Beside, I have made peace with pro-IPOB and I wouldnt want to betray it. Life is short my brother, we may disagree but we also have to avoid unnecessary and unproductive confrontations. You have won my respect bro. |

MrDavidson: What an affront. The govt must use two-pronged solution here: a massive bombardment of their hideout followed by minor concessions to tell them that 'no group is greater than a State'. Like massive bombardment which always leads to loss of innocent lives has ever worked. |

Bigprozzie: You had the opportunity to leave Nigeria from 1966-1970
Can you remind me what the outcome was? What exactly are you typing, which opportunity are you talking about, they wanted to leave, the Nigerian state supported by the international community prevented that from happening and the weapon of mass starvation was used. While i am a strong advocate of one nigeria, i try not to let petty bias cloud my judgement. You should try that once in a while. |

saaedlee: Just here to read the lies. Can a leopard change its spots? Till you get to meet that special woman who you can't raise your hand on, you will still beat that one you beat up before. I do not think the solution has anything to do with meeting the right person,in relationships, even the seemingly matured, emotions will be flared, its more about having the strenght of character not to raise ur hands on any woman. Its important you enter into a relationship with someone suited to ur nature but the reason must never be so u dont raise ur hand on her. |

Quakertellicus1: 1.The tarrif increase was part of the enabling law that brought the DISCOS into existence...which was formulated and signed by GEJ in 2014. There was nothing the current govt could do....short of renationalising the whole power sector...which would have led to them facing lawsuits in court.
2.Taxation necessary because we do not have the cash we used to have thanks to the fall in oil price. I t may be a harsh decision...but the alternative is taking more loans from the IMF.
3.He is the new guy. He has to build connections. I used to critique GEJ's trips too...until someone explained how one of the trips worked. I shut up after that.
4.WHich was present during GEJ's time too. It has always been there. Hazards of being a Nigerian. (It was worse in the 1960s' and the 1980's by the by).
5.Which was brought to you by the low oil price...meaning that we do not have the revenue to subsidize...and by the fact that we import more than 60% of our PMS used in this country. (GEJ promised to build refineries which he never built).
6.Again...an effect of being resource reliant. When you rely on revenue from resources you sell(whose price we do not control)....inflation goes up when the price goes down because you have less dollars to import....meaning you need more naira to buy dollars...which is passed onto us in the form of higher prices. (The Govt's current foreign exchange restriction is preventing the situation from being worse). That is why we have to develop industry based on local raw materials.
7.Effects of Dutch disease...and fall in foreign exchange (Which Buhari has no control over.).
8.Living costs were high for the majority during GEJ and even those who preceded huim. Even at high oil price...we still have most people living in poverty. That is why we must industrialise. Bro,when the price of crude oil comes down, the price of fuel in the international market also falls reducing the cost of of subsidy. |
Politics › Re: Fuel Subsidy Removed Officially By FG by VERDA: 5:54pm On May 11, 2016 |
Quakertellicus1: Abeg park well.
We are doing this because oil is below 50 usd per barrel...meaning we do not have the revenue for any subsidy.
You cannot keep on spending money that you do not have. During GEJ's time oil was above $100 per barrel and the post subsidy price would have been 140naira,now a barrel is around $40 and the present governments post subsidy price is 145 naira......Stop being hypocritical, and just so u know I have always been in support of subsidy removal cos it makes economic sense. |
Politics › Re: Fuel Subsidy Removed Officially By FG by VERDA: 5:34pm On May 11, 2016 |
Rexnegro: GEJ never tried to remove it instead he never talked About it...what made nigerians occupied everywhere was the new year package GEJ gave us by increasing the price of fuel despite the so called subsidy that some so called powerful cabals were enjoying, perhaps they were too Powerful to gej..... wait sef o which GEJ re You talking About? cos The only one I no is clueless About everything......nice one jare pmb, how can govt be subsidizing fuel/kerosene yet Nigerians re still buying it on The high price....what then re they subsidizing if Not corruption/looting pdp? never again except Nigerians split. Oga,what are you saying,he tried to remove it completely and no powerfull cabal as u have stated would have been enjoying it,the protests made him backtrack, stop lying. |
