WebmastersHow To Add Links To Your Blog Posts And Boost Your Rank by Vickwinners(op):
Hey fellow bloggers and global changers.

Trust you're having a wonderful day?

Ok. So I'm here again with our usual blogging tutorial and in today's smart blogging I'm a share with you, tips on how to add links to your blog posts.

Yeah. You know, linking is what makes the internet what it is, a network of websites connected together.

Now if done properly, linking to other websites can help your blog's SEO. Sorry if I'm sounding a bit techy.

Let me break it down. Linking happens in two ways. Linking to other people's websites (outgoing links) and getting links from other websites to your website/blog.

Look at it this way. I want to write a story about blogging for instance. In the story, i might need a brief definition of some blogging terms so my audience can understand what I'm blogging about.

But considering that listing all the definition in my article might make the whole post look long, boring and disorderly, i decided to quickly look up other blogs that define those terms, and then link them in my post at the relevant spot.

With this, if my readers want further details about definition of each term, they can just click on the link and read full details of the definition on the other blog.

Now, this saves me time while also giving my readers the complete information.

Now, to put it in a more simple way, links are interpreted by the search engine like thumbs up for a job well done. More like the likes we have on fb for instance when folks #write good stuff.

That's why the more quality back links a blog/web page has, the more it gets ranked better by Google.

Oh i even forgot to mention that you can write a post add a link to someone else's post that's relevant and then ask them to share the post with their audience. Now that does a whole lot of good for you two.

Alright, let's go check out how you can add links to your blog posts.

There are so many reasons why we should add links to blog posts but i will list the few most important ones below.

1. It gives your readers something more to learn about the topic. Here, instead of being the one to write it all out, your readers can also read more about your topic from other people’s blog.

A word of caution though… Just be sure you don’t “over link” it can be very distracting to readers.

2. Adding links to your blog posts reduces the time spent on writing a blog post. So instead of focusing on researching and writing the whole nitty gritty all by yourself, you save yourself some time when you link to other cool stuff in the topic area.

It could be an older blog post you’ve written on your website or a post written on a different blog entirely. When done right, linking broadens the topic for your readers and saves you some time in return.

3. Drives traffic to the linked post. When you link to a different post, people will most likely click to the link and read the other posts.

This drives traffic to the other post. On the other hand, your links also serves as an up vote, indicating to the search engine that the particular post you’re linking to is something that’s worthwhile.

The above is one of the important reason why people guest blog for other top blogs in their niche.

Let’s move away from the importance of having links on your blog posts a bit…

Let’s check out a real life application of a web link…

Okay. Let’s assume i want to write about the search engines and how they work. And this includes a collection of Google, Yahoo, Yandex, Bing etc…

I’m looking at writing nothing more than a 1,000 word blog post. So i begin to write my blog post…

At a point while writing the post, i realized that i can’t keep up with the 1,000 word limits for my blog post because the part i wrote about Google alone is over 500 words.

Because of this, begin to search for other websites that write about the search engines individually and in details.

Upon finding the post, i realized that those sites have been able to cover a lot more details than i did in my blog post because they are writing on the individual search engine.

I decide to write briefly about these four search engines in my post because i don’t want to exceed that 1,000 words limit.

WebmastersA Quick Way To Optimize Your Blog Post For Search Engines by Vickwinners(op):
Hello Bloggers, it's yet another edition of our free smart blogging tutorial.

Today i'll be sharing with you some quick tips on how to optimize your blog posts for the search engine.

You see, this lesson is important because unlike the post you make on the social media, when it comes to blogging, you can't just write a post and expect it to be found on the internet without putting some things in place.

Putting these things in place is regarded as Search Engine Optimization. And when done right, It helps the search engine to pick up your stuff and show it to the right audience more often.

Okay... So when it comes to writing online, one of the best things you’ll understand is that two million posts are updated on the internet every single day.

In fact, according to a recent report, over 2 million searches are conducted on Google every minute. So if you really want to make your blog posts findable on the internet, there are certain optimizations you must put in place.

Alright. This is exactly what I’m talking about… To avoid writing a blog post that’s not read, there’s a way you can update and optimize your posts in such a way that Google and other search engines will easily bring it up in the search results when someone is looking for a write up like that on the internet. And like i mentioned earlier, this is called search engine optimization.

Now, there are different kinds of search engine optimization. Like the on-page optimization, off-page optimizations.

The on-page search engine optimization helps your site come up on the search engine result page for a particular keyword. It’s always about the first step you’ll have to take towards optimizing your blog for search engines.

