No, nothing yet, fingers crossed.
AnCorner:

This is exactly my situation too. I tried to schedule an appointment on February 18. Have you gotten email from them?
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by vinci500: 2:06pm On Feb 18
Hey guys, I tried to schedule an appointment for a non-immigrant (B1/B2) visa, then I received a notification stating, "Your request to schedule an appointment has been received and will be reviewed. You’ll receive an email once your request is approved." This seems new to me. Is this normal, and how long do they normally take to respond?
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by vinci500: 10:37am On Feb 07
Please Ruby, what’s the current appointment time you’re seeing for Lagos? I’m really hoping the current timeline is not ridiculous right now.
Ruby56:

Thank you Debbie. I got my status as LPR through marriage to us citizen. I will fill another one and put 3 weeks. Yes I love early morning appointments. I saw that appointment times for Lagos is shorter than Abuja. Is it better I just do the Lagos again? Also the last one I put b1/b2 but got to my attention now that there is specifically b2 for tourism/medical treatment. So I should pick the b2 right?

This is brilliant, thank you so much for the tips. Really appreciate it.
OyoTunjiUSA:

Hey 🤠

1 Your sister's previous visa denials was based on the point that she did not really have anything meaningful going to do in America and besides , she was going to visit someone who has not really gained ground in the USA.

2. Now that you have become a Permanent Resident , invite your sister (blood relation first) and kid alone and remove the husband out of the movie . Indicate yourself as the main sponsor and be honest in every form you 're filling that you just missed your sister over the period of 6 years .

3. Your sister's husband in Nigeria as well as her job back home will proof TIES (reason for return ) for her .

4. Go n get the MRV (visa fees) for them and book their Appointments right now , no one can guarantee timeframe but with constant checking she might get a date perhaps in the year 2024. Applying for the emergency Appointment is the surest avenue to get your desired date but your sister won't qualify . Her option is to join the date-search bandwagon

Best Wishes 🙏

No, they will all be applying.
No travel history that I am aware of
Opeyemi007:
Will she be applying alone this time? Has there been any significant change in her/their lives between the last application and now? Any travel history?
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by vinci500: 11:26pm On Jan 28
Hey guys I have two questions, any tips and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Question 1: I am attempting to apply for a visit visa for my sister and her family (husband and one daughter). She has been denied twice.

First time: She went with her daughter, they were both denied. (Invitation was for my graduation in 2019). Interview was at the consulate in Abuja

Second time: She went with her kid and husband, they were all denied. Interview was in Lagos. (2022)

I want her to apply again, as I think she was ill prepared both times based on my conversations with her after both interviews. I haven't seen them in about 6 years, and I'd love to have them visit for a few weeks as I recently just became a PR via Eb visa. What would you suggest we do differently this time? I want to be more involved and precise in the application process this time to avoid repeating the same mistake and will gladly welcome any advice or scrutiny you may have. I still believe it's possible for them to get a visit visa, so I don't want to lose hope.

Question 2: What are the current timelines for getting an interview date, and are there any legitimate ways to secure a date in 2024 without negatively impacting their immigration aspirations?

Thank you in advance for your contributions, grateful for a platform such as this.

I fully understand your stance and trust me when I say I followed through the arguments, however none of the non-co-signing loan possibility stated seem to fit into my profile. Also, I understand co-signing is a serious commitment, especially in the case of a default from the primary applicant - Technically, I can say I worked as a credit officer for 2 years and I understand what it means to indemnify someone. That being said, plz if you can help a brother pleasee do (on my knees), you really did raise my hope when I read ur post on helping some1 get a co-signor. Trust me I have a fantastic credit record at least here in NG.
femi312:
grin grin....on a serious note, sometimes when people argue here, its not just for argument sake. You should try to pick one or two things. If I were you, I will be checking out the non US loan facility they have mentioned to see which one will work for me. Nobody that is not blood or very close to you will cosign a loan for you. Cosigning is much more that it seems.

Abeg link me up Bro. I beseech thee! The co-signer requirement is the only thing delaying my loan application approval.
Fwesh101:
Thanks to everyone that contributed to the issue of the loan and co-signer I appreciate, it would have been much easy if there is anyone that has given the loan thing a shot... I have someone that can co-signer the loan to those doubting...cheers

Sorry about your denial, IMO the resumption date is too close. I'm sorry you might have to defer and re-strategise. However, what is the reason for your denial? So you can get help from the forum.

My school resumes January 9th and I can't seem to find an earlier appointment date despite the fact that my expedited appointment was approved.

What can I do at this point? It is quite worrisome!

Thanks sir for your response.
I hope it's not too late to submit my application for January start date?

Not anymore. Recently, VFS ensured all applicant's using the paper route dropped their passport alongside their application.

Yes i did submit a separate application for the TA after i was advised by my supervisor to do so.
When it comes to getting a scholarship, TA and the likes from an institution, i would say the key is your research proposal, ensure you take your time to draft one, if you do, it could save you thousands of dollars!
All the best Sir/Ma.
cuspy:

Congrats on the TA issue. If you don't mind, what school and what program are you going for? What aspect of you application do you think made you bag this TA position? Did you make a separate application for the TA position or all applicants to the school are considered?

Congrats again.

I have just been awarded a TA by my institution, effective 31st August 2017, this is expected to cover a substantial amount of my tuition. I am yet to get my TRV despite applying much much earlier. Should I send a mail to CIC attaching the letter to see if that would make them speed things up?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by vinci500: 8:52am On Jul 15, 2017
My application as at today is about 15,465,600 seconds old or 257,760 minutes or 4296 hours or 179 days or 25 weeks and 4 days whichever one you choose to call it smiley. Meaning CIC have spent 49.04% of 2017 processing my app. I remember a friend asking me few weeks back 'how come you still manage to laugh'.

Well, one I thing I am confident of is that, one day all this is gonna be history when I am living my dreams in the beautiful city of Vancouver. I'm not gonna worry, I am just gonna enjoy my life and prepare for the best.

I can't deny i don't also have times that I am like 'what the heck is going on, why is this taking so damn long!' but I take a conscious effort to re-route my thinking and stay positive.

My advice, channel your energy into other productive things, while you hope for the best, don't spend all day opening & checking your CIC account. Worrying is a negative energy. No doubt the hardest part of Canada visa application process is the 'waiting period' especially for we Nigerians. But you just gotta be positive and trust God that everything would work out fine. Worrying won't change the outcome of your visa app, but I believe God can and will work it out in your favour.

Brace yourself house, I see avalanche of TRV approval coming.

Mehn...This list is pretty long, IMHO, i think the response time/rate from CIC this year has been really poor, I mean I don't know if am off point here but this list is proof don't you think. All I was familiar with was the 8-10 weeks thingy even when the processing time was way longer. The only two explanable reasons I could think of is perhaps increase in immigrants application to Canada due to Trump's unfriendly immigration rhetorics (IRCC must be experiencing a surge in application rate right now) and possibly the recent Nigeria's Foreign exchange crisis (which I think has been a lil bit stable lately). Anything else, I think this new 'pattern' is just unusual and worrisome to say the least.
I wish there was someone in authority we could email or something. [quote author=Osemigho post=56204630]LIST OF TRV HOPEFULS (SUMMER & FALL 2017)
