Are you kidding? Did you say "He probably doesnt want people to know he did that."

We are not talking about his personal money, it is the money people donated to aid his survival, hence people deserve to know how the money was spent so as not to deter them from further helping should another needy surface.

Note: I'm not hating, I just feel it is proper so as not to discourage donators..

And for the treatment, didn't he say the healing was all natural / miraclous!!!

My permanent home is in calgary, but currently based in sask for work. I am currently in weyburn, just about 2hours drive from North Dakota. Would be in calgary for christmas with the family then move to regina from january to april. Dreading the winter and everything it brings along...icy road, cold, costly bills, shorter days e.t.c, and its not funny working in -30 degrees outside in mid winter for 2 straight consecutive weeks.lol. I miss working in calgary. winter in calgary is still mild cos of the chinook.
For some friends in the construction industry, they are basically out of jobs during winter months. I am grateful for what i have.

With op's skills..he would easily get a job in his field in any of the country he decides to move to since he is in a non-regulated profession, but he would have to consider his wife's career. Pharmacy is tough to break into in canada for foreign trained pharmacist; he would be better off if he compares the level of ease/difficulty of australia with that of Canada.
Oh wow! I can't imagine. Yea, most people are out of jobs in winter. Especially in that field, and other fields that entails being outside for a while.

But the good side is, most of those jobs are more expensive in winter, so it sure pays.

I already told Op, he's the only that knows what he's looking for. He has to weigh his options strictly.

Definitely true, Pharmacy is tough to break in, just like nursing. She'll need to do some exams, be a part of the regulatory bodies, (CPhA/NAPRA) and even stay for while before practising.

I had a friend who went through all of this and had to move back to UK to practise.

In all, I do wish him the best in making a decision.

And I wish you, best of Luck with the winter.

Well, he could lie but the secret will come out one day.

Talk about the money, if the guy is genuine and have a good heath, by now we ought to have read a news where it says that he used the many donations to provide help to the needy he met at the hospital.

Tell you what, there is more to it than he is telling us. Is either is was a staged scam or he is just greedy and selfish.
Haba don't conclude just yet. Maybe there's more to it, we wouldnt know for sure.
It's possible he even had to spend all of that on treatment. Also you wouldn't know if he had plans to donate the rest to the needy, would you?

Giving is not showing off. He probably doesnt want people to know he did that.

I still think he deserves some form of respect for atleast saying the truth.

Bros go where you mind tells you...nobody helped you decide to apply for the two countries PR and i am sure you must have weighed a lot of things before applying...as for people who told you about making more money in one country then i must tell you that Nigeria is far better in terms of making money cos you pay no tax...and you have luxury of being noticed with your chicken change in naija...Pay,efficiency,social benefits, infrastructures are all the same in this two countries...both economy are good...medical is superb in Canada, child benefit support is superb in Canada same as Aussie...difference is Canada is cold Aussie is hot with snakes and kangaroo,Canada has warm from nearby US while Aussie is point of no return...Canada is multi-culturally diverse without racial discrimination..Aussie got that in excess...Canada has more countries to visit visa free as a Canadian passport holder more than Aussie..cost of living in both is high ...but in all naija still better pass o o cos even oyibo go hail you for street when you cross cotonou buy one small tokumbo car..and for naija you can pose for shoprite with the bread you went there to buy and people go snap you pixure post for linda ikeji..owambe dey naija e no reach Aussie and Canada...effizy dey naija wella bros...so compare and contrast
lmaoooo!!! Owambe ov laive grin grin

Gbam! You nailed it!

I have friends who relocated from Australia to Canada and complaining about the racial discrimination in Australia. Don't know how true it is. But I never knew it's that severe. Would love to visit Australia some day though.

People find it difficult to believe when I say I've never experienced racism here. I'm not disputing the fact that there are racists, (I know friends who have experienced it before) but it's rare or maybe because I dont just seem to send anyone.

Also, I believe the diversity in culture, makes it hard to be a racist here, because before you even insult another person's race, another person go don look you insult your own race aswel.