Oh by the way, keywords are search strings people use on the internet when they are searching for stuff on in there.

Okay. So the off page optimization talks about your blogs’ authority on the internet… And this refers to how other websites rates and link to your blog depending on the depth of your blog posts and the kind of influence your content carries.

We’ll be focusing on search engine optimization for blog posts in today’s smart blogging tutorial.

Now let’s dig it starting with…

Page title(post title). This is the most important aspect of your Search Engines Optimization (SEO), for the particular blog post.

Your page title is the small empty space in the area of your blog where you write your content. You can find it up there with an inscription like “enter your title here”.

It is what people see at the top of their browser window, when viewing your post. And it’s the same thing that’s provided in search engine results as the title of your posts.

In order to write an effective page title you must do the following…
*Make it attractive in a way that will make people want to read.

* Include the major keywords. So if your blog posts is about “ways to effectively manage diabetes among elderly people in Nigeria” for instance, and your major keyword is “managing diabetes in Nigeria”, be sure to include the keyword in your page title.

* Put your keywords close to the beginning of the page title. And be sure to use different page title for each of your individual posts. Making each title a reflection of the idea of what you’re writing about in a way that is both attractive and Search engine optimized.

Meta Description. The meta description provides a short summary of your entire write up in the most enticing way. It is what shows up in the search engine results page, below the page link.

While working on your posts, you can locate the meta data space below the writing space in your dashboard area by scrolling down past where you are writing your blog posts

If you’re using the Yoast SEO plugin, just below that writing area, scroll down to where you have Yoast SEO displayed until you get to “edit snippet”.

From there you can click the edit snippet link and put up your content there… Making sure what you’re writing is not above 150 characters limit.

For you to write an effective meta description for your blog posts, be sure to include your keywords in the description.

According to a poll conducted by Hubspot, close to 50 percent of participants said they only read a post if the meta description in the search results indicates such post is related to what they are searching for…

So If you write it well, this is what will most likely tell a searcher whether your content is relevant or not that’s why you have to make your meta description is both enticing and optimized for the right keyword.

On the other hand, if you don’t choose a meta tag for your blog posts, the search engine might suggest one based on the search query… But it’s better you choose your meta data because you will be in a better position to optimize it as you want it to be.

Heading. These are text that appear more larger than other texts on the page. You can locate it at the topmost part of your writing area, in your WordPress blog, just below the “add media” link.

You’ll notice it is written as “paragraphs”. To use this feature, you’ll need to highlight the particular keywords you’re targeting in the body of the post then click on Heading 1.

Heading 1 tag gives the particular keywords more weight than Heading 2 and so on. That’s why you’ll have to choose at most one Heading 1 tag on a single post, unless you have a very lengthy post then you can use few Heading 2 as a subtitle or title of your paragraphs.

This is done because heading 3, 4 and 5 hardly has much weight so it’s better you avoid it.

Tags and categories. The categories and tags are found just below the post area where you write your blog posts. They are both referred to as taxonomy. Tags and categories helps in sorting your blog posts for easy usability.

A category is used for a more broader grouping of your blog posts based on the topics you write about. Comparing your blog to a book now, the categories is more like a table of content.

So for instance i categorize all our smart blogging tutorial posts on this blog on the “blog” category. The grouping helps readers to find all the tutorial posts at a single spot.

This is also repeated for grouping other sub topics of the blog. In fact, you can check it out by yourself.

The categories gives specific topic to your blog posts so you’ll want to name the categories based on your broadest blog theme and then put each new post at the relevant category before publishing it.

Tags comes in handy when you’re identifying specific details about your posts.

So even when this post you’re reading is categorized under blogging for instance, if you read this tutorial to the end you’ll find tags like: search engine optimization, meta data, page title etc. And I’m adding them as tags because that’s exactly what I’m writing about in this particular post.

You see, the tags are just there to categorize the post in a much more direct manner…

And unlike categories you can ignore the tags and leave it blank (though i don’t recommend this) but your posts will be automatically filed as “uncategorised” if you don’t choose a category for it.

This means you must always choose a category and tags for your posts before publishing them.

So here’s how far we’ll go in today’s smart blogging tutorial. In our next episode of the blogging tutorial, we’ll be talking about how you can add pictures and links to your blog posts.

And just as we wrap up, i want you to understand that the whole importance of Search engine optimization is about making your blog posts readable by both the search bots and human beings… So if you focus on improving the usability by following these steps, you’ll definitely get the SEO benefits.

