There's no country that won't have some parts (most times majority) of it kinda drawing it backwards but this is the true sense of nationalism. Sometimes I swear, I just want us to split so that when some people get outta line we can just declare war and put them back in line but then I think what if I was born as one of them. But our case makes you laugh doesn't it. It's illiteracy versus common sense most times and not sensible ideologies like in East/West Germany (of before), North/South Korea, Ireland/England and Blue/Red U. S. of A.

We'll see. Thank God for Sudan. There own case is as special as ours. Downright oppression and slavery.

Well, well, well. Obinna's evil twin.

I saw Black Swan just now. Wow. It was great for an hour but it became awesome after that. Natalie killed it. Mila Kunis was just okay to me o. Dunno what the fuss is about her. Darren murdered it. Alfred Hitchcock has reincarnated as Darren Aronofsky.

A question though. What did Nina have? I first thought it was leukemia, then I thought it was osteoporosis or something, then I thought it was all in her head, then I thought it was a skin condition. I may have missed it but I don't think it was mentioned in the movies what she has. Her mother only complains she scratches herself. I dunno. I think it's time for The Fountain again.

I think I might still surprise myself when I get around to that list. Anna is from one remote place like that. I remember her in an interview way back saying she heard about auditioning for The Pianist. She sounded like she was from a jungle.

Lol, Jay. If God put you in charge of hell's interior decor, men, wouldn't we be really screwed. Don't worry, I'll make you love Memento if it's the last thing I do. You must tell me what you don't like about it o. As for Inception's idea well, it's conceivable two different people thought of the same thing but I'll have to see that Alias episode to determine how copious and liberal the thieving was. I think it's a wrap with Shutter Island. Let's get a move on people.
TV/Movies › Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched? by vescucci(m): 10:26am On Feb 03, 2011
That Tony Scott is always trying Ridley. But you can't be like Ridley dude. Why can't he do like the Nolan, Coen, Farrelly or Wachowski brothers? Yeye.

I watched Memento again. Just to make sure it's the same film me and some people are talking about.

Wow cara. I'm short for words. O . . . . . . . kay, the shortage has passed. You know my stance on this already. I never thought I could get even more convinced of what I already absolutely am. That last sentence is a killer one. Lucky for us, Hollywood seems to be preponderated by democrats and Mel Gibson is not even American. Many of these actors do not even try to become more American as they often live back home and are only in the US for business. One statement stood out in the excerpt: the British do enjoy more classical training and not necessarily by actual training but by their culture. I think the American idea is freedom and anything goes. That's why it is not as impossible as one might think for a foreigner to play Captain America but no matter how great your looks and accents are, nothing less than a British person can play James Bond.

Later I'll compile a list of Academy Award winners since the turn of the century or maybe even further back. That will be a more reliable proof for doubters.

Mini me, et tu?

Maybe I'll go watch this movie again and try my hardest to get flummoxed. JeSoul will soon come and nail my coffin with a railroad pike.

Sweetguy, everything is a fable in his mind. The mind is capable of concocting the weirdest stuff. I often get awesome ideas from my dreams. I know tons of normal people who're actually crazy people when it comes to a subject. You have to be a tad crazy to be religious. Etc. Everything, the woman, the conspiracies, the piece of paper, the cigarette druggings, everything is a concoction or a rewrite of the truth. Schizophrenia is a beautiful thing if it's not violent. I saw some paintings by one dude. The madder he got, the more intricate and beautiful and exquisite his paintings became. And to answer your question: the actor and boss are both one person. Guess who that is.
TV/Movies › Re: The Movie Club by vescucci(m): 11:02am On Feb 01, 2011
Ah, you have forced my hand, Lalaboi.

