CHEVROLET VIKING SHORT BUS It may look small, but this converted 1959 Chevrolet Viking Short Bus is designed to comfortably ferry 12 passengers and a driver to a destination of their own choosing. The two sofas located in the center of the bus fold down to create two twin beds, or can be pushed together to create a single queen. Other amenities — namely plumbing and power — provide passengers on this Moroccan-styled conversion everything they need to be self-sufficient while on the road.

ISRAELI LONG PUBLIC BUS The designers of this renovation decided to shape the interior of the bus around its original layout, taking structural facets such as the interior wheel arches and existing windows into consideration. The before and after photos are astonishing, though, they probably should be given the conversion cost around $300,000. The salvaged bus now includes diner-styled seating, a rear bedroom, bathroom, storage throughout, a full kitchen, and air conditioning, which is crucial given some regions of Israel can top 110 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer.

THE YELLOW SCHOOL BUS This school bus seemingly has more in common with a small apartment than your typical commuter vehicle, which is likely why it once housed a family of four, three dogs, and two cats. The interior features a sizable skylight, not to mention a fridge, a washer and dryer, a propane range, a compost toilet, a shower, and two electric heaters that flank the couch.

THOMAS SCHOOL BUS A paltry 192 square feet of floor space isn’t much to work with, but the owner of this Chevrolet-Thomas school bus transformed his vehicle into a livable home after purchasing it from the state of North Carolina in 2013. They extended the roof to add 8 feet of headroom, and outfitted the bus with a fridge, freezer, double-basin sink, and the kind of cabinetry you’d expect to find in something a bit more modern.

THE BIG GREEN BUS This 1982 West Midlands Metro Bus once hauled students to school and had more than 689,00 miles on it. These days, it sits in the Sussex countryside, where you can rent it out for a long weekend in the woods. As far as lodging goes, the double decker features three bedrooms and sleeps six, and includes a full kitchen, a wood stove, and plenty of books to go around. Now, if only a two-night stay wasn’t around $470…

1940s. BEDFORD OB BUS A classic motor enthusiast spent more than 3,500 hours and $250,000 to restore this 1959 Bedford OB Bus. They also added a diesel engine and rear air suspension, allowing this bus to go up to 90 miles per hour. Inside you’ll find a bedroom, full bath and shower, and seating for up to five people. The added sunroof, central heating, and a 27-inch iMac simply round out the list of modern amenities.

THE EMERALD GYPS After several years of work, this bus was renovated into a retro-styled mobile home, one that sports a rooftop deck, a double bed, and a knotty pine-lined interior that makes it feel like you’re sleeping in a log cabin instead of a school bus from the late-1940s.

DAN THE ADVENTURE BUS Equipped with 320-watt solar panels and an astroturf-lined rooftop, this 30-seater school bus was converted into a home fit for a 49-state adventure. The interior features LED lighting and reclaimed wood, the latter of which adorns the floor, countertop, and various storage compartments. Even the toilet, which sits within a cargo trunk, carries a vintage aesthetic.

EXPEDITION HAPPINESS A couple of years ago, a German couple decided to ditch their life in Berlin, travel to the United States, and convert this 40-foot school bus into an epic home on wheels, one that could shuttle them from Alaska to Mexico. They filmed everything they did — from installing solar panels to building furniture — to create Expedition Happiness, a documentary now viewable on Netflix.

YETIBUS This converted school bus is called the “Yetibus.” The 1986 vehicle runs purely on vegetable oil, helping to reduce greenhouse emissions and curb climate change. The interior offers approximately 200 square feet of floor space and includes a kitchen, bedroom, living room, and bathroom. The ultra-efficient wood stove is just a plus.

Nothing is better than jumping in your car and hitting the road in search of an adventure, but what if your home was your car, essentially making every day an adventure. From a 1966 GMC Commuter Greyhound that’s been converted into a home fit for a king, to a 90-seat double decker turned mobile chateau, bus-to-mobile-home conversions are more popular than ever. Here is just a taste of some of the coolest conversions out there, each of which will make you want to buy a bus and hit the open road. |

