Lol, MyJoe. I actually used to watch in the old days. But then I used to think the congregation didn't really believe what they were hearing but figure it's their duty to go to church. But now it seems they buy the whole thing, hook, line and sinker. There are the other types too. The ones who seem honest but they are really nothing but bitter about not being able to get into the act also. |
Considering that you've managed to spell 'What's up' in three exciting fragrances, I mean, ways, I'd say you were not yet skipping rope in the 80s. I'm dandy. You're supposed to be moderator of the movie section :-/ |
^^^. . . . are in doubt or the people who are being preached to are hopelessly deluded. It was once public opinion that the earth was flat or that it was the centre of the universe/solar system. I'm not an atheist but that doesn't mean I won't concede the fact that their case is stronger. Religion brings a lotta woe to the world. I daresay it is the singular worst thing to ever happen to humanity. |
Gbam. Well, Nuke, I'm not sure I know what to say now. All I do wonder is this. Chuksxp I'd bet is one of the smarter ones among the miracle-junkie-zombie ranks. If he is beyond salvage as he seems, the rest (and surely majority) are beyond even miracles. It's a sad sad situation. |
Wait. Wait. Wait. Oyedepo's wife also has a jet? If that's true then I think I'll be stunned into silence. It'll no longer be funny. |
Nuke! You want to kill me? I rarely laugh out loud. My brother thinks I have no sense of humour when I don't laugh watching sitcoms. Actually it's not lack, it's an advanced sense of humour. I digress o. I laughed out loud cuz of your description of God. People like to think of God as pure unadulterated love. I think if you can love which God can, you automatically can hate. There can be no north without south. What's light without dark. I'm sort of back now oga. Your reply is apt and simple. The way I like it served. Good and evil are mostly relative. We murder millions of farm animals but no one gets preachy when eating a burger. Is it not evil and mass murder to kill livestock? People like to say for instance that a man goes to hell based on the choices he made. Let's assume there's hell, blazing and all that, wouldn't you question the one who presented him with those choices knowing that the sucker is handicapped in choosing wisely? It's like giving a child the option of swimming in boiling oil and wading in cotton candy. If the child chooses to swim (that's one dumb child) I will ask why should there be such a choice at all to begin with? No one who believes in hell will actively seek it. In the end, you can question all you want. Just don't jump off a bridge when an answer is not forthcoming. |
That Sagamite's post is priceless. First time I think I'll condone a post that involves cursing. He took ALL the words out of my mouth and I'm thoroughly satisfied and relieved as though I posted it. Seven gbosas for you man |
It's not bad. I don't see it going more than 2 seasons, 3 on the outside. As for your misgivings, the series wasn't made for the Nigerian audience and I can assure you, the whites folks can't tell which accent from which. |
Lemme help you. 'ke' means cry. Creepily, it fits all the contexts with which they used it. 'Oro' means talk (noun). 'Dun' means hurt (verb). This sucks. Nuke said 'the talk pain am, e wan cry.' Joagbaje said 'who tell you say your talk pain somebody' |
Good man. |
No man, I wasn't talking about this thread. Just generally, the term "bible god" or "christian god" comes up and I wonder what the need for the prefix is? Why not just God? I enjoy the fiction, alright |
When these ones get richer. Phew, apparently this list is for 2010. My water almost broke seeing Stephanie Meyer in 2nd. Patterson is not bad and his books are simply the easiest to read but he's certainly not great. Koontz is a King knock off. Many times he comes alarmingly close. King's one to talk. He's absolutely awesome but his bad books are many and that fact is mitigated (almost rubbed off) by the fact that his great books are plenty more |
Interesting. My positions of Godly matters may seem unsympathetic to most people but what I really am is a brutally honest person seeking answers and without interest in fantastic or sensational colourations. In lieu of the above I'll say to the people who will no doubt soon reply the poster this: If God didn't create evil and we brought it about then He also didn't create goodness. If God created goodness then He also created evil. It really is that simple. Keep in mind that lack of goodness doesn't automatically mean presence of evil and vice versa. A merciless person doesn't have to be evil. A harmless person is not necessarily good either. God does what He wants. I don't think he is 'unfathomable love' like some wishful thinkers. |
