Big Bang Theory Penguins of Madagascar. |
Legend of the Guardians. Cute |
God bless you, Chika. |
RED. Pretty good. Star studded. The coolest part of the film was Moses' first encounter with Cooper where Moses came out of a careening car guns blazing. Ooh yeah. The story is pretty weak though. Brian Cox, mad as ever and always |
Me, I grew up with Pierce. He sort of defined thg Bond persona for me. I remember when I found a dog eared book of Ian Fleming in 1999. Up until that time I didn't know Bond first existed as a book. Even then I thought the book much too small to totally make the man so I assumed the on-screen Bond was a manifold extrapolation of the books. Saw some films of Sean and Roger and it got stuck with me that Bond MUST be a womaniser with 9 lives and therefore Daniel Craig didn't fit. I should read the books and decide but now I'm not so sure it'll be as easy for Bourne to kick Bond's ass even though he eventually will. |
Looking forward to Thor, Mission Impossible (I'm cautiously optimistic. This is not Bird's turf but if he pulls it off, woohoo!), Pirates of the Carribean (like the rest of the known world), Cowboys and Aliens. The Hangover 2? I don't give a hoot. Saw the first one though. Not bad. The Transformers. I honestly believe these movies shoulda been just the first. Harry Potter Part 2. I've not seen Part 1 yet so. I've not read Steig Larsson's book yet for some reason so I can't be properly interested. But the hype seems to be justified. Mtschew to Twilight and The Muppets. |
300. It must be one of the coolest film titles ever. Up there with Mercury Rising and E.T. Frank Miller really sealed his rep with this (The Spirit didn't help though) but that boy Zack Snyder catapulted himself into my favorites list. Gerard Butler I've had a soft spot for ever since even though he's nearly stopped my heart with yeye films, I just think of 300 and we're all good. As JeSoul said, the This is Sparta scream/shout/holler is awesome and should be in an encyclopedia to mark the beginning of 21st century film, like the 'Here's to looking at you, kid' quote for the last century. Unfortunately, I cannot enjoy a film I still have memories of. I'll watch it again when I've forgotten more than half of it. The fight scenes were beautifully choreographed. So much grace in killing someone else. It was like ballet for hunks. Personally I think slow mo can make taking a dump seem cool but the way it was used in 300 was ingenious. Stop, start, fastforward, slowed down. Genius. I'm surprised anyone would think 300 was historical. Isn't that a laugh. Haba. Even holy books don't have that kinda fable. 300 was a success in many ways cuz I've seen girls who say in a thin monotone 'I don't like violent movies' and then get their freak on and let escape small battle cries upon seeing 300. Though I cannot totally be sure that they're not just pretending and looking at abs instead. The only 'flaw' is that the film isn't very deep like say The Gladiator and if it was a book, it'd have little meaning. But 300 didn't pretend to be deep or all that meaningful. It was what it was and I bought it wholesale. 90%. And HAROO!!! |
The only casting suprise I've ever experienced in a delightful way is Matt Damon as Jason Bourne. I don't think Anne will be the second but in Nolan we trust. |
You don't like Natalie Portman? Ah. When Meryl Streep goes and I'm still here, Natalie will become my favorite actress, provided she's still here too and doesn't OD on something. |
Obinna. Do you watch the series, Monk? |
Bruce Willis |
I don't find vulgarity very funny. And all these black dudes are just that: vulgar. Bruce Willis and Jack Nicholson are the actors that crack me up. Guy Ritchie is my funniest director. But as for comedians, Jeff Dunham, Ellen Degeneres and Aries Spears are my favourites. |
Thank you Dulcet. That's really helpful. I hope the Prof is everything that I hear. On a side, what are his own personal beliefs? Are they known? Or he keeps himself to himself? |
Awww. I wish you happiness too Dulcet. Oh, hot damn! Now I can't think of anything else. Didn't old Professor write a book instead? I'm weighing a lot of things against each other lately and inasmuch as my views are alike with those of Thomas Paine, I wanna see things from other perspectives. Trying to keep an open mind. That's the best attitude, yes? Lol, Jay. I step down. |
Ach. I know what you mean. It's very hard to ignore a wrong accent. It's like seeing glimpses of the microphone. It reminds this is all fake. Mr. Smallz. Rejuvenated Juventus kicking some ass eh? How that crazy continent? Just fall into stride, no need for orientation |
Hmmm. Broadwalk Empire and Steve. I see you cara |
Superman is too powerful for his own good. He's like a cheat superhero. I've not bothered with the new films even. Plus there's the feeling that we know all that is possible to know about him thru all the cartoons, series and movies. There's just little way to be surprised. Also, his briefs attract to much attention. The double identity thing is ridiculous. I wear glasses. If I put on a halloween custome and lose the glasses, people would still know it was me. So? |
The Hoax. Pretty good. Reminds me of The Informant which is better though. Dunno the last time I watched a Richard Gere movie. |
Now that's class. And to think I was hysterically worried about this woman. JeSoul for President. @Dulcet. 5.1GB?! Ah! That's outta my league o. Thanks a lot but I'll pass. Are they serial or one doesn't need to watch em all to make sense of em? |
How come you have an 'm' suffixed to your name? |
Only you, iice, can combine these two smileys and get away with itMe sef ![]() |
Dude, your eyes had better fall out o |
Yeah, easy enough mistake. Date Night is similar but better than Knight and Day IMHOFHTETC. |
Fake identity. Cool enough for low budget but very stupid ending. Diary of a Mad Black Woman. I know, I know. Don't judge me! Big Stan. Jesus, I hate to take your name in vain. Remember Me. Good drama. The ending knocked the wind outta me. Pattinson is not bad. Keanu's replacement though |
Even Donnie Darko doesn't deserve such treatment |
I'm resigned on religious matters but I'd like to see those videos of yours. I'm curious. You could re-format the videos into little manageable chunks and label them serially and then upload them. Open a youtube account if you don't already have one so they can be catalogued somewhat. |
Lol. Maurya copied and pasted my first post. It's the percentages that are hers. I'm allergic to tambourines. They gimme blisters. Let's try that your electric guitar hooked up to my 60GW speakers. |
You take me back Maurya, to the days when I was googoo eyed. I miss those days. iice. Imagining you rejoicing makes me almost shiver. Pun intended. I'll rejoice with you too but no tambourines. Obinna. Let's hope you're wrong eh cuz maybe those films I've not seen are over rated after all. |
I haven't seen any of the movies nominated for the makeup category except Alice in Wonderland and about 20mins of Jonah Hex. I'm sure Alice will win anyway. Also I have only seen Inception among the Directors' nominees. I want Nolan to win but I'm not sure if he deserves it this time. He shoulda won for TDK. Inception should win for best film though. ![]() |
November next year. More like BOND WILL BE BACK! |
