Webmasters / How To Promote Blog Posts & Drive Website Traffic With Zero Ads - Victor Winners by Vickwinners: 12:02pm On Nov 08, 2023
Are You Struggling to Get Your Blog Noticed? You're Not Alone.

Creating captivating blog posts takes effort, creativity, and dedication. But the real challenge comes after hitting that "publish" button. How do you get readers to get to your blog and engage with your content? If you're grappling with this question, you're in good company.

The Content Creators' Dilemma

Content creators, whether bloggers, YouTubers, or writers, face a common hurdle. We pour our hearts and souls into crafting meaningful blog posts, videos, and articles, only to find it's like whispering in a crowded room. Getting noticed in the digital universe is no easy feat.

I've had countless fellow creators ask me, "How can I effectively promote my posts and drive traffic to my blog?" It's a crucial question, one that deserves a comprehensive answer.

The Importance of Promoting Your Posts

The short answer is yes, you need to promote your blog posts. It's not just important; it's vital. Research shows that content promotion is one of the most effective ways to boost viewership, increase traffic, and achieve your content's goals.

The days of simply posting content and hoping for the best are long gone. Today, millions of creators are vying for the same precious readership. So, who will read all these blog posts?

To emphasize this point, industry experts, including Sujan Patel, suggests that 80 percent of your content marketing efforts should be focused on promotion, while only 20 percent should go into content creation.

Strategies to Promote Your Blog Posts

The good news is that numerous strategies can help you gain the attention and readership your blog deserves. These tactics have been tried and tested by many bloggers who have achieved remarkable returns on their efforts:

1. Leverage Social Media:

Social media platforms are a goldmine for promoting your blog posts, especially for newcomers. With platforms like Facebook, boasting over 2 billion users, you can build your brand and attract readers back to your blog. I began my content promotion journey on Facebook, and it's a strategy that still holds water today.

2. Engage in Email Marketing:

With a substantial email list, you can send your blog posts directly to your subscribers as part of newsletters or new post notifications. This is a highly effective method of driving traffic, provided you offer real value and avoid spamming your readers.

3. Join Online Communities:

Online communities, such as Quora, Reddit, and Growth Hackers, provide excellent platforms for content promotion. Engaging with other users, creating valuable content, and strategically sharing your posts can lead to a significant increase in your blog's readership.

4. Use Guest Posting:

Guest posting allows you to share your content on other blogs, reaching new audiences and promoting your brand. You can either re-post old blog posts as guest content or write new articles, including a link to your own posts.

5. Collaborate with Other Bloggers:

Collaborations with fellow bloggers can be a powerful tool, especially for those starting out. By working together, you can promote each other's posts, share audiences, and build backlinks that boost your SEO.

6. Promote Your Blog Posts on Your Blog:

Don't forget to promote your posts within your blog. Consider updating older posts, adding more depth, and re-publishing them as fresh content. Additionally, create resource pages that link to multiple posts related to a particular topic.
In Conclusion

Creating outstanding content is just the beginning; promoting it to the right audience is the real challenge. As a new blogger, you need to understand that the odds aren't always in your favor. The magic lies in combining three essential steps: create great content, find the right audience, and promote your content. Regardless of the strategy you choose, these steps are your key to success in promoting your blog posts.

So, which of these strategies resonates with you as a way to promote your blog posts and drive traffic? The choice is yours, and the possibilities are boundless.

Webmasters / 5 Ways To Harness The Power Of Empathy To Drive Conversions As Content Creator by Vickwinners: 8:55pm On Oct 05, 2023
Did you know that you can use the power of empathy to create more meaningful content that drives conversions for your business?

Today, we're diving deep into the art of empathy in content marketing.

Buckle up because we're about to unlock some game-changing insights and how you can use these insights to drive conversions for your content marketing effort.

Step 1: Get to Know Your Audience

You can't truly care about someone you don't know, right? So, to create empathetic content, start by identifying your audience.

Who are they? What makes their hearts beat a little faster? And how do they prefer to devour their content?

Is it through videos, images, or good ol' text?

Knowing these details is like having a treasure map to their emotions.

Step 2: Understand Their Needs

Empathy thrives on knowledge. It's not merely about scratching the surface; you have to dive deep to get a better understanding of your audience.

Understand your audience's wants and needs so well that you can craft tailor-made solutions through your content.

Done so well, you can become like their content genie, granting their wishes and meeting their needs with every paragraph you create.

Step 3: Craft Audience-Centered Content

Your audience already has an idea of what they're looking for. Your job as a savvy content creator is to meet those expectations.

Use insights from analytics, keywords research, and search trends to shape your content around their desires.

Trust me; this alignment works like magic.

Step 4: Share Authentic Stories

Authenticity is your secret superpower. Use it to build trust and connect with your audience.

How? Use storytelling. Start by sharing your own personal stories even the not-so-cute ones, when they fit your content's purpose.

Allow yourself to be vulnerable. Being genuine and vulnerable makes your brand relatable, like a friend they can trust.

Step 5: Serve Up Value

Empathetic content is like a good meal – it's valuable. Satisfying.

Give your audience content that solves their problems and meets them at the point of their needs.

Be their go-to problem solver, and they'll keep coming back for more. Value is the currency of lasting connections.

Bonus Step: Step up Engagement

Don't stop at creating and sharing content; engage with your audience.

Respond to their comments, answer questions, and make connections beyond your blog – on social media, for instance. Remember, it's all about building meaningful relationships.

In the end, whether it's your family, colleagues, clients, or your loyal tribe, understanding the power of empathetic marketing is the key to providing them with an unforgettable content experience.

Conclusion

Empathetic marketing places your audience at the heart of your content strategy. It's the secret sauce that turns ordinary content into conversions driving tools.

So, follow these steps, tap into the power of empathy, and watch your content marketing effort deliver far better results!

Webmasters / 5 Steps To Get The Right Visibility For Your Blog - Victorwinners.com by Vickwinners: 8:14pm On Jun 05, 2023
One of the reasons your blog is not getting the kind of visibility that generates the right income is because you’re getting the wrong traffic to the blog.

Most of your traffic is coming from all the wrong places.

From a country that is not a part of your target audience to a particular demographic that does not have the money to buy your products or service, there are so many reasons why your blog isn’t making money.

So for this reason you don’t just need traffic for your blog, you need high quality traffic before the traffic can generate income for your blog.

Now, let’s get this cleared out first…

It is one thing to have a Blog, another thing to have traffic and yet another thing to have a traffic that is converting into clients.

With some decent traffic and the right strategies, you can always make money with your blog. But, to get the kind of traffic that can help you make money with your new blog, you have to focus on getting high quality and targeted traffic that can actually become paying customers.

Now let’s digress a bit…

One of the main some most blogs do not generate income is because most bloggers focus on getting traffic to their blogs without considering the kind of traffic that can actually earn them revenue.

To avoid this mistake as a blogger, besides focusing on getting traffic to your blog, target kind of traffic that can actually deliver the outcomes you expect.

The following are easy steps that can generate targeted traffic to your new blog…

Identify & Target the right Audience
You can’t make money with your blog if you don’t figure out the exact audience that can buy your product or services and get to target them properly

This is why it is very important for you to do your research before starting a blog. By research I mean getting to know why you want to blog in the first place, understanding your audience and their unique problems, figuring out how to solve the problem with your content. And then getting out a strategy that will help you achieve your blogging goals.

Doing your research helps you understand the process and steps you can take to achieve your goal. In the process of doing your research, you’ll get to know the topics that will work for you and the blogging themes that will help you rank for your targeted keywords.

Decide your Content Type & Posting intervals
Now when you’re done with setting up your blogging strategy etc, the next thing for you to do is to decide on the kind of content you want to create and the content length.

So deciding on the kind of posts that will be needed on your blog, the posting intervals, and the length of the posts will give you a clear idea on how you’re going to get the traffic over to your blog.

To get a better result, work on posting a mix of long and short content forms. So if you’re posting long form content of about 2000 words and above, that could help you target long tail keywords which will help you rank better on Google Search.

