Any agency with ES has commissioners or other political appointees in management or board, DG how ever dnt , the only have normal directors
yakbauer: I stand to be corrected but to the best of my knowledge, DG is used in agencies that use the common civil service format of promotion to the rank of directors, while an agency that is headed by ES does not have directors, or should I say they have managers which are equivalent to directors, their method of promotion (by ranks) is not like the conventional civil service . Elders in civil service Can help shed some more light. Good topic by the way, very enlightening I think this is fp worthy

Governor Inuwa Yahaya Visits New Chief of Army Staff
... Assures of Sustained Synergy with Military, Other Security Agencies to Safeguard Prevailing Peace in Gombe
Gombe state Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya earlier today visited the new Chief of Army Staff, Major General Faruk Yahaya at the army headquarters in Abuja.
The Governor, accompanied by Senators Saidu Ahmed Alkali and Bulus K. Amos, appreciated the efforts of the Nigerian Military and other security agencies in the counter terrorism operations in the North East, saying his administration will continue to have constant engagement with the armed forces to safeguard the prevailing peace in Gombe state.
The Governor said being at the centre of north East, Gombe is bearing the brunt, serving as safe haven for intenally displaced persons, fleeing from the insurgency- hit neighbouring states.
" Nigeria is passing through hard times and series of challenges, especially security. And knowing fully well that Gombe state is in the North East, which is the epicenter of security challenges with the state harbouring a lot of displaced persons from the neighbouring states, we must work hard and collectively too in order to maintain and safeguard our most cherished peace in our dear state".
He said Gombe state is ready to provide all necessary support to the Nigerian army and the armed forces in general, saying already "the Nigerian Army is utilizing our former NYSC camp as a de- radicalisation camp for repentant insurgents".
The Gombe who noted that although the security challenges bedevilling the nation are enormous, however expressed confidence in the quality and capacity of the Nigerian army to deal with the situation, especially if given the necessary support and boost.
He congratulated the new army chief on his appointment, saying " We believe you have the capacity, you have the tenacity and the vigour to deliver. As a government, I guarantee you , we shall give you all necessary support to achieve your objectives ".
The Chief of Army Staff, appreciated the visit and assured the Governor of continued synergy with the Gombe state government.
" Like you mentioned, Gombe is central and strategic in our operations. We shall continue to cherish and maintain this partnership. As we speak, we are conducting special operations there under the aegis of 3 division in conjunction with 33 brigade in Bauchi, so we shall continue to give the best we can in addressing the challenges ".
" I want to also appreciate the efforts of His Excellency towards the relocation of the 301 general support to the permanent site along Kumo road despite the economic challenges at the moment".

Case u didn't get me d first time, those particular VW are terrible and beautifully made . Reasonable car and top notch mechanic / electrician shldnt b in d same sentence, they are cars that preferable ur your own mechanic or buy them best grade to avoid stories, my opinion thou
Unfortunate to even come from a former general, this is a blunder, blunder
Thegracefulness: Update: Majority of you are daft for telling me to ignore this because previous administrations did it. You have no idea how clownish you sound trying to convince me to part with evil because someone else must have done it. That’s the problem. Party affiliations would blind you. I’m not concerned if anybody has done this before. This is wrong and unnecessary. Do you know how many hundreds of millions the struggling economy would have to cough out to compensate these men? When it could ordinarily have been avoided. Buhari campaigned on integrity. Buhari campaigned on changing the “status quo.” Thrice. Just to come and do the same thing others were doing? Do you see how insensible you sound?
Agree with me or not, this is unfair and underserved retirement for this men. No matter what political views you subscribe to, if you’re being fair and reasonable, you’d see Nigeria is facing a terrible security crisis that requires all hands on deck. You cannot be retiring Generals at this point in time, and you know why these men are going on retirement. A very flimsy and petty reason. You know who’s behind this.
What would it have caused the President to appoint a competent Chief of Army staff from the regular course 36? Ask yourself again. And then you argue that it is to his discretion. But when a person’s choice, when their discretion is causing so much vile and resentment, and public outcry, does it not show something is inherently wrong with the person and inadvertently their ability to make choices? Currently, I’m yet to see people who trusts the President’s good judgement. If you do, notify me, let me tell you where you belong.
He made a claim on AriseTv, that he only appoints people who he knows. But is the seat of Governance a family reunion? You don’t have to know these individuals. There’s a public service commission. There are individuals responsible for suggesting appointments to you. Appointments generally should be for the betterment of the people. Not to satisfy your familiarity or ethnocentric tendencies.
Do you know by implication, he’s saying all those men do not level up to the substance of the newly appointed vaunted Farouk Yahaya? That’s an insult to men who are older than him in the force, who worked and served their asses off to a country that does not rate them. Nigeria is sending them off to compulsory retirement simply because of what? The Nigerian “Presidency” is playing with matters of great national security. These appointments are bedevilling.

If u dnt knw this is the only way chinese can loot , cut must alway be there for facilitation
AMINDA: You wish. These loans are tied to Infrastructure. The Chinese do not release cash. Once the worth of the project is settled and counterpart funding paid, they bring in their engineers and deliver the project. Chinese concessionary loans are the best because they are embezzlement-proof.
Nigeria hires a consultant (an Italian firm in this case) to determine that the projects are delivered according to European standards and that's it. Chinese loans also have the least interest rate and higher moratorium (grace period before Nigeria starts paying up). It's no wonder the West are threatened by the Chinese in Africa and are sponsoring a lot of propaganda against them. China is the best thing to have happened to Africa.

•Inaugurates 503 Fresh Intake
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has said crime is a local issue that should be addressed with a large dose of home-grown content.
The Governor noted that Amotekun Security Corps initiative is a baby of necessity conceived as a home-grown approach to solving the plethora of security challenges that have put the people on the edge.
Governor Akeredolu spoke on Tuesday at the passing-out ceremony for the newly recruited Amotekun Corps officers held at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade, Igbatoro Road, Akure, the state capital.
The event was part of the activities marking the first 100 days of Governor Akeredolu's second term.

“Let me reassure the good people of Ondo State that our administration will leave no stone unturned as far as the implementation of our REDEEMED Agenda is concerned.
“The sixth goal of the Agenda which is “Maintenance of Law and Order for Adequate Security” is the reason why we are here today. I enjoin all the good people of Ondo State to lend your cooperation in terms of providing credible intelligence and financial support towards the success of this initiative.
“Today’s event is one of the milestones recorded by our administration in our attempt to redeem Ondo State from the shackles of poverty, disease, and underdevelopment. These cannot be achieved without a sense of safety and peace,” Governor Akeredolu said.
He commended the commander of the Security Agency, Chief Adetunji Adeleye for the brilliant work put into the roadmap, promising that he will always provide the right leadership for the Agency to flourish.
Governor Akeredolu appreciated members of the State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun, for their tireless legislative support in making Amotekun a reality.
He also thanked the traditional rulers for their immense support and cooperation and the leadership of all the security agencies in the state for their cooperation in tackling security challenges.
