When will any group/association in northern Nigeria agitate for something real.. its either kano hisbah is destroying beer bottles /p0rn, or boko is tryna bomb out a caliphate or The shiite folks protesting for Palestine in zaria.
When will they protest against hard drugs like codeine, roche, amphetamine et al that kids up north take?
When will they stop the culture of those almajiri kids begging for food at motor parks?
The Niger delta militants hustled for 13% derivation for their region, and a lil extra for their pockets.
The ones in the south east are trying to secede, for economic reasons best known to them.

Naturalle: @OP - From your write-up, I observed the following;
1. You have been shopping for used items from deal sites and expecting them to come as 'brand new' (perhaps olx.com). Please note that deal sites are not the same as regular stores. 2. You are unaware of the existence of a 'Return Policy' which you can use whenever you are dissatisfied with a purchase. 3. You are unaware of the 'Convenience factor' online shopping provides. Its the alternative to moving from one market stall to another, lifting the heavy load whilst still worrying about transportation to your destination. Surely the paltry difference in price of an online store vs the offline alternative will not break the bank. 4. You are also unaware that online stores partner with local merchants to sell their products to customers. Contrary to your opinion of discouraging SME's, they open up wider distribution channels for the lace merchant who could only sell to customers that come to Balogun market to reach a customer as far as calabar. 5. Regarding the issue of quality that you raised, Online Stores have to provide the same warranties for a product that a regular store provides, trust me, you cannot be repackaging products and passing them off as originals when you have a RETURN POLICY that protects the customers. 6. Regarding profitability, it is a well known fact that most online stores in Nigeria are yet to 'break even' talkless of turning a profit. So yes, the discount is very real.
In a nutshell, your summations are uninformed.

The Stereotyping diaries.... Everything written here is bull ifyan: 1. When l was having a discussion with a lady. She told me that when she check the price of a particular material in the Internet and when she unknowingly went to the product dealer store. 2. Trade fair. Now without wasting much of your time. This are what online stores do that you think are right
1. They are Wholesalers but sell higher than Retailers(are you surprised, then make enquire). 2. Some items you buy cheap online are either old one or given as gifts, charity etc. 3. Don’t be fooled by the discount because they are not fool to loose profit. 4. Old items but repackaged in a new box (you know what l mean). 5. Some products are not in the same grade with the original products (Quality Please). 6. Some are used as charity to some particular region but sold to you. 7. They are agents for companies from other countries. 8. They discourage Small scale and Medium Enterprise in an unknowingly way (this is a very complex issue which need a great understanding to the subject matter). 9. Welcome to the business world were you have to survive. So .......... •I'm building my store at the moment &i'm not a wholesaler. • old or charity items? That's funny are u looking for blog traffic or u are tryna make sense? • The discounts are on profit not on cost prices, do u believe konga or jumia will spend millions on online ads and sell short of the cost price? I agree black friday deals in America are better still, but look at our economy...things went from bad to worse, doing business in Nigeria is tough. •i agree a lot of online stores peddle fakes but this is a lot common in online market places where there are thousands of sellers and there is little or no regulation. Unfortunately jumia anf konga fall into this category. •on discouraging smes I don't understand what u mean, are u saying we should stop buying online? |

Dhavido: I've used both and I think it depends on the location. I was only getting 3G on my phone when using etisalat but I'm now getting H+ on glo. H+ also mean 3.5G Thanks, I guess its about location...ill find a glo user around me and ask questions dollarlander: A beg Etisalat na baba ogbonge gidigba. I was disappointed when I went back to Glo data plan. It was a very bad experience. I went back to Etisalat. ill probably stay put with etibaba, they should provide cheaper plans for folks sha Abatsam111: Your location dictates the speed. For Example, Glo is the fastest in my area, but when i get to another area, it may become slowish. I think that might be the reason, glo been once show me pepper for abuja. I got 3gb for N1000, I couldn't make use of even 500mb..Twas a bad experience, I visited port harcourt and my cousins glo was so fast Kyase: Etisalat is the fastest but when it comes to downloading, airtel is the boss. I don't do a lot of downloads, I guess i'll stick with etisalat. |
