Mind you, I took the story from our early days at the university, we are both grad now and she is 29.

Romance / Should I Go On And Marry Her? by vibrant40(m): 8:40pm On Jun 21, 2023
Okay. I met this girl in an exam hall, we were both writing exams, so we did the student things, she asked me a maths question which she was kind of afraid of and me being a maths person answered her question and moved on with with my exams. After the exams she search for me to say her gratitude and we moved on. I think after the results was released and she got an A in the exams was when she had to find me and got me on Facebook. She chatted me and introduced herself, so we began chatting from there and that was how I got to know she is my kind of woman.

I asked her out, we started dating or lemme say I started dating her because at a pint she told me we were only friends during the time, be she do come to my side, we do touch and kiss but no s*x. Down the lane I got to know she had a guy whom she was dating but she could not marry because she has so many revelations and dreams that he is not the one and according to her, the guy had so many red flags. At a point I put it to her she should choose what she wanted on time, the guy or myself.

According to her she choose me. Along the line, she told me about another guy disturbing her for romantic relationship, because no matter what she will tell me anything even if she knows I am gonna hurt by that, although I do take it that she is trying to literally tell me to do quick and pop the question if I really want to marry her. All of a sudden I observe she was receiving a Seyi call till like 12midnight, and I would want to call her only for her to be busy on another call for a lengthy period.

She will not stop talking about this guy whenever we are together, how good the guy is to her, she even was like we have the same character but only that the guy is taller than I am and she had also never shy away from talking about the physically height of her dream children.

I saw all these as competition and keep letting her know how much I love and want to marry her. One afternoon, she just rang me and said just a sentence, 'I will marry you'. Well that gave me the assurance I needed, I met her mother (dad is late) and I must confess she has a very good mother, the mom checks on me everyday (infact she did while I was typing this epistle). I popped the questions and she said yes. We had our introduction and currently planing on getting married.

The problem now is, she would still not stop talking about this Seyi guy. She even called me one to tell me she went to his house, that the guy called home to come, I confronted her so many times to tell her how I felt about it, she kept saying sorry and keep repeating the same thing of no cutting loose from the guy, she even claimed that at least she is not having s*x with now that they are just talking..

Some days ago we had a serious argument about this matter and she was like maybe we should even end the relationship if I don't trust her (and this has always been her anthem whenever we have serious arguments, she would say maybe we are not compatible). She later apologized and promised not to let that happen again that she would cut loose of the guy, only for us to be talking via whatsapp last night around 11:40 for to receive this guys call and they spoke for like 10mins. I ended my call, she called back later and was like it was just an innocent talk they had....

Seriously, I am tired and confused, what should I do? Please help me with your candid advice. So sorry for the long epistle and some bad grammar.

Hi everyone,

I salute all the great programmers in the house. More knowledge to your brain.

I am new to programming, although I have the zeal since I was very young, I have always wanted to work for Etisalat grin.

I began Python some weeks ago and I think I am done with the basics. But with the many news online and as a Nigerian who want to make at least some cash for upkeep, I feel lost. I kept seeing Python as something that is not gonna bring me some cash any time soon (please don't think I am money oriented, you know there is SAPA everywhere now.)

Please sirs, what is your advice for on the path of programming I should to at least make some money by December?

And please sirs, I need a mentor please for goodness sake.

