Joonana:i dont only lived in GHANA. my grand dad owns a building in accra city center. makola. ghana is not as expensive as you think. if you are working and leaving you will find it average.germany is very expensive if you come here for the first time. but you enjoy it as ttime goes on. |
uzzyfire:the population size is not a good excuse. use china as a case study. ghana GDP is just a little above lagos state. butt they are able to maintain good electricity ,education that even attract the westerner. good road connection. highest flyover in west africa. and above all . good policing system |
from my own personal observation. Ghanians and Nigerians are not treated the same in Germany. germans prefer ghana commodity than nigeria. they think everything from us is fake. the last time i was in ghana i boarded a public transport(tro-tro)with some americans.they feel at home and more secured. the white actually prefer to do business in ghana but choose nigeria becuse of her ballon population size. |
GrandFinale2017:that will be a sorry case |
shervydman:trully speaking. if ghanian are proud of the university of ghana .it worth it. it beat up any nigeria university by any standard. more international student and more infrastructure. dont give me website ranking. i will not accept it. i have been to both university of ibadan and ghana. i must tell you. UI is lagging behind. but this is not applicable to all ghana universities. |
Of late, the grievances raised about our education system are on the increase. The future of an ordinary nigerian child has been left in the sky floating like 'a lost kite'. In this article. I will ponder on some whims and caprices of the Nigeria Education System, specifically the examination bodies as well as some formidable solutions to these problems.Sometimes I wonder if Nigeria is even a member of the Commonwealth Community because nothing shows. Our credentials are viewed with squeezed eyes and less worth all because of the emanation of the credentials-Nigeria. UK, US and most of the European countries do not even regard our WASSCE results amidst the leaks and incredibility around the exams. Are we going to sit for the incompetency of these Examination Bodies ruin the future of the ordinary Nigeria child?I strongly believe UTME OR JAMB is playing chess' with the future of our students. i sigh,I grief and I strongly sob that UTME is failing us and we need an alternative.Even with a genuine UTME and WAEC credential, one would still need to write other so called internationally accepted exams such as TOEFL,SAT, GRE, etc before one could gain admission overseas and yet Nigeria could proudly hit its dancing belly and say it is a Commonwealth Nation. To me,I strongly believe nigeria is an African nation and for that matter must live as one.Vis-a-vis the aforementioned problem. I believe that the solutions to these persistent problems are as follows:*All secondary schools in the country should conduct its own final exams alongside with WAEC.such that after a child has completed his or her seniour High Education,he or she would sit for such e two exams and would there of be admitted into the university with both result just like in the usa Furthermore,I think UTME should not enjoy the monopoly it has enjoyed for the past years.I plead unto the reputable authorities thus the Ministry of Education to set up another Examination Council which would consist of our notable great Educationists from the Tertiary Institutions.I strongly trust and believe that an Examination Body headed by our reputable Professors and Doctors in Education would not experience anything like leakage of examination papers.*Lastly, all Universities and other third cycle institutions in the country should conduct its own Entrance Exams to avoid over dependence on the UTME results as the only criterion for admission. I am a corncern citizen i plead on anyone who could forward this to do so till it gets to the real implementer and seeker of relief for the ordinary Nigeria Child. |
human want can never be satisfy. getting addicted to what you like is part of us as human. if it is food, you crave for more , if it is football. you will never wish a day is free.if it is song track u will want to repeat the track and listen again and again.therefore being addicted is part of what make us as human. |

Lakeside2134:oga relax. berlin and london are one of the most expensive city in europe. germany is not cheap. if you live in berlin you are likely to spend like someone who is in london. germany visa process is more difficult than uk. third in the world. after swizz and usa. i repeat again UK university is easy and flexible. you can even allow the university to do the process for you. yours is to appear for the visa interveiw without stress. my friends in university of greenwich and leeds were formely interested in germany not uk but they were denied. uk is the only option. so simple so far you have the cash. i am not discouraging anyone as i said in my former post.it is my wish i can force nigeria goverment to force german embassey to relax their student visa process. the only way nigerians are entering germany is through asylum means.and there is stop on that now |
Pweedycutie:there is no harm in trying. give it a try |
Lakeside2134:am currently a student of HOCHSCHULE FUR ANGEWANDTES in the state of bavaria in erding province germany. so i am not a novice of german academic system. you are likely to spend almost the same amount with a uk student. i repeat uk univetsity is cheap and easy. follow UCAS AND PAY YOUR DUES. even some uk university has special arrangment with the consulate making the process become fast as possible. not all uk university charges up to 9000 pounds. |
be ready to spend 10.000 dollars per semester in germany if you are willing to study there. your accomodation and feeding allowance inclusive. to get admission to german public university is hard as their visa process. am not here to discourage you but just to let you know few of the obstacle ahead when you begin the german process. lightrays:first of all. your undergraduate degree can not equate master. a master degree will contain nothing less than 120 pages in thesis writting. so back to your question. B EMT OR BSC EMT. which is better. agree both are all under the same convene. they are equal but not similar. the former require intense pratical alongside research while the later is much liberal and research focus. at the end of the day both will be given the same recognition. my question. which mode of instruction do you follow? the former or the later. if it is the former then stick to it. if it is the later. end up with the progam and face nigeria ballon labour market.. well your admission letter is enough evidence in the court of law if you are much interested to seek for redress. |
