taking for medicine is very slim. tell the dude to try igbinedion in okada. he has a far better chance . if it is about money , he should try Abu zaria that is if he comes from the catchment area .

Intelligent Nigerians that schools in Ghana are the ones your country come chasing after , after we must have dumped them and you come picking our sloppy second..a perfect example would be this
You sound more ignorant. city academy is 100 percent for foreing student. I can bet you with my two balls , you will not find a single Ghanaian there. it is a mixture of full bloody Nigerians and French student. Ghanaian will never chase a Nigeria school not even if he is enrol on scholarship.

The Nigerians ending to Ghana are well to do people. Ghanaian university are now like UK schools to Nigerians, they are there last month scouting for rich Nigerians student just like how UK schools do .

city academy only want to attract more Nigerians student ( it good raking in hard currency)You give a student a scholarship. it attract more student and the school become more popular. that is the strategy. BBC already popularize the school in Nigeria .

I know I said I won't reply you on this but allow me chip this in a bit..there is no sense in leaving a competitive school for a schools like Eksu, Kwasu except if you have been denied admission severally and you are really desperate to get in at all cost then you chose a less competive school like Eksu or Kwasu or better still ship your olodo ass to Ghana to school and Pay more in either Kwasu, Eksu or Ghana unis.

And yes I am not continuing with this cos I can't stand your ignorance, you are just running circles as thenchanter said earlier...I thought I could save but obviously I can't
At least saying EKSU is less competitive compounded your delusion. let the guy you keep mentioning be . he will only compound your ignorance.

Nigerians schooling in Ghana are well to do people( Not every Nigerians can enjoy the benefit). even your state goverment recognised this. some of the student on their scholarship faced some difficulty some years back. they failed to keep paying up a simple Ghana private uni. that should tell you something.( something impossible in Ghana). no ghanaian with ghana background will dream of schooling in Nigeria talkless of the whole goverment sponsoring student there.

I don't think I can continue with this argument cos I don't see the point in it.

It's doesn't change our system admission
It's doesn't stop CU and UI from being the leading unis in West Africa, east Africa, and central Africa.

So to summarise it for you, you can pass your o'level, jamb ,post jamb and still not get admitted if you don't meet your departmental cutoff mark.
Any other means you are using to pursue admission outside jamb still pose a 50/50 chance be it any of the following

Diploma, jupeb, ijmb, predigree, nice..infact using ijmb, nce, jupeb is even the worst because they barely admitted up to ten candidates since that department already has student that has been admitted and you will be joining them in 200l/300l.. shikena.

Peace out
It is better you don't continue. there a lot of assumption in your part.

No Nigeria school is ranked ahead of legon both by QS and webometric. the only university ranking organization that did is THE.

There is no need to meet up with the departmental cut off point before getting admission. there are less competitive school you can get admittion with 140 mark in jamb.

Predegree candidate has better option than jamb candidate. Diploma graduate has a better choice . starting from year two is a clever idea with certificate included . . ijmb and the other option you mention are the other lazy options i didn't not even include.

bottom line . education is cheap and flexible in nigeria. only olodo complain

Lol even Kwara state uni also have their own criteria which exclude jamb. simply wassce. I can tell you more than five diffrent option. guy, i am in this field for quite number of years before i stop. so I understand the nitty gritty of the subject.

Diploma options is far better option as it catapults you into the second year and at the same a certificate awarded.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by vaxx:

[/quote]We are not agreeing on one thing cause you are wrong
let's see who is making the obvious mistake here.

And are you are aware that a diploma course is two years 200l and the probality of getting admission is still a 50/50 chance.same thing can be said for predicted except that one is 1 year 100l
You simply want to argue here. An average grade of diploma will get you a university degree . in many cases NCE will even guaranty you into a full degree program in this case , jamb form is simply symbolic option. and the beautiful part. you are starting from 200.

Lol chanter this are one of those reason I have not left him sooner. This is simply ignorance speaking. Hello jamb has been singing this 140 general cutoff mark since time immemorial but not one single school has obliged, not even Polytechnic...just go to those school admission requirements and see for yourself
Almost every upcoming private uni have 140 as cut off point. and to know how popular is this. you only need to visit less competitive school.

It's appears to me that Ghana admission process is way more simpler than I thought
Yet you can't argue it. it is not just about submission. Admission is too cheap in nigeria. reasons are up there. if you can't be admitted in your school of choice , run their pre degree . Your chances of admission become more faster and double than jamb candidate.

Bottomline is that any Nigeria that goes there to school is simple an OLODO that can not study and make it to Nigerian uni
Again, this simply is not a point. education is flexible in Nigeria and those who end up coming to Ghana are those who dream of a better life and wanted to enjoy the prestige record Ghana education has birth for herself.