On the other hand a shorter content of around 700- 1000 words, will keep you getting fresh content at shorter intervals and these will also help your blog rank even better in some certain niches.

Overall, a combination of these two content styles will help you garner a decent number of consistent traffic.

Optimize for SEO
One of the reason most bloggers are not generating a decent traffic with their blogs is because their content is not properly optimized and they don’t have any real Content Strategy.

Before we proceed, let me quickly add this. To be able to get realistic results, your Content Strategy has to be in sync with your blogging goals at any specific time. This will help you measure your success easily.

Coming back, after deciding on your post length and blog posting intervals, the next thing for you to do is to focus on preparing your blog post for both your audience and the search engine.

For your blog post, you could settle for text content, audio or video content. Decide on the format that suits your audience. Be sure that you get your post optimized for the search engines with all necessary keywords before publishing it.

Choose the Right Social Media Platform
After optimizing your post, choose the particular social platforms that has your targeted audience so you can get quality traffic to your blog.

Besides getting organic traffic from Google the social media and a few other platforms can help you get optimized traffic back to your blog. But you can’t focus on all the social media platforms if you want to get a really targeted audience to your blog so you’ll have to choose where to focus your social media marketing in order to generate adequate results

If you are looking for an audience that can pay for a particular service, identify specific sub groups on the social media or a particular social media platform with that kind of audience you want.

Where you are also looking for a specific niched traffic you can decide to partner with other successful blogs in that particular niche and get the traffic back to your site or even engage in guest blogging. Done well, such partnerships can help you make a headway with your blog.

PS: The platform you share your content is very crucial to your success especially when it comes to targeting the right audience. Don't share your content indiscriminately on platforms that do not have the kind of audience you want…

Understand your Priorities
Finally, you’ll also have to understand the three basic goals of every blogger… To get traffic, to get popular or make money fast.

Understand which of this is of priority to you. If your priority is to make money fast blogging then you’ll have to get the kind of audience that can convert real fast. If you want to get popular or just get good traffic then know that the strategies will be slightly different.

For the latter, you can focus on getting just any kind of traffic thus you can you can partner with or share your posts on any kind of platforms.

Webmasters / Re: How To Make Money As A Social Media Influencer In Nigeria - Victorwinners.com by Vickwinners: 8:02pm On Dec 13, 2021
Hello @lalasticlala grin wink
Webmasters / How To Make Money As A Social Media Influencer In Nigeria - Victorwinners.com by Vickwinners: 8:47pm On Nov 26, 2021
Have you ever thought about strategies you could use to make a decent side income as an influencer in Nigeria?

If you just answered yes to the question above then you're not alone. Because, before they got to where they are today, a lot of influencers have had to think about how to monetize their influence at some point.

But really, sometimes making money as an influencer is not exactly a straightforward thing. Especially in Nigeria, as compared to most other developing countries. But, regardless of the challenges, there are still legit ways to earn money as an influencer and I'm going to list some of this strategies for you below...

But, before I show you the steps you can use to make money as an Influencer, I’ll like to take you through the four things you have to put in place before you can monetize your influence online…

Four Things to Put in Place Before you can Make Money as an Influencer.

Setup a Platform This is a no brainer. Before you can make money online as an Influencer, you need a platform. It can be a blog, your website, a social media page on Instagram, YouTube, Tiktok, or Facebook etc.

Whatever it is, your Platform is where you’ll host your followers, share your content and create engagement. Without these two things you can’t even start the conversation about making money as an Influencer.

Create Content After setting up your platform, you'll need followers. This is in fact your real estate. And one of the best ways to get followers and keep them entertained on your page is to create content.

Without content, you won’t have followers or engagement. And without followers, you’re not an Influencer. So, before you can influence anyone, you’ll need to be able to create the kind of content that will attract them to your platform. And keep them coming back repeatedly.

Get Engagement One of the most important factors that identifies an Influencer is engagement. Engagement can be anything like comments, likes, shares etc. They are part of the indicators that shows anyone interested in partnering with you that you are worth the investment.

Where your audience do not like, comment and engage in your post then it may be an indication that they are not interested in your content. And by extension, they may not be interested in any other paid partnership content shared on your page.

For this reason, you have to keep posting interesting and valuable content that is relevant to your audience so you can keep up the engagement levels.

Have followers Now, the fourth thing you need to put in place before you can make money as an Influencer is followers. Like I already mentioned above, you need a sizeable number of followers as an Influencer before you can monetize your platform.

This is very important. Without followers you can hardly partner with any promoter. That’s why everything you’re doing on your platform will have to be done with the end goal of achieving increased followers and engagement. This is what drives your ascension as an Influencer and your ability to monetize your platform profitably well.

Now that you’ve known about the four things you need to put in place before becoming an Influencer…

The following are the important strategies you can use to monetize your platform and make money as an Influencer.

Engage in Product Partnership
The number one way to make money as an Influencer is to partner with brands.

And this is applicable to influencers everywhere. Whether you’re an Influencer in Nigeria, USA, India, anywhere, you can make money as an Influencer through brand partnership.

This can involve acting as a brand ambassador for a specific brand, in return for a certain fees. Promoting a brands content or creating content about them. Usually, this is one of the popular ways to make money as a public figure.

A lot of your favorite celebrities are already doing this. With a large following and a good number of engagement, you can use this as a good first option to monetize your platform and make money online.

The cons here is that brand partnership can span over a long period of time. And some clients might have very specific needs which might get to limit you as an Influencer. But frankly, like I usually tell my students, it’s your platform, you can always set the rules.

Create your Digital Product

As an Influencer with a good number of followers, instead of partnering with others, you can as well create your own products and sell them right there on your platform.

This will save you the stress of having to work with some certain kind of brands whose products may not be in line with your brand values.

For this to work though, you’ll need to have a specialized skill on the particular topic or get an expert to create one for you.

Create Sponsored Posts

Sponsored posts are posts written by you and posted on your platform, un behalf of another brand. It can also be written by another brand and sent to you to post on your platform at a fee.

The idea behind sponsored post is that since you already have the audience, you can use a one off post to promote a particular brand at a specific time or over a certain period of time.

In return, the brand will pay you a certain amount as fees, while also furnishing you with other important items as may be demanded by you. If you ask me, this is more straight forward, compared to paid partnership.

Sell Affiliate Products

Affiliate products are products created by other brands which you can sell on your platform, in exchange for a commission. They can be physical or digital products.

You can use affiliate marketing as a strategy to make money on your platform. Most often than not, this strategy is popular with influencers on platforms like blogs, websites, YouTube etc.

There are a handful of affiliate websites both within and outside Nigeria where you can shop for products that aligns with your brand, promote them on your platforms and get your earnings.

Setup your eCommerce Store

Besides selling digital products, you can also create your own ecommerce store and sell your physical products. A lot of influencers are already doing this. Especially on social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube etc.

You can also use this as a strategy to make money as an Influencer. Some of the popular products sold on these ecommerce platforms include skin care products, clothes, shoes, make up kits, underwear materials etc.

You can analyze your audience to find a product that works with them. Or even partner with others to develop and sell a physical product directly on your platform.

Final words.

It’s very possible to make money as an Influencer in Nigeria. But before you think of getting started, you need a sizeable audience and a platform among other things.

When this is put in place, you can then work on using these strategies to monetize and earn from your platform.

Remember, there are still some other strategies which may not be practicable in Nigeria. There are others too that can still work but you don’t have to use all of these strategies at same time. You can use a few of them or a combination of these strategies to see what works for you. And then stick with it when you do.

So, this brings us to the end of this post. And right now, it’s your turn. What’s the best step you took to monetize your platform and how did it turn out? Let's read your comments.

Removing the subsidy is not the problem as considering the timing, the consequences and the benefit it'll accrue to Nigerians. Before we compare subsidy removal for Petrol with Diesel and Kerosene, we need to evaluate the usage of these other product. Until then we can't compare the compound effect of the removal.

