I agree. A PhD is a job and no one should start it in Canada without FULL FUNDING! It is abnormal to pay for a PhD in North America.

Sorry about the refusal but can I say that you shouldn't be in a hurry to submit another application. [b]PhD is funds consuming [/b]and I wouldn't suggest you use all your personal funds for this purpose, at least get a partial funding. Getting a co sponsor as well in this case may not settle the VO's concerns on a financial stability because you still have your family here to cater for, how do you resolve that? In my opinion, try and get a funding however small as it will go a long way with your application.

Please as regards my issue am still looking for phd funding but as a plan B i will like to ask that if my sponsor pays my tuition fee of 10kcad ahead before the winter and i attach the receipt of payment with new application and also raise my account balance from 4million to 8million curtesy of parents good deed gifts of additional 4m to support studies parents pay slips for 6months promotion letters and assets as well as sponsors bank statement pay slips and employment letter. A good LOE showing the changes as well as using my wife and son as home ties will the application stand a chance then?

I ordered for my GCMS notes, it came about 2 weeks ago and my visa has been approved, since April actually. I wonder what’s keeping the passport request.

I just got my gcms notes (applied on the 25th of August. To be honest I expected this result while still hoping for the best. I have already deferred my admission to winter 2021 and I intend to repackage my application and reapply.

My question is there is a part where the wrote *do not finalize until biometrics is completed or a new letter is sent when VACs reopen* What letter are they referring to? Does this mean I still have hope of saving this application or should I just wait till they finalize and reapply again?

I have come again for your worthy advise as usual.

I am going for a 2yrs baccalaureate Diploma, commencing in Winter term, and I'm planning to submit my application for Study Permit anytime next month. But my worries are:

1. Whether 8m is adequate for proof fund

2. The said amount came into my accounts on 26th Aug (3m) and 2 Sept (5m), in two savings accounts I maintain in different banks. By the time I will submit my SP application, the funds would be barely a month and 2weeks in my account.

Please will it have negative implication on my application?

Note: My school didn't demand for any tuition deposit but I intend paying my first semester fees of about 2.2m (CAD7,660) and attach same to my Student Permit Application.

I will appreciate advise/suggestions on the above.

Please I need some clarifications regarding my study permit even though I've already submitted my second application since July 3rd.

I was denied in April for only one reason "based on personal assets and financial status"
Then I used a sponsor that had 10m naira in his account, but now changed to a sponsor that has 37m, affidavit of support, sponsorship letter, statement of purpose, letter of explanation, added with my own account statement (with ballance of 119k) with my registered business name and my inherited landed property documents.

Please I want to know
Will the change of sponsor have any effect on my new application

After paying my first semester tuition fee of $6k, I have only about 5m left. I wanted to use my dad to cover up as the co-sponsor, but the man gave me account with 6 months total credit of 13m and closing balance of 6M. Will this be enough?.....

He has 3 registered companies.

But the major 1 which I knew and grew up with, he isn't the one that registered it and he had been using it since 1990s. It was a surprise to me when I couldn't find his name on the company particulars. I didn't collect the particulars,


I have the CAC and tax clearance certificate.

Won't this be like a lie if I used this?. Also I can't say he's employed into the company cos he doesn't have a boss, even the current company office, he built it.


Or I should just collect the second CAC certificate without tax clearance as proof of source of fund.?. Thanks.

It has not been refused officially. It just took too long without update so I ordered the notes.

I got my GCMS note today and my study permit was refused based on the fact that they cannot see a logical reason spending so much in my education when my career / educational background are not correlated with the course of study.
Please gurus, I need to know if I can add LOE and some other supporting documents via webform or wait till they refuse it officially.

I think the bolded is wrong and VO was actually saying that I submitted bank account details of my mom for proof is financials.

Am not married yet but have 2 siblings and retired parents who depends on me( hoping to attach all their birth certificates, Marriage certificate and retirement letters)

I work with the State government, just got promoted this July .am part of a local charity organization, do part time business consulting for companies, engage in weekends lectures at multiple tuition house, treasurer of my local mosque ( hoping to get reference letter for all of them )

I also leased out a property for 2 years starting February this year and ending year 2021. I have the survey , receipts and lease agreements signed by my lawyer and the transfer of the fund to my accounts form the law firm.


Can all this be helpful for home tie and financial situations?

The note says: He said 27yrs old male single no support significant previous travel to access as a positive factor, no support for any employment , mothers account noted. To study college certificate.
The applicant’s rational for studies given past and current education and employment has failed to satisfy me that the expense doesn’t justify the potential for improved career possibilities in applicant country of citizenship or current residence to present an incentive to leave Canada. Overall weak family and economic ties to of citizenship and current residence to provide incentive to leave at the end of any authorized stay.

I think we have had this discussion before.

No one can say for sure if applicants from Nigeria have greater chances of getting study permits with universities than colleges and vice versa. I don't think there is any data to support your assertions.

However, you are entitled to your opinion on the issue at hand and I respect it. I hope you have a good week.

I am going for Chemical Engineering (MSc). Would me putting something like "the oil industry of Nigeria is not fully developed at the moment and I would love to use the knowledge acquired to solve the problems" be enough as home ties??

1. In the titution/room and board section. Should I include the money for one year or two years? Considering that I have the full money to cover my 2 year program.

2. I being sponsored fully by my parents but I start working about 5 months ago. Should I include the statement of account from my salary account? I have less than 100k there.

3. Is it necessary to get a reference letter from my current place of employment (because I was refused one after I requested).
