vibrant99: How many years have you lived in Canada?
I don't think you understand what i am trying to say... -35 isn't and will never be a normal day like everyday of your life in Canada!
Have you ever been to Siberia ? I was opportune to have visited Siberia at -27, It was a shut down. where will the bus that you ride pass through?
Unless the bus has some packer in front of it, what is my point? Life cannot be the same and as normal as it should be.
If you are a Nurse and prefer to practice in Canada doesn't mean it is better there, if you had a better option you would have moved, leave matter for Mathias. Smh Bro, the point here is that the definition of an extreme weather is dependent on what that community is accustomed to. For example, Texas received 2 inches of snow and it was more than they had ever gotten in more than 20years. The city had to shut down over 2inches of snow. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/globalnews.ca/news/3904850/texas-louisiana-snow-weather-shut-down/amp/A canadian would generally laugh over that news because we are accustomed to functioning with snow fall Greater than that. It would take more than 2inches to lock down manitoba. Towards the end of 2019,most of manitoba had a snow fall of more than 20 to 40 cm. Some places got 60cm of snow. Now, this was a snow fall that halted most movements in the city that day. I still had to go to work though , but only those with trucks dared the roads. The highways were shut down for about a day and half while they cleared them up. https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/manitoba-snowstormPoint is that "normal" is relative. |

Amy360: Good evening everyone.pls @ Barbie's and to other personnels here.I'm an intern nurse in nigeria presently who has the plan of travelling to Canada to work as a nurse,I do not have idea on how to go about it,so please I would be grateful if you could tell me the step by step process on how to go about it.Thanks as I await your reply Not to discourage you or anything, but unlike other countries , canada requires you to be within canada to complete the credential process. This means that it is virtually impossible to complete the licensure processes without being a temporary or permanent resident of canada. This is because along the evaluation process, you would be required to take exams in canada. You might be required to do a top up program also offered only in Canada. The easiest way to immigrate to canada is the Express entry system and being a registered nurse doesnt give you any edge over a HR person. Refer to the sister thread below for more information on Express entry. https://www.nairaland.com/5471101/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/392#86872249My advice is to head to the uk first as it is cheaper and faster for you to start practicing. |

SOLARPOWER1: I already have ielts 8.0 on overall average but I don't know how to go about the whole Canadian nursing procedure.. Am I supposed to apply for the general Canadian express entry? 8.0 is an overall good attempt but what exactly are your individual band scores. For you to be successful against the current CRS trend for canada, your ielts should be more than or equal to 8777 in LwRS. You should be less than 31 with 2 evaluated degrees. To be able to help you better, Tell me the following details: Age Marital status Years of work experience Highest educational qualification Knowledge of french Sibling in canada |

How early should I apply for medicals and what hospital is better, because IOM doesn't seem to have an online presence and the next available appointment date for Q-Life is 1st of April? My 60 days expires on 20th April. Guru's in the house please help me with this. The clinic in Abuja have earlier dates than Lagos but it is a little bit more expensive. These are documents that I submitted in application: 1. Tuition receipt of 6,000 dollars 2. Letter from the company I work 3. Letter of Acceptance 3. My sponsor's statement of account with 11k pounds. She is my elder sister in UK 4. sponsorship letter from her, her driving license and data page of her british passport. 5.2land agreements and Survey plans of my landed properties in Nigeria. Though I am not married but I have a son. But there is no provision for that in their Imm form so I didnt include him in the application. There are dad's properties that I am also in charge as an administrator. I started working with a construction company after my graduation, left for an appointment with one ex governor and later went back to the construction company after the appointment. The bolded portion might also come back to bite you in the ass. There is a provision for the addition of children (natural, step or adopted in the "family information form".

vibrant99: Just listen to yourself!
Do you know what is COLD? or u are typing this from Indonesia?
-45 is crazy, Does Siberia get that low? what can you possibly do in that weather? you still trek or take buses to classes or you are advised to stay back home? will you be able to find your way to the grocery store?,.... I only brought the COLD weather to fore, i didn't say people should not go to Canada because it is Cold, You that is in -45 degrees and still happy congratulations, You don't even know that will make you depressed?
Canadian Weather is F up, so get your senses together and it is the immigration parley that gives you some hope, tell me you will take CANADA over AUSTRALIA if the opportunities were the same , be deceiving ursef there.
Believe it or not, Brandon does not shut down in -45 weather. If it goes up to high 40s or 50s, the high school downwards may close but rarely do the university except there is a blizzard. When I treked, I still had to walk to the bus station in -35. It is the way of life here and those in manitoba are used to it. Depression is a mental condition which isolation may trigger but not when you have a community and you keep busy. I hate to be rude online but I dont appreciate your tone @ bolded. Now will I take Canada over Australia? Yes I would. Opportunities are the same all over the world for me. I can choose to virtually live in any part of the world that has a skilled worker program or a work visa program. This is because I am PROUDLY a Registered Nurse and I could get licensed in what ever country and move over. Currently I am licensed in 2 (soon to be 3- Nigeria, USA, Canada respectively). Most of my friends are in the UK practicing but I chose to remain in Canada. So Vibrant99 please be more civilized in your replies. Wishing all Visa hopefuls a good result. It would surely end in praise. |

