It has come to the knowledge of the Defence Headquarters that Boko Haram terrorists have now devised other means of inflicting harm on innocent citizens to further their terrorist cause.

Some of such tactics they now use include crying and feigning pains and shouting to attract sympathy from unsuspecting public. When a lot of people of goodwill gather to render help in the process, the suicide bomber detonates bombs which they conceal under their clothes. The recent suicide bombing in Damaturu is instructive.

Similarly, suicide bombers used monetary incentives and other inducements especially in crowded places to lure innocent citizens in order to cause colossal damage to both lives and property. Yola suicide incident is fresh in our memory.

The Defence Headquarters therefore advises citizens to be wary of such antics of the terrorists who are losing out in their former enclaves and are now desperate to remain relevant by using any means to perpetuate fear in the minds of the populace.

The Defence Headquarters also warns citizens to be extra vigilant and weary of terrorist malevolence in such places as parks, worship centres and recreation spots particularly in this festive period. Citizens are advised to report suspicious persons or objects to security agencies for prompt action.

9 persons have been confirmed dead and 24 others injured after 3 suicide bombers attacked Benisheikh in Borno State last night.

At about 8:30pm, 3 suspected suicide bombers between 10 to 15 years of age entered into Benisheikh but was stopped by the Borno State Civilian JTF.

One of them was with an Improvised Explosion Device (IED). When the civilian JTF stopped them after experiencing some funny movements, they demanded to search them,but as they were about searching, the IED carrier denoted it which led to the death of 9 and 24 others injured.

The emergency and security unit where mobilized to the scene to evacuate dead bodies and move those injured to receive quick medical attention.

While we condemn this dastardly act and commiserate with the families of these that lost their lives and the injured, it is pertinent to reiterate the need for more security consciousness and vigilance by all especially during the yuletide and New Year holidays, the security unit said

An Air France flight from Mauritius to Paris was on Sunday forced to make an emergency landing in Kenya after a suspect package was found on board.

The pilots of the Boeing 777 requested to land at Moi International Airport in Mombasa after the package was discovered in the toilet.

The aircraft was safely evacuated and the item is being examined by experts, police spokesman Charles Owino said.

Authorities in Kenya said they were are questioning several passengers.

Flights have now resumed from Moi Airport, which was evacuated while the suspected device was removed, Kenya's airport authority said on Twitter.

The plane was carrying 459 passengers and 14 crew members and had left Mauritius at 01:00 GMT, Mr Owino said.

A 29-year-old jilted woman, Adaeze Eboh, has dragged her estranged husband, Samuel Kalu,46 before an Isolo Magistrate Court for dumping her for another woman.

The two who both resides in Isolo started their relationship in July 2015 and promised to marry her last year according to the police. Samuel kalu demanded money from her to enable him start up a phone business and got about N147,000 from her. Barely five months after she gave him the money,he insisted they should part as he wasn't interested in the relationship again.

Adaeze demanded he pay her back the money she gave to him when things were going on well with them but he insisted he won't give her as he also spent a lot of money on her too. When the argument went so high,Samuel assaulted her and chased her away.

She reported him to the Aswani Police station and said he took the money from her by false pretence and claimed he wasn't going to give her back.
Kalu also claimed he loves her and would want to be with her but his family and tradition in Ohafia,Abia State was against him marrying her.

At the Magistrate court,he was charged with obtaining under false pretence of marrying her and assault under the criminal code. The presiding Magistrate, Joy Ugbomoiko granted him bail in the sum of N20,000 after he was pleaded not guilty. He was also remanded in prison custody depending on when be will perfect his bail. His case has been adjourned to January 2016.

A press statement by the EFCC Reads:

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Monday December 10, 2015 arraigned one Nnaji Ikechukwu, before Justice D.V Agishir of the Federal High Court Enugu, on a four count charge bordering on conspiracy, uttering and forgery.

