Juddy2018: If you have facts to back up your claim, pls include proof of that before you "shame" an entire country. BTW.....I believe the 1 year nursing program is a post licensure program. Anyways In USA you can go from RN to BSN in less than a year if you so please (Western Governor University).I technically completed my RN to BSN in about 12mths. It was intensive but it is possible. |

I am sure if I understand your question but I'd answer ro the best of my understanding. As a Nigerian RN/RM, in express entry yiu will need to apply as a registered nurse because there is no LPN designation in Nigeria. All you would need is an evaluation body that will recognize your RN/RM .... I am not sure which body currently gives a positive response currently. On getting to Canada, yiu can choose to get your license as an LPN or RN. LPN certification is generally a little easier. |

kaffy788: I'd advice you to apply for something that shows a logical progression and relevance to your job or prior education first. This is just to acquire the study visa. Hopefully you are granted, then you can switch courses or even school after entering Canada to the after degree nursing programs. |

Amy360:I dont know how long the process for nmc currently takes, but you can try to get an inside person who may be able to facilitate the process for you. I have a contact that I am willing to share, but I haven't used him in a while and so am not sure how much he actually speeds up the process these days. You can send me an email for his contact. |

BlackNostra: I'd advice you to not spend any more time schooling in naija. Work and gather your money to move to UK. When you get there you can bridge your Rn to BSN for as little as 1year. No knowledge is wasted if you choose to go for midwifery, but it's your time you would waste. 4 Likes |

ChinmaRoxy: Bro, na better one chance be that imo. First red flag is that employees are not to pay for LMIA. It is against the Canadian law for the employee to pay for such. Secondly recruiting a HCA from abroad is also shady as it is not an occupation in demand, nor is it skilled enough to warrant international staffing. 2 Likes |

Olenyhc: Your research is mostly correct. There is no way to get your license recognized without NNAS. The only thing you can do is retake your bachelors degree. There are after degree nursing programs that you would qualify for and they are 2yeard long. It is just a compressed 4yr curriculum so its like nursing from scratch. |

Uzland:Canada is very strict about over staying visa. Honestly you would be useless to yourself in those 2yrs because unlike usa, there are very limited under the table jobs. So fending for yourself will be a nightmare. Regulating your visa even after marriage may be difficult because you may be faced with a Ban for overstating which would render you inadmissible. Also that will cost you thousands of dollars to hire a very good lawyer with no assurance. 1 Like |

Uzland:A visitor's visa give you rights to visit ONLY. You would need to exit the country and apply for student visa from your country of residence. Any form of study in Canada with a study permit is a pathway to PR. However you can not use a healthcaere aide admission to file for your student visa from Nigeria because heslthcare aides are not recognized in Nigeria. And the major aim of your student visa application is to proof that the studying you are embarking on would be beneficial to the Nigerian society and your life back here in Nigeria. |

Jaycew: If you read through previous posts, you would find all the discussion and arguments about Omni. In summary, graduating from Omni does not equal you having a license to practice. Omni can be likened to an organized Jamb lecture. Knowledge gained is useful in attempting your jamb, but it doesn't qualify you to take jamb (thats more your secondary school or proof you have graduated from a secondary school). |

KennyUG: These types of programs at Omni DONOT guarantee you your license. Best option is if you enter Canada with Omni admission, change school and study to be a health care aide (manitoba 1year). Ensure your study permit is still valid and apply for Pgwp. Use Mpnp to get PR status then go back to school as a PR to study nursing. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

jpepper: Congrats on her graduation. *For Canada, you are right that she doesn't qualify for PR right now. *Her options for study permit is a BSN program at any university she can afford. * she can not trade any of her Nigerian RN education for credit in any BN program as she isn't a Canadian RN at this time. *schools for undergrad BN would cost from 18k to 30k tuition alone. My advice, go to the UK work and bridge your diploma into BSN and or a masters degree. Use express entry to return to Canada and start the licensure program. Migrate to Montreal Quebec as I gathered their process is less tedious. 1 Like |

Jaycew:It depends, bit you can check your CRS score to specifically estimate how many years experience she would need. Judging from the current trend of very high scores, 1 year experience with just one degree would not yield the type of scores that gets drawn these days (470s upwards). To score that kind of score one generally needs to be below 30yrs have at least 2 degrees or a masters, and have 3 years work experience. 1 Like |
