Rather, collections are only made to support the needly. I know exactly what I'm talking about. If you have any relation over there, ask this say question.
You remember sometime ago, living faith church in England was closed down. Later, they were given back their license to operate. You never bother to find out what conspired? You are here in Nigeria promoting religion with your little finance. Your schools are decaying.

2016v2017: tithe is not mandatory for riches, but love is. many rich nations that don't acknowledge or pay tithe are getting richer, while in Nigeria, the MOGs that receive tithes are richer, even richer than the FG. that's what I'm asking, so you've gone to those countries to know they don't pay tithes? And you mean tithes makes us poor or what? Just imagine :-( no even quote again coz I no dey reply. Goan open ur church too so that u can collect tithes and be richer than fg. People that pay large amount of money as tithes are even the rich ones. Goto orphanage homes and check how many Christians are donating every month. You, why not carry all ur money go give them. Before this tithe issue started trending we Christians have been helping the poor and we will continue to help. I no no whether you want make we carry all our money go give them abi wetin. you know the amount of money oyedepo/other big pastors get every Sunday only from offering? If they are eating all the offering/tithe money , then they are not even living large yet with what I'm seeing. If you think becoming a pastor is a business, Open your church let's see how far it will go. Mtcheew.... |

safarigirl: so, God came to you and told you that if you don't tithe, you will offend him?
So God is not a merciful God anymore who sent his son for the salvation of man? So, if you don't tithe, you cannot make heaven? Your eternity is hinged upon the 10% you pay every month?
Does that mean God's love is conditional? That strikes out the idea that the love of God for humans is agape, does it not?
Then pray tell, what is the point of the death of Jesus?
Lalasticlala please come and move this to FP, let emusmithy get the attention he so desperately needs. Boredom seems to have come upon him Did we say this is the reason we're tithing??. You're so dumb |

AN OPEN CHEQUE TO IMO PEOPLE! Manifestation of a sub-conscious act can produce results that challenge man’s self-interest! With the beleaguered demeanor attached to the leadership character of the current Governor of Imo state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, it becomes most apparent to look at the other side for positive interpretation of his actions. Overlooking the current mood of the state, “Happiness”, one may postulate! With the aura of confidence that presently pervades the camp of the Son in-law to the Governor, the Chief of Staff to the Imo state Government, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, only a sophist may not see the clanger attempt of the Governor to project his Son in-law for the 2019 Governorship position. How does one explain the source of funds already being used for Uche Nwosu’s ongoing projection campaigns! Dead on arrival, many prefer to submit! But if one considers the astutely stubborn nature of the Governor in the face of public outcry against some of his policies, if the Governor’s push for his Son in-law is not eruditely challenged, he will persist! Though on the other hand, maybe a clandestine option or maybe not. The Governor’s very loyal and humble Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere (still a mystery though! How he combines loyalty to Rochas with simplicity). Very swift in exercising leadership functions, Madumere has in a while kept a low key to in vogue debates surrounding who succeeds Rochas. He is entwined with state duty calls. A workaholic by job nature, he appears to be somewhat very popular within the masses. The only undoing is his ardent loyalty to the Governor, even though it may seem neglected; the Prince of Mbaike is still in the Governor’s chest. A joker? Maybe or maybe not! Most importantly for Imo is that they now have a choice! Choosing between these two Rescue Mission warheads of the Governor, even before his eventual open declaration of choice. Ordinarily it would have been a non-contest considering the very matured leadership character and pedigree of the Imo state Deputy Governor placed side by side with the propelled capacity of a notably leadership shy Chief of Staff to the Imo state Government. Not wanting to bring up the spasmodic neglect of an age-long zoning arrangement that is an open determinant factor of which zone should produce the next Governor. Unfortunately though, legendary leaders like the Imo state Governor, who ought to protect and uphold the chastity of this political agreement have now become the one’s attempting to break it! Shame though, it clearly depicts an ambition driven by selfishness from a man who ignorantly has forgotten yesterday, same time also forgetting tomorrow! Just like the old adage which says, “Ignorance will not be an excuse for tomorrow’s failure”, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, amiable as he is anyway, should carefully and solemnly re-consider the Imo state political permutations and avoid a colorless grandstand which gradually takes not only him but an entire structure to a prepared pit of political oblivion, certainly not the kind of landing expected of a two-tenured successful political flight! The underlying truth is would Uche Nwosu, given a different circumstance, have opted to run for Governorship in the face of all the glaring brick-walls already prepared to confront his ambition if not tied to the apron string of the Governor. An ambition reclusively that of the Governor; with a prepared battleground against and opposed, not only by outside political forces alone, but also by familiar political forces largely within! Unlike before, political events or anticipations of this nature are becoming more participatory. The newspaper stands, commercial buses, schools, public centers consistently vibrates with sounds of displeasure, anger and electoral revolution! Just one trend is common; everyone wants to ensure that the right things are done. The claim by the House Member representing Oguta constituency, Hon. Ezedairo some days back that the entire Imo state House of Assembly Members had collectively endorsed Ugwumba Uche Nwosu for 2019, was immediately refuted by this time, “surely” a genuinely collective House blatantly stating its refusal to be cajoled by anyone to do the not needful. The ball is now in the court of public domain to do with it as wished. Somehow, Owelle in his sub-conscious wisdom has given Imolites a blank cheque. Make your choice; it is between a Prince Eze Madumere that possibly as you read this piece, is somewhere representing Imo state in developmental engagements or on state duties to represent the Governor in a parley. And an Uche Nwosu that could equally be somewhere making huge cash donations to youth bodies and communities as they sing his praises and swear that it must be him for Governor 2019! Imo the cheque is open before you. You know what you want. In 2011, you chose a koboless Owelle ahead of a loaded Ohakim! Then it was war between foes, now it is just choosing between hardwork and opportunity! Just remember hardwork pays. STEVE GOZIE |

