Travel / Re: Portugal Job Seekers Visa by vibrant99(m): 10:49pm On Jun 04
Are you replying to me based on what you heard or are you in Portugal?

No one, No Jobseeker Gets Residency in 6months..... none!

The only and fastest way to Residency is tru Study for 6 Months maximum if you meet the requirements.

Job seeker is another Manifestation of Interest but a Faster approach.

You get a job and go for your appointment, with your job contract, Then for the next 3 months, your TAX is reviewed.

This is where it gets tricky, A Portuguese employer doesn't file Taxes for you because they pay you by hand, ( they are also beating the system).

How then do you file your Taxes? You approach a lawyer and he/she uses the minimum wage to arrange your taxes and help you document them, this is also expensive.

If you get an Employer who will pay you by Your Tax account, you will earn less because he will also pay direct taxes for you than some who pays you by hand, this person who pays you by hand will pay you more.

lady25:

I really appreciate it that you are looking out for people. But it's not that bad.
1.You don't need lawyer for Job seeker visa. Maybe those that used the tourist visa do. But for jobseeker visa you don't need a lawyer
2. Once you get a job every other thing is settled.
Although getting a job can be a VERY difficult but if u have a skill and basic knowledge of portugese you are good to go. A friend got a plumbing job in two weeks. I got mine a little later. Some people get jobs some don't. You never know till you try. Everyone has different grace. But trust me the job seeker visa is the best path to getting your residency. If all goes well in less than 6 months you have your card. But like I said getting the job is most important
3. The language. Please and please learn before you come. It makes your lire easier... I wish I did. It would even help get a job speedily
4.please come with enough money to sustain you till you get a job. U don't want to sleep outside o. Come with money. Lol

This Jobseeker and Job seeker wey I dey hear everywhere .... Una dey try to ask the people wey don enter Portugal with this visa, HOW FAR?

This visa is a TRAP, making life very difficult for those already on the ground.

From No JOBS to bringing a PERMIT and not Recognizing your JOBSEEKER visa .... Many things are happening inside.

Don't forget that getting the Job is not even the toughest, The TAX (3-6 months), as Portuguese employers don't file your tax for you, You have to pay a lawyer or accountant to file your invincible TAXES.

Make your inquiries oo, apart from say the Visa Rejection rate sef LOUD.

The bolded was what I replied which was straight forward, the explanation here should be what you should use to clarify yourself, ..... it wasn't even an arguement .
It is real but don’t expect any appointment openings until early February 2024, that’s if they’ll continue offering that visa type to Nigerians

YeyeBoyfriend:
We aren’t talking about VFS appointment, any appointment coming from VFS is for tourist visa applications only, we talking about work and job seekers visa appointments which you can’t get on VFS website but that of the embassy directly, please read to comprehend and not to argue

The accompany visa application doesn't work that Fast, some could take as much as 3-6 months before the dependent comes out.

You can wait, or go ahead of them. they would approve it.

DARLYNBOI:
My student visa for a Master programme just got approved in November (last month) but my wife who applied along with me as a dependant is yet to receive any call from the embassy till date and I am in panic mode because we intend to leave Nigeria latest by Jan ending and we have started selling our household items.
I can't leave her alone in Nigeria because her parents are no more alive and it will definitely be dangerous to live apart because our marriage is just about 3years old.
I need someone to advise me and wish to know how student with similar experience were able to secure approval for their spouse and what is the longest period it took from experience.

This is false news, The Appointment opened at month's end, and the one for December closed on November 23rd.

These dates open anytime from ever 20th of the month for the ascending month, and it is quickly filled up within 24 hours.

So you have to be online Checking for the dates every single day on the VFS website.

First of all,

You cannot get a residence permit outside Portugal even if you apply from heaven.

Make una dey calm down on this Thread.

You have residence and you can't find accommodation? you can't even be issued residence without "JUNTA" (Junta is proof of accommodation)

You can only go to VFS on your appointment date and if they won't be there you will get a message from them earlier for those dates or appointments.

In his words...."If you want to travel, don't listen to anyone"

even the experience of the OP is not a yardstick for judging China, you cannot say that is how it appears everywhere and for everyone,... Your drive is your ability, other people have theirs.

So the story should be taken as an insight not a foresight of China.

Avoid using dumped money to apply for a Schengen visa, The idea is not that you have plenty of money but that you have a RUNNING business or investment that is active, for example, You are more reliable if you have 10 million running through your account as debit and Credit and a balance of 100k, than someone who has 30 million sitting in the account for 6 months without being used or touched (they know you do borrow money for proof of funds), this also applies to visiting visa Canada!

Askgod117:
Introduction letter
Company CAC
6 Months Bank statement
Waste management and carriage Permit
Personal and company Tax
Company Receipts
Proof of Ownership of my Trucks and my personal car
2 Landed Properties
Fully paid Hotel reservation and 7 days Barcelona pass which I think is very important....but please ensure you do the hotel that can give you free cancellation should incase they refuse oo and some do not refund your full amount, sometimes they can charge a night from it.
I hope this information is going to help.

