I love Prof. Tam Davis West for his loyalty and consistency.
He has never flinched in his support and admiration for GMB. And in today's political terrain such men are very rare to find. I wish him good health and long life. I hope GMB lives up to his/our expectations too.

Car Talk / Re: Businessman Crushed To Death During Police Stop -and-search by VIPICO(m): 12:37pm On May 08, 2015
I witnessed a scene close to this - perhaps not fatal - on PortHarcourt/Ikot Abasi expressway a few month ago.
I was driving foremost in the line-up as we went along the highway. Suddenly some policemen emerged from the roadside and flagged us down. I hardly barely applied my brake when I looked at my rear view mirror and saw the cars behind me bumping into each other at very high speed. I could even see some bonnets flying into the sky. Yours truly quickly rammed on my accelerator and sped off while still viewing what was happening behind me on the mirror. What was worse! the cursed men in black scrambled into their pick-up van and shamefully took off.

I really had my God to thank that day.

Do u know it has become 9gb now for 3.5k on Airtel with 3 months validity and 4gb for 2k with 2 months validity, tho it selects sim..to verify if you're eligible, dial *438*1#..try not to have up to 3.5k first, if it replies saying you have insufficient balance, that means you're eligible otherwise it would reply saying you do not quality for the plan. For the 4gb 2k, d code is *437*1#.. I observe that it works well for those newer sims with 0902...numbers

Does this stuff work on modem or is it strictly android?

U mean d validity of this 9gb plan happens to be 2 months and not 3 months advertised?

Please guys confirm that validity for 9GB is 90 days as advertised or is it 60 days? I need to know before subscribing. Cheers

Here's saying a hearty CONGRATULATION to all 4th set of Graduands of the National Open University of Nigeria which took place at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos on the 17th January, 2015. Like the overall Best Graduating student said in her valedictory speech, be happy for your success but don't rest on your oars, do not relish it for too long. The world waits for no one. It's time to set new goals and move on to achieve more in life - whatever it is you have chosen for yourself. May God be with you all. - VIPICO (OP of this thread)

passe:
So the same dealer want to sell old stocks for N2000? When it was the other way round when the prices was dropped, the same dealer was probably selling old stocks at old prices say N1800 claiming it was old stocks.Would they be reasonable enough now to sell the same old stocks they have now say btw N1000 to N1500 or so? This is why we are still far behind.

Do you know the guy even had the guts to tell me to pay him N1500 instead of the agreed N1450. I just dropped the call on him and he called back apologizing. Greed is our bane here.
Properties / Why The Sudden Increase In Cement Price Today? by VIPICO(m): 6:13pm On Dec 15, 2014
This morning I bought some bags of cement in my area in Port Harcourt for N1450 per bag. Few hours later the same dealer called me to say cement is now selling for N2000 per bag. Not to mention that a few months ago, Dangote cement said they had crashed the price of a brand of their cement to N1000. All these does not make sense to me.

It's a challenging environment but after everything considered, the total cost of all the materials, labor, logistics, settlements of area boys and supervision cost is N2.9m. This includes some of the construction we did to the walls in the dining section. It's a wide decking with cantilevers.

This price is quite understandable being that this is a relatively large block of flats. I'm sure a four-bedroom structure with a voided main sitting room won't set a brother back by too much of a princely sum. I will soon be needing your consultation and mentor-ship especially as it relates to pricing

No, the first contract is to construct the suspended slab, my client also wants us to continue the house till roofing stage. Welcome.

Do you know I used to think you only do complete-build contracts. I had the impression that you wouldn't like to do a building in bits. This is very good to know especially for those of us with shallow pockets. We may want to take it in batches as our strength is able to carry us.

Properties / Re: My House Building Project From Scratch. by VIPICO(m): 12:09am On Jul 25, 2014
The fence was completed 19-07-14. A temporary gate was installed pending completion of construction. More work has also been done: A water borehole drilling was completed with a 1500 liter surface tank on Monday 21-07-14 and commissioned. Moulding of 9" hollow blocks for the building also started same day and is ongoing. A site hut for storage of tools and equipment is under construction.
Yours sincerely is currently out of town. Will keep everyone posted picture-wise as soon as I get back.

Stay blessed, y'all.

A total of 2400 5-inch non-hollow blocks at N115 per block have been paid for and are being delivered to site for the fencing. Somehow I defied Professor Spyder's advice to wait the blocks out at the moulder's place before moving them to site. Well, since its fence, the blocks will surely get a good measure of rain and sun later. For now work must start.

I like this question. Whatcha say, Spyd?

Whalesss: Spyder, Hopefully at the end we will get an average cost of 1m2 of decking all inclusive or do you have a ballpack figure?
Properties / Re: Decking A Block Of Flats In Port Harcourt. by VIPICO(m): 5:48am On Jul 09, 2014
Spyd,
Are you saying your work here is strictly to construct the suspended slab and then demob?

spyder880: We gather here once again to do another project for a Nairalander. We have gone into an agreement to build a suspended slab, otherwise known as a decking on this block of flats in PH.

Details of the project are as follows.

Project: Construction of a suspended slab
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State of Nigeria
Client: A Nairalander
Contractor: Tigerkenn Nig LTD.
Project duration: 30 days.

Watch as we congregate and do a good work as usual, utilising the best building materials and employing skilled workers to achieve better building structures. Welcome all.

spyder880: Christmas is in the air!

Its that time of the year when we must pause for a few days and savor the blessings of the almighty, a time we are supposed to slow down from all our rushing and toiling and join the rest of humanity as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. I am using this opportunity to wish you all a the merriest Christmas ever, and a 2014 filled with bountiful blessings and favor. May your blessings become so much that you will make others rich just by the small you give out.

It has been a very challenging year for us at the Spyder building enterprise, we expanded the scope of our operations and completed some beautiful projects, but this is just the beginning. We plan to spread out more in 2014 and build an even greater number of houses. Building houses by bringing out beautifully drawn plans to stand magnificently is our passion, but we also try to something else. We put ourselves in the shoes of our client and try to have a feel of what he desires to achieve. We then work hard to bring his thought to reality by working round the clock to build his dream.

It has not been rosy all the time, we have had to go to extra lengths to do our work, sometimes we do what might seem too difficult, skipping meals and sleep, standing under the rain and sun, screaming and fighting with troublesome workers, traveling at odd hours, and at dangerous speeds through dangerous zones.

But the lord has been good to us, it was not just because we were very strong, or efficient. It was because the lord wanted to favor us by enabling us to stay strong.
