Simple sugars, such as glucose and fructose, are metabolised in your liver and the excess fat gets stored as lipids. Excess fat synthesis deactivates your shbg (sex hormone binding globulin) gene, causing your levels of shbg protein to drop dramatically, and it is this shbg protein that controls your testosterone and oestrogen levels.

3. Plastic bottles Throw away that spare water bottle you keep at work. It’s not the water, but the plastic which is the problem. Most plastic food containers and water bottles contain bisphenol a (bpa), a chemical component that is reported to have a negative impact on fertility in both men and women.

4. Coffee Coffee as we all know wires up the body system and make you feels alert. But if you’re someone who feels edgy or apprehensive after drinking coffee, the caffeine could have a direct impact on the time in bed with your partner. Increased anxiety can often lower your sex drive.

5. Spicy foods Heavily scented or spiced foods have the potential to change the way your vagina smells and tastes. This list of food and beverages also has on it coffee, onions, garlic and strong spices. Try and include more whole grains, fresh fruits and veggies in your diet.

6. Chocolate Dark chocolate has often been perceived as a stimulant and is said to induce feelings of love and affection. Only four days after scores of people tragically lost their lives in a ghastly explosion at a gas plant, the industrial town of Nnewi, again, bore witness to another tragedy when a policeman went berserk on December 27 and shot dead three people at a traditional marriage ceremony at Uruagu-Nnewi in Anambra State.
A witness of the occurrence, who identified himself simply as Ifeanyi, said the bride was dancing with the groom, the just-wedded couple being lavishly sprayed with crispy naira and dollar notes by merry family and friends when sound of gunshots were heard just outside the compound around 6:30pm.
Ifeanyi claimed that a guest ran inside and informed the celebrants on what transpired outside leading to the ceremony’s abrupt stop.
It unfolded that an alleged drunk policeman had shot down three persons said to be prominent Nollywood actors, who had come to celebrate the marital union. The inebriated policeman was disarmed by fellow security agents at the scene.
When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Okechukwu Ali (DSP), has confirmed the incident.
In a related incident, a middle aged man identified as Onana Osua, who reportedly killed six persons over alleged food poisoning, was shot dead by a police patrol team at Ubiaja, headquarters of Esan South East Local Governmet Area of Edo State.
Osua, who was said to be a chairman of a motor park in Uromi, in the same council, was said to have left the hospital where he was admitted after he was reportedly poisoned and given five days to live.
Eyewitnesses said the man went home in a fit of rage, took his gun and went searching for the people he suspected in connection to the food poisoning. He visited the homes of these ‘suspects’ and killed them. Among his victims was said to be the wife of one of his targets.
After this killing spree, Osua fled to Ubiaja where, according to reports, he shot at a patrol team before he himself was felled by shots from police guns.
DSP Abiodun Osifo, the Edo state Police spokesperson established the authenticity of the incident.
He however said he was only aware of two persons who were shot. According to him, one died and the other victim was responding to treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

Former governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao-Akala, recently revealed why he decamped from to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He denounced his former party, the PDP, as a dying party.
Months ago, Alao-Akala left the PDP after he was denied the party gubernatorial ticket for the 2015 April election.
In an interview with Nigerian Tribune, Alao-Akala claimed that the PDP was at the brink of natural death.
“I already said goodbye to the PDP; I would not have gone back to the PDP. What would I have gone back to do in PDP? Those people that had dissenting voices were not the people who followed me to Labour Party, so they must be the ones expecting that maybe I would come back to PDP.
“But the decision to leave PDP back then was unanimously taken by my followers, so if some people are expecting me to return to PDP, they are not many; they are very small in percentage and I will say they are insignificant. Nobody would have expected me to come back to PDP; the party will soon die a natural death, so there is no way I can go back to a party that is in comatose.
At present, PDP is in comatose, why do I have to go and join issues or be part of the people that will bury PDP? I can’t go back to PDP. I have said goodbye to them and I wish them good luck. I hope they can get a good doctor to revive the party,” he said.
He also said that he would never return to the PDP even if the party is reconstructed.
“I cannot and I won’t return to PDP. The only way I can go back to PDP is if the thing that made me to be going to the APC, if that thing is no more there, maybe I can go back. But to be truthful with you, I am done with PDP and that’s just the truth of the matter.”
Alao-Akala also disclosed that the grass is greener in APC and most of this friends and associates have also joined the party.

A crowd cheered as a young woman screamed in agony as she was repeatedly canedin punishment for being in 'close proximity' to a man she wasn't married to.
Nur Elita, 20, had to be removed from Baiturrahumim Mosque in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, in an ambulance after she was brutally punished for allegedly showing affection towards another university student.
Under Sharia law, men and women who are unmarried and unrelated are not allowed to get too close.

After being brought to the stage as the crowd cheered, the woman was forced to kneel down while a masked man repeatedly whipped her with the cane.
She received five lashes and at the end of the punishment could be seen lying on the floor doubled over in pain.
Also being caned was Wahyudi Saputra, 23, the man she was accused of getting too close to.
He was forced to stand while being whipped.
Four other men were also forced to endure the punishment for gambling, which is also outlawed under Sharia law.
According to the Jakarta Post , the caning ceremony was carried out in front of the deputy mayor of Banda Aceh Zainal Arifin.

Banda Aceh is the only province in Indonesia to implement Sharia Law, which was first introduced in 2003 following the province’s awarding of special autonomy status.

Questions have been raised on how the federal government intends to fund the 2016 budget which is less reliant on oil than the previous budgets and also, with oil prices forecast to be going as low as $20 per barrel, significantly below the $38 benchmark price in the proposed budget. The federal government has now shed light on how it plans to fund the budget.
“As a government, we inherited N1.5 trillion domestic debt and when foreign debt is added, we have about N2.2 trillion. Everybody knows Nigeria is not a poor country, we are rich, and we have human resources. The problem was that the leadership did not take seriously, curbing corrupt tendencies,” President Muhammadu Buhari said in an interview with Mansur Liman of the BBC Hausa service on Christmas eve.
“Apart from highlighting our debt profile, we have also shown the changes we have made in the Customs Service. For instance, how much we are making from the Customs Service, how much from petroleum, that is NNPC; how much we are making from the ports.
“There have been lots of leakages in these sectors. If we block these leakages, we would make much more money to run the country despite the fall in the price of oil,” he said.
“It is generally believed that a fish begins to rot from the head; once the head is rotten, the whole body is also rotten. We have tried to remove all the heads of the organisations, and most of the lieutenants have been changed.
“A lot is happening in this government that people do not appear to understand; many permanent secretaries of ministries have been changed; we used to have 42 ministers, now we have 36 because the constitution requires that each state of the federation must have a minister. Also, we used to have 42 ministries, now we have 24.”
He explained that his budget was premised on the need to restore peace, build infrastructure and create jobs.
“Remember during the campaigns, we said Nigeria is facing three things and nobody disputed that assertion. Firstly, there was widespread insecurity – a war in the north-east, while the country’s oil was being stolen at random in the south; secondly, there is massive unemployment, 62 per cent of the nation’s population are youths from the age of 35 years downward and most of them are unemployed, including those who went to school and those who did not, that is a serious problem.
“Therefore, it is necessary to restore peace and create employment. That is why we are returning to agriculture and mineral resources.
“Thirdly, bribery and corruption was basically suffocating the country. If we don’t kill these monsters, this country would go down. That is why those who stole monies meant for arms procurement and shared it among themselves are being arrested and are being shown documents so that they would be asked to refund the money or face prosecution.
“We would use those documents to prove what they stole, collect all the assets acquired from the proceeds and then jail them.”
