Hello, I'm moving to Canada in a few weeks, can anyone help with useful tips on how to easily get accomodation, LMIA approved jobs and best place to reside as a new immigant

I advise you to “move” with extreme caution. Don’t forget that the realities of Canada is that the so called lmia jobs are not flowing in abundance. Have a strong plan B. Also move to a very rural area for the best chance at lmia. Atlantic province will be a good place to start your research. Remember your 6mths starts counting when you land. Don’t sell off your Nigerian assets and don’t quit your job in Nigeria.

Best of luck and may the land favor you and yours.

I have submitted my application and to be honest the currency difference is massive.
Current difference for a family of 3 is 3million give/take. From 7million+ to 10.5million +. Haba This is too significant I think.

Gather the money in your account in case they ask for an updated account statement. Most things about immigration are locked in on the date you submit. If an RFE is raised to show a new statement of account, then you can do that.

But for now, open a dorm account and save in USD.

Canada currently permits people with visitor's visa to apply for work permit which means that going to Canada on a visitor's visa with the intention to get work permit and start working is possible and acceptable by Canadian government. Therefore, it is not a bad idea or against Canada public policy for a visitor to have the intention to work in Canada while on a visit visa because Canadian government has confirmed a public policy which empowers visitors to convert to work permit if they wish

If you tell your border officer this, you will be on the next flight back to Nigeria.

The only purpose to be stated is VISIT. Stick with your reason for visiting. Even when you got your visitor visa as a spouse of a PR holder under special policy, you are still expected to state your purpose at the border as just a VIsITOR.

Meaning you should clearly state the date you will return back.

No one will come and look for you on that date. So just state it and keep it moving. Don’t be unfortunate to yourself.

Are there people in Canada who have applied for visitor visa while waiting for the spousal permanent residence application to be approved?

Yes.

Visitor visa was approved. PA applied under “special instruction/policy “. We included the AOR of the spousal PR application.

I have an issue. So visa was finally approved on the 10th October by Accra. And its expiry date is 16th October ( based on medicals validity).

Counter foil online says expired as at today 16th. Note that the package has still not gotten to the PA.

Has anyone had something similar, how can I deal with this. My person is getting worried. They already sent a web form. New medicals booked for 18th.

Hi guys,

My medicals will expire OCt 16th and counter foil on my tracker shows (issued Oct 10, 2023 to expire OCt 16, 2023). Problem is that the passport is still in Accra and I am unable to make that travel date.

How do I get them to reissue me a new visa. I have medicals scheduled for October 19th, 2023.

If my Manitoba mpnp sponsor is out of a job, does that affect their ability to sign my application as my Manitoba connection?

Very Urgent Please 🙏

Can the wife of my Cousin be our Manitoba supporter for MPNP application? The husband who is my cousin, is unable to support us, as he's yet to get his PR card for some reasons.

No she can’t. You have to wait for your cousin to meet the requirements before you can be eligible.

I think PA was misinformed in all of these, there is no such requirement as buying a ticket. It would not influence the issuance of the visa. All you and PA can do now is to patiently wait.

Thanks

In the grand scheme of things, this is barely important. Worse case is to do another medical before traveling, it doesn’t invalidate the PR visa.

Thanks.

Ticket was already purchased as proof to ircc that PA can land before the medical expiration date. Does anyone know if PA can go and collect the passport in person?

No agency is perfect, this is the only point you made, others are gibberish. Packages from direct hire is better than Passport USA, Avant, shearwater etc. A proverb says: what elders see sitting, when people like you stand up they won’t be able to see it. I won’t respond to your next comment if you decide to quote me because either you have not experienced the system or too myopic to think or you are just being stupid.
Nurses after experiencing the system will come back to this post. This I am sure.

Rather than dishing out insults, share your own unique experience and things you possibly learned tge hard way.

I am with Westways and they have been fantastic as an agency. The major con with them is communication.

I still wouldnt prefer direcr hire because if you dont like the work environmwnt, you cant just switch. With an agency, you can request another hospital without harming your contract with your sponsor.

Update:

We got DQ I think June, I was expecting Montreal to take 1year for the interview date like they did with my friend. But surprisingly we got a date in august for OCT 31st. I came down to Montreal to have the interview and they asked us to provide a different type of police cert.

Apparently the one we got was the basic criminal record check, but they wanted the “full repository from RCMP”. Anyways, I went back to work and we are planning on sending the additional documents along with our passports back to the consulate soon.

I needed my passport to get back into the states, so I collected it back after the interview.

Wishing everyone a testimony filled year. Feel free to send me an email after passing Nclex and in need of a USA employer.

I just paid the £140 for the NMC-UK, and in the email they sent to me, they said I shouldn't do anything until they get a feedback from NNMC, ABUJA. Please does that mean I don't have to pay for the verification again?

I'm really confused

They don’t know how nmcn works. Unfortunately nmcn charges for verification, so you will have to contact them to pay for verification before nmcn responds back to the NMC uk.