maryjames9: Nobody is against tithing since to you it is the most important thing in Christianity. I am all for tithing but what I am against is the Pastors who use tithes of members to acquire all manner of material wealth for themselves. Pastors who acquire private jets, guccy shoes, cars, houses, properties even when these brainwashed followers are obviously poor and in abject penury. Imagine a pastor who reported a friend to his parent that he has stopped paying tithe to his church since he was transfered to another town. Most pastors will stop visiting you as usual when you get fired from your work and could no longer fund Churches programs. These and many more tells you that Pastors are only after the money. Many of them have abandoned their calling because of money and had become prosperity preachers. In a nutshell, I support that tithes should be paid to TRUE BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH or MISSIONS. These are the people who needed the money to truly spread the gospel to where they are desperately needed. Please what evidence do you have that it's tithe they use to acquire those things? If no evidence then shut the Bleep up. Do you know how many millionaires/billionaires meets the pastor after service to give the pastor millions of naira/cars/clothes? Dey dere dey deceive urself. You dont goto church so you cant know what happens there. Fyi, one man built a church of 1 billion naira for winners chapel. So i dont know what you think these guys cant buy for their pastors. Hedonistically: Another daft punk fouling up cyberspace with criminal inanity. You fools suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, obviously.
A pastor is 'busy" doing what exactly? Doing what that requires spending tens of millions of dollars buying private jets and additional millions annually to maintain the jets? Which problem is he solving by being "busy'", and more importantly, which problems is he NOT solving by wasting money on private jets?
You idiots need to read about the SACRIFICES of the colonial era missionaries who left their occupations, wealth, families, and everything in Europe to come to Africa to spread the Gospel. They came with only one agenda: to spread the Gospel, even with their own life savings.... with a determination to bear the discomforts to suffer in the African mosquito infested bushes in order to win souls for Christ!
Now, we have pastors who can't be inconvenienced by economy class in airlines because they are "busy". Busy preaching about tithes to fools. They have preaching engagements here and there so they must buy jets to meet up. What is the urgency of this rubbish? They are comparing themselves to normal worldly businessmen like Dangote and Adenuga who have made money the worldly way and SHOULD enjoy their money the worldly way! Besides Dangote has businesses worldwide and it shouldn't be a problem if he decided to buy a jet to meet up with urgent business meetings here and there.
What is URGENT about preaching nonsense? that these bastard pastors must spend billions of Naira on jets, to the detriment of millions of hungry and poor people they could have used that money to help?
No make me vex. Before thunder go strike your generation. If you vex wetin go happen? No be when you talk finish you keep quiet? If e pain u go hug transformer. Okay I agree we're giving our monies to pastors to buy private jets, so how is that your business? Since you're not giving, what's your problem with people that are giving? Or is it your sweat I used to make the money? |

PaChukwudi44: in otherowrds you have no biblical basis for that statement? Too bad!!! Well to educate you.Tithing even under the now obsolete jewish law was also meant for the poor.
Deuteronomy 14:22-29New International Version (NIV)
Tithes
22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. 23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always. 24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose. 26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice. 27 And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own.
28 At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns, 29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
Tithing today is no longer applicable as the jewish laws has been nullified by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.Donation to the church is definitely not the only way of giving to God.One to also give to God by giving to the poor and fatherless.
Matthew 25:35-40English Standard Version (ESV)
35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[a] you did it to me.’ Saying trash |