I just noticed you're using a blog. I don't have an idea if Google's allows one to count the total number of words used. To be on the safe side, you can use a tool like https://wordcounter.net/ It will give you the exact number of words you're using when you copy your post and paste it there before publishing it.

Sorry i just saw this now. And i didn't receive your email.

By labels do you mean the main menu navigation? If that's what you're referring to, you can add it to your navigation in your dashboard area, that's if you're using a WordPress blog.

In the main dashboard area, on the left hand side, click down to whee you have Appearance. Hover your mouse and a new link will pop down a bit to your right hand side. Scroll over the new link and click on Menu.

When that's done, you'll be taken to a dashboard where you can edit the menus. From there you'll see options whih include both pages and categories... Select any one of them you'd want to display on your site and then click on add to menu. They will be added automatically.

After that, you can head over to the right hand side and adjust the menu in the order you want them to appear on your blog.

I hope that helps.

Magicdon:
Can u assist me on this please, i added navigation system on my blog. But it only appears on my main page; It don't appear on my labels or categories. How do i make it to appear on my categories eg facts, gists, news etc

Just checked out your blog... The issue as Google rightly noted is that you don't have much text alongside your posts.

Now, the majorly accepted word limit for each blog post is 300 words. Amything less than this will affect Google search bots' ability in identifying what the post is about.

To be on the safe side, what you have to do is that henceforth, you must try to include more words in whatever post you're sharing. Target atleast 400-500.

After a while you can then re-apply for adsense.

In the meantime, be sure your post has enough text content before you re-apply.

All the best.

Your AdSense application status

Thank you for your interest in Google AdSense. Unfortunately, after reviewing your application, we're unable to accept you into AdSense at this time.

We did not approve your application for the reasons listed below.

Insufficient content: To be approved for AdSense and show relevant ads on your site, your pages need to have enough text on them for our specialists to review and for our crawler to be able to determine what your pages are about.

To resolve this issue, please work through the following suggestions:

Make sure that your pages have sufficient text - websites that contain mostly images, videos or Flash animations will not be approved.
Your content should contain complete sentences and paragraphs, not only headlines.
Ensure that your website is fully built and launched before you apply for AdSense - do not apply while your site’s still in a beta or “under construction” phase or only consists of a website template.
Place the ad code on a live page of your website. It does not have to be the main page, but test pages that are empty except for the AdSense ad code will not be approved.
Provide a clear navigation system for your visitors so that they can easily find all of the sections and pages of your website.
If you’d like to monetize YouTube videos, please apply for the YouTube monetization program. Note that blogs and websites that contain only videos will not be approved.

WebmastersHow To Post From Your Blog To Your Facebook, Twitter And Linkedin Account by Vickwinners(op):
Hello fellow Nairaland blogging enthusiast, welcome to today's smart blogging tutorial.

Did you know that you can actually send your posts directly from your blog to your Facebook, twitter and even linkedin accounts without ever leaving your blog?

Most bloggers do not know about this. The few that know will always have to leave their blog to do that on the particular social media account.

In today's smart blogging tutorial, I'm going to guide you on how to post from your blog to your social media accounts without leaving your blog.

It’s very simple to post from your blog to the social media right now… And that’s exactly what I’m going to show you in today’s smart blogging tutorial.

Alright. So this is what it is...

After submitting your blog to search engines, the next thing to do before writing your first blog post is to link your blog to your social media accounts.

This is very important because sharing your contents on social networks can help you get a good number of readers back to your blog.

Besides that, the number of social media links pointing to your blog could really help a lot in telling Google if your site is a bit popular or not. So it pays to submit your blog to these platforms.

How to post from your blog to social media, the right way.

There are basically two ways to link your social media to your blog and post from the blog to your social media.

One of the ways is to link your current social media platform or page to the blog.

The other way is to create a brand new social media accounts specifically for the blog.

For this to really work, I’ll recommend you create a separate social media profile for your blog in most cases.

Although you can still link it up with your personal accounts if you want. But it all depends if you’re focused on creating a separate social media brand for your blog different from your personal social media brand.

Now before you create any social media accounts, you will have to install some plugins on the blog that will help you link to the account.

There are so many of such free and paid plugins out there but my top recommendation is Jetpack.

The plugin is developed by WordPress itself. It’s both free and useful for many purposes beyond social media.

If you didn’t install Jetpack already, get over to the left hand side of your dashboard,
click on plugins, you’ll find “install new” pop up along other options like that.