Besides, we forget that we sef get our own for body even for the same Naija, Tribalism is like water. So why question racism? e.g. Nairaland Cyberwar. angry

I was shocked today when I went to OnlinePunch to read a news and I saw comments by different "e-terrorists" insulting each others tribes. I thought it only existed on Nairaland/Facebook.

Abi is it the fights between people of same race, different countries we wanna talk about. eg. Nigeria and Kenya"
Like the saying, "Quench tribalism first, before condemning racism"

Also, we always tend to ignore the good part. There are really nice people here.

It's here I realised that if someone offers to go to a mall for you or assist you in a way that seems so weird and inconviniencing to them, don't be skeptical about them. "Most" of them have no intentions to harm you. They're just being extremely nice.
(Unlike in Naija that you'll be suspecting a person for being extremely nice. Chai I love Naija grin)

It's here I learnt the courtsey of holding the door for a person behind you, even if they're quite some inches away. It was one of my cultural shock.

People smile Alot here. When your eyes meets another person's eyes. You just smile for no reason. cheesy That also was a cultural shock. Although, behind some of those smiling faces, there are some depressed hearts. (Especially in Winter).

And they really like to talk alot with you, especially the Older ones. Cos Most of them are lonely.

I admit that in all, it can never be like Naija. Chaiii. I used to tell People that, people here can never survive what we, Nigerians have survived and still surviving.
Even when things gets hard, we still shrug it off, and hope for a better tomorrow. Even when we go to bed on an empty stomach in Naija, we still wake up the next day, with hope to find bread to eat.
But here, people commit suicide sere sere. Read the notes some of them leave behind, and the reasons will amaze you.

I love Naija. E go better! E gats better! cool

Ajo Oda bi Ile!

I have never been to Aus, but the 2 naijas i have met in Canada that relocated from Aus to Canada with their family (as they couldnt get Aus PR) both say Aussie is far better than Canada (pay, efficiency, social benefit, infrastructure). They also said they would return in a heartbeat if they get Aus PR. That's is their opinion though. One even said they give 5k dollars to parents of new born babies. This i still find hard to believe sha.

Left to me..the cold is enough to swing me to australia.....when the cold starts in Nov(double digit below zero, and its gonna be here till april (6month). Except you can live in expensive vancouver which has UK type of weather. Lol

Hi guys.
Please, i need your advice.
I have been invited for Canadian and Australian PR. I am really confused as to which to pick.

I am an IT guy(Java, Web, ASP, C#, Android). I have eyes for Toronto or Melbourne. Married to a Pharmacist (female o) with one kid.

I have researched my eyes out and read everything there is to read. I still can't decide. I think I am even more confused.

I don't think I can afford to apply for both of them now (Buhari has not been nice embarassed).

For those that have done this before, what is your opinion.

BTW, I'm not afraid of cold weather, so its not really a factor against Canada.

Thanks
Which one is "Female o"? Everyone knows a Pharmacist can be a Female. undecided

Which person in the mob will agree to come and testify? It automatically leaves them open to prosecution for criminal assault cos last time I checked jungle justice isn't legal and I can use scope to rope him/her into it by subtly questioning him/her till they implicate themselves (at that point I guarantee u they will withdraw their testimony) also interrogation (dunno about naija but in the US it's equal to kidnapping / attempted kidnap)

Also he could claim he was buying it for some friends too (as his lawyer i'd go and get some people to stand in as 'his friends' with proof they can afford the phones)

Also if he could claim he was gonna make transfer along with the cash (u can't prove otherwise as far as he got money in his account) even if he didn't have enough in his acct he could claim he was expecting funds to enter (as his lawyer i'd also go and get people willing to testify they were gonna transfer funds to his acct)

Also he can claim he didn't know much of what he was saying as he wasnt thinking straight due to the heavy beating he was receiving/received which cause brain trauma (as his lawyer i'd hustle a willing doctor to corroborate with facts e no dey hard)

Bros a good defence lawyer will sit down... put himself in the position of the prosecutor, think like the prosecutor and prep his client using a Q&A OF all possible questions.

Trust me in this case the defence lawyer holds all the aces.

Let's not forget no matter the outcome of the case there's still a separate case of CRIMINAL ASSAULT O owing to the jungle justice.

So even the owner of the business will be bargaining on that one.

