What happened to the alloy wheels? I don't think this American spec (with fog lamps) comes originally with steel wheels. |

You can try LiveSpeech Coaching. Google it. They do private and group training (my company has worked with them in the past). They're rather expensive, though. |
Shugavee:You sound aggressive. Your submission is a pointer to why an increasing number of weddings are taking place, while an increasing number of marriages are falling apart. People will learn from experience when their time comes. All this talk about compatibility and marrying someone who lives a lifestyle that matches with yours, for the sake of it, is just hot air. So many new ingredients have joined the market in the last 2,000 years, but the basic ingredients of BREAD have remained the same. Likewise, a lot of *woke* ideas have infiltrated the thought processes of today's young people, but the formula for a successful marriage has barely shifted. Having a *bestie* of the opposite sex is a constant drag on trust. As a woman, you'd have your reservations; as a man you'd have your reservations. You can deny and say that you have none, but time will tell. It's human nature. Even God is jealous when we flex with other gods. There is a lifestyle (ever if both of you practice the same style) that inherently makes a lasting marriage hard to achieve. A wedding will happen, sure. But from Day Zero, the marriage already has an expiry date stamped on it...unless they change course afterwards, which is very hard to do post-marriage. People build on shaky foundations; people build on solid foundations. That you can see both buildings stand in your presence does not mean both foundations are equally desirable. Give them time; let the storms of life test them. You will see the difference. Children are the most underrated strain in a marriage. We romanticise having beautiful, cute children that we fail to properly account for the pressure that their arrival and presence places on a marriage. It takes effort to NOT let that be a difficult point. Remember, people print IVs, make noise, shoot pre-wedding photos, paint towns red, all ahead of a wedding. But nobody announces a separation or divorce. It is often a quiet affair. A lot of failed marriages crack even before the wedding day. They just take a few months -- or a few years -- for the cracks to break through. Once again: after 2,000 years and a multitude of modern ingredients, bread still has the same old basic formula. Marriage is no different. |
Damolux01:Buy the Matrix. The Toyota Matrix is an "improved" Corolla. You get ALL the benefits of a Corolla (they use the same engine, and share most of their parts in common) plus a bigger trunk/boot, 4WD option (Corolla is 2WD), and a higher profile on the road (Matrix looks like a baby SUV). On top of all that, the Matrix is much less common on the road, and in 2019, where nearly all Corollas on the road are Uber / Bolt cars, people won't think you're an Uber driver! ![]() Only downside is that the Matrix is SLIGHTLY costlier than the Corolla. Only slightly. Check prices and compare. Fun Fact: The official name for the Matrix (in Toyota's books) was actually Toyota Corolla Matrix, a pointer to the fact that the Matrix was a direct derivation of the Corolla. The Matrix was discontinued in 2014, but continues to hold very strong resale value. Buy the Matrix! |
shaggy007:Your submission implied a direct and immediate threat to the tranny if dipstick is pulled while engine is off. You didn't clarify how the threat manifests. Some readers might have been confused. Cheers. |
Mryacks:False. Best way is to follow manufacturer's instruction. Fluid check procedures may vary slightly from model to model, year to year, and brand to brand. Always check what the manual says for your own vehicle. I can't scream this loud enough. ![]() |
shaggy007:Two issues here: 1 - Most manufacturers have their own methods for checking their transmission fluids. Some say: Bring the vehicle up to operating temperature. Stop the car (on level ground, of course). Cycle through all the gears. Put it in P. Then check dipstick. Instructions vary. Always follow what your manual says. 2 - I seriously dispute the idea that you could damage your transmission, if you pull the dipstick when the engine is OFF. The only real threat I see there is the potential to misread the fluid level (which will always be wrong in this case), and fail to properly gauge the oil level, either thru overfilling or underfilling, leading eventually to a breakdown. |
Godspower35:Correction, please: the transmission fluid does not just "keep the transmission lubricated". The fluid itself is part of the working mechanism of the transmission function. So, it's purpose goes well beyond lubrication (and cooling) of moving parts, which, to me, is even a secondary function. The process of changing gears requires the buildup of fluid pressures to operate the necessary actuators. (There are figures to those pressures and they factor into the benchmark specs that go into diagnosing the health of a tranny etc.) In comparison, engine oil plays little to no role in the core function of your engine (combustion into rotary motion). However, when so equipped, some engines use oil pressures to activate/engage certain mechanisms such as valve timing & lift (VVTL) to change the cam profile (e.g. from high performance to lower performance profiles). This "functional" role of the engine oil is somewhat similar to, but much less significant, to the role the transmission fluid plays in the tranny. In the tranny, the fluid is not just a lubricant, it is mission critical! Bottomline: you could fool around with engine oil type (synthetic or mineral), weight (20W-50 or 5W-20), quality, and dipstick levels and PROBABLY get away with it. The tranny is much less tolerant of fluid abuse of any form. Never joke with your tranny fluid, because it is actually part of the transmission itself! |
deafeyez:Don't let CNN continue to feed you with such rubbish about Russia. The Russian healthcare and education systems rank very high in the world. Russia is a technologically highly developed, and second most powerful, nation on earth. Are you not aware of the health insurance and doctors appointment problem in America itself? Why is it such a big topic during US elections? Corruption is everywhere. American media just like to talk about the corruption in OTHER nations than the one in their own, especially when those other nations are their geopolitical rivals, particularly Russia. Russia is the world leader in nuclear technology (civil and military) and this floating nuclear power plant is something they've always had in the works. A floating power station was sent to Japan, following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power disaster back in 2011. It provided emergency electricity for the region under blackout. I bet you didn't hear about this on CNN, because that's not the kind of news they like to tell you about Russia. |
How much would land a 2010-12 Mitsubishi Outlander V6 to my doorstep? |
kaen1317:No sweat; there's something called Auto Insurance. ![]() Just pray that the Range Rover's repair bill is under N1 million, assuming the typical 3rd Party cover limit. |
dROC1:This is not peculiar to Range Rover. The front end of a car is "softer" and more delicate than its rear end. I have been rear-ended several times in a non-Range Rover vehicle, and I got off with only minor paint scratches. The culprits, however, had their bumpers, headlights, radiators/condensers, grills, and even bonnets, in one case, visibly damaged. Na me even come down dey tell them sorry! ![]() That's why I would prefer to be hit from behind, even at moderate speed, than for me to hit someone else from behind, even at low speed. Try hitting a lowly Corolla from behind, in your Range Rover, with a similar speed as the incident you described, and see whether you'd walk away with zero damage (hint: the Corolla will fare better than you). Guard your front end with all you have, and avoid frontal offset collisions at all cost (the deadliest type of impact). https://gearpatrol.com/2014/09/10/why-the-off-set-crash-is-one-of-the-most-deadly-auto-accidents/ |