@ vickyehi please I paid for verification and change of name on the 2nd of Dec and I'm yet to be verified but my status shows 'Parked'. Do you have an idea what that means?

I don’t…..I’d advice you to give it some time and check again, or facilitate it if you can’t wait.

Hi everyone
Please, I need recommendations for Nursing agencies in the US that don't emphasize current job experience, I have a gap in my work experience. I have gotten my ATT and will be writing NCLEX soon. The agencies I have contacted so far require current working experience, and I am not currently working.

Write, pass and then send me at dm. I’d get you one asap.

Thanks for all you do here.
I have Bsc in chemistry and I to plan my japa in future with Canada in mind.

Apart from going through the university, where can I get a Bsn. Does school of nursing or colleges award it?

While still in naija, I want to get a form for school of nursing in NAUTH so that I can use it whenever I’m ready but my problem is this: I found out that I have hepatitis B late last year during my marriage test.

I have been taking medication for it. Can the above pose a barrier for me? Thank you for your honest response in advance.

Merry Christmas.

Colleges affiliated with universities can offer BSN . But Canada doesn’t have school of nursing. All RNs are BSNs or BN grads. Colleges run LPN programs.

Keep taking your treatment, but hep B doesn’t make you medically ineligible for immigration.

This is exactly what I'm wondering. I hope it won't be up to 2 - 3 yrs but not impossible.

Any particular nursing school? Or more importantly, apply to do what program? Is there a nursing assistant program? And is such a program recognized by Canada?

She can apply to do a RN program in a school of nursing or college of nursing. I think they award them a hnd right now. Or you can wait till she gets to Canada before starting her nursing journey. She can always work as a support worker in Canada before she finishes school. You don’t need special education for that.

I think Canada requires BSc to be a Registered Nurse unless it is no longer necessary.....

Nigeria most times will give u RN or HND courses which will qualify for LPN.

Alternative to Nigeria if you have the money, is to go to Cameroon for HND or BSc and license there before travelling

Canada doesn’t require BSN to have a Canadian license. You can do your degree or hnd or diploma in anywhere in the world.

Thanks very much.

She is sure of the spousal visa (my fiancée).

This is basically the blueprint we have. Step by step when she comes.

What we're wondering is if she should study something in Nigeria in the meantime in addition driving, french, english.

If she is still in Nigeria for the next 2-3yrs, she should apply to a nursing school in naija as that will save you lots of money and you will be debt free.

Hello everyone,
I studied MSc pre-registration adult nursing in the UK and wish to relocate to the US. Does anyone know the best way to go about credential evaluation because of the lack of mental health, genealogy and paediatric theory and practice hours for those of us who studied adult nursing?
I will really appreciate any guidance or assistance.

Let me know how this turns out for you. I know CGFNS doesn’t give a favourable report and most nurses were required to take courses to fill the gaps.

Hello
Someone please advise!!!
Please I'm an RN and a nursing mum with a month-old baby and I just got a job offer with a Trust (NHS Scotland). I have not received COS yet but I am planning to relocate as soon as I get the COS
I would love to travel first then my husband joins me later because of his job. Should I take my one month son with me or should I leave him behind so that my husband brings him later?
What are the challenges involved in relocating and preparing for the OSCE with a month-old baby?
Will the Trust allow me to stay in the accomodation with my son?
I need guidance please

My take may be very unconventional, but I would advice you as someone who knows the types of challenges you will face.

Don’t go with your child!!!!!!!

Reasons:
-There is no free child care for you.

-Except you have lots of money to rent your own place and pay for an external person to help out.

-Most day care are more expensive for kids less than 3mths, that’s if you even see any at all.

-Do you really want to leave your 1mth old with people you do not know in the uk??

-You can’t take baby to your osce prep class so you will be highly distracted.

-Your income at this stage will not pay for your living expense and child care.

My advice is to leave the child with the father and have family help you care for the baby by assisting your hubby.

-Write and pass your osce IST before sending for your family

-Or you can choose to wait a little longer in naija and resume on a later date if your employer permits.

-Don’t have mum guilt, it will be hard but just know that it is more difficult on you and hubby than on the baby.

-Breast milk is great but baby will also thrive on formula so don’t let super momma’s guilt trip you.

In the end, do what works best for you and your family.

Thanks a lot, does westway offer premium service & can the applicant choose preferred location/state or westway doesn't allow that?

Yes they offer premium service for i140. You have options for preferred state, but it is largely going to depend on your experience and where they have a need and an international nurse program at the time you arrive.

Greetings, I do not have any nursing qualification or experience but I intend to apply for 2 year M.Sc pre-registration adult nursing in the UK.

My question is at the end of my msc programme, what band will I start working with and can I use the qualification to practice in the us or canada.

You will most likely start from band 5.

You could use it to practice in Canada(a few provinces), but CGFNS isn’t currently giving favourable response for USA license to the pre registration applicants. This may change in the near future as the shortage worsens.