Can you help put this question across if you can as well during the conference. Thanks a lot. Have you been maintaining your license in Nigeria? You would first have to do the remedial courses to get re licensed in your country of training. |

scaezar: So the update is.. Appparently, my cousin that i said submitted for me picked a 'NO' when asked if i have been refused a visa before. This was supposed to be a YES because i was denied a visiting visa in 2017. Now they sent this to his mail todaY. I believe this is a sensitive issue and i need help.. Im just hopeful that since they didnt refuse straightaway, theres still hope? Help? Anybody? Employ the services of an immigration lawyer. They would try and construct a letter to attempt to adequately explain your situation. Legally, you are responsible for everything on the application once the electronic signature is put. Hope for the best. Best of luck. |

vibrant99: In the GCMnotes, it only said " The applicant Made mention of a Job without a Recommendation from the Place"....... Re fired with only the recommendation as the "add on"......Thats it.
But come to think of it, How many of Una Fit stand this COLD? Toronto was -26degrees! When talking about cold in Canada, people in toronto should go and boil beans and sleep . Manitoba(winnipeg/brandon) we decend to a low of -53degree celcius. This year has been kind and lowest has been a real feel of -45. My point is that people still dey here. Them never pack go back to naija so leave that matter. Dress warm and in lots of layers and you would be fine. May it end in praise for every hopeful. |

ope4all: Good Afternoon guys,
PLEASE I NEED YOU GUYS URGENT HELP PLEASE... I'M CURRENTLY IN THE USA AND HAVE LOSE MY STATUS ALREADY ON A STUDENT VISA, AND WITH THE SITUATION OF THINGS NOW IN THE USA THINGS ARE GETTING HARDER TO READJUST STATUS, PLEASE I DONT MIND GOING FROM USA TO CANADA TO STUDY, PLEASE ANY RECCOMMENDATION OF SCHOOLS I CAN APPLY FROM HERE WITH AFFORDABLE TUITION,... PLEASE I WILL BE SO GLAD TO HEAR INDIVIDUALS RESPONSE.... GOD BLESS In other for you to be successful in a study Visa application, you need to have legal status in your country if residence. Your best option is to try to apply to a school in the USA and get your F1 visa back. I know the catch there is that you cant get F1 visa from within USA but if you can at least get your I120, you would be restored. Last option is to return to Nigeria where you have legal status and try canada from there. NB if you have been out of staus for more than 90days, your situation is more critical and may need a very good immigration lawyer. Best if luck. |

Deejah20: Thanks for answering me. I also know health science does not really have anything to do with it but nursing is hard to get into and my grades are not too high. About palliative care, I don't really know much about it but I guess I will search up on schools that offers it. Palliative care is a post graduate certificate course and you can only get in after obtaining a bachelor's degree in nursing |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vickyehi: 3:35pm On Feb 20, 2020 |
Deejah20: Thanks you very much for answering. The main reason why I opted for health science is because nursing is too competitive and my high school grades are not up to the requirements. Am afraid they may reject my admission. The health science am going for, after a year of offering science courses, you get to apply for a major like radiography, respiratory therapy but nursing is not there but since respiratory therapy is still in line with helping people, am interested in the course. But am thinking they should correlate since they are both in the health line. As per the study gap, if I have the necessary documents from my former schools like my transcript, admission letter, school fees receipt, it should be okay right?. Apply to brandon University for their nursing program. They would offer you admission based on your post secondary education and the high school cert. You may not be able to transfer any course but they would give you the admission. Some students are required to take a few high school courses as pre requisites when they arrive here. |

Deejah20: Hello everyone, I need your help. Am interested in studying in canada but I have some difficulties. 1. Am 20 clocking 21 this year but am just going for my undergraduate program in bsc in health science. 2. The reason why am just going for an undergraduate program is because since I finished secondary school in 2015, have not been to able to get admission into a university but I have an ND in computer science(2016-2017). 3. Right now am in school of basic midwifery (2018-2021)and my program is ending march 2021.That is the reason am going for fall intake of 2021 but am going to be applying for schools this year. My questions are: _ is it possible for the gap to affect my admission and visa process even though have been going to school since I left secondary school. _ The program am going for, does it align with each other.i just chose health science because nursing is hard to get into.
I would be very grateful if someone could answer my questions. Thanks in advance. Who said nursing is hard to get into Firstly, you would be admitted as a secondary school entry. That is your RM would not count towards your admission. You can show progression by telling the VO that you plan on studying Bachelor's in Midwifery on a later date, but to do that you have to get your Bachelor's in Nursing first. 2nd option is for you to look into relocating to the UK or Newzealand with your midwifery once you have passed your council. For these country you can relocate as a professional on a temporary work Visa. Refer to the thread below for more info on working abroad. https://www.nairaland.com/2863557/nigerian-nurses-midwives-dream-working/119Best of luck! |

God will help him as he spends the money. may it not be used to solve problems Contact the person you payed the money to. Ask for the remitta receipt. Approach it from a non accusatory perspective. The person may or may not have payed the 53k to the remitta. I would like to know the outcome of this. Please note that you should employ diplomacy as unfortunately you are still in Nigeria and things sometimes work against the innocent. |

I also looked up diploma in nursing in Australia and I think I fit in even as a non- sci. Student. cc: vickyehi Like most people have rightly chipped in, irrespective of whether you were a science or art student in Nigeria, you can gain admission to study nursing in the usa. Being an art student may only mean that you may be required to take more pre requisite courses before the beginning of your main program. |