Also, there's need for a conversation and accountability for previous subsidy removal. What was the money realized from subsidy removal on Diesel and Kerosene used for?

Webmasters / How To Rank A Website Faster On Google - Victorwinners.com by Vickwinners: 6:11pm On Oct 26, 2021
You have a new website and you want to learn how to rank your website fast?

This is the aspiration of all website owners. But most times, getting your website to rank on the search engine is not always easy. Because a lot of factors come into play when it comes to getting visibility for your new website. But, its not doable

Personally, I usually advice clients if you want to get your website to rank even faster then one of your best first steps is to start with a recently expired domain name instead of buying a totally new domain name.

Doing this gives you some ranking advantage because in most cases, the expired domain would have already been indexed by Google and other search engines, with established back links, so you don't have to start completely from the scratch.

As usual, a lot of people do not go the way of buying expired domains. In fact, there are many cases where clients usually need their own branded domain name.

In such situation there’s need to have a good rank by all means, regardless of the newness of the domain name.

If you’re in this situation then this post is for you.

In my years of experience as SEO Expert and Web Designer, I have had encounters with some websites that needed to have a good rank fast.

And within this period, I’ve tested and tried different strategies that helped these blogs and websites, in their bid to get a better rank.

Below, I’m going to share with you some of these strategies that’s worked for our clients and what you need to do to rank your website faster;

Write Better Content

It’s a no brainer. Content is at the heart of everything we do online.

When it comes to getting your website to rank fast, one of your best bet is still content.

Naturally, one of the most obvious rules about getting visibility for new websites is that if you want to get your new website to rank fast, you have to write better content than your competition.

But then, it is beyond better content. Beyond creating great content, you have to provide far more value than they are doing. Make your posts very detailed, informative and far better than what the industry is creating.

Of course this can be a bit difficult. It’s harder to create a really outstanding content if you’re competing against other websites with far more established set of writers etc.

If you find yourself in this situation then you have to brace up to invest more time in your content writing.

You might have to be posting less than often but when ever you post, you have to churn out something really worthwhile.

For me and my team, In a situation where our competition has better content that might seem difficult to best them, we bring in our own perspective.

And by leveraging our perspectives, we add new lessons, new experiences that creates a new level of uniqueness for our posts.

You see, the internet is already filled with a ton of regurgitated stuff. A lot of people are rewriting and passing out what they read from other blogs and this is adding very little value to users in most cases.

You can choose to do something about this by creating content that is more original and value loaded.

When you create content, find out, what personal experience do you have that you can use to enrich the content or add a new dimension to it?

Doing this will not only help you to create a better content, it will give your content a very unique voice and a different set of value for your audience.

Post & Promote your Content Consistently
To make a real mark or rank your new website fast, you need a level of consistency in your content update.

Agreed, quality trumps quantity in the content marketing world, but; if you really want your new website to stand out, you still need a reasonable amount of content.

And there must be a certain level of consistency throughout your postings. You don’t want to create posts on week 1, then post nothing on week 2, only to come back on week 3.

Such inconsistency will not help you especially as you’re working out on building a new audience.

Choose a certain number of days to make a post and stick to it. Doing this helps you in building a level of trustworthiness with your audience.

With that, they can always know when to expect a new post form you. And with such knowledge you will build an ever-ready audience that’s ready to consume your content, whenever you create them.

Again, you need to invest in promoting your posts too.

You can do this on the social media, via different forums, groups etc. It gets more people to see the content you create.

It also helps in easier indexing of your posts by the search engines.

Use Less Popular Keywords
Keywords are very important factors when it comes to creating search engine visibility.

If you indeed want your new website to rank fast then your keyword is going to play a very important role there so you have to chose wisely.

Instead of targeting a popular keyword that’s already targeted by most well established websites in your niche, focus on targeting alternatives of those keyword that’s not too popular. This is one strategy that’s helped a lot of our clients.

So, if the original keyword you have in mind is web designer for instance. And this keyword happens to be very popular with stiff competition, you can target an alternative like small business web designer.

Although the second keyword might not bring in as much traffic as the former, it will give you some decent traffic.

While you may be able to rank at number 40 with the former keyword, the latter keyword can give you a spot on the front page because it is not all that competitive.

Leverage Social Media

As a beginner, the social media can do a whole lot for you especially when your blog is yet to get a lot of traction.

If you’re providing some services on your website either as a freelancer or an agency, you can leverage the social media to build social proof and gather some fans for your blog.

These new fans can become your first paid clients while you build your blog and wait for even more paid clients.

Also, the social media can serve as your first point of call for traffic back to your website.

Instead of leaving your posts on your blog, after you create them, you can also share these posts to your social media handles.

Create some posts around it and get your friends over to read it on your site and share with their friends.

The more readers and shares you have from the social media handles, the more you get a better visibility for your website.

Guest Post on other Websites
Guest posting is very important if you want your website to rank faster.

The thing guest blogging does for you is that it gives your brand a better visibility, gives you a new audience and creates back links for your website.

Each of these are very important key elements that are usually considered as far as search engine ranking is concerned.

To do very well with guest posts, you don’t have to post on about any website you see out there.

You need to target websites that have the kind of audience you need. Or websites that having a back link from their site will create a boost for your link profile.

In some cases, majority of the high profile websites may not want to give you an opportunity to write for them as a beginner unless you’re really good with what you’re doing.

But if you happen to experience such, instead of targeting the big websites you can always start with the average websites that are relevant to your niche.

Also, you can target only websites that accepts guest posts.

To do this, you can run a quick search in Google with search terms like; “write for us”. Or streamline it to your particular niche like; ” write for us + tech or + Travel or whatever niche you want to target”.

Alternatively, you can also use search terms like websites that accept guest posts. in your Google search and then filter through the search results until you get the ones you want.

In any case, endeavor to understand what the website covers before sending in your pitch. I covered a post on guest posting here. You can read to have a better understanding of how it works.

Get Back links
Back links are one of the most important factors that will help your website rank fast.

In fact, it is more important than some of the factors mentioned above.

A single back link from a high authoritative website can do a whole lot in improving your website ranking on the search engine. That’s why you need to get back links.

As a new website, you already have a little disadvantage because most web masters prefer linking to already established websites instead of new ones.

To beat around this you need to do some background work on your part.

Write great content. Naturally, only an exceptional content with a ton load of value will attract back links to beginner websites. But then, you don’t have to wait for it.

After creating your valuable content you don’t need to sit and wait for back links, go out and get them.

Find out websites with broken links on topics similar to yours on other websites. Contact the owners of those websites via mail, inform them about the broken links and the alternative you offer with your own content which is similar to the one they previously linked to. And ask if they could update the link with yours.

Chances are, you may not always get a “yes”. But you might get enough “yes’es'” to land you some high quality back links.

Also, engage in link building via other big web 2.0 websites like , , Medium etc.

Posting quality content and linking on these websites back to your own website can give you a ton load of boosts in your ranking.

Advertise
This is more like a last resort for businesses that are in a hurry to get some traffic and clients back to their websites.

Thing is, in some cases, building organic traffic can take some time for you to see clear results.

Instead of waiting to see results before you get started, you can start with advertising on Google Ad or other major websites.

Doing this keeps your website coming up with activities while you’re doing other things to build your organic traffic.

Like I mentioned earlier, this should only be used as a last resort and in situations where you have the budget that can afford it.

In conclusion, you can actually get to rank a new website faster than it would naturally take but for this to happen, you need to put some strategies in place.

These strategies listed here has helped me and my team to provide a better visibility for websites in a short period of time and we could do same for you.

Alternatively, with time, you can also create a better ranking for your website if you choose to use these strategies yourself.

So, there you have what it takes to rank your website faster. The question is, which of these strategies is more important for you? Let me hear you!

Blogging has provided many possibilities, created opportunities and helped a lot of people to achieve things they would not necessarily have achieved without their blogs.
Regardless of these possibilities, there are still a lot of misconceptions myths and lies about blogging that needs to be debunked. And In this post, I am going to discuss some of these interesting myths below while also sharing with you, the actual position of things in the blogging world…

Alright let’s dig in…

Blogging is easy
One of the biggest misconceptions about blogging is the idea that blogging is easy. I get to hear this quite often.
I don’t know how it was possible for people to come to this conclusion but honestly, this idea about blogging has made a lot of bloggers to start a journey they can’t finish.