Apply from Nigeria, and go also to the embassy to enquire what you will need to do in case there is an update.

Good day house. I just started my application for a visa to Paris as a tourist for I and my family ( family of 4; I, my wife and 2 kids).
I've been reading extensively almost daily to get a good grasp of the whole process.

I'm currently stuck at the page fir hotel and accommodation. I tried using booking.com to get a hotel and pay on arrival. It asked for my card details which I have filled out but still didn't go through. I've tried some other Nigerian bank cards but still to no avail.
Please can you help recommend any other site one can book and pay later without the hurdles of using an Ngn card. I've also attached a screenshot of the error messaged on booking.com and the section I'm in on the visa application website
Thanks

Funny enough you can"t even get such offers in Europe, Maybe India could sponsor you to come work but not IT in Europe.

Only Canada Maybe.

better still learn the skill in Europe and you can move anywhere you want worldwide, If you are never ready to spend your money to go Europe then naija suppose dey ok for you.

One of my Guy is leaving for Europe in January, He is a Games Programmer, He got a Job to design something over there, company is owned by a NIgerian, The amount the Europeans and Indians are charging him there, He will pay the Nigerians guy with it 10 Times.

You have a wrong mentality about europe , you have been following the crowd for a long time!

tensazangetsu20:

Yeah definitely if I get an European company that sponsors me today I will definitely leave since it's a huge stepup from Nigeria but it's not a place I will like to settle in but in terms of using my own money to relocate myself, I won't try moving to Europe at all. So long as na my pocket the money go commot from.
Travel / Re: Why Are Salaries In Europe So Low? by vibrant99(m): 8:01pm On Dec 27, 2022
EUROPE is the doorway to the world of IT, Most of the IT jobs in the US and Canada are Contracted to Europeans and Most of them prefer to work remotely than come over to the US (You heard that right).

Noticed that Canada has really been recruiting Africans a lot recently, Europeans won't take such an amount from them, unless na US and CANADA just dey ur mind, but I doubt if you have a way you wouldn't go to Europe.

Na we Africans, Nigerians most especially this US and Canada dey SHAG, ...... someone doing well in Europe wants to remain in Europe.

Is just like saying a South Africa person, Namibia person, Lesotho person, or Liberia person is killing them self to go the US or Canada!

even the Naija wey u dey , if Dollar can be 200- 300 Naira to $1, Plenty people go come back house, couple with the good government.... wic kind Canada ? are you not seeing the cold right now? the ICE? its depressing brother, its not our thing as Africans forget the hype!

tensazangetsu20:

Yeah I am in IT. LoL I don't really fancy Europe like that. Thanks for the advice though.
Travel / Re: Why Are Salaries In Europe So Low? by vibrant99(m): 7:09pm On Dec 27, 2022
TECH job? or do you mean FACTORIES doing TECH, I don't understand.

we are over 200 Million Nigerian and You said someone (1) got a Job?

How many Nigerians are in Germany?

Let me now burst Your bubble, without any form of education and document, You won't even get paid doing does menial Jobs, Don't convince yourself of very bad decisions.

I am not discouraging you, but please don't encourage yourselves wrongly

I noticed you are into IT topics too, Choose Portugal over Germany!

tensazangetsu20:

This isn't true. A Nigerian recently got a job in Germany and he doesnt even have a university degree

https://techcabal.com/2022/10/14/digital-nomads-from-nigeria-to-germany-with-a-e30000-pay-cut/

Even here on nairaland, a few people have been able to achieve this feat
Travel / Re: Why Are Salaries In Europe So Low? by vibrant99(m): 6:42pm On Dec 27, 2022
Lots of Jobs in Germany but still a herculean task getting it, without a document.

You can't get a TECH job without documents in Germany, maybe Factory or Agriculture.

In Portugal, there are no menial Jobs, even if its nonsense Job, You will bring a document (NIF),

with your documents, you will get Jobs in Portugal, and there are more jobs than people, due to the low population and strictness in getting one.

In summer alone, The number of Europeans who go to Portugal to work nears half of the population of Portugal.

tensazangetsu20:

He's talking about tech jobs not menial jobs.
Travel / Re: Why Are Salaries In Europe So Low? by vibrant99(m): 3:48pm On Dec 27, 2022
A lie that was discovered by somebody in IKERE-EKITI, a Village in EKITI state , with a Bala-Blu Internet connection!

I forgive you.

You cant even work in Portugal without Document, Maybe because lots of people in Germany work for Undertable Payment and preferably more Jobs, doesn't Make it Easier.