Done with Kane and Abel. Funny, I didn't enjoy it as the first time. I'm looking thru different older glasses I guess. To Kill a Mockingbird next |
Lol. Oga Kobikwelu, in as much as I totally feel your pain, we're reviewing MOVIES here which 'CLASSIC' acting is simply a part of. In any case, we run a democracy here. Sometimes majority vote sucks. |
@Vieira. You just disappear since. I've forgotten what it was you used to be fanatical about. Was it Spiderman? @Obinna. Patrick's Viera has one 'i'. |
JeSoul watches Fringe na. I expect nothing less. Match making service, huh? All the people I used to eye are not all that anymore except one. So this means you and Manmustwac will have the dirt on everyone eh? JeSoul Edgar Hoover BTW, make una make Nuclearboy a mod. He takes no prisoners, lol |
Oops! I guess that counts as a comment. |
Lol. I'm tempted to make a long comment but I won't. Even though I don't believe NDEs mean anything more than heightened brain activity, what constitutes proof differs from person to person and I don't see the NDE proponents here trying to convince you of its verity, Mazaje |
Vieira! I thought you had died and gone to heaven. I remember you from the early days when I wasn't a train wreck. I haven't watched this The Wire. Doyin3 once raved about it but I think the one I watched was an old version. But that doesn't make Elba phenomenal jo. Some roles fit actors. An actor is supposed to fit a role. Jamie Foxx and Nicolas Cage are both Oscar winners. Up Arsenal, padre |
Spidey first then maybe Gump later |
You this Kobikwelu sef. One would think you produced those films. Where's the Speaker of the House, Obinna? |
Hilarious stuff. Why do atheists seem to have a problem with the 'bible god' or 'christian god' in particular? |
Sherlock Holmes is so phenomenal that Arthur Conan Doyle seems insignificant. It's as if he exists by himself. ACD like Roald Dahl suffer the fate of too grand an imagination that brings their characters more fame than they. Frankly, I dunno how many Sherlock Holmes adventures I've read. |
. . . . . . . Maybe y'all need to review movies I've seen. Look at this, Jay. I've seen all the movies on your list. I think I'll go with V jnr. Spiderman trilogy sounds nice. Wonder how we'd missed it before sef |
Hey there, MyJoe. Now they're angels. Arch angels no less. If I were a Christian teacher, I'd just teach: accept Jesus as your lord and saviour and ignore most everything else. They don't really matter |
When will you people review a film I've seen? Nonsense and ingredients! |
I nearly bust a gut when someone said something about the Holy Spirit manifesting in seven ways. That takes me back! The seven manifestations of a manifestation. Seriously though, I have no idea what the writer of revelation had in mind but all this poetic drama makes me ache. |
LOL at the last post. @Harakiri. I hope you're not suicidal. The questions you asked if you will admit it are really not questions at all. They are statements and you're hoping to be proven wrong. Well, you cannot be proven wrong because you're right. Some sophisticated Christians would rather do away with the old testament altogether. It is plain offensive in most parts especially now that Jesus seems so harmless. I wonder which part of the trinity was Yahweh? Maybe all three. But if it will bring you some comfort, Harakiri, not all the books in the bible or the verses in the books are genuinely written by the people they are claimed to be. Whether what the original apostles or prophets wrote can be taken as absolute truth is another matter. This is a case of original lies/myths/confusions and modified or added lies/myths/confusions. |
OR YOU PROVE I get your point anyway though I think wisdom and intelligence are not the same thing. Many times they are mutually exclusive. Peace bro. You're alright |
Context, mon ami. The bible was not originally English. I'd bet my sixth toe that 'wise' there meant full of guile i.e. Guilty. Little children mean innocent. You're definitely not a child, why then do you translate wise literally? Besides, do you suggest God withholds enlightenment from those with grey matter but reveals Himself to people with botched lobotomies? |
Christmas came early! Where's that Courvoisier? |