Cc: vickyrotex
Wow oh Wow!!! Bravo!!!! cool

You made a very wonderful analysis.

I really do not wanna know if the analysis was faulted.

I just love how you included how the defender will help in different cases you sighted.

I dont intend to make any further analysis.

Let me just chip in, The sales boy could even be implicated by the Accused. He can say he bargained with the sales boy and he agreed to sell it cheaper than the normal price, cos he also wants to steal money from his Boss. And the accused could say, they planned to tie him (sales boy) up, and then leave the store, so in pretence the sales boy, would act like he was robbed, and couldnt do anything. But the sales boy probably saw his Boss approaching, so he decided to opt out of the deal, and screamed so they could follow the accused. That way, who would they believe? Afterall, its his word against the supposed victim. Unless there's ofcourse a camera that would prove otherwise. But think of it, if there was a camera, and they were able to look it up, the accused wouldnt have been able to "lie" as supposed. So obviously, there was no camera inside.

Truth is, its the Prosecutor that will suffer most in this case. As he or she has to present sufficient evidence, not all this hearsay. And Naija hasnt advanced to that level, as stated earlier.

That said, your last line got me cheesy cheesy

Bravo once again! This made my morning.

U will read the rest analysis in your dream as I'm about to go to bed and continue the analysis in my dream. Happy dreaming .

Do u know that the cost of all the phones in question is more than 3 million naira? So, he went to buy phones of such amount in Ikeja of all places and he decided to pay by cash ? Or he went for his debit card? Sorry, he would need at least , 7 cards to make such payment as he won't be able to spend more than 500k per card . By the way, who is he to be buying phones of over 3 million naira at once ? Is he now into phone business? In court, most judges take substance over form . Hope u understand the meaning of that ?

Tell him ifaa has declared him a thief , and there is nothing he can do about it .
I'm tempted to continue this analysis, but I'll pass. As I clearly stated earlier that the reason I'm commenting on this issue, was because of the analysis between you and Lordbolton, which I found really interesting. And I decided to chip in another factor to support his facts.

Since I've stated my opinion about that, I'll just let it slide.

And remember I said I'm not on any of the parties side.
So I dont need to analyse further.

However, if I was to fault your comment, those words in bold letters are the ones I would work on and trust me I have alot to counter that. grin

I just didn't wanna type too much that's why I just felt like ending it.

What these guys don't get is using the English system (which naija follows) th burden is on the state to prove it's case.

Now they have to prove their case beyond reasonable doubt...and this case is purely a 'he said-sales boy said" ish thus subjective which automatically makes it impossible.

In fact The very fact they have admitted the sales boys actions led to his lynching puts that business in trouble grin
Hahahaha. cheesy Exactly! And the English law entails Legal precedent. How many Judges or Jury for Naija get that time?

They are not supposed to take the law into their hands kwa grin

I've been silent on this issue, but just wanna chip in.

I've been following the analysis between the both of you (perryy) and I must say it's interesting and impressive grin
However, I dint expect you to give up so soon. cheesy

The "zooming" off part. It's his Word against theirs. And whoever's got more proofs may win. Even onlookers can't prove anything.

He can deny speeding off, unless there are pictorial evidence, he can even say where they met his car is where he parked. Afterall, it's not like the Western world where most places you park are monitored and spots are well documented with numbers assigned. (In the western world a lawyer can still win such a case even if the parking spots are well documented, by faulting the system and digging proofs that there was a glitch)

Also, there are hardly sufficient street CCTV to prove that unlike in developed countries.

Finally, resorting to Forensics Analysis would have been the best, but how many Forensics Expert do we have in Naija? Not even in a place like Computer Village. Before they mark off/preserve the crime scene, peeps go don step on boundaries, dey vex. grin One of the methods of Forensics Analysis that would have worked in this case is "Skid Mark".

That said, just listed few points.out of many that can counter-attack their point of Him zooming off.

Just with that, a good lawyer can still win the case.

Note: I'm not factoring other evidence or factors involved.

PS: My analysis aint based on whether he stole or not. I'm not supporting any party (Prime Suspect/Victim) here.

Just laughing at comments here, some of the questions here wont even hold water. grin grin
