I think Dave's programming was to find a way to save his 'father'. But yes, his actions with infecting the scientist didn't even make sense when the follow-up had nothing to do with him.
I didn't understand Elizabeth's character. She seemed too weak, not capable of the emergency surgery she did on herself. Her character had no focus. No skeleton to say. Even the flash backs didn't hint at what she's made up of. [/color]

Beyond Asgard? They are both from otherworldly realms where they are deemed gods. Telekinesis does not help. Plus Darksied can't even beat Superman self and ordinary Batman disgraced him recently.

Also stopping a blow from the hammer is different from carrying it, quite a few people have stopped a blow from mjolnier with thier hands including Hulk self.

1. Why did the jockeys leave the diagrams behind?
2. Who drew those diagrams? Jockeys or humans?
3. If Jockeys, why?
4. And why so crap drawings?
5. If we were just a guinea pig farm it makes no sense.
6. Also why point to what is basically an arms depot
7. If humans then when did that happen?
8. Did the Jockeys come back to after seeding the planet? How many times did they come? Because the diagrams where spread through time
9. Even if they did what was the point of telling them (humans) about the star system?
10. And if chatty back then why not now?
11. They had to kill themselves to seed earth? Seems moronic, dramatic but moronic

13. Why did he then seem totally unconcerned with Shaw’s baby? After she aborted it?

Superman cannot wield it simple.

He was once given permission which allowed him to carry it.

The only people who have carried it without permission are Captain America and Beta Ray Bill as iice said.

It is not a strength thing at all but all about being worthy.

That clip is not the regular Thor and that is not the normal Mjolnier. That is Thor from the ultimate universe and that is a slighty different hammer.

The movie got that right by not allowing Hulk to pick it up.

I have seen it and it is not bad.
It could have been even better but not a bad film, halfway through I forgot it was 3D, it had the type of 3D that is not overwhelming and in your face but added to the spectacle, lots of vista shots, should look great in IMAX.
It does not have the unknown horror of the first Alien and does not have the bad assery of Cameron's Aliens.
The plot has many holes in it and on reflection I keep finding more holes. The creature designs were great and I loved seeing the Space Jockey fully realised.
Another problem is that for me there is no real hero or heroine despite a scene with a self performed abortion that could have led to all sorts of bad assery but sadly did not.

In closing I give this a manageable [size=14pt]6/10[/size]

Not a classic but a adequate addition to the Alien universe.

Epi: USA is showing the six faces of Bond right now.  I didn't even know there was a bond before Sean Connery [/b]and Roger Moore.  His name is George Lazenby and was a James Bond in 1969 (it's on now) - [b]On her majesty's secret service.  Man, this bond loves to slap women.  The movie started at 9am and it's 9:29am, so far he slapped a girl 4 times.  I'll let you know if he slap again

I love Daniel Craig and his new type of agbero Bond,you can see he is not polished but will gradually get more like Sean Connery.

Red Riding Hood

Not a bad movie, nice mixture of fairytale, whodunnit and sword &sorcery.
Fun tale that kept us guessing till the end.

This has been happening for like the last two years now.

2 Hulk movies, 2 Iron man movies, A Thor movie and a Captain America movie have all gradually led to one thing:

When Marvel started their own studio and started making the movies of their own characters themselves they must have had this as the grand plan.
The problem with bringing the concept of the Avengers to the big screen was that it could oh so easily go wrong.
I wanted this movie but I was also scared as to what I would get.

Would it be a pile of poo?
Will some characters be ignored?
Will it badly directed?
Will it be boring?
Will it be cheesy?

When they announced the Director I was pleased, he has only done one previous movie but I loved that movie and his work on the TV series Buffy was awesome and always had the feeling of being about comic book heroes. I thought it was an inspired if risky/ballsy choice.

The choice was right.

This film rocks.

I will not spoil it too much for those who haven’t watched yet as it is early days.

What was good about it?
Everyone had good screen time and it did not even seem as if anyone was being shoehorned into the scene.
The dynamic between the “heroes” is just spot on, you believe in how they react to each other, this is no Superfriends. Joss really also knows how to weave humour into what is a really action packed movie.

The heroes themselves are all very well acted and I did not really miss Ed Norton as Bruce Banner.

Who had the best bits in the movie? I have to say it is the Hulk but Iron Man shines a lot and Thor showed what it meant to be an Asgardian Prince.

The villain of the film was Loki from the Thor movie and he was equally great in this film.
The story was well written and how the team came together was well told.

Any quibbles with the film?
Yes one or two, how Hulk seemed to change his mind and started to play nice, How Coulson was treated.
But they are minor.

The action was well shot and there are some awesome battle scenes, the 3D was actually one of the better ones especially for a film that was NOT shot in 3D but converted afterwards.

If you are a fan of the comics then please wait till after the credits for a nice little surprise.

What next?
Well Marvel you should get back the rights for X-Men, Spider-man and Fantastic Four and start to build a true Marvel Movie Universe where they can crossover just like the books.

In closing where does this rank in my top superhero movies? I don’t want to make a rash judgement now while I am still buzzing from the movie.
I will rewatch it this weekend and then make the call but trust me it is definitely now in my top 5 but where? Top spot? Wait and see.

My score for this movie?