somebody should just gimme chance and lemme be his mentee pleaseeeeeee

Nairaland / General / Royal Niger Company: How Nigeria Transformed From A Business Into A Country by vibrant40(m): 5:11pm On Apr 20, 2019
The Brass Oil War eventually led to the creation of Nigeria as a country.
Most nations are formed under the table of brotherhood, tribes and ethnic groups coming together to form a united state.
Not every nation on earth can say this and Nigeria is one of them. For decades many have wondered why unity has been hard to attain among the tribes in this country.
The answer lies in our history. Nigeria was not formed by groups or tribes who saw purpose in unity. Nigeria is as a result of Britain’s commercial interest in West Africa.
Then Nigeria was once known as the slave coast but by 1870 that had changed. Britain had lost its appetite for slaves and preferred palm oil. In the 19th century, Britain was the first industrialized nation in the world and it needed palm oil as a lubricant for its machines.
Here comes Nigeria. The country or what was Nigeria back then had a lot of palm oil, the majority of it tucked in the lush vegetation of the Nigeria Delta which ironically has been polluted by another type of oil.
The demand for Nigeria’s palm oil was huge. A man known as George Goldie would be an important figure in Nigeria’s palm oil business. In 1879, he formed the United African Company .
With the lack of structure in the palm oil business, with Niger-Deltans sold to the highest bidder, Goldie was able to control the region of the Lower Niger River. In 1884 his business had boomed that he had 30 trading points along the Lower Niger essentially creating a monopoly for the Brutish to capitalize on
The Berlin Conference should be highlighted here. The conference gave the British access to the Lower Niger and left very little for the Germans and French. In 1886, George Goldie started moving inwards into River Niger and Benue, a clear violation of the gentleman’s agreement he had made with the chiefs. It was initially agreed that the United African Company would not pass the coastal areas.
Also within the same year, the United African Company was turned to Royal Niger Company . George Goldie’s business operation was far from fair.
They tricked the native chiefs (including Jaja of Opobo ) into signing agreements that gave them the exclusive rights to export palm oil after initially agreeing that free trade would not be obstructed. The Chiefs fell for the promise and signed the dubious contracts that were written in English.
When Jaja of Opobo wanted to export his own palm oil, he was accused of obstructing commerce and sent into exile. On his way back home in 1891, he was poisoned with a cup of tea (sounds familiar?).
The story of Jaja of Opobo made chiefs and rulers to be wary of their deals with the Royal Niger Company. Frederick William Koko Mingi VIII of Nembe popularly known as
King Koko was one of such rulers.
The born-again monarch who was formerly a school teacher detested the restriction on trading and did business with the Germans directly.
In 1894, after the Royal Niger Company introduced more restrictions, Koko Mingi VIII denounced Christianity and formed an alliance with the Bonny and Okpoma to take down the company.
Unfortunately, the Bonny refused the alliance. This did not stop the rebellion. History has it that Koko Mingi VIII led an attack on the Royal Niger Company headquarters on January 29, 1895. The headquarters was at Akassa in Bayelsa.
The attack saw the king capture, 60 white men, while losing forty of his soldiers. Using the 60 men as hostages King Koko Mingi wanted the RNC to allow him to choose his trade partners. If the company granted his wish, he would release the men.
The Royal Niger Company did not yield. King Koko killed forty of the men he captured. As retaliation, the Britain’s Royal Navy attacked Brass and levelled it completely on February 20, 1895.
An uneasy calm was restored and the British had their way. King Koko was on the run. As punishment, the people of Brass were fined £500. Their weapons were taken from them also.
King Koko moved into exile after rejecting the terms of the British after the British Parliamentary Commission. He committed suicide as an outlaw in 1898.
The war was, however, a bad PR look for the Royal Niger Company. Great Britain revoked its charter in 1899.
The Royal Niger Company sold its territory (Nigeria) to the British government for £865,000. In 1914, the Southern protectorate and Northern protectorate were amalgamated by Lord Lugard.
Royal Niger Company changed its name to
The Niger Company Ltd. In later was absorbed by UNILEVER.

"Bring down by all means their postal boy PYO, label him a fake Pastor and let the house raise false allegations against him" this is one of the many ways of bringing down this masses welfare driven government.

What FFK did not tell us is how his pay master who allegedly earns 30m a month could have the financial capacity to fly over 50 elites to Dubai {as if Nigeria lacks hospitality} for strategies on how to take back Nigeria.
Well, it is yielding results already at least for them.

Politics / Re: British High Commission Speaks On Ban Of 50 Politicians By Buhari by vibrant40(m): 9:20pm On Oct 16, 2018
life2017:
Foreign countries loves Buhari Anti corruption stands.
Foreign countries monitor corrupt money leaving Nigeria.

They support Buhari because they can see the drastic decline in offshore accounts controlled by politicians.
For foreign countries, they don't differentiate corrupt Nigerians on the basis of APC/PDP.
For them, corrupt Nigerians are being prosecuted. That is perfect for them.

While Nigerians are saying Buhari corruption fight is not working, the most developed countries in the world that actually monitor the flow of corrupt funds are all saying Buhari is doing a good job on Corruption. US President Donald Trump acknowledged it. Former US Ambassador to Nigeria aknowledge it. Former UK prime minister Cameron acknowledged it. What more evidence do we need to believe that the anti corruption of Buhari is working. Though it is slow with some perceived selectivity, but it is moving forward.

Or are we saying except corruption is reduced to zero completely that is only when we will agree Buhari is working? That is too much expectation to expect even in 20years for a country like Nigeria with structural corruption according to former US ambassador to Nigeria !!!

Buhari have some areas he is underperforming. But the most stupid and foolish thing Nigerians can do is to elect Atiku, a known kleptomania and crook to the office of the president. It is like an open invitation of Arm robbers to your safe.

I keep hearing Atiku is a business man.
Which business did atiku do that have helped Nigeria manufacturing, which is the fundamental problem of Nigeria?

Atiku businesses are mostly rent seeking easy businesses which take advantage of closeness to power to enrich himself!

People keep saying how Atiku owns Intels. Atiku does not own Intels. Intels belong to an Italian business man. Atiku only used his political influence to own shares in Intels for his political cover for intels abuse of Nigeria system.

Some argue Buhari has no company or business. Obama has no company. Theresa May prime minister of UK has no company. Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton has no businesses. Etc. Actually most leaders of advanced countries are public servants who never own a private business. President Donald Trump is among few excemptions

Others argue the anti corruption is selective. It is true it is relatively selective. Buhari has no choice than to be selective. The whole political class in Nigeria are corrupts. Can he fight them all at once? Who then will he work with? How will he be able to govern fighting all the powerful political class at once? It is only a matter if native wisdom to chose your battle. Work with some and prosecute some. That is the only way you can fight corruption in Nigeria which is endemic.

