20-year-old Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole has died after jumping into the River Thames in a bid to help a woman who fell off London Bridge, in United Kingdom.

The Sun UK reports that Adewole saw the woman fall into the river and jumped in the water along with another man just after midnight on Saturday, April 25. Emergency services, including the coastguard and police marine units, were called to the scene to help all three people who were in the water.

They rescued the woman and one of the men who jumped into the river to help her, but were unable to locate the other. His body was tragically found six hours later.

Jimi was on his way home from work at fine dining restaurant The Cinnamon Club in Westminster when he spotted the woman on the bridge. After seeing her fall into the water he dived in to try and save her, along with his colleague.

Describing what happened, his dad, Michael Adewola, 63, said, “Him and his friend were coming from work together, and they called the police, and saw what was happening. They wanted to help and tried to speak to her but wanted to leave it to the police.

He is a hero, and always will be, I can’t bring him back but I want him to be remembered forever for what he did, it was just like him to want to always try and help others. He would help anyone that needed it. I am proud of my son, he is amazing, but as a family we are devastated. We are just glad the woman is alive too.” �: TheSunUK

A man has gone on trial in Spain for allegedly killing his mother, cutting up her body and eating her remains.

Alberto Sánchez Gómez was arrested in 2019 after police went to the home of his 66-year-old mother following concerns from a friend.

Police said they found body parts scattered around the apartment - some kept in plastic containers.

The defendant has told the court he does not remember dismembering and eating his mother.

He is reported to have been suffering from a personality disorder as well as a drug habit prior to his arrest.

Spanish media say he had been known to police because of violence against his mother, María Soledad Gómez, and that he had breached a restraining order at the time of his arrest.

The court heard of the macabre scene police found at the home in eastern Madrid in February 2019.

Some of the human remains were in the process of being cooked and others stored in containers, El Mundo newspaper reports.

The defendant, who was 26 at the time, reportedly confessed to strangling his mother and said he had sometimes eaten the body parts and sometimes given them to the dog.

A young man identified as Mr Olokose Oluwasola Ojo, has been murdered in cold blood, by his next-door neighbour, Kazeem Mohammed and his gang, for ritual purposes in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Vanguard reports that the deceased was murdered exactly six days to his wedding, by Kazeem, who was a serial killer and ritualist who had twice served jail terms. It was gathered that the suspect had convinced the deceased to follow him to Patigi, his hometown, to purchase three cows for the wedding, which he claimed are worth N350,000.

On Monday, March 8, 2021, the duo had journeyed to Patigi, with the intention to buy the cows but unfortunately for the deceased, he was ambushed by other members of the gang who kidnapped him and dispossessed him of N1.2million including the N350,000 for the cows. They also contacted his family and demanded N12million ransom.

After much pleadings by the relations, the suspected ritualists agreed to N3M to be paid before he could be released for his wedding. However, the suspected ritualists reportedly killed the victim shortly after the relations paid part of the ransom demanded.
After the victim had been killed and sensitive parts of his body removed, the ritualists reportedly poured acid on his remains for speedy decay and to prevent it from fouling the area.

An Islamic terror group linked to ISIS has released a video which shows them executing a Coptic Christian man in what they say was revenge for him assisting Egyptian security forces.

62-year-old Nabil Habashi Salama was shot in the back of the head and the video was then distributed to news agencies. The video also shows two other tribespeople being shot dead by the terror group.

The killer speaks on camera and says that it is a warning to all Christians of Egypt that this is what will happen to them if they support the Egyptian Army.

Salama had been kidnapped by the group in November after he was pounced on in the street and thrown in a car. It is believed that he was involved in the rebuilding of Christian churches that had been destroyed by Islamist attacks.

Egypt has fought a long battle against Islamist militants, particularly in the Sinai-peninsula, and thousands have died in fighting over the last few years. The group involved in this attack is thought to be Wilayat Sinai, a group which swore allegiance to ISIS in 2014.

The group has been behind a number of attacks including, an attack on an Egyptian gas pipeline, bomb attacks that killed 50 Egyptian soldiers, and an attack on a Russian passenger jet which was shot out of the sky killing 224 people. After it swore allegiance to ISIS the group received weapons, money and training that has made their attacks even deadlier.

Egyptian Christians, which number in the millions, have also been a prime target for the extremists.

The group bombed a Christian parade on Palm Sunday with suicide bombers that killed 50 people. A month later, a bus carrying Christians was attacked leaving a further 28 people dead. The group has also targeted different Muslim sects that do not support their ideology.

Around 7,000 jihadists have been killed by Egyptian security forces in recent years, more than 27,000 have been captured and imprisoned.

Many have been drawn to the Islamist movement after the perceived failures of the Egyptian revolution and growing economic and political instability in the country.