In the next page, type in “jetpack” in the search box on your left hand side of the page and click “enter” on your keyboard.

At this stage, the plugin will pop up, click on install new and when it takes you to a new window, search for jetpack, install and activate it.

Head over to Facebook and create a facebook page. Set up all the information. Be sure everything is on brand then after that, leave the account opened without logging off.

Now move over to your WordPress dashboard, by the left hand side you’ll see jetpack on it’s own, click on settings.

When you get to the main settings area, click on social media… That will get you to the social media platforms where you will now click on the particular one you want to add.

This will pop up a dialog box that will show you both your personal fb profile and the Facebook page you just created. Choose one of them.

I’d prefer you choose your fb page because when you do, posts from your blog will automatically be sent there. Same with the personal profile if you choose that.

On a good day, it’s better to go for a fb page because it can always get people back to the blog. And from the blog to the page, unlike your personal fb profile.

Same goes with twitter. It’s very essential you have an account there too.

Follow the same steps as you did for facebook up there. Set up an account and then link it to your blog through jetpack.

And then the next is Google plus. Google plus is a very cool tool to up your social media’s search engine optimization.

Get an account on Google plus through your gmail and also link it to your blog via the same Jetpack you used for the others.

And again you can also add up LinkedIn and any other social media profile you want still by following same procedures.

Set up your account here. Make sure everything is on brand. Link it with your blog.

Be sure to include the URL of your blog in all the social media profile. (you’ll find a space for this in the “settings” link).

Okay. So you’ve now linked your blog to the social media. Congratulations.

WebmastersHow To Submit Your Blog To Google And Other Search Engine by Vickwinners(op):
Hello bloggers on nairaland, I'm back again with our free Smart Blogging Tutorial.

And today we'll be talking about how to submit your blog to google and other search engines.

Before we start, i want you to realize that submitting your blog to the search engine is a very important aspect of blogging.

And it's important because unlike Facebook and other social media where your posts gets submitted to your friends whenever you make a post, no one will actually submit your blog posts to anywhere until you add your blog to the search engine.

So submitting your blog to search engines is almost like registering on Facebook if i should put it that way.

And after you submit your blog to google and those search engines, it becomes easy for them to include your post on their database and also share your posts whenever someone looks for it on the internet.

Okay. So before we proceed, let me talk about search engines in a lay man's sense.

Search engines are technological programs that people use to search for what they want on the internet.

A good example of a search engine is Google.

There are other search engines too… Like Yahoo, Bing, Ask.Com etc.

People use search engines to make queries on the internet.

So why should i submit my blog to the search engine?

The reason you need to submit your blog to the search engine is because for your blog to constantly come up in search results, the search engines will have to index your blog.

When they index your blog, the blog gets included in their database. This makes it possible that any time you update or write anything on your blog, it reflects in their database.

And when this happens, your blog will come up when someone is searching for something related to the topic you write on your blog.

Alright. So the most important reason you have to submit your blog to the search engines is to have your blog indexed on the search engine’s database.

But How can i submit my blog to search engines you ask…

The first search engine you’ll want to submit your blog will most likely be Google.

And there are two ways to submit your account to Google.

The first way to submit a blog to Google is to submit your blog directly using your Google account. It could be gmail or anything.

The other way is to submit it directly via the Yoast SEO, a plugin you will need to install on your wordpress blog.

If you decide to submit your blog through the Yoast SEO plugin, your Google account will be needed too.

And you’ll follow this simple steps i will be sharing with you…if you’re using Yoast SEO plugin, click on your ->WordPress dashboard area ->webmaster tools, ->choose Google search console.

This will take you to where you can login your google account. Be sure you login the email account you want to associate with the blog. This is the same email google will use to associate with the blog

After you login the account you’ll be redirected to the google search area (webmaster central, still on your google account page). This is where you’ll add the blog url.

Right on the webmasters central page, there are two methods to add your site : Alternate and recommended method. Choose the recommended method.

After you’ve chosen the method, click on the html button on the left part of your screen.

When that is done, a dialog box will be opened that contains numbers and figures that looks like like this one below:

GSf2v2ht0g1BSfhAA5j19enTKDGyAVh7-1pQA4ORLDg.

Copy the code between (content) and the double apostrophe (”) like this: GSD2v2ht0g1BSfhAA5j19enTKDGyAVh7-1pQA4ORLDg.

Paste the copied code on the Google search box on your blog. Then click on save.

After that, go back to Google webmaster central and click verify.

Your blog will be properly submitted, verified and added to google engine.