Treasure17:Do i mention you will become a pastor or imam? not at all. the possible position you can occupy with this kind of degree is a councellor. tell me any professional position that equate your degree.for you to become a lecturer with this kind of degree , you will need further graduate study and your BA should have an education specialization. no tangible post for you base on nigeria labour market demand. |
i think is gonna be a waste of judicial exercise. no authentic document regarding this allegation.even no eye withness apart from the bible and other manuscript written by anonymous men. the romans who are good in record keeping failed to document jesus cruxi- fiction. |

Loyalblak007:this is not a lie. it is just motivation speech |
there was a cartoon movie about an angry graduate who returned to his former school and demanded to see the dean. The graduate handed over his degree certificate and graduation gowns to the confused dean, and demanded a cash refund of his school fees. His beef? The degree couldn't help him find a job three full years after graduating. So he wanted his money back!In order to make sure that cartoon does not become real in nigeria, we have to fix many things worrying our educational system. Here are solutions to three of them; Rising Fees These days, an increasing number of people are comparing getting an education to buying another commodity on the market. For such people, gone are the days where education was a higher value good that was pursued for its own benefit of enlightenment. People now do a cost- benefit analysis that measures the returns on schooling in purely financial terms.Whilst this line of thinking is flawed, economics can explain the logic. Whenever people have to pay what they judge to be expensive prices, they feel a greater opportunity cost. Consider a private university in adamawa state that charges the equivalent of 2 million naira (4,000 USD) for a year. Clearly, a struggling parent will think twice before spending that kind of money. But if the same school cost just 40 USD, the thinking twice doesn't even arise.A cost analysis of school fees reveals an interesting point. In other countries, schools spend heavily on fancy buildings, extravagant sporting facilities and coaches, entertainment events, and marketing. Comparatively, nigeria institutions are not as profligate, at least not yet. to solve this problem. anything universities can do to cut fees is welcome. In the short term, schools can start by cutting costs on items that do not have a direct bearing to teaching and learning. Over the longer term, they may explore creative ways offund raising such as getting donations from successful alumni, going into joint ventures with private companies, commercializing research work etc. With these, they do not have to burden students with strangling fees. This is also a good time for schools to take a second look at their content and make it more transformational. There is a saying that some people 'pass through the school, but the school does not pass through them'. Those are the kind of people who will show up one day to demand their refund. Career Direction When the information technology sector first opened in nigeria lot of smart young people went to study programmes in IT certification ccourses. including degree. they graduated with high hopes only to be crushed by a sad reality- yes, there were jobs in that sector, but the vacancies were mostly for the indians expatriate technician and not nigerians clever mind, no top management jobs either. It is sad to see qualified people become misfits because theytrained in the wrong subjects. This begs the question; Who advises our young people on careers? No oneTo solve this we need to take career and academic guidance more seriously. .Our schools need a solid counselling programme that advises young people right from the start of their programmes. Truth is, whether we admit it or not, there is an assumed agreement that when people undergo a tertiary education, they expect their chances of landing a job to increase. It is time for our universities to face this assumption and actually point our smart brains in the right direction, not just give them general training and dump them into the world. Graduate UnemploymentDegree inflation is when people need progressively higher qualifications to perform the same jobs they could have done with basic qualifications. There is a link between graduate unemployment and degree inflation. Decades ago, my parents could use just an A level or diploma to get an entry level assistant job in a decentcompany. Today, bachelor's and master's degree holders queue to interview for such jobs.It is now very rare to see people working in corporate nigeria without a diploma or degree. It doesn't matter if the job duties they perform actually require those qualifications. There is a simple explanation for this. The job market is a seller's market because there are way more job seekers than job creators. So the employers have more than enough to pick from. Months ago when jobsonline.com put out a job ad for 10 candidates, we got more than 400 applicants. In a seller's market, it is hard to blame employers for demanding higher qualifications.Let us be clear. The only permanent cure for unemployment among skilled people is entreprenuership.Other measures are simply first aid.Employers can administer one type of first aid if they ask applicants to show technical skills that prove competence instead of certificates that only prove course completion. For example, eight years ago, a leading telecoms company had a critical sever problem and needed computer programmers. They simply gave each applicant time to come and actually fix the problem. They got their solution and it didn't come from a computer science PhD holder. |
