My first question is, should my wife apply to schools using her full name or she should use my surname instead. She has no document with my surname on it, will it just be better she use her full name, even though married to me. Why I'm curious is, won't the school be thinking since we are married she should be using my surname? I hope you understand.
Since you guys are newly married, they don't expect your name to be in her documents, school certificates etc.
The only legal ties between both of you is your marriage certificate which will also be presented to prove she is married.
So she will be applying using your surname, as long as there's a marriage certificate to back it up.

I saw your response, there was nothing wrong or rude about what you said, sometimes the way people read meaning to words doesn't exactly sound that way when you are standing face to face with the person. I actually laughed when I read your response @ "just remove English teacher"
bepositive11:
No, I don't get it... which words? "Just remove"? If it was that, as I said, I wouldn't have spoken like that if the person was asking for himself.

If it was the latter sentence about "Nigerian accent", I would say that's the bitter truth. Only for "English teaching" though

If you’re going in for Bsc, you won’t be able to go with any dependants.
Wow, going with them is the ultimate goal. So I have to look into something else.
Thanks for your response.

Good morning everyone,
I have been reading a lot here, I know it is advisable to go for a course that is related to one's present occupation.

But I want a career change, I want to go for a nursing program as a new degree, because I have a Bsc in Economics. I have 15 years study Gap. I didn't work for long after I graduated. I am currently self employed. I have a successful fashion online business that is registered.

So you can see Nursing is not related to any of my previous jobs.
I also read somewhere that I can't take my kids unless it's a post graduate program and above.
How true is this.

N.b ... I am a widow with 3 kids so I need a solid career that is in high demand, that's why I am going for nursing.

Advice please. Thanks

God bless you for this response. Thanks. You have actually gingered me

Bobomaigida:
Dear Victoriousbabe, when you start out it can be confusing, but with time you will know most aspects,

1. First thing is to secure admission, to do this you do not need to evaluate your transcripts (only express entry requires this). Your study gap it will be advisable to look for a course that is related to your present occupation.
2. Business mgt courses will be ideal, once you have seen a course you like and the cost is affordable then check the required documents needed for application and apply to the school( most schools are open for Sept 2023 admission now).
3. Whilst you are doing this ensure you have your funds saved up, you are expected to show POF in your account for four to six months (you can get a sponsor (someone close to you like parent, husband, sibling) but you must explain how and why the person is sponsoring you.
4. You need to write statement of purpose that will provide the details of your application to the visa officer. You can start wring this one now so you can have a good write up before submitting.

I believe this will help you, if you still have other questions pls share so the house can respond.

Hello house
What are the documents I really need to apply to schools, I am a bit confused with the transcript part, I read somewhere earlier that one can get the student copy from the school but now my sister said I need to get it evaluated , I don't even understand, she is trying to apply too, both of us are novice.
I have a 14 years gap , I run my own online business, I am into jewelry. What is the best post graduate program to apply for , I studied Economics in school.

You can travel alone or with your kids but going with the kids will require proving very strong home ties ( family ,business, assets etc) but that will be much later after you have processed your school admission which takes an average of 1 to 6 months depending on the school.

I will advise a course either related to Economics or Business and masters level or post graduate certificate depending on your GPA .

The first thing you need is an unofficial copy of your transcript to apply for any admission so go about that first.

You will also need to decide on the course and province you want to go to while preparing your funds to show financial capability. It is best not to use a company account as proof of funds and remember to explain that funds wil be generated by the company while you are away so someone has to be managing it.

You can also get a sponsor for your studies just remember to establish a strong relationship to justify a 3rd party investing that kind of money on you .

Age does not mean as you can study at any age just explain your study gap and your CV can do justice to that.
Wow thanks for the insight, I was thinking my company's account will do for the bank statement. Okay. I ll start working on getting my transcript.
