Olenyhc: Good day everyone and a huge appreciation to all those that answer questions on this platform,
I have been trying to check the requirements for the application of the compressed BSN programs but it seems those with previous nursing degrees are exempted from offering it. A number of schools I have checked/contacted so far either exempted those with nursing degrees on their websites or told me the program is not for internationally educated nurses. So please, does anyone know any internationally educated nurse(s) that took this route or any school(s) that offer accelerated BSN inclusive of applicants with previous degrees in nursing. @vickyehi do you personally know anyone with a nursing degree that succeeded through this route? I appreciate your responses. Specifically university of Alberta. I have a collegue there right now. |

kaffy788: . Hi I’m a graduate registered nurse in Nigeria and I wish to practise in Canada. I’ve read most of the post here and the advise was to apply for compressed BSN which would make it easy for me to write NCLEX-RN. My questions are; would I make it known that I’ve BNS in Nigeria when applying. Is it BNS I’d apply for or Masters to enter Canda? If BNS , would it be advisable to apply for BNS straight from Here or go for like public health then change course when one gets there? Thank you! I'd advice you to apply for something that shows a logical progression and relevance to your job or prior education first. This is just to acquire the study visa. Hopefully you are granted, then you can switch courses or even school after entering Canada to the after degree nursing programs. |

amzienoni: Yes, I know the scores will be recalculated, I am currently on 466 with spouse accompanying but will move to 470 without spouse, so I just want to be sure that if i change to spouse unaccompanying but the draw cut off now drops to say 466, can I change to spouse accompanying after ITA. What if you get ita with the 470 score? What then will you do? |

Amy360: Happy new year friends,@vickyehi and Barbie,I wanted to start my online processing with nmc uk and nmcn, wanted the registration to be fast for me,but a friend of mine who did far back at Oct 2020 got verified a week ago,and she said it now takes 3months,please I want to know if that's the standard now,or pls if there is way to speed it up,i don't mind, would really appreciate it.please @ vickyehi, you haven't replied to this. I dont know how long the process for nmc currently takes, but you can try to get an inside person who may be able to facilitate the process for you. I have a contact that I am willing to share, but I haven't used him in a while and so am not sure how much he actually speeds up the process these days. You can send me an email for his contact. |

Jeremy1234: Applying for a school that doesn't require writing ielts You can check it out on google if you doubt Okay, but only lazy students would pay someone 5k for something a Google search will give them. However, I know lots of people want to be spoonfed so 5k is a little price to pay for their laziness. |

BlackNostra: Please I need some piece of advice concerning the next step to take. I'll be graduating from Nursing School by May and I'm weighing my options; - Getting my bsc through direct entry. (4 years) - Acquiring my RM certificate through post basic midwifery ( 1yr 6mths) and use the time to get prepared financially for the transition process. Honestly, the thought of spending for another 4 years in a Nigerian university is terrifying, considering the hassles attached to it. Please, I need a second opinion. Your response will be really appreciated. I'd advice you to not spend any more time schooling in naija. Work and gather your money to move to UK. When you get there you can bridge your Rn to BSN for as little as 1year. No knowledge is wasted if you choose to go for midwifery, but it's your time you would waste. |

ChinmaRoxy: Hello everyone. I had an interview with Allison Jones Consulting firm on the 14th of January, 2021 for HCA position. I saw their job advert on indeed.com for IEN's. During the interview, I was told that once successful I wld pay the sum of 6,700usd in 3 installments for LMIA and others. On the employment policy form, it's written no fees from candidates but I don't know why such huge fee was mentioned during the interview session. I want to find out if anyone has heard about them and how genuine they are. They have a website and a Facebook page which I had gone through but still not convinced. From the research I made, fee for LMIA is I,000CAD . Please people in Alberta should also help me to verify. Make person no enta one chance. Thanks all. Waiting for your respnses. Bro, na better one chance be that imo. First red flag is that employees are not to pay for LMIA. It is against the Canadian law for the employee to pay for such. Secondly recruiting a HCA from abroad is also shady as it is not an occupation in demand, nor is it skilled enough to warrant international staffing. |

