I understand you sir, but even in their speciality they do sir. For psychiatrist there are several post partum mental/psychological disorders that psychiatrist come across regularly, For the ENT same too sir especially in obstetrics emergencies where the newborn is having challenges with respiration or in-utero/congenital ENT conditions, same for the opthalmologist especially in in-utero/congenital eye conditions. My dear brother, as said earlier, every single course MBBS students are trained on or even during rotations are relevant to their speciality. If it wasn't, they wouldn't be trained in that area. What we are saying in a nutshell, is that you guys should be proud of what you do. Be proud that you save lives of people with oral carcinoma, cleft palate etc. Be proud that in Dental school, you where taught orthodontics, dental pathology etc. Open a thread and show the world why dentistry is the best course in the world without reference to MBBS, and I tell you, SgtPonzihater would be the first to congratulate you. For instance, as you've rightly said, I'm a Veterinarian. In Vet med school, we did a lot of courses similar to MBBS and even more, especially in surgery. Almost all the specialties in MBBS also have their Veterinary equivalent down to neurosurgery. But you'll never see me open a thread to gloat about the similarities, rather I opened a thread to show the UNIQUENESS of Veterinary Medicine to the world, and I got over 40,000 view and more than a thousand comments, with people seeking my Veterinary assistance in one way or the other. What we saying in conclusion is "Be proud of your dental profession without reference to MBBS" you'll never see an MBBS student say "we are similar to dental students because we did oral health under community medicine" Let it be same for dentistry too sir.
This is so apt

FamilyRe: Adoption Is Not Worth It At All by Vegan99: 12:29pm On Oct 01, 2022
I've seen adopted children who later grew up and became very substantial and important personalities in their respective fields. That your father's friend's adopted children became errant youngsters is a function of a number of factors like : parental upbringing, Peer-pressure, Environmental factors and a lot of other small characteristics that are easily neglected.

Even kids of pastors, imams, professors etc have been known to turn into hoodlums. My father always told me, that I should always pray for grace, patience and strength to train my children the right way. Training a well behaved child in this secular world full of all sorts of immorality isn't an easy feat.

Training a child is one thing, for that child to follow the foot steps you have laid is another thing entirely.

You can't simply place a stereotype on all adopted children because of one bad case you've encountered.

Children are and will always be a gift from God. We just need to pray to God to keep our children on the right path because we can't train them all by ourselves.
EducationRe: Cut Off Mark For Pharmacy In UNICAL And UNIZIK by Vegan99: 8:34pm On Sep 30, 2022
marimarempress:
Please can I study Pharmacy with Jamb score of 210 in either UNIZIK or UNICAL. I don't even know if UNICAL is offering Pharmacy. I know ASSU is on strike but I need to know my stance at the moment. Please someone should help.

According to Google, the cut off mark is 200 but I don't know if it's true.

I need help.
Pharmacy programme in the university of calabar is now accredited and has even been upgraded from B. Pharm to Pharm. D. This means you'll be awarded a doctorate degree in pharmacy when you graduate. Although they haven't graduated any set yet because they just began the pharmacy programme, Unical has a stable academic calendar and is a suitable and serene place to undergo your training in pharmacy. Unizik is also a great school too, I think it's entirely up to you to choose where you'd like to study.

Every school has it's up's and down's anyway but whatever you do, please choose a suitable and well accredited school for your pharmaceutical training.

I need advice now like maddd. ASUU strike is driving me crazyy. UI is my first choice but ASUU strike is delaying things here should I wait or put in any available school here? Jamb score is 351. Or make I just learn work de wait sad
If you are uneasy about the University of ibadan, then apply to Futa(fedeal university of technology akure) they just began their mbbs programme. Ask Eben331 for more info about futa's admission process. Then while you wait, Please learn a very convenient handwork. Something you can still do while you are in school, and make money from it.

You will reap the benefits of your handwork when you are finally admitted.

Alexaonfleek:
Okay...so this is my opinion

1. Toughness of a course is relative. Some people might find engineering harder than medicine and vice versa.
I think it depends on people's abilities generally. Some people have the brains for numbers and calculations, while others can memorise facts without forgetting them.
Medicine is not easy sha, the number of facts you'd have to learn and cram is something else.

2. It became complicated for me right from 200l.
One month, I was breezing through heat and temperature in physics like a boss, the next month I had to memorise innervation of about 40 muscles that supply the upper limb.
100l in Medicine is literally like a cruise year because you're familiar with most things that you're being taught, compared to 200l.

3. I don't quite understand your question here, but I'm taking it to mean that there are some similarities between medical courses and what you learnt in physics, chemistry and biology.
Well...to a small extent they are similar. Everyone who wrote jamb probably read about excretory system in biology, and you'd still see a bit of it in renal physiology. But in jamb syllabus, they wouldn't teach you how ADH helps to make urine concentrated or the fact that pudendal nerve gives somatic innervation to the urethral sphincter.
I heard its way more abstract in clinicals, but I haven't gotten there yet.

4. Very broad.
The human body is a very complex system as you can imagine. Even the simplest activities you do like eating has a pathway that MUST be studied.

5. Not really. Unless you count basic multiplication as part of it. Medicine is more about how much stuff you can memorise.

6. Even I don't know why there's so much hype around it. I think if I could go back in time with all the knowledge I have now, I might have chosen to study computer science and just be a tech sis.
Well, it's human lives we're talking about here. Medicine is primarily about saving human lives tho, and the hype is definitely worth it.
It's not easy trying to save something(life) which is so delicate and complex, something that a person only get once.
alexa! Abeg, update your diary so we can know what's going on with you na.
