How many times have you chucked away those little silica bags that we find in almost every newly bought item? How many times have you not actually even realised they were in your new package? Perhaps they’re still lurking there now as we speak. You may have thought the bags were useless once the product was out of transit, and the big DO NOT EAT on them might have freaked you out enough to bin them instantly. But while you must of course never eat the gel, and the bags MUST be kept away from babies and animals (mainly because they are a choking hazard), the contents of the bags are not actually toxic. The silica gel bags are filled with a substance called silicon dioxide, a non-toxic inert desiccant that has the power to dry out moisture. So, it turns out we should be paying more attention to these tiny little bags. Because, apparently, there’s a tonne of uses for them that you might never even have known about. Here are the best ways you can use silica bags around the house: You can save your drowned phone It turns out rice isn’t the only way to save a phone you may have accidentally dropped down the toilet. Filling up a bowl with silica bags is apparently ’10 times more effective than rice’. Save precious memories Putting silica bags in a box of old photos will save them from any dampness – which can really ruin a lovely photo you wished to save forever to look back on over the years. Protect your make-up Putting a bag or two in your makeup bag will stop your powder-based makeup from going claggy and difficult to apply. Put them in your gym bag to eliminate odour The silica will absorb the excess moisture in your gym shoes after a workout – which is particularly handy since many of us go to the gym then leave our kit in the bag for the rest of the day. Or week. Bacteria thrives well in a moist environment, so by eliminating dampness the silica bags will help keep your gym-bag germ- and whiff-free. A win/win for all. Keep your bath towels from smelling Putting a few of these bags in between your bath towels can help prevent dampness and the smell that comes with it – leaving your bathroom smelling of nothing but air freshener and good times. Keep your car windscreen clear Pop a few on the dashboard to prevent moisture build-up that causes condensation on the inside of the windscreen. In winter, it will also help prevent freezing on the inside. May take a few days to become fully effective, so be patient. Keep jewellery clean and shiny Moisture leads to tarnishing and discolouration of silver. A couple of bags in your jewellery box will slow down the process. http://www.fusiongists.com/2015/12/after-reading-this-youll-never-want-to.html |

Dr Dre drops from the number one slot as American singer, Kate perry becomes highest paid musician in Forbes 2015. He dropped from the number one slot in 2014 to an embarrassing 28 this year. According to Forbes, the highest paid musicians of 2015 is Katy Perry, who earned $135 million, largely from touring. Other names in the top 10 include One Direction, Garth Brooks, The Eagles, Calvin Harris, Diddy and Taylor Swift. Katy Perry, who was ranked 23 in 2014, was almost certain to sit on the throne in 2015, after her highly successful 17 month ‘Prismatic World Tour’. Despite Dr Dre’s release of a record that was a decade in the making, and a commercially successful blockbuster, it appears that art money isn’t worth as much as headphone money. Dre sold his Beats brand to Apple for $3 billion last year and he pocketed over $600 million from the deal. Jay Z and Beyonce collectively grossed over $100 million from their “On the Run” tour. Despite his purchase of TIDAL, Jay Z’s diverse business endeavors earned him $56 million this year. A Japanese man named Mansun has invented a new contraption that’s supposed to be an improvement on selfie sticks. It’s called the ‘selfie arm’, and as the name suggests, it’s a super-long stick fitted with a fake hand. Mansun said that he felt compelled to invent the device because he was too embarrassed to use selfie sticks in public. But he might just have made things worse for himself, because selfie arms are way more ridiculous – they’re just selfie sticks concealed inside an altered shirt with extremely long sleeves and fake hands attached at the ends. Thankfully, he isn’t planning to mass produce the device, but he’s provided detailed pictures for anyone who might be interested in making their own set of arms. The photographs he posted online are bizarre, but Mansun seems happy to be walking around with two ginormous, creepy-looking fake arms hanging at his sides, instead of carrying a selfie stick. Well, whatever floats his boat! http://www.fusiongists.com/2015/11/the-new-improved-selfie-stick.html |