Olenyhc: Happy new year everyone
I'm a bnsc nurse with 3 years work experience after graduation. I've been doing my masters (health related but not nursing) and have not worked as a nurse since 2018. I want to migrate to Canada and I want to know if its possible to work as an RN without NNAS process. My research so far indicates that internationally educated nurses will have to apply to NNAS first so they can determine one's level in nursing and then prescribe any bridging courses/practicals that will qualify the person to write a licensing exam. I heard their process takes 2 to 5 years so I'd like to know if there is a shortcut. Is there a short university program I can do to brush up on my nursing skills and qualify me for the licensing exams without applying through NNAS? If anybody else has had any experience with them, can they share please? Any input would be appreciated. Your research is mostly correct. There is no way to get your license recognized without NNAS. The only thing you can do is retake your bachelors degree. There are after degree nursing programs that you would qualify for and they are 2yeard long. It is just a compressed 4yr curriculum so its like nursing from scratch. |

Uzland: Thank you very much for your in-depth response, Vicky. Ugh, Nigeria never fails to disappoint her citizens! Please what viable means could one achieve this PR through the visitor's visa route? Studying overseas is rather too expensive. Thanks. There is no route to get PR status through a visitors visa route. Except of course in the 6mths of visiting, you fall in love and marry a citizen or permanent resident. |

Uzland: Please if one comes to Canada with a visitor's visa, what's the next step to becoming a nurse's aide? And is it a pathway to PR? If yes, how long might it take to achieve PR through this path? Thanks. A visitor's visa give you rights to visit ONLY. You would need to exit the country and apply for student visa from your country of residence. Any form of study in Canada with a study permit is a pathway to PR. However you can not use a healthcaere aide admission to file for your student visa from Nigeria because heslthcare aides are not recognized in Nigeria. And the major aim of your student visa application is to proof that the studying you are embarking on would be beneficial to the Nigerian society and your life back here in Nigeria. |

Jaycew: Hello Sorry to bother you, please can you or anyone shed more light on Omni and what it's all about? If you read through previous posts, you would find all the discussion and arguments about Omni. In summary, graduating from Omni does not equal you having a license to practice. Omni can be likened to an organized Jamb lecture. Knowledge gained is useful in attempting your jamb, but it doesn't qualify you to take jamb (thats more your secondary school or proof you have graduated from a secondary school). |

KennyUG: Tell you sister to focus on IELTS if her goal is to practice as a nurse in Canada
Once she is able to conquer IELTS she can then apply for adaptation program in Canada with OMNI college 6m-1yrs program
But I will advice her to focus on UK for now since you're not that financially buoyant
Let her sit for OET and. CBT These types of programs at Omni DONOT guarantee you your license. Best option is if you enter Canada with Omni admission, change school and study to be a health care aide (manitoba 1year). Ensure your study permit is still valid and apply for Pgwp. Use Mpnp to get PR status then go back to school as a PR to study nursing. |

jpepper: Hi,
Please i need some guidance on the Canada process. It seems the information here is for folks with a Bsc/Msc in nursing, my younger sister just finished from a 3yr program at a school of nursing in Nigeria, not a bec program. what are her options to migrate to Canada? She has no work experience so I am considering having her travel via the student route since no work experience for PR but i dont even know what programs she needs to apply for because the information on the websites that i have checked is confusing...i dont know anything about nursing. What is the best course/program that she can apply to, cost effectiveness is also key so can she leverage her 3yr program from Nigeria to reduce her length of study/conversion. Ultimately the goal is for her be able to practise as a nurse here without us going bankrupt lol. Thank you for your help Congrats on her graduation. *For Canada, you are right that she doesn't qualify for PR right now. *Her options for study permit is a BSN program at any university she can afford. * she can not trade any of her Nigerian RN education for credit in any BN program as she isn't a Canadian RN at this time. *schools for undergrad BN would cost from 18k to 30k tuition alone. My advice, go to the UK work and bridge your diploma into BSN and or a masters degree. Use express entry to return to Canada and start the licensure program. Migrate to Montreal Quebec as I gathered their process is less tedious. |

Jaycew: I thought as much. Thank you so much sis. Can 1 year internship fly? Or what do you suggest? It depends, bit you can check your CRS score to specifically estimate how many years experience she would need. Judging from the current trend of very high scores, 1 year experience with just one degree would not yield the type of scores that gets drawn these days (470s upwards). To score that kind of score one generally needs to be below 30yrs have at least 2 degrees or a masters, and have 3 years work experience. |

Hope that's clearer Work experience can only start counting after you graduate from your program. So she would need to finish writing her council exam ist before any experience starts counting. |

What is the process of becoming a nurse in Canada in a province of Manitoba 3. How long does the process take 4. How much is likely cost

Also, edit your nmc profile and ensure the names match. Henceforth, know that these 3 names are your legal names and ensure consistency in your documentation. |