you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. ... We must take sides. ... Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed. Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.” Abraham Lincoln “Liberty has never come from the government. Liberty has always come from the subjects of it. Are you their eldest child? Do you have other sibling(s)? (All of) you should find some convenient time and have some meaningful discussion. In the most polite manner, explain to your parents how frustrating it has become over the years. How their quarrels hurt you severely. Sometimes, they don't really have enough empathy to see / feel how emotionally draining that frequent quarrelsome attitude affect their children. Sorry for your pains. It shall be well. |
You remember him? Former UBS trader Kweku Adoboli vows to fight deportation Ghana-born 38-year-old appeals as Home Office tells him to go following jail term Diane Taylor Kweku Adoboli, the former UBS trader who caused a $2.3bn (£1.8bn) financial loss – the biggest in UK history – has vowed to fight attempts by the Home Office to deport him from the UK to Ghana, his country of birth. Adoboli, 38, has not lived in Ghana since he was four years old and describes himself as British. He was freed after serving half of a seven-year sentence for two counts of fraud for abuse of his position at UBS, including one count relating to the unauthorised trading losses. However, he was acquitted of four counts of false accounting. Since his release from jail in 2015 he has given many talks to students, financial traders and others in the banking industry about how to operate ethically and avoid making the mistakes he made. “I’ve given talks to about 6,500 people from many different backgrounds about how to learn from failure and how to make decisions in difficult situations,” said Adoboli. He reports once a month to the Home Office in Livingston in Scotland, where he lives, and fears that he may be arrested in preparation for deportation when he reports there on Monday, after he was denied permission to judicially review the deportation proceedings. Adoboli has appealed, asking the home secretary, Sajid Javid, not to deport him because of his longstanding ties with the UK and the fact that he is working hard to educate people to avoid making the same mistakes he made at UBS. “The home secretary is, like me, a former banker. He knows what change we need to deliver in this industry. He should recognise the devastating human cost to me of being deported to Ghana,” Adoboli said. He added that he believed the hostile environment at the Home Office continued despite reports that the government department has softened its stance in many areas of its immigration policy. “I believe I’m being used as an example by the Home Office,” said Adoboli. His solicitor, Jacqueline McKenzie, is hoping to lodge a fresh claim with the Home Office about Adoboli’s case on Monday morning. She said the case raises wider issues about deportation of offenders who have grown up in the UK and are settled here. “This is a really unfair situation for Kweku,” she said. Earlier this week, a court denied him permission for a judicial review of the deportation proceedings, and granted a request by the Home Office to be allowed to deport him even if he renews his application for a review. “The current challenge is very substantially out of time,” said Lord Justice Lane said in his ruling. Under British law, foreign nationals who are sentenced to longer than four years in prison are automatically subject to being deported, unless they can argue that there are compelling reasons to allow them to stay in the country. Adoboli has launched a CrowdJustice campaign to raise funds to help pay his legal bills. A Home Office spokesperson said: “All foreign nationals who are given a custodial sentence will be considered for removal. “Foreign nationals who abuse our hospitality by committing crimes in the UK should be in no doubt of our determination to deport them and we have removed more than 42,800 foreign offenders since 2010.” https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/business/2018/aug/18/former-ubs-trader-kweku-adoboli-vows-to-fight-deportation

How can you hate the very pot that was used to cook a meal which you professed to have loved? It is not the hammer that should be blamed, it is the carpenter that should take all the blame. If a meal is proving too difficult to be prepared, should one blame the ingredients or the chef that was given the mandate to have the meal prepared? My brother, do a deep soul searching and face reality. |
You don't want to give anyone the impression that you're mostly unoccupied. Even if you have nothing to do the whole day, no one has to know {unless the person can offer you something to do}. It's imperative to give the impression of having a busy and eventful life. Every relationship is unique, therefore should be approached with an open and particularly unique manner. Generally in communication, timing is key. Avoid calling during working hours. Schedule your call before or after working hours. Lastly, texting is a fine alternative to calling. Personally, I prefer communicating via text. |

xedyl:This is wrong on so many fronts. First, you shouldn't even start a fight you aren't prepared for. Secondly, how does one go about preparing for a 'virtual war'? Thirdly, even if you manage to prepare (I strongly doubt you can), the odds are monumentally and eternally stacked against the player, virtual games are overtly manipulated to outdo the players. You're doomed to fail. |

I believe that the NASS have some credible reasons as to why they have refused to grant the wishes of INEC. why has the NASS refused to release funds to INEC? They have more Intel than you could ever grasp. Those figures being paraded by INEC is at best obnoxious. Mind you, it is the constitutional duty of the nass to channel the resources of this country to good and efficient use. INEC has a duty to prove beyond reasonable doubt that those monies if approved would be used to strengthen Nigeria's democracy, until the needful is done, NASS has the legitimacy to withhold such monies from INEC. Charge and chant all you want, INEC has a duty to relate to the custodians of Nigeria's wealth how any kobo released to them would be spent to the satisfaction of the NASS. |
