One shouldn't have to pay to be prayed for. You can give your tithe/alms ("something (such as money or food) given freely to relieve the poor distributing alms to the needy" ) ... to anyone in need, especially the poor, widows, and orphans. Your pastor and/or anyone who is godly and cares for your soul should pray for you for free!

Tithe and offerings are used for general administration of the church that include taking care of orphans and homeless when the need arise. Every church have a way of administering the fund from tithes and offerings

Tho I didn't state that tithes should be used to pay ministers. I will give you the pleasure of addressing the issue you raised.

You give alms to the needy (orphans and homeless) and then you take your tithe to the temple to honor God. But well, it's a choice!

The reason many Christians are not going to church is because the lack faith not necessary because of money or job. There had being lack of job in 70's 80's yet many didn't want to attend. Even if most churches decide to help their members which is necessary, many will still find excuse not to attend. Haven't you wonder why most developed countries stop attending churches inspite of their economy?