Shutter Island. First of all, it's got a cool title. Now there're more complaints about the intricacies of the film. Na wa o. For me, a film that can confuse me is a good thing but no film has succeeded yet. Fight Club, Memento, The Hours and Inception came close. Even the yeye Max Payne is more confusing than Shutter Island. Vieira has broken it down na. The majority of the film is the unreal reality of the mind of a schizophrenic. The story had to be told that way to make it all seem interesting. If you were just watching a mad dude staring into space and hearing voices and speaking to people who aren't there, then that'd be really sucky. What happened was Leo's mind constructed an elaborate and fabulous and quite beautiful scenario so he wouldn't have to deal with his reality. His fantasy (in comparison to the truth) is actually a nightmare and he has to compensate for things like why he's on the island at all and tid bits from his past life vis a vis his occupation. The reason why the reality is not in so much of a stark contrast to his fantasy is because the doctors are now familiar with his fantasies (for he relapses again and again once the truth dawns on him) and often play along as long as he is not violent to others or himself. I dunno if all that makes sense. Most of the things in the film never happened. The mind is a truly wonderful thing. I'd rather be insane than stupid.

Now I have used all my time explaining the movie instead of reviewing it. Awesome riveting performance from Leo. Excellent work from Scorsese who I didn't know had it in him. The story couldn't be better men. Frankly I can't think of anything wrong with the film. Cinematography was excellent too. Excellent. 95%

Lol. I have peculiar taste o. I liked how they didn't make it their purpose to explain everything. I liked how the thing ended too. I liked the sequence with the F-16 I think that nuked the mother ship. I hated all the actors but the alien thingies were cool. It reminded me of Cloverfield. They had a better idea than Cloverfield but executed it poorly but still it was ok.

@topic. Green Zone and Chronicles of Narnia 3

Green Zone was fantastic. Paul Greengrass is officially the master of shaky cameras. Scott go rest. The film is underrated in my opinion. I wish Greg Kinnear was replaced by a more sinister person though but it was all good.

Chronicles of Narnia 3 was a pleasant surprise. Way better than the childish one in between. Prince Caspian managed to look younger by sporting a beard. How that is possible, I don't know. That kid called Eustace made the whole film worth it. Great acting from the lad. The film fit make a convert outta person

Thank you o. I dunno why the movie comes across as so complex. It's not even close to being so. I like your straight point by point review (Synopsis  tongue). In order not to steal Sweetguy's thunder, I'll keep quiet at Lalaboi's complaint.
TV/Movies › Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched? by vescucci(m): 6:56pm On Jan 31, 2011
Tron was very good. It started very well which is an art that is gradually being lost nowadays. It is visually stimulating and minimalist at the same time. Reminds me of Running Man and one other film that seems to have had Jeff Bridges in it too, a long time ago, but I can't place a finger on it. And I like what was done with Jeff's alter ego's face. That means Bruce Willis may have a decade left on his action hero career.

Chloe
Skyline
Tron: Legacy
Ghost Town

All very good films. Usually I don't get this lucky.

Unstoppable and Narnia 3 next. I'm not holding my breath.

Oh and When In Rome. There's a chic in there who looks exactly like the crazy scientist genius woman in The Incredibles.

Lol. I said to myself before reading that one of ACD's books will be there. I'm afraid I dunno what constitutes a short story exactly anymore especially those of old.

Uses of Intelligence - I have forgotten the writer

Virtually all of ACD's short stories (Five Orange Pips mostly)

Frankenstein - Mary Shelley

The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde - by Robert Louis Stevenson

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow - by Washington Irving

Apparently I haven't read many short stories.

I've not seen Social Network yet but this JT angst is cuz of some singer-actor transition complex. A belief you can't be very good at the two or even if you'd be not as more or less your first try at another. I kinda hate Jamie Foxx but I admit he's pretty good at times. I'm sure Justin wouldn't have been put down if he were someone else especially an unknown rookie maybe like Natalie Portman in The Professional or this True Blood chic is the Pianist. Cut him some slack jare. He's bringing acting back.

The Good Shepherd. Robert De Niro directed this film which was news to me. Not bad. Not bad at all.