Ikechukwu allegedly opened a bank account in First City Monument Bank with a false name 'Anthony Smith,' with intent to facilitate the fraudulent transfer of $9,500 (nine thousand five hundred US Dollars) into the said account. This action contravenes and is punishable under the provisions of Section 1(2) (a) and (c) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, CAP M17, Laws of Federation 2004.

One of the charges reads, “That you Nnaji Ikechukwu, sometime in January 2015 in Enugu, Enugu State, within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, did procure one Nwamba Humphrey to forge a National Drivers Licence to open an account with FCMB, Garden Avenue, Enugu and thereby committed an offense contrary to Section 1(2) (a) of the Miscellaneous offences Act Cap M17, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and punishable under the same Act”.

The accused however, pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against him and was granted bail in the sum of N1, 000,000 (one million naira).

The matter was adjourned to March 16, 2016 for commencement of trial.

In a related development, the Commission on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 arraigned one Seyi Ladejobi Chinyere a staff of one of the first generation banks before Justice N. Ayo Emmanuel of the Federal High Court, Ibadan for failure to exercise due diligence in line with Know Your Customer regulation, before opening account for some customers of the bank.

The offence is contrary to Section 3(1) (a) (i) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011, mandating financial institutions to fully verify the identities of the intending customers before opening account for them.

The accused was arrested following a petition by one Patrick Agie who was allegedly defrauded to the tune of N800,000 by one John Adam(still at large), a purported CBN staff, who operates multiple accounts which Ladejobi manages.

One of the counts reads, “That you United Bank for Africa Plc, a financial institution and Ladejobi Seyi Chinyere, an employee of United Bank for Africa Plc, on 18th day of June, 2013, at Ibadan, Oyo State, within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court, failed to verify the identity of one John Adams before opening Account No. 2063557855 for him and thereby committed an offense contrary to section 3(1) (a) (i) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 and punishable under section 16(1) (c) and 16(1) (c) and 16 (2) (a) of the same Act”.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the 2 counts brought against her and was granted bail in the sum of N500, 000 and one surety in like sum.

The case has however been adjourned to 16th of February 2016.

In criminal law when two to three people are involved in a act of criminality, all of them are charged with conspiracy. Now if you lay your hands on the various appropriation bills passed by the National Assembly and see how much the National Assembly appropriated for subsidy for all those periods, you will find out they are not even up to half of what was spent. This means that money not appropriated for was spent. If people are involved in those acts, they must be brought to justice,” he said

They know for a fact that their children will be as brainless and useless as they, this is why they steal to live and live to steal. They steal ridiculously so much because they do not want their children to die miserable deaths of failure, being empty heads as they are. So they steal more than they need and buy homes in Dubai, London and America so their empty-head kids can have places to live. Why else will a public servant become a proud and shameless public thief? My dad was a public servant, a minister, and he left office broke but with pride.

I love him because he made me wealthy in mind. He trained me to be a success. I do not need a dime from him. I would never accept a house from him abroad if he had to loot or otherwise covet money of Nigeria's poor to buy this for me. My dad gave me more. He trusted that the toolset he gave me will make me never need. Not this lot who cut up incomes they know they do not deserve for the nothing but harm they do in a nation where 80% live under a dollar-a-day.

No, not these ones I tell you about. These ones want to steal and to shut us up so we cannot even text each other to lament over their stealing our future. Dino, NaAllah, these people do not have much intelligence, in fact they have none at all. Their brains are empty baskets, filled only with wickedness and deadly hunger for cash, the only value system in Abuja.

I promise them that we will fight them. We will hold placards and harass their children abroad. We will carry placards any time they travel and at our embassies with their names and their records of theft and shame. When we can, we will finish them. I walked into the music preview room at the radio station and I saw one of our sound engineers previewing Naeto C’s songs before uploading it into the station’s new digital library for airplay, I immediately walked out of the room because I wasn’t ready to activate my anger mode by putting myself through another experience of listening to another Nigerian rap song with shallow and crappy lines of which Naeto C is the culprit-in-chief, only to walk into the transmitting room and heard the presenter on duty introducing ‘Share my Blessing’ by Naeto C and Asa, as the next song on the play list.