United State of America apply the same selectivity in thier corruption fight. They give some corrupt people immunity in other to get evidence on others who are corrupt. As we can see in the case of Paul Manofort and Rick gates.
May God bless you beyond your imagination.

I need advice from those who know about this football viewing centre things in Nigeria to help me with information about starting the business.

I need information on things like, price of DSTV decoders and packages to subscribe for.

Type of decoder to buy, because the business is to be started in a low signal environment.

I believe three televisions is enough for a start, economical price for each and probably price.

I know those in the business use extra view, please explain how it works and which decoders are compatible for it.

The best type of generator for the business taking its durability and life span in perspective not forgetting its economic factors.

Thanks in anticipation. You know náà man must survive in this current dispensation.

Politics / Which Way? Naija! by vibrant40(m): 10:22pm On Jul 07, 2018
---A certain group of terrorists organised themselves for the sole aim of unleashing death on innocent Nigerians.

---The President tried at every given opportunity to convince the world that they are Libyans once armed by Gaddafi, avenging the death of Gaddafi.

---The president began to canvass that the ancestral lands of Nigerians being forcefully taken and given to these "Libyans" who invaded Nigeria.

---The people refused and instead urged the government to arrest and prosecute the Libyans killing them over their own lands.

--The people begged the government to arrest, prosecute, kill or allow them defend themselves against the "Libyans".

--The government warned that anyone who touches any of the "Libyans" will be arrested and prosecuted instead.

---They killed, killed and are killing.

---Each time they killed, a group of herdsmen under the name "Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association" claimed responsibilities for the killings and at every point, they are given platforms to explain why they are killing with an early morning "tea cup".

---The President kept claiming the killers are Libyans, even while the Nigeria herders association claimed responsibilities.

---Five young men ignored the government warning and killed one of the "Libyans" while they were carrying out attack in their community and killed 48 persons. They were arrested, prosecuted and sentenced to death by hanging within a very short period.

---To avoid further attempt to kill the "Libyans", the armed forces of the government invaded the homes of all religious and traditional leaders in search of weapons. They found none. The idea was to dispossess them of all weapons of defence.

---The government went abroad to announce to the world that the only remedy to the killings is that all Nigerians must open up their lands to accommodate them and give unfettered access to their herds to feed on their farms.

---The people stood on their decisions. No going back.

---The government stood on her decisions. No going back.

---The killings continued. The few "Libyans" that were arrested after global cry were tactically released for lack of diligent prosecution. Note, the same government is the body responsible for prosecution.

---The "Libyans" were secretly called, given monetary compensation for their wrong prosecutions. One "height-challenged" Governor from the north couldn't keep his mouth shut. He announced the gesture in pride.

---The "Libyans" were encouraged. This time they bought more sophisticated weapons to kill. They launched several attacks, displaced citizens off their lands, took over those lands and renamed them. As at today, over 52 communities have been captured and renamed by "Libyans".

---There is a need to conquer more territories. They went for more.

---At a goal, the "Libyans" killed over 400 persons. The government spokesmen openly took over their defence. "You can't rustle their cattle, block their pathways and expect them not to kill", they told the world. "Leave your land if you don't want to live under the land", they admonished.

Now the twist:

---The government turned around claiming the killings are sponsored by opposition parties. They insist that they are political killings.

---A certain pastor decided to curse all those behind the killings.

---The opposition accused by the government are screaming "amen" to his prayers but the same government is calling for the arrest and prosecution of the pastor who is cursing "the opposition behind the killings".

---The government is going from one place to another appealing that Nigerians give up their ancestral lands to the "Libyans" and the killers sponsored by "the opposition" if they want to stay alive.

---In the twist, the government has, shamelessly, given us 3 different narratives:

a. The killers are from Libya who took over specific places in Africa to avenge the death of Gaddafi;

b. The herdsmen are killing because they need grazing areas for their herds;

c. The opposition, especially PDP are sponsoring hoodlums to carry out the killings for political reasons.

In its effort to confuse us and the world, the government has ended up confusing itself.

Now tell me why even a coconut head cannot process what's happening in Nigeria.

Anyway, my aim is to tell my story so history will not be twisted when it's needed.

Good evening!

Cashew exportation is growing in Nigeria as we got a news not quite long that Nigeria is now fourth on the ladder of countries exporting the cashew nut.
This farming I tag stress free farming considering the other agro allied business.
Making a research on this I got to know that you can make a whopping 8 million naira per year on just an acre of land of cashew trees. Only what you need is to be patient with time. Because your patience will surely be rewarded.
As a young Nigerian my advice is let's not allow those vast land in our villages waste in vain. Let's make the sacrifice of planting some cashew tree on them now as it will not be bad to go home for a month and come back with some millions!
