Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Should I Leave My Job And Japa To The UK by verygudbadguy(m): 4:51am On May 25, 2022 |
A lot of people think 600k salary is much for a family of 6 in our present Nigeria. I think the children should come first in this your permutation. Their future should be paramount as it looks bleak here in Nigeria due to economic and security meltdown.
From discussions with friends in the UK, it will be expectantly uneasy to settle down over there except you have saved up some bucks for rent, balance of your school fees while madam also gets ready to hustle big time. It is achievable!
I think the travel route is fine because I can tell you for free that in the nearest future, that salary range won’t be able to afford you the life you desire here. I can picture your present lifestyle right now and what it will look like after inflation has dealt a massive blow on the economy in 2,3 years. |

Now you are saying God did not build US? That’s a Bible verse now. It literally means God is the final authorizer. (Like banking transactions, one person initiates, the other person approves) |

Gamesmart: How do you explain after decades of all your grandparents' prayers, your parents' prayers, your prayers and your entire networks' prayers, Nigeria is still a shithole?
Why your useless God never build our cities after una prayers?
Abi your argument is that una no get sense to know what to pray to una God for? Bro, keep it civil. Like I said earlier, I am not a religious person. I am only spiritual and I know that there is God and there is Grace. God didn’t build US. People did! If our leaders where to be godly and not criminals, we would have built the cities of our dreams. God deposited so many mineral resources for us to achieve greatness. We are our own problem not God. |

harmargedon: baba, I left lagos for my mental health, there's nothing to build in Lagos apart from stress and constant brokenness. If he stays in Lagos with 200k, he'll spend half of his life on the road. The stress part can not be over emphasized. From Osborne to Yaba plus the daily traffic was no joke. Now, I don’t leave my bed until 8:15am. Drive out at 8.30 and get to Ikoyi 9-9:15am. No longer as stressful as it used to be. |

I acknowledge that there is Grace of God everywhere. Maybe I am also of the opinion that there are much more opportunities in Lagos than in anywhere else in Nigeria. |

Gamesmart: Another useless black person that believes everything is by "prayer". You think prayer doesn’t work? Don’t portray yourself in bad light by using this kind of demeaning word. It points to bad upbringing. I am not a religious person but I know for a fact that there is Grace of God. How do you explain people who are striving but have not been lucky enough to attain their desired heights. *If God doesn’t build the city, the workers laboureth in vain*. |

Do not base your judgement on all of these messages you have seen here. Lagos is tough but with the Grace of God, you will excel where others are lamenting.
Pray for Grace. Na still same Lagos some people make am. Started from one room, moved to 2 bedroom and then 4 bedroom. Grace.
Pray for Grace my Gee. Focus on this message and not the bragado that it looks like. |

Wait and dig deeper until you are absolutely sure. If possible, employ someone to track her down to her location on the day she will go and meet this Man I don't think that's what "lets see first" in this context means. I think she is trying to get the credit alert first. Most ladies do this to guys on their case just to show their prowess in "chopping guys money".. They even brag about it amongst themselves. I am not saying I know her intentions. I am simply saying the context didn't suggest visitation. |

AmeliaT: Sorry about this. The ECO actually wrote 8,000,000 but in the exchange to pounds, put 1400 GBP instead of 14k. I believe that's the key issue. You can write a complaint pointing out this error. As, if they had taken into account your yearly other income of #14k GBP, your monthly goes to over 2600 and so the 6k budget would only be X2.2 of your monthly income. I suggest you complain about that and also reattach your proof about every single one of the transfers. If that doesn't work,
1. Reapply and ensure there are no large deposits just your monthly fixed salary. 2. Reduce the budget from 6k so it doesn't put too much pressure on you. 3. Highlight every deposit into the account, number it and in your cover letter use bullet points to outline every deposit with the corresponding number, date and explain it and also add proof. Also include your company statement.
Have you travelled elsewhere before and was this a first time application to the UK? Sometimes, I feel like they nitpick based on a nudge they have which they can't really put a finger on so they just look out for whatever. Thank you @AmeliaT It is my first attempt to the UK. I hav been to Dubai twice and i also visited Kenya last year. I think it is best to do another Dubai trip before reapplying. |

Greetings to y’all. I just received a refusal letter. I think the ECO made a mistake. He/she took 8,000,000 for 800,000 in my yearly investment income and based the judgement on the fact that my travel budget is 4x my monthly income which is not true.
I also submitted a cover letter stating that the funds i moved into my personal account are from my corporate account and are incomes from my own business.
Pros in the house, kindly advise.

I've been on the queue with my bank to order our raw materials since early August, after fulfilling all the cbn forex requirements and we're not even close to being attended to as the list is endlessly long.
More smies would even collapse now because about 70% of us go to BDC to buy forex as the cbn doesn't support with enough forex anymore. A dollar today is 590 naira I understand your plight. If you have someone in the CBN, it could be fast tracked. Everything in this country has turned to man-know-man. Lol. I got PTA this month sha without stress but Form M matter na stress. USD closed 574 yesterday and not 590. |

Usually, the sender bears the charge. I'm guessing this particular sender opted that the "beneficiary bears offshore charge", thus you were charged.
It has always been 25usd. Next time, ask questions or you use Western Union to receive your money Well said jare. Nigerians just like making issues out of nothing. |

I use union Bank and i don't get debited like this for charges. Even though AdSense payment comes in it regularly. change your bank sir. All banks debit offshore charge. Even if you transfer from a Nigerian Bank to BOA, Wellsfargo or any other US bank, you get charged 15-25 dollars as offshore charges. It is not peculiar to Nigerian banks. Remember you transactions are routed through correspondence banks. |