As someone that’s had similar misconceptions while starting out, today; whenever anyone asks me, is it really easy to be a blogger, I simply tell them…;

If researching for ideas between two to four hours, creating content for five or more hours and spending hours to promote your blog is something very easy for you then blogging is easy.

Otherwise, like any other profitable engagement, blogging will demand your time, energy, effort and money. And you will work hard to create content that stands out if you want to create outstanding results.
Blogging will make you rich
Let’s clear the air. I am sure you can name a handful of people that have become rich due to their blogging activities. Indeed, there are a whole lot of successful and rich bloggers out there so actually, blogging can make you rich.

But truth be told, you will have to work hard for it. Because; money will not fall into your account, when people click on your website. No!
To become rich and famous like those bloggers you admire, you have to put in the work, your time and money.

Blogging will give you fame
At some point, every aspiring blogger doesn’t aspire to become a blogger just for the money.

A lot of people are aspiring to become bloggers today because of the fame and benefits blogging brings to the table. But, this is a serious misconception about blogging.

Of course, starting your blog because you want to be famous is not a bad idea but fame is not stamped on a blog. You will not bump into overnight popularity because you own a blog.

But with time, effort, and a strategic plan you can build all the fame you want from your blog.
Blogging is Part time Business
Yes blogging can be a part time business or a side hustle. But if you want to gain real and sustainable success with your blog, you have to give it the full attention it deserves.

The reason is because to become a very successful blogger, there are a lot of activities you’ll have to embark on and to a large extent; these activities will demand a lot more of your time and energy.

So, there’s no sleeping around and updating your blog on weekends. If you intend to wallop the competition and get your blog on Google’s top spot, you need to do more than blogging on weekends.

Unless you’re ok with having a part-time result, for part-time effort.

Write, readers will come
One of the popular lies about blogging is the misconception that as a blogger, if you manage to create a blog post on your blog, readers will definitely show up to read it.

Lies!

Blogging is not Facebook or Nairaland or even Medium, where you already have a pre-existing audience. In the blogging world, things are different.

Unlike your social media where people gets to see your posts because you have an already existing number of friends and followers, in the blogging world, no one sees your posts unless they subscribe to it or come to your blog.

Considering that you’re a beginner, you probably do not have an existing audience. So, no one will read your post unless you share it with them or optimize it for search engine visibility.

Choose a Niche you’re Passionate About
Its cliché, you need to do what you’re passionate about. Don’t you?

Of course that’s right. You’re supposed to be passionate about what you’re blogging about, if you want to be able to stay at it long enough to become successful.

But, that’s not the complete truth! Sometimes, your passion might not be interesting to as much people as you want to attract with your blog. And this might get to affect your enthusiasm and overall as a blogger.

In order to avoid this don’t just jump in. After a careful research, you want to choose a blogging niche that you’re not just passionate about but one that also has a decent number of people that are interested in it.

Anybody can blog
One other big lie about blogging is the idea that if you’re able to create a post on Facebook or Instagram then you’re automatically a blogger.
This is one of the funny misconceptions out there because Blogging is far more professional, tasking and time demanding than creating an ordinary social media post.

In fact, everyone cannot become a blogger but anyone can become a blogger if they learn the skills.
From search engine optimization to content marketing, guest posting etc., as an aspiring blogger, there are a whole lot of things to learn and experiences to garner before you can build that blog that stands out.

Blogging is Dead
A lot of people believe that the rise of social media and other micro blogging platform has finally put an end to blogging.

But statistics don’t agree on this. Instead of being dead, blogging has continued to evolve, giving rise to new concepts like Content Marketing, Vlogging, Podcasting etc.

Over the years, Blogging has continued to take up different forms and shapes, as people increasingly get to consume content in different forms.

This is growth. And it can only get better and diversified with time. But, a lot of people are yet to see.
Conclusion

As I wrap up these misconceptions about blogging, I want you to understand that notwithstanding these realities, becoming a successful blogger can open many doors and opportunities for you just as it is doing for other successful bloggers today.

And although it will take work, effort and time, you can still start a blog and become a successful blogger, if you put your mind to it.
Yes. Regardless of whatever it takes, a lot of people have achieved this for themselves. Many are still achieving it. And you can achieve the same feat.

So, it’s over to you now. Do you want to get on the ladder to become the next successful blogger? You can learn the ropes today.

Terrorists sympathisers have one thing in common; factory fitted ignorance.

This is the old train tracks that runs on a separate track not the new one that was recently procured by the PMB administration. But without lies what will this useless post be? Nothing.

Cownu remains a problem to Igbos, PMB intervention has prevented the evil and nefarious plot of cownu from coming to fruition which is to deliberately provoke retaliation against Igbo living. His incitement targeted northerners and claimed the lives of 10 traders in Imo alone would only have begot violence against his brethren who have successfully established themselves in other parts of the country. The same maniac threatened pastors from SW with attacks but we know Buhari is the only name your handlers mentioned throughout your programming.

How has this your comment helped anything?

Taking time to read your quote, I thought you wanted to explain the scenario like why the train veered off the railway or that there's a government agency responding to the issue at hand.

Literature / 7 Tips To Deal With Writer's Block And Fix Your Writing - Victorwinners.com by Vickwinners: 6:49pm On Jul 01, 2021
As a creator, do you find yourself struggling with writers block or getting stuck while trying to write content for your audience?
Writers block is one of the nightmares of many content writers, bloggers and creatives alike. Indeed writer’s block sucks.

But you know what’s worse? It’s the number of writers wallowing in creative block for too long, waiting for an inspiration that never ever comes some times.

So, if I may ask, do you ever come across creative block? How, do you deal with it?
As someone that’s had to deal with writer’s block for more than half a decade, I’ll be sharing with you some of the strategies that’s worked for me and most of my students below…

Find out the Culprit
You feel you’re stuck with writer’s block? The first step to get yourself out is to figure out the trigger of the sudden lack of inspiration to write.
Find out.
Is it because you do not have any idea or topic in your writing schedule at the moment? This is one of the biggest trigger for most creative people aside from burn out.

The moment you figure out the cause of the writer’s block, it becomes easier to think up ways to fix it.

Revisit your Writing Goal

What did you want to achieve during the period you experienced the writer’s block?
This is a very good question you can ask yourself in order to unravel answers into areas you can write about.

Let’s say your goal within a certain period is to create content on topics that will generate more clients for your business. Knowing this streamlines your topics.
With this in mind, instead of writing about just any topics, you can then decide to target topics that will deliver this specific goal.

Get a Content Calendar

Creating a content calendar is one of the best ways to deal with writer’s block. You know why? It gives you a list of pre-selected topics to write about.
With content calendar you have your content ideas fixed before you need them.

Try out Idea Generator
For most writers, writer’s block starts when they suddenly realize they don’t even have a topic to write about.

If you’re experiencing this kind of blank out, instead of sitting and waiting for content ideas to drop on your laps, get up and use your existing goals to create content ideas.

There are a handful of content idea generators like Hubspot, BuzzSummo, Ubersuggest, answer the public.
Using these apps can fetch you some ideas to break the ice and start your writing.

Freewrite

One of the easiest ways to get out of writer’s block is to try out free-writing. I do this quite often.

As a creative, even with your content calendar, there may be times you don’t just know how to get started on a particular topic. Instead of getting yourself beat up, begin to free-write.

Get yourself over to your laptop. Allow yourself to write as it comes. Keep writing and let it flow.
Do not bother to delete anything. As you continue to write, you’ll realize that it begins to get easier and the ideas begin to come together in a flow.

Read up other blogs

One of the major triggers of writer’s block is the lack of inspiration to write. Sometimes as creators, we just need one idea, one push or just about one familiar pattern to trigger our whole creative faculty.