I have to admit that this time around, I wasn’t too eager to make a dash for the door. Maybe because I heard Asa was on the song and thought that it would have at least inspired Naeto C to use better and more inspiring rhymes. Hope is a very dangerous thing. It turned out that I hoped for too much. The first line of the song almost pulled off my knee cap. It is the most fatal accident I have had till date. I almost died when I heard “what a conundrum” within the first few lines. What Conundrum? Like seriously? Bros Naeto, the only thing close to a conundrum in the whole song was how you convinced Asa to feature in the song.

That song has some of the dumbest lines ever used in the history of rap music worldwide. As I sat there gasping for air, I tried consoling myself that every artist is allowed one mistake in a career lifespan and ‘Share my Blessing’ is a mistake that won’t happen again. But on a second thought, I asked myself, didn’t Asa or her manager Janet, hear Naeto C’s lines before accepting to feature on the song? I would have Usain-Bolted out of that studio, screaming ‘tufiakwa gi’ and snapping my fingers as I rid myself of all the phloem in my system.

Asa apparently hasn’t learnt her lessons. Her latest collabo with Korede Bello is another career mistake that shouldn’t have happened. The lightening has struck twice. Korede Bello and Asa have succeeded where others have failed. Koredo Bello and Asa have succeeded in taking every crappy song from the past decade in Nigeria and mashed them into a musical abomination; add that to the level of auto-tune on Korede’s voice; which sounds like T-Pain after he’s slammed his testicles in a car door. Ironically, slamming my own testicles in a car door is something I would rather do than listen to this song again.

Sadly, the fiasco with Naeto C now looks like a piece of art compared to this song with Korede Bello. This is a whole new grade of crime against music. Asa, how do you explain this to your fans? I have searched for justification even from a musician’s perspective and found none. The whole song comes out childish and guess Korede knows it too, which explains why he had to sing it to us as the first line that he is no longer a child. Korede has proved conclusively with this song that there are two things a Nigerian youth can’t do: play music and feign humility. Titling your song, “Somebody Great”, and blabbing all through the song about “Somebody wey dey spray millions and somebody wey go save billions” is that what defines greatness? Spraying of millions? What are you doing to yourself Asa? How did you get yourself involved in this song? Why did you do this to your fans?

I won’t be surprised to hear that the sound engineer that mixed this song is deaf. That you couldn’t hear that the whole song is drenched in reverb is unbelievable. For God’s sake, the presence in the song is very disturbing to the ears. And what is that thing that sounds like someone striking a pot cover with “ewedu” broom? Please don’t tell me that it is the crash or the hi-hats. Please sir, can you take back your mix and reduce the shakers. Damn it, take back your mix and keep it to yourself.
Asa, I swear you no try at all.

The only excuse that would probably make some sense to me now is if I am told that you guys were just trying to create something for the current generation but instead of a smooth-rocking guitar classic, you have instead created this audible shit. Yes, this song is literally shit that you can hear. It is the worst song from Asa that I have had the displeasure of listening.
Unfortunately though, for some inexplicable reason, some people are actually going to play it and like it and start insulting Etcetera like he is the reason the song is rubbish.

Please, the excuse that Asa was not involved in this collaboration with Korede Bello; that Don Jazzy recorded her freestyle and used on the song, is not going to hold any water here. Nobody does that in this age and time knowing the ramification. And until Don Jazzy is called out by Asa’s management, I will assume the freestyle story is just another industry lie and that “Somebody Great” is a well thought out and planned collaboration between Asa and Korede Bello. Until then, trying to water down Asa’s involvement in this song will be a blatant in-your-face insult to her fans as much as tweaking the synthesizer at the beginning of the song to give it a rock guitar feel is a blatant in-your-face insulting to all guitarists out there.
