Anyone starting school this May, and your school is Public-Private College/University, please have a rethink. Public-Private colleges will longer eligible for PGWP as from May and not September as earlier announced.

NicoleThelma: You can use flywire if your school support flywire or dollar card if you have domiciliary account or know anyone who can help. The straight way is to buy dollar equivalent to the application fee and deposit it into your dollar card, then use your card to pay. 1 Like |

NicoleThelma: Bro, you need to be ready if you want to start this journey. Applications are not free unless the school is doing some kind of application fee waiver to attract more applicants which are few this days and not this time when there's cap on student visa. If you want it, go for it. Check your course admission requirements and in as much you meet up to the requirements, you will surely get the admission. You can pay through dollar card from the school portal after all your document has been uploaded. 4 Likes |

Trydifferentjok: To my own knowledge, it's preferable to apply alone and your husband to apply for a visit visa. Apply first, use your husband as home ties. As a sponsor, he shouldn't be your sponsor and your dependant as the same time. 1 Like |

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Vikkyexman: 7:46pm On Feb 15 |
Anyone applying for study permit in this time of high exchange rate should ensure POF is properly calculated to avoid rejection for financial reason. Living expenses + Tuition fees (per year) + Travel Expenses = Funds in your Bank Account. That is, CAD20,635 + Tuition Fee + CAD2,000 x current exchange rate = Funds Needed. Ensure you don't submit below this calculation. If you have paid part of your tuition fees, that can be deducted from the total amount. Note: This is for the PA only without dependant(s) 3 Likes |

Eraytee: You can add any updated information about your application to your application. Nothing like over sabi😊. Send it through webformwebform, you just need to explain it in that text box on the site or attach a LOE about the information you are adding. |

sherryju: Please who is the principal applicant? You or your husband? The PA must submit his or her personal bank statement, other account statement can be used to support your application. You can submit your company's bank statement to proof how you accumulate your savings in personal account and also show previous receipts of the job/contracts or services completed to show the main source/s of where the money actually came from. Whether you've used your bank statement before has nothing to do with your new application as all applications are treated on its own merit. What you need are proofs to convince the officer. 1 Like |

TunnyOgunnowo: No one will ask you for POF of your second year. They can only ask you how you intend to pay for second year tuition fee. Ensure you have like USD5k in cash with you and show the balance in your phone or print your bank statement of 1 month with you. |

sherryju: There's no timeframe set for you to reapply. However, regarding this ongoing new rules, you might need attestation letter from the province you want to study before you can reapply unless you are a master or PhD student. Kindly note that gcms notes takes about 30 days for you to receive it, but I strongly believe that improper documentation of your POF or SOP is the issue. In my case, I was rejected also for financial reason and I reapply after one week by writing another SOP tailored to address the refusal reason by telling the officer how I met the financial requirement. I also submitted additional documents (more sources of funds) to back up the claim. Although I later ordered the gcms note, and the concern of the officer was he didn't satisfy regarding the source of funds, limited evidence pertaining to the source of funds and how I accumulated my savings. With that, I had 80% confidence that I was going to be approved for my second application because of the additional documents submitted because I knew I have money and not because of insufficient funds why I was rejected. Sometimes, since you don't know who will handle your application, it's recommended to write SOP of what a 5 year old boy will understand. Ensure you read and read over and over again. Ask for people's review and ask if they understand the SOP and if it's convincing enough. In addition, ensure you don't over compress your documents. Order your GCMS notes as well. |

sherryju: In that case, I think the issue is from SOP. I'm not sure if you explain in details. Below documents are what I think will work For your Salary Account 6 months Bank Statement Employment letter Payslip A reference letter from your employer (optional) For your Spouse Account If employed, same as above. If self employed, he need to show: CAC certificate Form Co2 (Board of Directors form) Previous receipts of contract/job completed Tax receipts 6 months or more Bank Statement of the business Picture of your work in progress (optional) Facebook/Instagram page of the business Property Valuation Comprehensive Report from registered survivor and valuer Pictures of the properties CofO or Survey Documents if it's landed property Any other additional documents about the property Ensure all documents are properly explained in your SOP by referencing them. You can as well order your GCMS notes to know exact reason behind your refusal. 3 Likes |

sherryju: Every bullets revolves around funds. What you need to do check is you POF. Was it sufficient? How was it documented? Was it easy to understand? Was it properly explained in your SOP? Did you submitted convincing additional documents regarding the source of funds? |