And this trigger might be right there on that your competitor’s blog. Instead of waiting for when the inspiration will come to you, go out and bring it in.

Use Google to make searches relating to themes you’d want to write about. Read through the results that show up and find out what it says.

The idea is not to copy up the content from other people’s blog. The idea is that at some point during the reading, you might find some inspiration or a whole new angle to start your own content.

Try Content Curation

If you find it difficult to deal with writer’s block, using content Curation is a good strategy to fix yourself and get back into writing.

The good thing about content Curation is that not only does it present you with content, it gets you to present some of the best value to your audience, while promoting the writer of that content and building a relationship with them in the process.
Done well, content Curation can give you a lot of benefits.

Go on a Break

Sometimes your lack of inspiration could be your body telling you that you need to take a break and get powered up again.
If that's the case, get on a break.
Sometimes, your most significant content might just come out of a period like this, where you refuse to force your mind to get creative but allow it to reboot on its own.

Final Words

As you can see, writer’s block is real. And its effects are not limited to writers but creators as a whole.
But regardless, there are ways to harness writer’s block to become a great writer or build better relationship with other writers and content creators.

These are some of the things you’ve learned through this post and I hope you’ll use these strategies to fix your writing and free yourself from writer’s block forever.

Webmasters / How To Start A Wordpress Blog In Nigeria - Victorwinners.com by Vickwinners: 6:14pm On Jun 16, 2021
As an aspiring blogger, starting a blog on WordPress is one of the easiest ways to learn the bolts and nuts of blogging while growing your blog. The reason behind this is not far-fetched. WordPress leads, others follow!

Yes, WordPress is by far, the most widely used blogging platform for bloggers globally. It also has one of the easiest learning curve for beginners.

According to a report by optinmonster, as at 2020, WordPress has over 60 Million bloggers and currently powers 35% of all websites globally; making it the most widely used content management system ever.

Besides this stats, lots of top popular brands are also using WordPress. For instance, websites like; The New York Times, BBC America, MTV News, Times Inc., CNN among many others, including some popular news websites in Nigeria are all using WordPress to power their platforms.

These brands are using WordPress not just because it is easy to use, over the years, with its popularity; WordPress has helped millions of bloggers to create over 70 million posts, every single month.

You see, regardless of whatsoever shortcomings it may have, when it comes to blogging, WordPress is the platform to beat. Considering its simplicity, ease of use for beginners, to its popularity, using WordPress for your blog, you’ll have a lot of options to learn, build and grow your blog.

Now, I’m going to share with you 7 simple steps to start a WordPress blog in Nigeria....

But, before we dive in, to discuss these in details, I’ll like us to discuss briefly about the things you need to put in place before starting your WordPress blog…

What it takes to start a WordPress Blog in Nigeria

With a content management system like WordPress, you don’t need to be a tech guru before you start a blog. Also, you don’t need to be an academic expert on any topic before you can begin to explore that topic or share it on your blog.

So what exactly does it take to start a blog you ask?

The first thing you need to start a blog is a platform, a laptop or smartphone, some basic writing or content creation skills and your effort. Now, let’s talk about this in details

How to start a WordPress blog

The following are the important steps you need to take to start a blog on WordPress;

Set Up your Blogging Goal

Before you decide to start your WordPress blog, you need to have a specific goal you want to achieve with the blog.

This goal could include things like; building a thriving platform, launching a business, making money online, growing a brand, making your voice heard etc.

In a nutshell, your goal is the thing you want to achieve with your blog. No matter what it is, your goal is the center piece of your blog. It is the primary reason why the blog will be in existence so, you need to figure out your goal and then build your blogging strategy around this goal.

PS: You need a clear idea about the reason behind your decision to start your WordPress blog, so you can plan out how you’re really going to build a blog that will achieve the goals you have in mind.

Create a Strategic Plan
When you’re done setting out your blogging goals and objectives, the next thing you want to do is to make a plan based on those goals you’ve set out.

For instance; if your goal is to use your blog to become a thought leader, in this step, you want to create some strategic plan that will help you decide on the right blogging steps you need to take to grow the blog until you become recognized as a thought leader.

Your plan should also give you clear ideas on important decisions that will affect your blog like the kind of content you’ll be creating for instance, your posting schedules, promotion strategies etc.

If your goal is to make money with your blog, for example, your blogging strategy should also include plans on building possible income streams that will favor you, based on your location, blogging niche and audience.

PS: Inasmuch as your blogging plan is supposed to contain strategies, concepts and ideas on how to achieve your blogging goals, your plan does not really have to be rigid.

Like your business plan, your WordPress blogging strategy should be a guideline that will streamline your actions. You should be able to change it from time to time, to reflect the new realities on ground. It should also contain practical steps that will help you to grow your blog.

Buy a Domain Name
After setting up your business plan, your next step is to get to work on building the blog. And the first thing to do at this point is to get a domain name.

Having a domain name is one of the most important things you’ll need before starting a blog. This is because your domain name is going to be your identity on the internet.

So you’ll want to be very careful about choosing a domain name. For this reason, you’ll have to consider what you’re going to be blogging about in the long term. This will help you to settle on the right domain name.

Now, while choosing a domain name, majority of the bloggers use their personal or brand names as the default domain name. But this is not always the best approach to take in some cases.

You have to choose your domain name based on the brand you want to build for your blog. So, if you’re projecting your personal brand, you can choose to use your name, nickname, full name etc. as a domain name.

On the other hand, if your blog is going to be promoting a business, idea or concepts different from your personal brand, you can choose the domain name to reflect the topic you’re blogging about or the business you want to promote.

To illustrate this further; supposing you’re blogging about health related topics, with a focus on young adults, you can think up a domain name like healthforyoungadult.com, youngadulthealth.com etc. or any other name that will clearly distinguish your brand in relation to your target audience.

This platform here can help you with your domain name research… As soon as your research confirms that your preferred domain name is available, pay for it as soon as possible then head over to get a web hosting account.

Be sure your domain name gives people a good grasp of what your blog is about without much stress.

Get a Web Hosting Plan
You’ve probably heard about people using free blogs on platforms like blogger, etc. Yes those platforms exist. People are using them. And they are free. You can settle for them if you’re not planning on building something serious with your blog.

But before you go ahead with the free blogs, you have to understand that using those platforms comes with serious limitations. And you’ll not be able to maximize the use of your blog.

If you’re interested in evolving a successful blog that can also be easily monetized, then you’ll need a paid hosting plan to host your customized domain name.

There are a handful of web hosting companies with affordable monthly and yearly hosting plan. There are also options you can choose from, including monthly, yearly, bi-annually hosting plans etc. Be sure you choose a web hosting plan that will be suitable for your budget. You can always get a better plan as the blog continues to grow.

Set up your Blog

When you’re done choosing your domain name and web hosting plan, you’ll need to set up your blog so you can begin to actually create content on the blog.

Now, this is where WordPress comes in. Since you’re going to build your blog on WordPress, you want to start with installing WordPress on your hosting account through the one click installation on your Control Panel, choose a template, set up your pages and then use the follow up instructions to set up the blog.

This collection of tutorials on how to set up your blog here will help you get started. If you need further help, on setting up your blog on WordPress, you can hire us to build your blog.

Optimize for SEO
After creating and setting up your WordPress blog, you want to optimize your WordPress blog for search engine optimization. This is very important for your blog as a whole, your pages and your blog posts in particular.

Considering that the WordPress CMS comes with an already built in SEO compatibility and your blog can still rank in search engines without much optimization, to get in the best benefits and better ranks, there’s need to optimize your blog for SEO.

In this post here, you'll find a complete guide on how you can optimize your blog for SEO. Read it here.

Create Content
Now that you've successfully set up your blog on WordPress, the next thing you want to do is to create content for your blog. This is where the actual blogging takes place.

Considering that every audience has their own preferred content formats which may be; Text content, Video or Audio content etc. or a mixture of more than one, you want to carefully choose the Content format that will be suitable for your audience.

