Greatgod2012, I actually meant nursery school that is before primary 1. I think you misunderstood it. I was suprised when you said you've seen 15. You might want to edit your initial post to clear that up. I'll try to make it clear in my original post so that people don't get confused again |
Hey guys, please keep it civil. Let's just have a normal discussion without heating up the thread. Work with what was said and don't imply what might not be the posters intent. Everyone is entitled to his opinion. |
It is very rare to see a male teaching preschool or nursery kids. I used to think there were no male nursery teachers because I haven't seen one but it appears there are male teachers who handle kids in nursery classes . I love 'em kids but I can't handle them in that capacity. To the guys, would you take up a job as a nursery teacher? And parents, what's your view on having a male nursery class teacher? Share your opinion. |
It is much easier to criticize than to compliment. Sometimes criticisms are necessary but most times people just do it for the fun of it. Why is it so? Is it human nature? |
As expected. The frontpage is going to be flooded with anything CAN for the next couple of days. |

Djtm: What do you mean by black gospel style of playing.Well, it may not be an official name but what I mean is the sounds you hear when black gospel musicians sing their songs. Most foreign black gospel singers use that style. People like fred hammond, cece winans etc. You know they play alot of 'altered' chords and not just the straight 3-finger major chords. |
Djtm: Cool. I started with those mini "toy" keyboards. I started by labelling the keys, at a point I discovered that playing the next two major notes produced a "rhyme" that was the beginning of my discoveries. I now download YouTube video tutorials to improve my skills.nice. I prefer 'black gospel' style of playing. I grew up hearing that so when I set out to learn, I knew I was going for that |
Djtm: I do too. I'm also self taught and I think I fall into your category. I've been playing since jss2.I also started around that age. From touching the piano after service to actually getting to play it and then moving on to improve as I got challenged by those who were better than me. |
2sExy1: I have always loved the piano(or keyboard). It's the only musical instrument I would love to learn but never got the chance... To do it. Where are you based?good to know you would love to play the keyboard. Truth is, you're never gonna have time to learn it unless you create the time. What you need is serious commitment and consistency especially as a beginner so that you can master the basics. For someone like me, if i don't play the piano for three months and i touch it again, you would not know that I've not played in a long time. Why? Because i've already mastered a lot of things. But for a beginner, you can't give long breaks between practices because it will take you a long time to master some things and you may even forget some due to the long break. |
ok. It's been a while since I last posted here. It seems this page is for musicians. Well I play the piano. Learnt 95% of what I play by myself (by observing the pros). I'm also on my way to becoming a pro that is, i'm above average though some people consider me a pro already but I know that I'm not where I want to be yet (I don't like to speak very highly of my skills so that my ego will not get bruised when I meet a better person and I'm more open to improvement that way). I'm very much comfortable playing in my church. I think i'm gonna continue playing piano for life. I love it. Any one who plays piano here? |

The world is moving at a fast pace. Things become 'old school' within a space of just 5-10 years unlike in the past when something can be in vogue for like 30-50 years. Just checkout the evolution of mobile phone technology. Barely 15 years ago, cell phones were not so popular ( especially in Nigeria) but fast-forward to 2014 and we have moved from Nokia 3310 through Nokia torch, Symbian, Windows phone, blackberry and now Android. All in the space of less than fifteen years! Also look the pace at which the internet is taking over our day to day activities. Fashion trends are not left out. There is an explosion of information. It will take you years to read the amount of information that is being generated on daily basis. Work is fast paced and people are under more stress due to pressure from their job. Everything is just fast paced. While it is intriguing to watch things unfold at such a pace, one cannot help but wonder whether a crash is not imminent in the future. Can the world really hold out at this pace? A very fast moving car is bound to suffer a crash if care is not taken. What do you think about this? Are we headed for a crash? |
^ok that's your own observation. |
mecussey: Are you indirectly saying that Mynd is also suffering from depression? That is not what I meant. Please modify your post in order not to derail this thread. Thank you. |
A very important topic on a reality that we choose to ignore. A lot of people suffer depression among us but you wouldn't know. |
I recently came across a research that stated that first born children are usually smarter and have higher IQ than their younger siblings. I decided to look around and see if there is any truth in this finding and I came to discover that it was true in many of the cases I considered. I discovered that the firstborn usually does well in school and sets a standard in terms of grades and intellectual prowess. There are exceptions though because I've seen some firstborns who have younger siblings that are better/smarter than them. What do yo think? What are your own observations? |

An elderly person once said: No one on their death bed will ever say " I wish I had worked more , or I had done this course or that or bring me my certificates so that I can see how many degrees I have or bring my bank statements I want to see how much I have in my accounts before I die" On your death bed you regret not spending more time with loved ones and not doing other things outside of work that you always wanted to do but because you were so consumed with working, life just passed you by. Life is a journey not a race . . . We shouldn ' t get caught up in the rat race . Saying no to some things does us good. Good one eleojo23 |
