Please house is there any need for police report for my SOWP application? I have not seen it anywhere though, just asking. Those who have submited and those who have gotten approval pls advise. Thank you. VEIL1234: HNY, I think that is about it as per cic forms. Kc4all: Happy New year to all. Good to be here, i have a question concerning CIC application forms. For those that apply through paper root, what are the CIC forms i need to apply with my daughter...i want to apply for SOWP while my daughter for visiting because she is still a toddler.
Apart from the work permit application form and family form, and visiting form for my daughter, what other CIC form do i need to apply with?
Thanks |

@ yettyopy thanks! yettyopy: @VEIL1234 yes it's vfs lekki. Make sure you fill all documents properly before you go and submit. The cafe in Vfs is a bit pricey. Goodluck. |

God will definitely provide with not just another opportunity but a better one. Just trust in God absolutely. Congratulations in advance. dilini: Sometimes in life things happen for a reason. According the book of Eccl chap. 3 where it says everything happens for a reason I was just unhappy when at my workplace my superior almost frustrated the life out of me. I don't know why she was like that though I was new at that time. It was an admin role and I was employed by her to work as her PA/Admin Assistant to the company. I had my office to myself and I gave my ALL to both the company and to her but the issues were there evidently submerging with the flow of duties at the office. I guess her personal, family issues were affecting her job but alas!, I was wrong!
It was later in the course of my probatory period I learnt a friend of the company has been pressuring her/the management to pull me off the job and allow his daughter take up my role at the office due to their long working relationship. I was hinted of this 'secret' by one of the top management staff and it broke my heart. The zeal I put in into the job somehow disappeared because I was seeing the signs. My boss was just complaining of EVERYTHING I do and always reminded me of the probatory job agreement I signed before taking up the job thereby filling my heart with fear and anxiety. I kept on praying.
Fast-forward to Dec. 11th I came to the office as usual prepared for the working day ahead only for my bosslady barged into my office and asked that I see her in her office. I thought it was the normal day work rountine of telling me what I will be doing for her only for her to tell me to hand over EVERYTHING in my possession, everything which belong to the company. I was dumbfounded at first but somehow I try to mutter a word or two which was incoherent to decipher. My heart was beating fast. I didnt say anything thereafter because pleading to her for what I didnt know about will fall on deaf ears.
I went back to my office and tidied up everything, called the office assistant/cleaner and handed everything to him and took my leave. I was crying inside of me, alot was going through my mind. It was as if my world came crashing. How do I explain to my folks what happenned and I hate playing the pity-party.
I came back the next day and handed over my resignation letter thanking them for the time spent and all. Right now, my hopes are hinged on God for another opportunity, just been praying I get a new job the soonest as a vindication for my undeserved ouster from my former place of work.
My experience spans over 7years working as an admin personnel and I won't mind learning on a new role as I am a fast learner and can multi-task and work with or without supervision. The details of my cognate experience(s) are contained in my CV attached therein with this post.
Thanks again. |

Amen!!! Edoblakky: Thanks eridemilade! I've been living without my family for over a year now. My son keeps asking me on video call when I'm coming home. My daughter said they should turn off the video the last time I called. And I won't be spending the holidays with them for the first time. CIC should do the needful so that we can be together.
I pray for my case and that of others - there shall be a speedy answer before 2016 wounds up. |

Permit me to ask are you on a study permit yourself? Edoblakky: I still don't understand CIC. I applied for my wife in January this year. Because there was delay and she was expectant, she went to the US to have our baby. She was invited to submit her passport the very day she gave birth in the US. We missed the 30 day window and we came back to Nigeria where we were advised to reapply. We've reapplied since second week in June with upfront medical and done biometrics same period. I am shocked that almost 6 months and no response. Even while in the US, we tried calling and sending emails but they are too lazy to respond. I think I'll have to call the Calgary representative in the parliament 2moro. |

Well maybe u guys are lucky. I graduated 11 years ago. Trust me the op knows what he is talking about. That was the gwags we knew. DanBJ: Am Also a graduate from the school. Firstly, why did the OP use the Mini Campus Gate's Picture? Although the school is not a perfect school, the present V.C. is really doing well, the school calendar is faster and better, the infrastructures at the Main Campus are Well drafted, the library is really large and modern with free WiFi in the campus too. Almost Everything in the school now is Digital, i was shocked when i went to collect my certificate. As the School is positioned in the FCT, politics is expected too hold full sway therein. In few years to come, some people will wish they have their certificate from the school. No school without its own particular problems. |

Oh I would personally like to meet the op. This is one topic I have complained and complained about for years. I graduated in 2005 from that sick school and like you, I kept counting my days even before I left. From top to bottom (lecturers and students) it was a huge joke. Corruption has sooo eaten into everything concerning gwags that I decided even before I left what I wanted to do with my life. Fast forward two years later I needed my transcript to register for my prof exams and I remember crying out my eyes. First of all, you'll see courses you never ever registered in the first place with grades such as 'E'. Oya what of the elective I took and saw my grades were a 'B' nko? it was empty. 3 years later in 2010 my husband insisted I follow it up it cannot be my transcript. Fortunately one of my class mates who happens to be a staff's child has gained employment at the university and was working in the department that processes transcripts. Lucky me! I told him my story and he's like ooo am sooo sorry u know most times when we are compiling grades for a transcript we might not find all the results, so anyone that is missing we just put 'E' for d person and I am like WT* ? I dont want to start with how i studied and studied and still the lectures frustrated every effort. I honestly wish I had the courage then to write jamb again and go to another school during my time there cos like the op said it was a big disappointment from what I expected as the only university in the federal capital territory. dubemnaija2:

Alright thank you so much. Gymme: You can include your kids' birth certificate and any other required documents (international passport).
As per POF, i'm not too sure of what amount to save up because i don't know of anybody that included it. |

Yes I share your view. I know someone on nairaland who applied via paper and his processing took about 10 weeks. Nunu16: I think online applications are actually the culprit here....anyone applied through paper and still waiting beyond processing time? |
Travel › Re: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by VEIL1234: 3:12pm On Nov 20, 2016 |
@ Gymme thank you very much. I am also applying with our kids (5 and 2). My husband is still on the study permit (started this fall). Any specific docs for the kids? I have also read up somewhere that they are not so strict on pof, but what will be your advise regarding the amount I should save up to print out a six month statement? Thanks ahead! Gymme: Basically, the most important document is your spouse permit in Canada (Study permit or Post Graduate Work Permit). As in PGWP, they require your spouse to have a job in NOC Level O, A or B to qualify.
Other required documents are your international passport, photograph and IMM form.
You would need to provide a LOE where you could include your spouse issued permit (Study or Work), your marriage certificate, wedding pictures etc to prove your relationship. |

Hello house,
Good Morning. I am so happy this thread was created. I tried unsuccessfully several times to create a thread on SOWP.
I am a bit scared with the timelines I am seeing oooo. I do not have a timeline yet but intend to submit my SOWP application in the first quarter of 2017. Please can someone also share the documents they submitted so we can learn while gathering docs.
We will share testimonies on this thread by Gods grace. Please lets keep this thread alive. |

Please anyone with the list of documents to be submitted plus any advise and tips will be well appreciated. Lets help each other please. Thank you and may God grant all our wishes according to his will. Amen!!! |

@Gymme thanks a lot. I have been wondering what the rules are on this. I will contact you on any other issue I might have. Thanks a lot Gymme: I'm sorry for this late reply. The amount needed is basically to cover for one year living expenses. Sincerely, they don't really emphasis on it because your spouse is coming to work. |
