This is my favourite thread this season! I don't even like going to the Arsenal thread self.
This is the fun place to be.
By way I like kicking a man when he is down, it helps to keep him down!

MRbrownJAY: JOHN CARTER
what a pile of crap..... you can clearly see that the whole concept of this movie is just a cheap bootleg copy of AVATAR!
i heard Disney lost $200milla on this movie, it was clearly predictable!
3/10
I have not seen the film yet and it might be crap but please do not call it a copy of Avatar.
The story was written years and years before Avatar, so if anything Avatar storyline is a copy of John Carter of Mars.
The book is from the same time as Tarzan for godsake.
TV/MoviesRe: Fifteen-geek-movies-to-see-before-you-die! by Vieira(m): 10:37pm On Mar 27, 2012
I have not seen Brazil but agree with most of your list except Python and Darkman.
Python is zany comedy and brilliant but I do not see the geek connection.
Darkman was meh at best for me, I would swap this with Superman 2

But how could you leave out these ones?

Alien & Aliens
Superman 2
Old School Godzilla
Old School Star Wars
Tron
Terminator 1 & 2
The greatness that is Blade Runner
Total Recall
Predator
TV/MoviesRe: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by Vieira(m): 9:45pm On Mar 27, 2012
Return of Jenifa
This film should really have been a sketch show, it is a series of contrived situations that show off Funke Akindele's comedic talent but do not really lend to a coherent story.
Some of the parallel storylines seemed pointless and took big leaps, I mean was it me or how did that girl suddenly become a gun carrying cultist?? Simply becos her Dad was an ass?
What happened to the girl that licked?
Another annoying thing was the blatant adverts by Glo and also Close Up, it was cringeworthy.
Having said that I was invested in the Jenifa character enough to watch it right to the end.
I am glad that the story had her turn her life around.
I give this a 5/10 and 4 of those points are due to Funke Akindele especially when she started dancing with Eldee!

Horrible Bosses:

6/10, pleasant enough 90 minutes diversion. Funny in parts. Decent enough for watching when it comes on TV.

Johnny English:

5/10, No surprises here, an average at best parody of the James Bond.

Mr Bean as a Bond. Best for under thirteens.
No one is ever sure of anything in this league. Now that we are ahead of tottenham its easy to say you knew tottenham will never finish ahead of us. Would you also say u knew we'll be about 8 points ahead of chelshit with 8 games to go? Or would you say u knew RvP will go the whole season without a knock? We all know what that would have done to our season. I wouldn't say wenger has changed simply cos we put together 7 straight wins. I will only come to that conclusion if he stops looking for the cheap dross in the transfer market.

This Kos' injury gives me grave concern, I don't think Djorou can give consistently what my KOSCIELNY has
The funny thing is that at the same time I was offered the Tottenham bet, I was also offered a similar one for Chelsea but I was not confident in the Chelsea one and did not take it especially as I have lost the Chelsea bet a few times in the past years.

Edoyad, I am sorry but what kind of proof should I be running up and down to provide you? You either believe me or not, simples.
Hopefully at the end of the season I will be able to collect my £50.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Vieira(m): 7:55pm On Mar 23, 2012
You this ninny, you take us to the same page where you said you'll take Park/Chamark over Saha when the 33 yr old has already banged in more goals than both players combined.

There was good reason to think Tottenham will finish ahead of us and it could only take an amazing/unusual run of wins to turn that around. Every normal person would expect them to finish with 13 points ahead in February considering how close they have come to Arsenal on the league table at the end of recent seasons
I actually disagree with that statement, I had a bet we would finish above Tottenham from early in the season and even when the gap was 12 points at one stage, I still thought Arsenal would do it. A study of past seasons have shown a distinct lack of bottle in the spuds team when it comes to finishing above us, this was dramatically displayed during lasagne gate.
They have done well this season and we started poorly but as soon as we started showing some type of form it was squeaky bottom time for Spurs.
Based on our next games I will say that Arsenalhave the easier run in and we are more practised at the fight for being in the top 4.
The only reason there is any doubt about us finishing above the spuds is because of our bad form and nothing to do with how good the spuds are, if they are not careful I predict that Chelsea will catch them as well.

Drive

How can anyone say this is a boring film? Awesome movie which constantly in one sec from a quiet moment to ultra violence.
Ryan Goslings deadpan delivery also made you wonder at what was going on in his head at all times.

I thought this film would be about him taking part in the stock car racing, how wrong! Nice curveball by the director to wrong foot us.
Also I like the fact the film did not follow the usual jealous boyfriend story but went with a more unique route.
Great movie.
8/10