You might be accustomed to spitting them out as you eat — seed spitting contest, anyone? Some people just opt for seedless. But the nutritional value of watermelon seeds may convince you otherwise. Watermelon seeds are low in calories and are nutrient dense. When roasted, they’re crispy and can easily take the place of other unhealthy snack options. Nutritional Benefits How much nutrition you reap from watermelon seeds depends largely on how many you eat. Because they’re small, you need to eat quite a few to get their considerable benefits. However, when you compare their nutritional value to that of other snacks out there, watermelon seeds come out far ahead. 1. Low Calorie One ounce of watermelon seeds contains approximately 158 calories. That’s not much lower than an ounce of Lay’s Potato Chips (160 calories), but let’s take a look at what constitutes an ounce. There are approximately 400 watermelon seeds in a single ounce, far too many to eat in one sitting. By contrast, there are only 15 potato chips in an ounce, far less than most people would normally munch in one sitting. A large handful of watermelon seeds weighs about 4 grams, which contains about 56 seedsand just 22 calories. Far less than a bag of potato chips! 2. Magnesium One of several minerals found in watermelon seeds is magnesium. In a 4 gram serving, you’ll get 21 mg of magnesium. The FDA recommends adults get 400 mg of this mineral daily. Magnesium is essential for many of the body’s metabolic functions. It’s also required to maintain nerve and muscle function, as well as immune, heart, and bone health. 3. Iron A handful of watermelon seeds contains about 0.29 mg of iron. It might not seem like much, but the FDA only recommends adults get 18 mg in their day. Iron is an important component of hemoglobin — carrying oxygen through the body. It also helps your body convert calories into energy. 4. Folate There are 2 μ of folate in a single serving of watermelon seeds. The FDA recommends adults get 400 μ each day. Folate, also known as folic acid or vitamin B-9, is important for proper brain function and also works to control homocysteine levels. Women of childbearing years need even more, since folate deficiency has been associated with certain neural tubal birth defects. 5. ‘Good’ Fats Watermelon seeds also provide a good source of both monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids — 0.3 and 1.1 grams, respectively. According to the American Heart Association, these fats are useful in protecting against heart attack and stroke, and lowering levels of “bad” cholesterol in the blood. The Takeaway Watermelon seeds have many health benefits. Although the amounts of some minerals and vitamins within them may seem low, they are still far preferable to potato chips and other unhealthy snacks. http://www.fusiongists.com/2015/11/the-5-best-watermelon-seed-benefits.html |
You are pretty sure that you brush your teeth, floss and wash your mouth with a liquid but the bad smell remains… The situation is the same with your amrita and feet you’ve just come out of the bathroom, but the smell remains. The unpleasant smell has nothing to do with your hygiene but with your health. Bad smell of v**ina – “Like bread” It reminds you of freshly baked bread, but little unpleasant and do not comes out of the oven, but down there. This fragrance is derived from vaginal secretions that lost his balance, often as a result of an outbreak of fungal infections such as candida. If this is the case, it is best to look at the clothes and avoid synthetic materials. Bad smell of v**ina – “Scent of fruit’ You have the impression that comes scent of fruit from your bathroom. It is your urine that has more sugar; if this is your problem, it is best to consult a specialist, because the smell is emerging as a result of excess sugar in the urine, a sign of diabetes. Bad smell of v**ina – “Fresh Fish” According Natasha Johnson, this odor is due to the increasing number of bacteria in the v**ina. Mostly noticeable is when you have s*x or menstruation, and is accompanied by itching and redness. The most effectively way to treat is with oral antibiotics. Unpleasant breath If I could not get rid of this smell, you probably have sinusitis. It is a bacterium that causes inflammation of the sinuses and nasal cavities which are connected with the mouth and unpleasant odor appears. In most cases the smell disappears by itself, but if this is your problem, probably for the best is start treating your sinuses with warm water; you will need to inhale every night to get rid of mucus. Feet The odor of feet is caused by bacteria and fungi that can heal only with adequate preparations. Be mindful of your personal health and hygiene http://www.fusiongists.com/2015/11/unpleasant-odor-from-vina-feet-and.html |

This came to light in WHO's anticipated report on the link between red meat and cancer. According to the report, which did not categorically mention Suya or Kilishi, stated that 50g of processed meat a day increases the chance of developing colorectal cancer by 18%. A BBC report on Monday, October 26, defined processed meat as meat that “has been modified to increase its shelf-life or alter its taste – such as by smoking, curing or adding salt or preservatives”. However, Suya is processed red meat, and when prepared, it is seasoned with salt, pepper and groundnut powder. Kilishi, on the other hand, is a drier version of suya. The WHO report also said high temperature cooking on a barbeque can create carcinogenic – cancerous chemicals. “For an individual, the risk of developing colorectal (bowel) cancer because of their consumption of processed meat remains small, but this risk increases with the amount of meat consumed,” Kurt Straif from the WHO said. According to estimation, 34,000 deaths from cancer every year could be down to diets high in processed meat. A professor from the Cancer Research UK and the University of Oxford, Tim Key, said; “This decision doesn’t mean you need to stop eating any red and processed meat, but if you eat lots of it you may want to think about cutting down.” The Meat Advisory Panel added: “Eating a bacon bap every once in a while isn’t going to do much harm – having a healthy diet is all about moderation. Avoiding red meat in the diet is not a protective strategy against cancer. The focus should be alcohol, smoking and body weight.” http://fusiongists..com.ng/2015/10/who-says-suya-kilishi-can-increase.html |