In some cases, you may not know the content style that will be suitable for your audience so, to get around this you may have to research some existing blogs in the niche you want to blog about and then find out their content format and how it is working for them.

Above all, ensure that your content style reflects your blog’s topic, your audience, and your goals.

So for example, a blog post about computer programming may need to include a combination of video and text content while entertainment content for gossip blogs may focus on creating mostly text content.

How to Create Your Blog Posts
The following are important tips on how to create blog content that will drive results for your blog…

Don’t make your posts too long or too short

Write your blog posts in such a way that it’s long enough to deliver value. Avoid making it so long that it’s intimidating or overly time consuming to read.

Though depending on your audience, it might be necessary to add some details or embellishments but the thumb rule is, make it simple and easy to read.

Get straight to the point, but make sure you’re adding enough content and detail. Most bloggers aim for about 1000-2000 words. Sometimes if you’re writing a tutorial on your WordPress blog, like I’m doing here, it could take more than 2000 words to deliver adequate value to your readers.

And if you’re creating entertainment content or gossip, celebrity blog etc., your content might have far less text. In whatever niche you are, you want to keep everything at optimum levels.

You can easily find out the content length that’s suitable for your audience by checking out other established blogs in your niche.

Use Attention Grabbing Titles

Your post title is the first thing a reader sees when deciding to read a post. If the title is interesting and attention grabbing it is more likely to get clicked.

So you’ll want to use a unique title that clearly explains what the blog post is about and what value the reader will get from reading it.

If you have a blog post that lists out steps that will help anyone cook noodles for instance, don’t title it “Cooking Noodles.”

Instead of that, consider using a title like “How to Cook Noodles with Chicken Sauce.” Such title would give your reader some good idea (or context) about the content thus making it more clickable.

PS: Be sure your titles are well optimized for the search engine. Also, understand that compared to others, titles that start with “how to” , “tips” etc. are very popular. And people search for them more often.

Create Valuable Content

Your blog posts, and all forms of content marketing, should deliver educational or entertainment value to your audience. This is what will make them stick with you.

The more value your readers get, the more likely they are to return for more, engage with your blog and potentially buy your product, or share your blog links with their friends.

Connect with your Audience

Authenticity is a great trait to have. Share your unique opinions, personal experiences, lessons or perspectives through your content.

Don’t be afraid to use jargons, slangs etc., if it adds to your brand personality, depending on your audience. I regularly use ellipses and emoticons in my blog posts sometimes as you’ll also notice in this tutorial.

Where possible and if necessary, share your personal experiences and opinion in your blog posts. It makes your content more relatable.

Use the Right Keywords

Keywords research helps you to optimize your blog posts with the right kind of words your audience will most likely use when searching for stuff that relates to what you’re writing about.

A keyword tool like Google Keyword Planner and other keyword research tools can help you determine which keywords and phrases you should be using in your title and the body of your blog posts.

Using keywords and phrases that match what people are searching on the internet can improve your search ranking, increase your blog traffic and post views. You want to research and plan your keywords effectively before writing a blog post.

Make your Opening Paragraph Captivating

Your opening paragraph can be the deal breaker in determining the success of your posts. If it’s great, readers will be intrigued to keep reading. If it's uninteresting, they may lose interest instantly and browse away from your blog.

For this reason, you want to pay adequate attention to your opening paragraph. Make it both entertaining and captivating for your potential readers to keep reading.

Use Sub Headings

Including sub headings in your blog post makes it more readable and well organized. It’s also very effective as part of your Search Engine Optimization effort.

Break up your blog posts with a different sub heading to highlight and separate the main points or topics of the post.

Create a Content Schedule
Even though content is king when it comes to blogging, in between writing great contents consistently and promoting your content, you’ll need a great deal of time.

For this reason, you want to create a schedule that will keep your blog updated with fresh content at regular intervals.

You don’t want your readers to forget about your blog so, you want to keep the blog updated in a way that will be suitable for you and your audience.

Final Words
Now, there are many other ways you can conveniently start a blog on WordPress and make money blogging. But, these are the most important steps you’ll have to follow…

In a nutshell, if you want to start a successful WordPress blog, you’ll need a realistic plan, domain name, a web hosting account and some important blogging tips to get started.

Also, remember real success takes effort, consistency and time. And this will be demanded of you as you work on building a successful blog for yourself.

Vickwinners:
Whether you’re a Web Developer, Blogger, Content Creator, Graphics Designer etc. creating a personal brand as a creative or building a brand for your small business, if you want to grow a brand that really stands out then you need to build an impressive brand.

The reason behind this is not far fetched. For your brand to stand out, it has to be really remarkable.

But what exactly is a remarkable brand?
A remarkable brand is a brand that has impressive features that makes it notable in the midst of other existing brands. Simply put, it’s a brand that you or anyone can actually make a remark about. That’s what makes it remarkable.

As you’d agree with me, for a brand to be remarkable it has to be at least relatively known in some way, either for something positive or negative.

Of course you want your brand to be distinguished in a positive way. And in the following paragraphs we’re going to discuss the steps you can take to create a really impressive personal brand that will help you stand out in your niche.

Set your Brand Goals

As a creative, you do not only want to build a remarkable brand, you want to build a brand that is well known for something spectacular.

So, at this point, you want to ask yourself the question, what does my brand really aspire to be known for?

Remember this could be anything. For instance, you could aspire to be the market leader in the Graphics Design niche for small businesses. You could aspire to build a brand that will position you as a thought leader within any niche of your choice.

Whatever it is for you, there has to be a specific goal you want to achieve by building a remarkable brand. And identifying this goal will shape your personal branding experience at all levels.

Identify your Audience
One of the most significant steps to take on your journey to build a remarkable brand is to identify your target audience. The reason you have to identify a target audience is because as a brand you can’t be remarkable to just anybody.

So, there’s no need to try to be everything to everyone. Instead, you want to be everything to that specific target audience that needs you, will be attracted to you and will want to identify with you as a brand. This is very important.

Define your Branding Strategies

After identifying your audience and the goals you want to achieve with your brand, you need to define the approach you want to take towards attracting this audience to your brand in order to achieve your goal.

So, begin to ask yourself or research possible strategies you can use to achieve your brand goals. There are many strategies you can use to promote your brand and attract the right audience both online and offline.

But to get things right, your branding strategies will be influenced by your goals and your target audience. Read this post by Marketing land and learn how to build a brand strategy.

Now, since you’re targeting an online audience, you want to build your strategies around online platforms like the social media, blogs etc. Ditto for an offline audience.

Where you are targeting a specific kind of audience for example an elite audience in a particular niche…

Not only do you want to create a brand that reflects the kind of brand that’s patronized by that audience, you also want to be able to target this audience through your brand marketing activities.

You can do this by identifying the platforms where this set of target audience can be reached, marketing approaches that appeals to them (You can do this by observing what existing brands they patronize are doing) and then choose what works for you.

PS: Remember you can always change your strategies from time to time to until you’re able to figure out a custom strategy that delivers your goals.

Create Content

Content creation is one of the full proof ways to create a brand that sticks in the mind of your audience. Remember that for something to be remarkable, there has to be a level of consistent repetition which is clearly noticeable by the audience.

As a creative entrepreneur without a big budget for promotional ads, one of your biggest tools to build this kind of remarkable brand is through the creation of content.

You want to create valuable content for your audience. And you want to create the kind of content that is relevant to your brand.

Over time, people will come to identify you with these kind of content. And as you continue to build expertise they will get to see you as an authority in the niche. And btw, always have in mind that the more value you offer your audience, the more they want to come back to interact with your brand.

Tell your brand story

Are you already doing remarkable things as a brand? Show it off.

Telling your brand story is one of the most impressive ways to build a truly remarkable brand. You can learn how to create a brand story by reading up this post by Linkdex.

It doesn’t matter what your story is about, people love story telling. And the good thing is, your brand story amplifies your culture, values and the things you do as a brand. Especially when it’s done well.

It is one of your most valuable tool to create authenticity as a brand while building rapport with your audience.

