No much benefits, from the gate when it’s your appointment time, you will be allowed in while others are still struggling to get in, and the lounge area is different from where the normal applicant are attended to, drinks are offered but you might need to request for it, the process was kinda slow on that day though, not really impressed but your own experience maybe different.

Thank you so much for the response...

You will not be allowed to drive in the UK with your Nigerian Driver's License at all. Hence the need for the International Driver's License. The International Driver's License allows you to drive in the UK for one year but at a higher Insurance rate(e.g if normal rate is 40 pounds, you will pay around 100 pounds).
You will need 2 passport photograph, your personal details, name of country where its to be used and 17k Naira. It may not cost that much in Lagos as I was given this information at the Licensing office of where I am domiciled and was informed that it will be sent to Lagos. And will be ready for collection in 1 week.

This is not true.
If you have a Nigeria driver's license, you can use it to drive for a year before getting one in UK.

The transit visa is for only 1stop in the schengen area. While the shortstay visa is for more than 1 stop. Please confirm that your flight is just one stop before you go ahead.

Applied on the France website. Made payment for appointment - about 20k per person

Went for biometrics and paid for the visa - about 40k per person

Visa / Passport was returned in 3 days.

Documents needed.
France Visa application.
VFS appointment confirmation.
Passport.
Passport photographs with white background
Bank statement for 1month.
Make copies before you go or inside the venue....those outside are pricey.

Thanks for this update.
I'm KLM or AirFrance.

Hope the transit visa process is not a difficult one?

Hello Fam!
After an interview with a school, how long does it take to get a response or an offer, please?

I also applied to others that are yet to respond, and they haven't even replied my mail.

I'm really worried right now...

Go to their office in ikeja to book a date with proof that shows the need for you to to travel urgently.
They will give you a favorable date. However if you know how to beg, make the payment and go with the necessary documents (very early like 7am) you might be lucky to do the test same day. Cheers!

Thanks for the response...
They've opened up some dates and I booked yesterday for October 27.

Thank you...

Pls who has gotten an offer for social work, Jan 2022? The delay no be here. It seems so much faster getting offers for other courses

Very tight something ooo.
They're stingy with their Social Work from my observation and experience so far.

One of the University I applied to interviewed me today tho. A video interview ooo.

I'm hopeful they'll give me an offer cos the wait is tiring.

Good day everyone...

I submitted an application to Leeds Beckett University this morning but I didn't get any confirmation mail nor an application ID to help track my application.

Please, is that normal with LBU?

For which intake please? If it is for January, they will still send it to you.
Is there any acknowledgment email? If yes you can still write them.

Thanks a lot for your response.
Yes, it's for January intake. No acknowledgement mail yet but the status on the portable has indicated received.

I'll write them and keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks again...

I am currently working with my cousin for January intake for social work. It good to have options as some schools take only 30 students per session and 70% quota given to UK & EU applicants.

Chester, Hull, Stirling and Liverpool Hope have January start dates too

Thanks for this response...
I'll check other schools and other possible courses even though I never planned doing another course cos I have more plans with Social Work...

Hello Everyone!

I want to thank YOU for contributing and assisting with your knowledge and experience on this platform. I've been reading through some of the post and responses after getting here two days ago.

I applied to Nottingham Trent University for Masters in Social Work last week in June for January 2022 intake. Have written to them twice to enquire about the status of application and they said its been received and under review. They're yet to give me an update on my application status still.
Someone advised me to apply for another course to have more options but I don't want another one neither do I even know which to apply for.

Any hope with NTU?
I need suggestions that can help me, please...

(On the other hand I also applied to Teesside University for same Masters in Social Work for January 2022 intake, wrote to them after about three weeks for updates. They finally sent me their decision last week that my application wasn't successful because the class is filled up) grin

NTU just sent me a mail now...
They said they don't consider applications for social work from students that need a tier 4 visa.

Dear All,

Thank you all for the good job. I just got a PhD offer with scholarship in UNSW and would appreciate if someone can guide on how to package my visa application better.

I just got my US visa for PhD also but I prefer Auss. Also I have got some travel history, all for study purpose. Equally, I have a PhD offer with Scholarship in Canada but would reject it if the visa for Auss is sure.

I would appreciate your kind guidance.

You can defer before acceptance, before payment and also after. It all depends on when the decision to defer is taken.

Deferment in UTAS is done once from the information on their site. You can also ask them directly to know if there's a consideration or exceptions based on the border condition.

I do not know when the border will open tho. I'm also waiting and looking forward to that.

Thank you...
seunfoster:
Good evening everyone,

I have a situation at hand, I got an offer from UTAS and I am contemplating whether to accept it or not due to this border restriction. However, I have a few concerns that I need clarity on from everyone.

1. How is the deferment of admission done? Is it after acceptance of offer and payment of the course deposits or before?
2. Is there a chance of the borders being opened before July 2021 because the admission is for the July session.
3. How many times can one defer admission in UTAS?

Kindly help with answers. I do not also mind further information/guidance from the experienced ones on this journey. I am stuck in between, please come to my rescue.

Thank you.

The first course is Tourism, Environmental and Cultural Heritage. I actually planned changing to Social Work from this if I eventually travel with this cos I was initially scared of applying for visa with my Social Work offer that came with a bridging course.

My school told me that I must be on campus for Social Work as it's not offered online and that's good for me cos I really don't want to do online study.

Since things are pointing to next year, I'll just wait and stick to my Social Work.
I was informed that the bridging course won't affect my chances as I was earlier worried/scared, so I'll just respect myself and endure with beliefs that it's for the best...
AussieJoan:

What's the first course you were offered.
Secondly, why can't you do the bridging course online ? Personally, I would have done that online and just start the main thing when I get here.
But this year is looking kinda bleak for international student arrival.
Let's just hope the Federal government will listen to the state on their proposals
Travel / Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by VickayThrills: 8:01pm On Apr 09, 2021
This whole thing is very serious and annoying.

I have two offers from my chosen University (UTAS) right now.

The first one, I've received the unconditional offer, I even defered it from February to July 2021 and I doubt if I can defer again cos their policy is just one deferment for an offer.

I planned paying for my fees this month but I won't pay again for now to avoid being tied to starting online.

The second one (Social Work) came with a bridging course to do for six months before Masters proper. This one starts July and my school said it cannot be done online and that's good for me cos I'm not in for an online study.
However, if I don't start this July, the deferment will be till next year July because the bridging should run from July till December so as to start the Masters which has only February intake.

Right now, the next year thing that I never bargained for is turning to a reality like play like play.

I remember telling a friend who outrightly deferred till next year because of the border drama that it's going to be a long wait for her but just see my life now, I'm gradually sliding into her long waiting shoes...

I'm really confused ooo...