So as to avoid buying cars you might regret, we have gathered 5 things to do when buying a used car; 1. Ensure you take the car on a test drive on both a local road and a highway so as to feel the performance of the car in both scenarios. 2. Make sure to check the interior upholstery carefully, along with any repairs to the exterior of the car. 3. Do a viable inspection for any leaking substances, any car that is leaking fluids is a red flag for a needed repair. 4. Have a mechanic to inspect and test the car again. 5. The Management of Dangote Petrochemicals and Fertiliser Plant on Thursday assured Nigerians that its 650,000 barrels Per Day (BPD) capacity petroleum refinery would come on stream by 2018. Mr Madhav Kelkar, Senior General Manager, Civil and Structural, Dangote Petrochemicals Ltd, a subsidiary of Dangote Group, made the announcement when he took newsmen on a facility tour of the plant located at Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos. He said that when the refinery comes on stream; it would boost the country’s refining capacity and enhance industrialisation. He said that construction work on the projects was expected to be completed by 2017 while refining operation would commence by 2018, adding that the projects would create job opportunities for Nigerians. Kelkar said: "the 650,000 barrels per day capacity refinery will meet the 2018 deadline. "As you can see, piling and land reclamation are going on. Sand filling is the most critical part of the project. "A Belgium-based dredging company called Jande Nul is in charge of dredging and soil investigation. "Assembly and coupling of equipment will take only a couple of months. I think we are making progress and I'm happy with what we have done so far. "At the end of the day, every Nigerian will be very proud that we have the longest single train refinery in the world. That's the vision of Dangote.’’ Kelkar said that if the project is completed, Nigeria would be self sufficient in refining of crude oil. He said that more than 2,000 Nigerians would be employed when the refinery commence operations. He said that the petrochemical plant would produce 750,000 metric tonnes of polypropylene per annum while the fertiliser plant would produce 2.8 metric tonnes of Urea and Ammonia. Dear Friends, please be informed that unarmed robbers and conmen have eventually found their ways inside our once safe banking halls. On behalf of the banks that operate in Nigeria, we would like to advice you that on no condition should you give your cash and teller to anybody within the banking hall except the attending tellers and cashiers visibly seen over the counter. No matter how crowded the banking hall may be, kindly exercise patience, do not be too hasty to jump queues and NEVER give your cash or teller to anyone posing as a bank staff. Only tellers and cashiers visibly seated over the counter are permitted to collect cash from banking customers. Criminals now parade themselves in the banking halls, portraying themselves as staff of the bank and robbing customers off their money. We have an extract of an incident that happened in a bank in Lagos, Nigeria involving a new generation bank and her customers. Kindly read through and please let us all be careful. “My Experience with an Unarmed Robber in a Banking Hall” I have this neighbor who sells foodstuffs. She travelled for the New Year so she instructed her relation who sells for her to pay in the money (about 130,000 Naira) she made since Monday into her Diamond bank account... I was in the banking hall- Diamond Bank warehouse branch, Apapa when she walked in with the money in her bag. When filling her teller, someone asked her if she was paying in and she said yes. She later joined the long queue. After thirty seconds, a young man dressed in corporate suit (pretending to be a cashier) came close to her and asked for people who are paying above 100,000 Naira. About five people stepped out and followed him a few meters away. He collected their money and teller and asked them to wait on the line so he can go in and stamp their teller..... Like play like play, the man left. They were waiting not knowing that he had left the banking hall with their over 650,000 Naira. It was later that they reported, the bank manager even came down.......he checked the cctv footage and behold, the gentle man in suit was neither a cashier nor a worker in the bank. Just like that, he stole over 650,000 Naira. The security guard said it was the third time it was happening in that branch... Please be kind enough to share this story so as to prevent others from falling victims. In 1973. Gen. Yakubu Gowon (pictured) was the then Nigerian Military President. He is seen shaking hands with baby Justin Trudeau – the son of the then Prime Minister of Canada, Pierre Elliot Trudeau. Now, in 2015, Justin Trudeau is the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, and he is the new Prime Minister. That is progressive! That is Change!! But in Nigeria, we are still having recycled leaders attempting to rule and dictate to us. When will they let young, vibrant and intelligent men…the youth of today…contest in a free and fair election? More news @ http://fusiongists..com.ng/2015/10/when-young-shall-not-grow-in-nigeria.html |