Find anyone who works in Portugal and ask them what they earn Legally, .....You will do Vigilante work in Portugal for $100/h a Night in Lisbon, Please verify!

seunoni34:

This is a lie though. The easiest country in europe to get a job still remains germany. Germany has issued more blue card visas alone than all EU countries combined

Travel / Re: Swedish Admissions And Student Visa by vibrant99(m): 8:41pm On Dec 19, 2022
I think Portugal is Migrant friendly than sweden < maybe you never considered it,,

If you get a permanent resience of any part of Europe it applies everywhere , same as the opportunity.

within 5 Yrs in portugal you will be liable to apply, ...

You may choose to stay there or move , i know you would come for the economy of portugal but things werent viewed that way.

when my Cousin was in POLAND , it was very very poor,

I lived in Moscow for years to know that people stay on the internet to say just what they want , I lived in a region in Moscow that i was the only black guy alive in more than 20km radius, i hardly see any black guys , only those that market products and the guys doing delivery but this were only in parks.

Russians are the nicest humans i have ever met , they love blacks and would ask for photographs every time , anyway, i am buld and 7ft Tall, sometimes they think am american, I have met Nigerians doing well there and i am happy for them.

everybody wont be in the US, or Canada, I just feel people who can get very far uses their perspective in their discussions, people are doing very well in Sweden , I know a brother who is a nurse , he speaks the language fluently ....

I think we should allow people migrate and be who they are , forget this US and Canada Craze, I live in Canada myself but sincerely i would prefer europe tommorow , nothing special here!

an igbo adage says , "where person no dey, dey always Hungry am".....

people are doing so well in malay, Ghana , Togo, cotonou .......Nigerians power up anywhere they are, forget language ....

I was at the airport in Paris when i saw this woman with 4 sons, all of them had Italian Passport, with that alone she caan go anywhere !

Wrap46:
Wow that’s very interesting, your cousin most have raised a good capital to have such business.

I have a friends in Poland, Swedish/Gambian who are studying medicine in Poland who dislike the racist remarks the have experience in Poland and bluntly say that most Africans in Poland are either married to polish women for papers or have babies with polish women to secure their papers.

I personally visited Poland, Warsaw,Poznań and Wrocław five years ago. Upon getting there I noticed that racism is still bluntly a thing and also polish girls love our black brothers a lot and income there is below thresholds for Swedes like me.

No lemme educate you on something, if as an African trying to move to Europe, I would prefer you move to Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Paris and Scandinavia countries.

This countries are somewhat immigrant friendly provided that you are 100 fluent with the language.

Is racism everywhere ? Yeah it is, as love and hate is natural to coexist.

Will I advice my younger siblings to move to those countries knowing that they are career? minded ?

I would say it depends on 2 things.

1) if they are studying something that is in high demand with less native tongue (Engineering and IT careers) then I would approve if that was the last option.

2) If they have no interest in any of those professional categories then I will advice they move to a native language immigrant friendly countries like the USA etc.

If I was a a francophone African countries and my French is my official language I would personal move to Belgium,Switzerland, france and any other French countries out there. The reason is that I will be able to stand up for myself while asked why I wanna work as a doctor or a project manager.

Do you get it ?

I have to say this countless time, if the only option you have to japa is Europe then go for it but still have it at the back of your mind that 80% of none English European countries are not immigration friendly. You either marry a citizen to get your Pr, have a baby with someone legally residing in the country of your choice to get a pr, seek for asylum( which I doubt the grant for Nigerians) or get lucky to get a company to sponsor your visa.

Now abt asylum seekers in Europe. I don’t know how good you guys follow the news.

Europe is literally in crises now and have quite huge numbers of undocumented immigrants, especially Eastern Europe.

Asylum seekers are highly rejected in Europe including sverige. I was in Canada few months ago. While I was spending my vacation there I saw quite huge number of Nigerians who came in and seek for asylum with a good approval rate. I doubt that will be the case in Sweden, as right now riksdagen (Swedish parliament) are actually trying to make life more difficult for immigrants.

So please before you spend money coming here try and do your homework and understand it’s not gonna be easy. The battles you will be facing might not be easy compared to the a native English speaking countries.

No one is discouraging people but rather telling you guys what and what not to expect.

Oh I will be spending New Year’s Eve in Stockholm in case anyone wanna link for a pint

Tack
Ha en fin ikvall

I remember when i was in Abuja going from one embassy to another ,

I met this guy at Italy embassy, he was so vocal and everyone surrounded him and was listening to him, so it was time and embassy opened , everyone was going to get their purposes of been there but this guy just stood and was looking, I asked him why he didnt follow every other person, That was when he started saying another thing o, this ITALY sef, i hate am but my mom wont let me go another country, bla bla bla, he spoilt Italy so much that i was having a rethink.

Most of this guys don't have anywhere they are going, some are serving ban and others have spoilt their chances.

My cousin lived in Poland for 10 yrs, He was so successful i was wondering if its same europe, he only visits US and Canada and loves POLAND so much, ....

i am always asking if its not the same poland, and he does legit importation business, travels around the EU to get good of all kind and bring into Nigeria.