Be consistent

Consistency is one of the most distinguishing features of a remarkable brand.

In fact, doing something or presenting a particular image consistently, over a long period of time is one of the elements that makes both the action and the doer noticeable.

Just like you can’t imagine an Apple Inc. that does not consistently produce an Apple device with a high end value for it’s users, you don’t want to create a brand that is not consistent either on value proposition or in pictorial presentation.

I mean that everything you do as a brand has to be very consistent to a large extent.

If your brand colors are red and white for example then, you have to be consistent with those colors across your website, social media and all other platforms.

If you build a tech brand and you’re providing tech related content then as much as possible, all your content will need to have some tech related undertones, to stay on brand.

Final Words
In a nutshell, whether personally, professionally or business wise, building a remarkable brand takes a lot of work and effort but the reward is always very impressive.

To create a phenomenal brand, you need to identify your audience and your goals, create the brand that will drive results, show up consistently and then push through your brand with your content.

As a creative, these tips on how to create a remarkable brand has worked for both my personal and professional brand in many ways. It has also worked for other brands in many ways. And you can adapt them to work for your brand too.

Webmasters / ON-PAGE SEO Strategy For Small Businesses; The Complete Guide - Victor Winners by Vickwinners: 2:51pm On Feb 24, 2021
As a Small Business owner or Content Expert, Search Engine Optimization is not only critical to your success online, it is one phrase you're going to come across again and again.

But what exactly is On-Page SEO?

On page SEO simply refers to the internal search engine optimization done on a webpage. It is a collection of SEO strategies you implement within your own website pages, in order to make the site more visible on the search engine.

This strategy sometimes involves the use of keywords and other information in a strategic way, to drive specific search engine results for a website.

If you’re a new blogger, you may not know quite a lot about the importance of On-Page SEO but notwithstanding, the importance of on page SEO for every website cannot be overemphasized. In fact, on page optimization is one of the key SEO strategy you’ll need to put in place if you want to build a successful website.

To be more categorical, if you want your web page to show up on the search engine, you need to optimize it for the search keywords you want to rank for. And the first step towards getting this right starts with setting up a proper on-page optimization.

That said, you might be asking yourself this question… How can I really do an on-page optimization for my website?

To be honest, optimizing a new website for the search engine can look really daunting and overwhelming but, if you can get things right from the onset, you can get on to achieve a lot for your website within a short period.

In the following sub headings, I am going to walk you through the step by step approach you can use to optimize your website for SEO all by yourself.

Understand your Keywords

A lot of post like this will mention that keyword optimization is dead. But truth be told, people will always use specific phrases to search for terms on the search engine. So, even when the relevance of keywords in SEO has reduced (or let’s say evolved), compared to what it used to be, the use of keywords are still very important when it comes to on-page SEO.

Now, the first step to a proper on page SEO optimization is to understand the keywords you want your website to rank for. To do this properly, you want to find out the goal you want to achieve with the website. When this is done, you can now go ahead and choose the keywords that will help you achieve these goals.

Now, let’s break this down a bit…

Supposing you want to be selling romantic novels on your website, your key goals would be to get people searching for romantic novels to land on your website. In order to achieve this, you will need to gather important search terms that people would type into the search engine, while searching for romantic novels online. After that, you can now put them together on strategic location throughout your website then begin the optimization.

Optimize your Meta Tags
If you can recall, I just mentioned that for your website to get a better ranking, you need to put your keywords in strategic locations on your website. With strategic locations here, I’m referring to the proper use of your post titles, meta description, H1, H2 and your meta tags generally.

Now, the following are ways you can optimize your tags properly…

Title Tags: While optimizing your web pages, try to make sure that your title tag describes the post properly with the right keywords you want to rank for.

Meta Description: Meta description is a brief description of what your page or post is all about. To get the best out of it, you want to make your meta description as brief and compelling as possible, with the right mix of keywords that are relevant to your post.

H1 and H2, H3… Tags: These are also referred to as header tags. They are HTML tags that indicates the headings in your post.

They are supposed to be used as headings and sub heading throughout a web page so as to give the page (or post) the right structural arrangement and good user experience.

To optimize your header tags properly, make sure they include the keywords related to your main Keywords.

Optimize for Search Intent
In times past, it was easy come up with a content idea, find keywords, create content, post and go to bed. And then before you wake up it’s ranking well on the search engine.

Right now, a lot has changed. Beyond Keywords optimization, there’s still a lot you need to do. For instance, before writing your post you need to understand the user’s search intent for that particular post idea.

Again for example, if you want to write a post like: “how to make money online“., you cannot just do a keyword research and head over to write your post. You need to understand the user intent.

And by this I mean that you have to understand exactly what the user wants to see, when they type in the keywords; ” how to make money online”, into a search engine like Google.

To know this properly, you have to type in these keywords into the search engine and find out the web pages that are ranking for those keywords. Find out, is there any specific things you noticed about the structuring of the post, web pages, titles etc.?

In most cases, there are some topical ideas that users intend is to see whenever they make searches on the search engine. For instance, when searching for a keyword like “making money online“, a user might be prefer to see a “how-to article”. on the search result page.

If this is the case, Google will prefer to show up posts with a topic like “how to make money online” over other list posts like “5 ways to make money online.”

This same thing goes in other areas too. If the user intent for a particular search term prefers a more detailed post like “the complete guide on on-page SEO” and all you have is a short post like 5 easy ways to optimize on-page SEO, your post might not have a good ranking as compared to the other post that is more well detailed.

With situations like this, it can look rather difficult to rely on your Keywords alone. Knowing exactly what the user intent for a post is all about will save you the stress of writing posts that will be ignored by the search engine.

Install an SEO Plugin

Installation and setting up of an SEO plugin is very important when it comes to on page SEO.

Although with a WordPress website, you can still run some optimizations without a plugin, the use of an SEO plugin will help you to achieve much more. For instance, search engine optimization plugin like Yoast SEO, Rankmath, etc. Do have specific optimization options that are not available in your default WordPress installation.

They also have other technical SEO functionalities like the XML site maps function, among others. And with these plugins, you have a better leverage to optimize your website’s meta tags accurately.

Getting most of these options from the default WordPress installation is near impossible in most cases. This is why installing and using an SEO plugin to optimize your website will improve the overall visibility of your website.

Improve Your Website’s Speed

Over the years, web page speed has become an important website ranking factor for pages. In fact, the faster your website loads, the easier it becomes for a user to get across to the website.

Slow loading websites are bound to increase bounce rates and search engines like Google do penalize such websites. To get a better on-page SEO experience, you need to have a fast loading website.

If you’re on WordPress, you can begin the journey to increasing your loading page by putting in place major optimization plugins to get your website running faster. Talking about optimizations, there are a handful of caching plugins that can be very handy here.

Also, there are image optimization plugins SmushIt and others that can be helpful to your website speed when used properly. You need to get your hands on these plugins, test run and have them installed on your website then optimize them to get a faster loading experience for your users.

This in the long run will improve your on-page SEO to a very large extent.

Use a shorter Permalink Structure
A permalink is the the link to your blog post or web page.

Usually a lot of new website owners do not give a thought to the structure of their permalinks this until it becomes very late. Normally, it is important that you use the right permalink structure for your website. And by right I’m referring to a short, and descriptive permalink structure.

Reason this is necessary from the beginning is because changing your links after the website is live or after publishing several blog posts on the site can lead to a number of issues.

If you’re writing about a topic like; “how to create a blog, make money online and become a super rich billionaire “ for example and you choose a permalink structure that includes the month, day and title of your blog post, this is what your link will look like www.abc.com/how-to-create-a-blog-make-money-online-and-become-a-super-rich-billionaire/2020/10/17

Now, if you take a look at the above link, you’ll realize that it is rather too long and cumbersome. Instead of having your permalink structured this way, choose a structure that does not include the publishing date. After that, you also want to edit your URL links before clicking the publish button for any post.

PS: Note that if you’re publishing a website like a news blog that updates frequently, you may still want to keep a structure that included the date of publication. But either ways, you can still publish a news website without including the date and day of publication in your URL.