After submitting your blog to Google successfully, you’ll have to submit it to Yahoo and Bing search engines respectively

Yahoo will not ask you to create an account with them. So you might just skip that part and submit the URL of your blog directly.

To submit your blog on Bing, you will need to create an account with them then follow a simple direction on the site.

There are other search directories you’ll need to submit your blog as well.

Some of these search directories will demand that you register an account with them and have some good number of content.

Others will not require these procedures. But the ones we mentioned here are enough for a start.

After you’re done with the major search engines, you’ll now be looking at submitting your sites to the social media…

This is what we’ll be talking about in our next episode of the smart blogging tutorial.

I hate to talk about conspiracies… But then i believe blogging is one tool the world is really going to use to outrun the conspiracy of the traditional media who have consistently ignored and shut down the ordinary people and their voices.

Blogging is one huge innovation you and i should really be grateful about…

Because not only does the ordinary Joe now have an equal platform to have his voice heard around the world…

So many ‘John Does’ have found an opportunity to add value to others and still, a good number of people have also been empowered to make a living with the help of their blog.

It’s amazing isn’t it?

It really is. And I’m happy to say this again and again.

Indeed if you’re interested in blogging, you’re not in the wrong place at all. Because i feel that becoming a blogger is a very smart decision to make.

That said, in our last post in the Smart Blogging Tutorial, i told you about strategies that will help you in branding your blog in a way that will help you get it to the top in a short while.

Today we’ll be talking about how to choose a domain name for your blog.

Choosing the right domain name is one thing that can make or mar your blog.

Me for instance, i had to let go a blog i laboured for one full year after i realized that the domain name i chose was not realistic.

You really don't have to make this same mistake that's why i'm coming up with this post.

Like i mentioned earlier, your domain name is the name you’ll call your blog. It is what people will type into the internet to search for your blog.

So the domain name for this forum for instance is nairaland.com.

Yours could be anything perhaps; yourname.com but make sure it is something that captures the intent of the blog and is remarkable.

1. Never use your name as the domain name of a site if you intend to sell off the blog in the future.

2. Be sure your domain name is both short, memorable and pictures the topic you’ll be blogging about the most.

3. After that get over to namecheap.com or godaddy.com and check if the domain is available.

If the name is not available, you can still think up something close to what you really want.

So if you needed a domain name like “howtocreateablog.com” for example and the name is taken, you can get more creative and come up with something different…

Alternatively you could try “how2blog.com”, “how2startablog.com” or whatever it is you come up with, until you get a good alternative that will still reflect your blog topic.

4. Immediately you find out the domain name is available, buy it.

If you decide to keep it till the next day, another person might take it.

And when it’s taken you will be forced to find a different name. It’s happened to me.

So get your domain name and register it immediately.

After that, head over to choose a good web hosting company.

A web hosting company is a company that hosts your website content (both pictures, audio, videos and written posts) on their servers.

How they do it? It’s more like you owning a laptop and putting some files in different folders.

Your web hosting company puts the whole data on your website on their web servers.

This is what keeps your site online. And enables people to access it from anywhere.

Without a web host, your site could never exist on the internet.

OK. So when it comes to choosing a web hosting company, I’d recommend Smart web hosting. It's a Nigerian based hosting company. And their servers are based in The US.

They also have different hosting plans, including dedicated plans.

As a beginner, you should start with a hosting plan that reflects the purpose of your blog.

I mean if you’re intending to or have set up a plan for a website that will generate hundreds of thousands of hits in a short while then you have to choose a plan that reflects that.

Choosing anything less can get your site run out of storage memory especially if you upload heavy content.

Also you could run out of bandwidth if you have more site visits than your plan can handle.

This happened to me around July 2015. And for 15 days, my site was down until the following month. I lost thousands of readers. And it wasn’t cool at all.

So you have to choose a good plan. Or be sure to monitor your website traffic and memory limit from time to time and update your plan before you run out of resources.

Alternatively, you can go for a dedicated hosting if you have the money. But i don't advise you take this step as a starter unless you're sure you really need this.

Alright. So after registering your domain name and getting a web hosting account, the next thing you’ll do is design your website.

Check your email address for the email sent to you by your web host after you successfully purchased a a hosting plan with them.

Follow the link and login to your control panel with the login details provided.

When you login, scroll down to where you can find the WordPress scripts, click on install, wait for some minutes and you’ll be redirected after installation.

Click on the redirect link and get over to your WordPress dashboard. And let the main design begin.

That’s where we’ll pause for in today's smart blogging tutorial.

WebmastersHow To Create A Stunning Brand For Your Blog Like Linda Ikeji by Vickwinners(op):
I'm sure you've heard about exceptional blogging brands like Linda Ikeji, Uche Eze, Bamidele Onibulusi and so on.

You've been wondering exactly why and how they got to evolve such respected blogs.

Well, the one thing these guys share in common is a strong brand. Yes. Overtime, these guys have carved a niche for themselves based on the consistency of their brand.

And i can tell you, for real, it is possible for you to create an outstanding brand for your blog like Linda Ikeji even if you're a newbie blogger or someone that's been long in the blogosphere.

There are practically some few steps you'll have to take and that's exactly what i'm going to share with you in today's smart blogging tutorial... Okay so here we go.

And you can do this too if you’re going to take these steps we’ll be talking about in today’s episode of the smart blogging tutorial.

Ok. So the popularity of these bloggers I mentioned is not really unusual.

It’s been stirred by one big factor; their exceptional brand which has come to be recognized over time for one spectacular feature or the other.

These guys were each known for one thing. Either their style of writing, the consistency of their blog post or their ability to meet the needs of a peculiar audience.

Someone like Heather for instance became known for the honest and down to earth real life stories shared on her blog.

These stories inspired her millions of readers to get back to her blog, over and again.

Linda Ikeji and Uche Eze both brought an amazing new dimension to gossip and entertainment blogging.

They told their story in such personal and informal way that made their readers who enjoyed their story style come back again and again to read their blog.

Talking about the benefits of creating an exceptional brand for your blog, I want to really emphasize on the fact that these benefits are extremely huge.

Imagine getting paid speaking engagements because of your huge brand on the internet. I’ve had a handful myself.

Most strong blogging brands have not been able to keep up with the numerous speaking engagements they’ve had overtime.

Also in the area of thought leadership, you can gain a lot based on the brand you create for yourself.

Then there are issues of freebies from reviews and recommendation and so on. I’ve personally enjoyed lots of these too.

OK. So I have just discussed with you a few of the benefits of creating a unique brand for your blog…

Without wasting time, I will list below a step by step plan you should use to create an exceptional brand for your blog..

1. Create your blog persona: A blog persona is the ideal reader of your blog. You will have to research this. (Don’t worry it’s not a difficult thing to do).

Get to work and begin to imagine your target audience.

Ask yourself, will my blog be mostly read by teenagers, youths, Adults or… Whoever you can imagine.

When you find out who your readers are, try to picturize one of your readers… You can use an imagery of someone you already know in that group.

Get into their head. Find out what exactly interests them. What they’d really enjoy reading about.

What language is mostly relevant to their age or occupational group and what colors or design will suit them.

2. Choose your blog personality. Armed with your idea of the perfect blog reader now, the next thing you’ll want to do is create a personality for your blog.

By personality, I mean how you want your blog to be perceived.

So do you want to be seen as a smart brand?

Do you want your readers to perceive you as a friendly down to earth kind of blog,

or do you want to be seen as a vibrant, innovative and controversial blog?

Your brand personality will not only be dependent on what you want, you will be influenced by the persona you created in step one.

Because whatever brand personality you decide on must reflect the interest and personality preferences of your target audience.

So if your blog is targeting a tech community for instance you must create a personality that reflects that community.

3. Decide on a stunning domain name. A domain name is the URL of your blog on the internet. Something like www.victorwinners.com.

At this stage, you’ll sit down to decide on a domain name that will not only reflect your brand definition in step one and two, but something that is both remarkable and memorable.

So instead of going for some abstract name, you’ll want to look for something related to the purpose of your blog.

With that, people will easily understand what your blog is about without much guess.

Also you can choose your name as the domain name depending still on the purpose of your blog.

4. Choose the blog name to match the domain name. A blog doesn’t just have a domain name. It also has a blog name.

This is what most people get to recognize the brand for.

So for instance this blog has Victor Winners Dot Com! As the blog name.

And then victorwinners.com still goes for the domain name.

Instead of going for different domain and blog name, which will cause confusion in most cases, using your domain name as blog name helps a lot in making the name stick.

This is one of the simplest and most effective ways to name a blog.

5. Get a tagline for your blog. A tagline is a small line of what your brand represents.

It is normally shown on the upper part of your blog, below the blog name. And it has to indicate in a few catchy words, details about your blog.

So on this blog for instance, what we have there is “Giving you smart internet strategies”.

You can also decide to use your mission as your brand tagline.