Optimize the Alt text for your images
Most amateur bloggers do not optimize their images at all. And this is not right because Images do rank on Google.

There’s a high chance that the image used in your post can rank very well on Google image search, if you optimize the them with the relevant keywords.

Instead of adding images to your post without changing or updating the data, it is very important you fix the Alt text for these images as they can also boost your on page SEO and drive direct traffic to your post.

Create Content that is simple and Relevant
After following through the above listed steps, one of the biggest steps that will improve your on page SEO optimization is going to be your content.

I will want to refer to this step as the mother of all steps because without content that s well written and optimized for the search engine, 60% of all your on page SEO Optimization is almost useless.

Content is the the most important part of Search Engine Optimization and for things to work out right, you must get your content right.

Putting the above listed steps into consideration, you need to research and create a timely and high quality content that is relevant to your audience’s needs.

Ensure you use smart SEO and Content Marketing Strategy to create content in a simple and straight forward way that will be easily appreciated by your audience and optimized enough to rank on the search engine.

Final Words
Optimizing your on Page SEO can be a bit technical but you can still get it right if you follow through the steps properly. You can also get our SEO experts to optimize your web pages and get more visibility for your website, if you find things too difficult.

In conclusion, whether you’re building a new website or optimizing an existing website, if you follow through these steps, and set up a better On-Page SEO for your website, you’re going to get results that will drive meaningful outcomes for you and your business.

PS: Beyond the strategies I’ve listed here, there are other things you could do to optimize your website and get an even bigger visibility for your small business. And I will be sharing most of these in subsequent posts.

Now, it’s over to you. What steps have you taken to get more visibility for your website?

4. 35 VS. 70% Royalty Options
Publishing with Amazon offers you the chance to gain either 35 or 75 percent royalty earnings, based on the listing price for your book.

For all books sold below 2.99 Dollars, and over 9.99 Dollars, you stand to gain about 35% royalty remittance. On the other hand, books sold over 2.99 to 9.99 USD offers you a whooping 70% in royalty.

To choose a convenient royalty for your book, you’ll need to consider several options. For instance, you’ll have to put into consideration, factors like;

a.) Available territories where your books will be sold. Most of the time, the 70% royalty is only available for sales in the US and most of Europe.

For sales in some locations outside this, you’ll need to be enrolled in the Amazon KDP Select before you can enjoy the 70% royalty.

b.) Book Size; you’ll also need to consider the file size of your book, as this will affect your cumulative royalty per sales.

c.). Competition Pricing;
Finally, you’ll also need to put into consideration, the average prices for other books that are similar to yours.

Having a thorough look at these pointers will help you in choosing the right listing price and subsequently, the royalty that will be beneficial to you, based on your realities.

5. Marketing and Promotions
If your sole objective is to make money selling your book on Amazon then you’re going to do a lot of work when it comes to promoting the book.

Reason for this is because, you’re going to be the one doing most of the promotions for your book, if you really want to sell.

Of course, you can always pay people to promote your book on your behalf if you have the means.

Generally, you have the option of promoting your book either by the use of the free promotional options available or the paid promotions. I made a comprehensive post on how to promote your books on Amazon here.

When it comes to free promotion, there are a lot of things you can do to promote your book for free.

This could include things like enrolling your book in the KDP Select program and using the few available promotional options, getting an author website and blog, writing guest posts, getting featured on podcasts and interviews etc.

The paid promotion on the other hand can be quite pricey. Wit paid promotion, you can choose to use third party promotional platforms like social media Ads, paid ads on other websites, Google AdWords etc.

You’ll also have the option of using Amazon’s own paid promotion channels.

If you’re planning to use the Amazon platform for paid promotion, you’ll need to have at least 100 USD in your amazon account before you can get started.

If you’re not able to access such amount then promoting your book on Amazon might not be the thing for you

6. KDP Select
KDP Select is a program available to authors who are willing to give Amazon exclusive rights to sell their ebooks only on the Amazon stores, in return for some promotional tools that will help the author to sell even more books.

It is usually an optional offer in which users can opt in and opt out usually, within a period of 90 days.

While KDP Select usually sound promising for most new authors, it does not always mean all authors will make a lot of sales when they enroll on the program.

The program has both it’s pros and cons which includes for instance; that you will not be able to sell your book on any other platforms apart from Amazon while you’re still enrolled in the program.

This means that besides selling it offline, you’re stuck with selling your book only on Amazon, if you subscribe to the program.

On the positive sides, you can use the various available tools for KDP select authors, to promote your book.

Based on the foregoing, it is very important you study and understand your options before enrolling on the program.

7. Genre
Your genre is one other important thing you should consider before publishing online.

While it is not arguable that Amazon sells books on almost all the well known genres on earth, there are actually a handful of genres that command the largest number of sales on the platform.

In order to make effective sales on Amazon, you need to consider your book’s genre, and be sure you’re writing on a genre that has a reasonable number of fans on the platform.

Doing this will make it easier for you to promote and sell the book.

In conclusion, publishing on Amazon is a great idea but as always, there are certain things you will need to put into consideration before making a final decision to publish on the platform.

Now, over to you. When it comes to publishing on Amazon, which of these things are really of a great concern to you?

Literature / 7 Key Things You Need To Know Before Publishing On Amazon- Victorwinners.com by Vickwinners: 5:32pm On Oct 10, 2020
Are you a Nigerian or African author aspiring to publish your book on Amazon?

Actually, publishing on Amazon is a great idea. But, just like any other platform, Amazon publishing has its pros and cons. And there are a lot of things you need to know about Amazon before you get to publish on the platform, especially because of the geographic location. Knowing about these things will help you in making decisions that will affect your book’s sales and ultimately, the overall success of your book.

Now, without much ado, the following are some of the important things you need to consider before publishing your book on Amazon;

1.Your Objective
One of the most important things to consider before publishing on Amazon is your objective as an author.

Before you get started on your publishing journey, you need to ask yourself, what exactly are my objectives? What do i want to gain by publishing this book?

Is your objective precisely to make money online as a published author? Are you trying to create a voice or you just want to leave a legacy that will showcase your expertise?

If your publishing objective is the former or latter, your strategy will be different.

Understanding your objective helps you in getting things in the right perspectives, before you finally kickstart your publishing journey.

After getting clear with your objective(s), you can head over to create your goals and marketing strategy, based on that.

2. The target Audience
The second important thing you need to consider before publishing on Amazon is your target audience.

This is a no brainer. There’s always a need to consider your target audience before you embark on publishing on any platform, whether online or offline. This is very important.

To get started with this, you want to start with asking yourself questions like; who am i writing for? Who’s likely going to buy this book, after I get it into the market?

Are these people on Amazon? Do they buy books from Amazon or would they be willing to make purchase from Amazon, if I publish my book there.

Knowing the availability of your real target audience is very important to the success of your book.

Because if there’s no sufficient number of potential buyers for your book on Amazon then there might not be any need to publish on the platform in the first place.

Another thing you need to do is to consider the content of your book.

Does your content sit comfortably with this audience? Or is there a way they can connect to what you’re writing about?

Getting to know this clearly will guide you on your decisions as to whether publishing on Amazon will help you achieve your goals as an author or not.

3. The Listing Price
Before publishing on Amazon, you also need to consider the listing price for your book.

To get a realistic listing price for your book, there are certain things you need t look into. This includes among other things, the best price for the average buyer, based on the purchasing power of your audience and the price that will leave you with a decent royalty, after all expenses are deducted.

If you’re also publishing a paperback copy of your book on Amazon, before fixing your list price, you need to pay attention to the printing cost, cost of shipping the book to the buyer, Amazon charges and your own net royalty.

Having a fair knowledge of this will help you in setting a list price that will be beneficial to you, your audience and Amazon itself.

Considering the cost price and corresponding royalty, you’ll have to decide if publishing on Amazon is the right thing to do or not.

If making profit is your primary motive and publishing there is not worth it then you might want to consider an alternative platform.
